Mountain Time - Exploring for Bigfoot & Ginseng

Today (now yesterday 9/17/21), and really the day before, I had just not been feeling like myself. Just had no energy and just didn't feel like doing anything. I was very lethargic and knew I had to get myself out of it. So, I decided to get myself ready and go to the mountains. We all know nature and the outdoors in general has healing property for most of us. 

I slowly got ready and got all my gear loaded into the truck. I had planned on making myself climb the mountains until I was feeling better. If I had to hike 10 miles, I was going to do it.

So, what follows is about a 10-minute video that is filled with my thoughts, findings, and beautiful scenery. I hope you enjoy it.

Children Watching Bigfoot Of Lincolnville, S.C.

First came the awful smell. Then they could see the red eyes watching them from the woods.

It all seemed to start on June 24, making the summer of 1970 one to be remembered. Lincolnville was a small town, heavily wooded, near the Ashley River and Lake Moultrie. With not much around town to entertain the children, they would meet up at the witness's house and usually play hide and seek. As the six children played, they would first become aware of an awful odor, as if something was dead. As they would slow their play and look around, they would see the red eyes watching them from the woods along the rear of the property, behind the chain link fence that ran around the one to two acres of land.

The witness was not certain how tall this watcher was, just that it was taller than any human she knew. The first time the watcher appeared, the children were so frightened they all ran into the house where the grandmother and cousin were told of the watcher. They did not believe the children's story.

Possible Dogman Seen in Harlan County

I got the following report in a few days ago of a possible dogman sighting in the Totz community of Harlan County. After gathering a little more information and looking at the area on Google Maps the report is ready to share. 

I should also say that this is an area I'm generally familiar with and travel near or through on occasion.

Australia And White Yowie - The White Bigfoot Series

North America is not alone with reports of white-haired bipedal beings. Australia has a few reports.

It's difficult to research as it seems most reports [especially the earliest ones] make no mention of hair color.  However, I did find these three reports of white, or light colored, yowie in Australia.

The first report I want to talk about was reported in April 1979 by Leo George and his wife Patricia. They lived in the Wentworth Fall, NSW region and often walked there.

Bigfoot Seen Entering Old Coal Mine

I had heard about this sighting of two bigfoots entering an old coal mine a few months back. I recently gathered more details and location information. So, it was time to venture into the wilds of the Kentucky forest to see if I could find the site. 

Some of what I will type here is also in the video and some of the things referenced in the video will be linked in this post.

Before we get to the video, let me give you a little background on this sighting.

Research Into The White Sasquatch

Some of the more interesting questions center around colors of bigfoot or sasquatch.
Anything other than brown or black is considered rare.

But I haven't found that to be true as I've gathered and explored reports both old and new.

There are many colors and hues among these beings.

John Green conducted a study of the reports he had gathered and came to this conclusion : 50% were of black or dark colored; 25% brown; 15% light colored and 8% grey.  If I'm adding right, it appears he felt only 2% had no description.

Ginseng Hunter Finds Bigfoot Evidence

On September 8th I went into an area, that I'm fairly familiar with, to explore for ginseng. Logging had taken place in one of my favorite places to ginseng hunt, so I had to go to another spot. This particular area is an area that I normally only go to a couple times a year.

This general area is also home to a handful of bigfoot sightings and track findings. I have explored the area in the past and found a few tracks and some stick formations. It is a good area, but I have two other areas that have been very active over the years and I just never had time to really go to this area very often.

On this day, I was exploring for ginseng, I had found some but it was nothing to write home about. The area is very steep and rough. Some of the steep areas have a lot of loose rock and footing is very difficult. These types of conditions tend to wear a person down sooner. I had been in the area for around 4 hours and decided to work my way back towards my truck.

What Makes A Bigfoot White?

There are a few theories that are thrown out there by researchers on how some bigfoot or sasquatch are white in color.

One of them is that bigfoot and sasquatch turn white in the winter.

This is true in some animals. There are 7 known animals that will turn white in the winter season.

