There are many cryptid creatures reported in the state of Ohio. Best known is sasquatch, called bigfoot more commonly, along with a few local names like Grassman. There is also Bessie the Lake Erie Monster, ABC's ('Alien' Big Cats), Thunderbirds, The Loveland Frog or Lizard, Lizard People, the Melonheads, and Mothman. There are also stories of Werewolves and Dogman.
While there may be a chance that the reports of Dogman may be the same or related to the reports of werewolves or a wolfman, this post concentrates on reports of people claiming to see Werewolves.
Dogman is a popular discussion point lately, and I have commented several times, that although I remain on the fence on this topic, I am very aware of legends and stories that discuss the existence of "man-wolf" creatures.
And so comes one of those tales. This particular one concerns the story of the Adlet. Or sometimes referred to as Erqiglet. These legends are most often told among the Inuit of Greenland and the Labrador and Hudson Bay coasts.
Day of Random Thoughts. Today. DOGMAN. What is it? Or is it?
Suddenly it seems lately that you can't go on the internet or check your emails or messages or group posts without seeing something about Dogman. Heck, it's even on the news. Haven't done much in-depth research into the subject. I've read some encounters, read a few articles, and been sent a few photos. Some of it looks hokey, some downright spooky, and some quite compelling. So, how does it connect to the whole Bigfoot picture?
For years we watched Ed McMahon on TV tell us to enter the Publishing House Sweepstakes. We looked at the screen; we saw him. We listened to his voice; we heard him. Well, no. We didn't.
Ed McMahon never worked for Publishers Clearing House. However, he was a spokesman for American Family Publishers. McMahon never went out and ambushed winning families; he never handed them a giant check.
You see, our eyes can deceive us. We look at something and we know what it is. But do we?
Most of us are aware of the report that came out on Sunday September 2nd (2018) of the animal slayings on Eddie Denton's property in the Bill Butler Spur area.
Eddie Denton, property owner says that he was on his way to feed his horses early in the morning when his world changed.
"I just so happened to look down here at the pond because all the ducks were coming up there and I saw that [horse] floating in the pond down there and I thought 'Well my little one got in the pond and drowned down there.'" So Denton looked for the other horses. He found another one of the miniature horses there at the pond and the third lay dead in the stable. Also dead was a husky dog.
The original report mentioned three dead horses, leaving the reader to surmise they were the usual size and type, not miniatures, and claimed two dead dogs. The husky is dead and the pit bull/boxer mix is said to have several wounds but is alive.
The Monroe County Sheriff's office responded to investigate the incident. Their assessment was and still is that the deaths were caused by either a large cat or other large animal.
The Kentucky Fish and Wildlife also arrived to look around and took the bodies to examine. They are stating that the animals' wounds are inconsistent with a large predator attack. At first they said they had no idea as to what could have caused the wounds or launched such an attack. At last report, it is being said that they have now decided that the wounds are gunshot wounds.
The Sheriff still disagrees with their conclusions.
There were some tracks around but somehow not enough to be conclusive.
"One track over there was a bobcat. There is a large track over here, but I'm not an expert on mountain lions. I'll send it to someone else and see what he thinks and I'll know in a day or two what he has to say about that," stated biologist Lynch on Sunday.
Sheriff Dale Ford had this to say that day : "It's got characteristics of a big cat. The puncture wounds, the bites and stuff. If there is a threat, we need to let the people know. I don't know what it is, but I know it's big and I know it's deadly and if it can do that to those horses, it could do a lot to a child or even a grown man. That's my concern."
Denton is said to have put up trail cameras around to try and catch the animal if it comes back.
So where it stands now is Sheriff vs. Kentucky Fish and Wildlife. Many have come forward and said they do not trust the Wildlife people to release the truth of what happened. They believe they will cover up the truth in order to keep the people from panicking. It is said that they are still denying that there are big cats in the state even though countless residents have reported seeing them and have proof on various trail cameras and other film.
So now I move on to what people are saying around the country.
Some, like the Wildlife people, have dismissed the cougar or mountain lion theory. They say that the animal would never take on two adult dogs (nowhere have I read the age or size of the dogs) and full grown horses (miniature horses, not regular sized horses and again, no mention of age or size).
Others say it must be humans. Or Canadian Wolves. Idaho grey wolf. Coyote. Pack of wild dogs.
And they say not a Black Bear because a bear would not take the risk or waste the energy.
And, of course, we come to the ones who are shouting out BIGFOOT!
We have the theory of the "revenge killing". That the bigfoot is angry for some reason; perhaps because someone in Denton's household was feeding them and then stopped. So they got angry and came in and killed his animals.
And they are answered by those who say that a bigfoot would not have done this as revenge. That if it were angry for whatever reason with a human that they would go after the human. After all, haven't there been lots of stories of a bigfoot going on killing sprees against humans? (No, not in my experience. It seems to be a Hollywood thing with the revengeful bigfoot attacking and killing humans.)
Others argue that it would not have been just a 'pleasure" killing by bigfoot because they need a good reason to just come in and kill. They don't kill for sport. (Well, that is comforting to know. Guess they are on a level higher than humans after all. )
And then, last but not least, we have the ones who say it is a pack of dogmen.
Well, there you have the story as far as I know it. I think that officials are praying and hoping that the story dies down, as they continue to whitewash the event and try to blame it on humans and ignore the evidence that appears to point towards some sort of animal attack. Sheriff Ford states that there is no evidence at this time that humans are involved in the deaths of the animals.