Legend of the Seeahtik

Some Native tribes say that during evolution when the peoples were changing from animal to man, the Seeahtik did not fully absorb the soul power [the tamanaweis] and they became an anomaly in the evolutionary process.

According to the mythology, there are said to be two types of this large, hairy Wildman of the forest. One is a powerful, but benign forest spirit. They are sometimes called Night People and are considered similar to sasquatch. The other is a more fearsome creature; a malevolent man-eater. They are sometimes referred to as Stick Indians.

The two are often mistaken for the other in folklore and tales told by the Native peoples. Each tribe has their name for them and their stories of encounters with them. They are not to be confused with sasquatch.

Bigfoot Area & History Destroyed

On 9/3/21 I went to an area I had not been in this year. I knew there was some logging taking place in this area but I didn't realize just how bad it was. This is an area where I had found a lot bigfoot related evidence over the years, and a place where I like to hunt ginseng. I particularly liked this side of the mountain as it has fewer venomous snakes than the other side.

I tell a lot more about the area and my many years of exploring it, during the video. This is also the area where several episodes of Almost Live seasons 1 & 2 were filmed. I don't think it will ever be the same ..well at least not in my lifetime. For me, this was a very historic area that is part of my family history and it saddens me to see it totally annihilated in this manner.

Field Research (9/2/21) Ginseng Time & Bigfoot Finds

Hey gang, I'm back with another post from a very recent outing. This is a great time of year for me. Not only do I get to go out looking for bigfoot evidence, but I also get to explore the Kentucky mountains for ginseng. I enjoy doing both and I'm glad I can share the adventures with everyone.

On this particular day, I went to my gifting area and left out some goodies. It was a quick trip as I wanted to hit the woods and look for ginseng. The ginseng season comes in on September 1st for us but I didn't get to go that day due to wind and rain. So I was excited to get out there. 

While out on this adventure I had not one but two black bear encounters.

The Tatra Mountains sightings

The Tatra Mountains run along the border between Poland and Slovakia, forming a natural border. It is the highest mountain range in the Carpathians but should not become confused with the Low Tatras which are located south of the  Mountains in Slovakia. Also called Tatras or Tatra, they cover an area of 303 square miles. This provides a lot of territory for the creature they call yeti. We would call them sasquatch or bigfoot. Let's take a look at two encounter reports that come from the Tatra Mountains.

The first report comes from Piotr Kowalski. The 27 year old was apparently hiking in the Tatra and had started filming a mountain goat when he was distracted by a large upright figure among the rocks. The hairy figure came out from behind some rocks, walking on two legs.

Bigfoot myths about Teddy Roosevelt

There are several stories that make the rounds concerning Teddy Roosevelt and sasquatch.

Myth #1 : Roosevelt killed a bigfoot during one of his hunting expeditions.

Myth #2 : Roosevelt had a face to face encounter during which he had to fight for his life.

Myth#3 : While camping deep in the woods, one night Roosevelt heard howls and growls that he could not identify as any animal he knew.

There is no evidence to support those tall tales. False. False. And the last happened to Bauman in the story that Roosevelt retold.

Creature in the Giant Sequoias - Shawn Bannon

Shawn Bannon's bigfoot footage: "Creature in the Giant Sequoias" : is another film that continues to generate talk. There are those who cry hoax and those who say it could be real. The sides are about evenly divided.

This piece of film is said to have been originally posted in 2006.  After gaining around 2 million views, it was apparently removed from the internet. It was reposted on June 17, 2013 by Bannon on both YouTube and Vimeo channels.

Bigfoot at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri

Pulaski County in Missouri has had multiple encounters with sasquatch. And some of the best witnesses have been the soldiers training at Fort Leonard Wood.

One of the best known stories comes from Erik Youngdahl back in May, 1982. He was in basic training when he had his eye-opening sighting.

They were on guard duty training that day. Youngdahl had just been paired up with another soldier, Unabia, and were alphabetically loaded onto the truck to be delivered to their assignments. Being the last one in the alphabet, Youngdahl climbed aboard last and found all the benches were filled. So he took a seat on the floor, leaning on the back, looking back the way they were traveling. He and Unabia were assigned the furthest outpost, a bridge crossing the training site and were going to be dropped off first.

Bigfoot Field Research Update

This is a research update from my adventures out in the wilds of the eastern Kentucky mountains. This is from two different days. The dates are August 12th and 19th. This post may turn out to be larger than some of my other research updates, as I want to share more pictures and give more details.

This post will also include two short videos.

Indiana UFO - With Video Enhancements

I got the following video and report sent to me a few days ago. This was filmed in Avilla, Indiana on August 11th, 2021.

Annette Crews Hillside Picture - Morton, Washington

It was either 1992 or 1993 when Annette Crews was out hiking and thought she saw a bear coming down an opposite hillside.  As she pulled out her camera to try to get a shot, she suddenly realized the "bear" was walking on two legs.

She took the picture solely to capture this strange bipedal figure coming down the hillside. Unfortunately, the camera had no zoom lens. A series of shots were taken but only two have been evaluated by an independent researcher. This researcher states that they could see definite changes in position from one shot to the next which eliminated a mistaken tree, stump or rock.

Only one of the photos can be viewed on line.

So what does quantum physics have to do with sasquatch? In the case of this thought experiment, perhaps quite a bit.

First a little info for those who aren't familiar with quantum physics, or who has never watched that Big Bang Theory episode. [Or a later one where Penny is explaining it to one of her "dimmer" dates].

The Austrian physicist Erwin Schrodinger devised a hypothesis as follows : A cat is put in a box along with a vial containing cyanide along with a mechanism designed to open that vial at some time in the unknown future. The actual time this will happen cannot be calculated. At some point in time the cyanide gas will be released and the cat will die.

Before anyone gets upset, this was presented as a HYPOTHESIS -- a THOUGHT experiment. It was never actually done. A "what if" exercise.

Bigfoot Hit by Truck

I got the following report submitted to me a few days ago. The event described by the witness took place near Newport, Tennessee. 

Newport is a city in Cocke County, Tennessee. The town is situated along the Pigeon River in an area where the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains descend into the French Broad drainage basins.

Before the arrival of European settlers in 1783, the area that is now Cocke County was probably inhabited by the Cherokee. The county has a total area of 443 square miles with about 9 miles of that being covered with water.

"It stands on two legs, runs on all fours." It even has its own Facebook page with over 2000 members.

There have been sightings of this creature for over a  hundred years. Descriptions of the being vary as much as the explanations. The triangle of Morgan, Etowah, and Jefferson Counties is the 'hotbed' for the reported encounters. Almost all of the reports state that it is 7 to 8 foot tall, covered in white hair, and its screams sound like a woman.

Some report a foul odor like dead animals when the White Thang is around. Some say it looks like a white lion. It's a tall white creature about 7 feet tall with a kangaroo-like body and a cat head. An albino bear. A "hairless pale skinny nimble humanoid". It's a dog. A large ghost-like creature that walks on all fours. An albino sasquatch or bigfoot or yeti. It is an apparition or ghost. And an interdimensional being. An alien humanoid. Some report a red eyeshine.

 Selbyville Swamp Monster

In the 1920's two men hunting raccoons headed into the Great Cypress Swamp with their dogs. Their day became rather frightening for them.

It was when their dogs suddenly froze and their tails  tucked in.

"They heard something screaming, and this horrible noise started coming towards them. Rather than fire on whatever it was, they backed away. Something large and heavy continued to follow them, snapping through the branches as it came." -- Author Andy Nunez in an interview to the "Coastal Point" newspaper.

The "monster" has been most often described as large and hair-covered. Walks on two legs. It has also been said to be a ghost-like image. The deaths of livestock, the disappearance of pets, frightened hunters being chased have all been attributed to the Selbyville Swamp Monster.

Four teenage boys planned on a fun campout on July 9, 1970. They never suspected that within hours of setting up camp, they would flee, frightened of a strange being checking them out.

Some say the story started in the spring and moved into May. Livestock was disappearing from the area, especially hogs. There were numerous disappearances reported from Salem area farms. Then in the last three weeks of May, 24 hogs were gone from the Farmer City, IL area. Three sheep were also found dead. Officials dismissed it as being caused by "wild dogs".

And then July 9th happened.

Kyle Goodrunning and the Traveling Photo

This story begins with the alleged encounter with a bigfoot by a 10 year old Native boy.
In October of 2014, Kyle Goodrunning and his sister [in some accounts] and a cousin [or another cousin when the sister is omitted] decided to go for a walk in the woods. While on this walk, Kyle is said to have looked up and noticed a bigfoot crouching in the brush and trees. He whips out his iPad and takes three photos and then runs. When he looks back while running, the bigfoot is no longer in sight.

Kyle was later interviewed by Kevin Noad and the video shared to his YouTube channel. Well, take a look at the video before I say anything more.

Crazy Bears and Moons Coming Down From the Sky

There are some who will tell you that they believe bigfoot came from the stars. Although to some this seems to be one of the "newer" paranormal theories, stories of tall, hairy creatures and lights in the sky are not something new.

One story that has stuck in my mind during my research into sasquatch is one coming from 1888. [I made a brief reference to it in a post a couple of years ago : "Bigfoot and UFOs in Pennsylvania, part 2" February 16, 2018.] Now I'd like to tell "the rest of the story".

In 1971 the late Brad Steiger [paranormal investigator and author] received a letter from James C. Wyatt of Memphis, Tennessee. Wyatt had in his possession a copy of his grandfather's journal from 1888. In this journal, the grandfather made references to a bigfoot-type creature. Wyatt sent Steiger a copy of the journal.

This is video 3 from my outing on August 5th, 2021. Once again there are some discoveries and some thoughts that are shared with everyone. This should be the final video from this part of the outing. But there are other videos of the gifting area that will be shared at some point and in some way.

As stated in a previous post, I broke this down into 3 videos so they would not run too long. I know it is sometimes easier to watch a short video as opposed to one that is an hour long.

Port Chatham - The Haunted Ghost Town in Alaska

Today's researchers call Port Chatham the town that bigfoot destroyed. But is that true? There is a great deal of history that surrounds this location and it doesn't necessarily mean bigfoot was behind the making of this 'ghost town'.

Let's look at some history of the location and try to put things more in perspective.

First off, the only official name of this location is Portlock. It was named for the British Naval officer Nathaniel Portlock who allegedly came ashore here in 1787. Portlock was established in the early 19th century as a cannery town, mostly dealing with salmon. The population consisted mostly of Russian and Aleuts. There was a chromite mining town nearby named Chrome.

Around 1900 an American firm brought in a fishing fleet and built the cannery. In 1921, Portlock was granted an official post office.

Here is video 2 from my bigfoot field research that I conducted on 8/5/21. Of course, just like almost always, I was alone on my trek through the beautiful but humid mountains of Kentucky. This particular area has been a rather productive area for me over the years.

In the video, I do make some interesting discoveries and offer some commentary about the findings and my bigfoot research in general.

The Loveland Frog

The Loveland Frog [or Loveland Lizard] is one of those creatures that hovers between cryptid and urban legend. And what I thought would be an easy post turned more complicated than I thought.

You see, there are not only the multiple alleged sightings of this creature, but there are multiple versions of the multiple alleged sightings. But let's see if I can make some sense of it all.

The Loveland Frog is listed as one of the cryptids that the state of Ohio is known for. That and the Ohio Grassman [which is a regional name for bigfoot and not one that the rest of the state necessarily uses] and the Minerva Monster [which is another regional name for bigfoot]. Cedar Bog Monster [bigfoot]. Orange Eyes [either bigfoot or an alien]. We share Mothman with West Virginia, who is better known for the creature. We have dogman and the Crosswick Monster [humanoid snake]. And we have the Charles Mills Lake Monster and our own Lake Erie Monster, Bessie.

But back to the Loveland Frog.

 Bigfoot Field Research Video 1

I finally got the time to release the research video from Aug. 5, 2021. I do spend a lot of time in the woods looking for bigfoot evidence and just generally exploring the area. I thought I would continue releasing these videos for those who like them.

I do make a few discoveries that are pretty interesting. Right now I have two main areas that I have been researching hard this summer. One area I normally only go in a few times a year but this year I have gone in there at least once a week for the last two or three months.

Many Vietnam Vets came home from their service telling tales of this aggressive and prolific being.

When I saw the title of the paranormal show this spring that stated they were featuring the Rock Apes, I was impressed. Finally, something new.

Well, no. Despite all the first person stories, all the printed tales, and all the information that could have been featured, it turned into a rehash of the Minnesota Iceman. And one of Hansen's many versions of the story of how he obtained the specimen. YAWN.

Don't get me wrong. The stories surrounding the Minnesota Iceman are intriguing and open up all sorts of lines of inquiry. And I like Loren Coleman. But I cannot agree with him that the Minnesota Iceman is a Rock Ape shot and killed in Vietnam.  But that's for another post. Maybe. Back to the Rock Apes.

Deer People - (part two)

So what are Deer People?

People have offered several solutions and explanations.

The one most offered is mistaken identification. Poor lighting distorts a normal deer. Or large dogs are mistaken for a deer. Many of the sightings involve the deer standing directly in the headlights.

Here's an experience from a South Dakota college student. The student had ended up at the emergency room due to pain and was finally returning back to the dorm, one way trip of around 20 miles. It was 2 am and "Jackie" was feeling sleepy and decided to pull over to the side of the road for a minute or two and try to wake up. 

The Murphysboro Mud Monster

The Murphysboro Mud Monster events started in June of 1973 when a young couple (Randy Needham and Judy Johnson) were parked at a boat launch in Riverside park, next to the Big Muddy River. (The big Muddy River is a 156 mile long river that joins the Mississippi south of Grand Tower.) The two were listening to the radio deciding whether to leave or stay a little longer. Judy's father had forbid her to see Randy, which is why they were parked at this remote location. They were interrupted by the sound of what Randy described as "An Eagle shrieking into a microphone" coming from the bush along the river. Shutting off the radio to listen closer it happened a second time but this time coming with movement in bush in front of them. Randy hit the headlights and the couple saw a large foul smelling creature roughly 8ft tall, light colored hair matted with mud and walking on two legs toward the vehicle. Randy started the car and sped back toward town. After a few minutes of silence between the two they debated on whether or not to make a report to the local police. This was a forbidden romance after all and at the very least would expose them.

When they weighed what had just happened against the possible backlash they would receive for being down there together they headed straight to the police station. 

Possible Dogman Sighting

Here in my little area of Kentucky, we don't get very many dogman reports. This following report comes from our neighboring state of Virginia. The terrain in Virginia is very much like here in Kentucky with lots of mountains, trees and water sources. Which would seem to be an idea place for almost any creature out there.

I got this particular report in a few days ago but I was out of town, so I'm just now getting time to post it. Was this a Dogman? or something else?

Sasquatch Population in the Appalachians – 1600 A.D. to 2021 A.D.

I am Guy Luneau, the 58 year old (here in August 2021) retired chemical engineer from Arkansas who met Thomas Marcum for my first time ever and went into the Bell and Harlan County, Kentucky foothill forests with him on May 18-20, 2021 to search for Sasquatch evidence.  In May and June, Thomas posted the two stories I wrote, and they can be found on this website.  I was stunned to have witnessed the fifty-plus Sasquatch footprints in the mud that we found from at least 6 individual Bigfoots in two locations in just 2 days of poking around in the woods, as well as Bigfoot stick structures and sapling snap-offs that we witnessed.  Sasquatch sign was present in an astonishing abundance – much more than I had ever thought possible when I had asked him to take me on this two-day field trip.  It set my brain to work in ways that I never foresaw putting my brain to work.  Eye-opening.  Riveting.  Tapping into things that I had not seen coming my way.

Deepfakes: Can We Believe What We See On Video?

We can often get triggered by something a certain politician or prominent figure in the world has said, but are we sure they really said it? Are we really sure that everything we’re seeing these days is real?
Deepfakes are becoming more popular and more convincing. So convincing that we can’t really trust what we see anymore. We all need to be very careful of this technology because we’ve been programmed to believe that “seeing is believing.” But today we have to be really careful of believing everything we see and hear. Because technology has become very advanced. More advanced than most of us realize.

Bigfoot Research Trip (7/29/21)

Back out in the woods, once again, for an early morning research trip. On this day trip I would be going to two different locations. This is something I do often and on these hot and humid days, I like to get an early start to the day. On this day by noon time, I had already logged 6 miles and had found a few interesting things. 

Baby Bigfoot Track Castings - Looking At Details

Today I finally got and took the time to clean those baby bigfoot track casting I made about 2 weeks ago. I wanted to show you some of the details of the castings and search them for hairs.

I have found hairs in a previous casting from a couple years ago, so I wanted to check these as well. I did notice while cleaning them there was some hair in the mud.

I got the following possible bigfoot sighting report submitted just a few days ago. I have sent off an email in an effort to get more details but they have not been answered. This could be because the email went to a spam folder and was not seen or a number of other reasons for no reply. I wanted more information as the submitted info is rather brief.

I thought it would be best, seeing as how this is a fresh report, to just go ahead and share the report. If anyone else has seen this, then please let us know.

Possible RAKE Sightings

I got the following email report in a few days ago. Now let me be clear I don't know a whole big lot about the RAKE and I'm assuming some of our readers don't either.

The Rake is a creature believed to be a humanoid in appearance, with several references in folklore and horrific urban legends, originally appearing on the internet on Creepypasta. The creature reportedly attacks humans due to unknown reasons and often causes its victims great psychological trauma.

It was always my understanding that the Creepypasta website was just a home for made up stories with no truth to them. But it appears that people are actually seeing something, whether its a Rake or not, that is very similar to what is described as a Rake.

With that said below is the sighting reports submitted by the witness, along with some pictures.

Animating Photos Part 2

I finally got around to making and posting part 2 of the Animating Photos video. These are often times weird, creepy, and fun all at the same time.

Technology can be fun and amazing sometimes. I would look for this type of software to improve over the next few years.

Way back in 1974 at 4:00 in the afternoon, a Canadian housewife and mother named Dorothy Izzat saw a dancing light in the sky outside her guest room window. After dark that night, through her heavy drapes in the window, she saw another bright light that she thought was the moon at first, but she realized it couldn’t be the moon because it was wobbling.

 She suddenly had the interesting idea to flash a flashlight out the window. She moved the light back and forth and was astounded that the light in the sky mimicked her movement with the flashlight. Little did she know that later that night she would be visited by three “men” who would explain to her what she was being given and what she was being shown. And their message about humanity was profoundly truthful in what we now understand about the mysteries of the world and how reality actually works. They told her of things that are common to hear about now but weren’t even discussed by people in the 1970’s.

Bigfoot Research Trip - Baby Tracks

Is it Bigfoot?

So, today I wanted to share and look at a photo making the rounds on social media. I know some of you may have seen this already but I wanted to offer my opinion, for whats it worth, about it.

This picture, the picture at the top, was posted in a few of the bigfoot groups/pages on Facebook. The best I can remember this was supposedly a possible bigfoot from the UK.

Was it a Thunderbird?

I recently got in this report of a very large bird sighting. I'm not sure what kind of bird the witness saw and described but many might say it was a possible thunderbird. Thunderbirds are a cryptid large bird believed to be a predatory bird, larger and perhaps stronger than known species.

 Another Strange Report From Pine Mountain

We all know that the Pine Mountain range is home to numerous bigfoot sightings. But it is also home to a lot of other strange activities. Everything from ghosts to UFOs and even murders have plagued the mountain range.