Have you had a close encounter or witnessed something unusual?
Last night was our second live episode of Mysteries Unlimited. I had to fly solo for the show as co-host Leo Frank, was unable to make it. Hopefully, Leo will be back for the next show.
Last night we had Justin Decker as a special guest and we talked about his life living in the Amazon and his study of cryptids. It was a very informative and entertaining show that I think most people will enjoy.
For those who did not watch live, or just want to watch again, here is last night's show.
"I don't care if you believe me or not." Witness to the creature called Dogman, or Werewolf. In the autumn of 2013, the witness had not only one encounter but had a second sighting of an unusual, frightening being.
The witness was working night shifts at the time which meant he had to travel the dark roads in the sighting area on a regular basis. One night as he was traveling down Johnson Road, which borders Silver Creek Metro Park, he abruptly stopped his car as two deer raced across the road heading south. What he saw pursuing them was attention-grabbing.
"I would place them somewhere between 6'6" and 7' tall. They chased the two deer (which were both smaller, by the way) out across the street and into the woods. They ran [in formation] . . . one in front, two behind, kind of next to each other. They were roughly 30-40 yards behind the deer. They were bipedal, very muscular, and fast; lightning fast. It all happened in just a few seconds. I couldn't describe any features, unfortunately; I'm assuming it was either a new moon or cloudy because it was very dark, but they were definitely a dark color . . . maybe a chocolate brown or a black color."
He was questioned if perhaps what he saw was a bigfoot. There are many reported sightings of them in Ohio. Said the witness : "They say that bigfoot has long arms that swing when it runs, and it runs like a human. Whatever these were, they weren't bigfoot. I can't describe how they moved, but they didn't move like a person."
It was only a couple of weeks later when the witness was again heading home on Johnson Road. As he was driving past a cornfield, something ran out in front of his car.
"The fields had full-grown cornstalks, but I don't know the exact heights only that the cornstalks were taller than me by a head and I'm 6 feet tall. This time, [my sighting of two creatures] was a quick flash because there was no open land to it. They basically leaped the road as they broke the corn and landed about 10-15 feet into the field on the other side and kept running. This time, the pair that I saw in the moonlight, the first was black and the second was black with white or silver on its chest and back . . . Since the first three I saw were all a solid color, that means there must be at least four different creatures."

Have you had a close encounter or witnessed something unusual?
I got the following report in a few days ago of a possible dogman sighting in the Totz community of Harlan county. After gathering a little more information and looking at the area on google maps the report is ready to share.
I should also say that this is an area I'm generally familiar with and travel near or through on occasions.
Here is the report and my email exchange with the witness.
Here in my little area of Kentucky, we don't get very many dogman reports. This following report comes from our neighboring state of Virginia. The terrain in Virginia is very much like here in Kentucky with lots of mountains, trees and water sources. Which would seem to be an idea place for almost any creature out there.
I got this particular report in a few days ago but I was out of town, so I'm just now getting time to post it. Was this a Dogman? or something else?
I got this report in a couple days ago. It is a brief sighting and report but I wanted to share in with everyone. My hope is that someone else possibly saw this creature in or around this same area and can shed some light on just what it was.
Today we look at the Beast of Seven Chutes. The photo was taken on June 1, 2005, in Quebec, Canada. Unknowingly the photographer captured an upright humanoid figure in the shot. Many think this could be a dogman and also believe the creature is carrying a small dog.
We have put together a short video with various details, numerous images, and enhancements. Narrations were provided by TCC's Jason Morse
Well, this is an odd one for sure. During a live Facebook feed a strange and weird figure was filmed in a person's backyard. Apparently, they had seen this, whatever it is, before and were shaken up by it.
I have taken a very small clip from the broadcast and attempted to slow it down and enhance it. Many are talking about it on social media. Some say it is a dogman others say it is a werewolf. Some say it is a demon or ghost. When I first saw it I thought it was a ghost or a spirit...and it may be.

Its not very often that we get Dogman sighting reports submitted to us, but we recently did get a report. The report was sent in to us by Violet and the sighting happened right here in Kentucky.
There are some interesting details in the story that lends to the idea that Dogman is a rather aggressive creature.
According to reports, Dogman has been spotted in 38 of 50 US states. It is often reported to have aggressive behavior but attacks are rare. According to Dogman researcher Vic Cundiff, "Less than 1% of the eyewitnesses
who have shared their encounters with me claimed to have been attacked
by the Dogman they encountered."
What follows is the message/report sent to me via Facebook Messenger and my replies.
A few days ago I got an interesting submission in my email. While I have many questions about what happened, I still find the report intriguing. I emailed back and forth with the person to get a little more information. I know many of you will probably find the story unbelievable but I wanted to share it to see if anyone else has had something similar happen.
Some of us are old enough to remember when information presented by certain sources was widely accepted as fact. People barely questioned the validity of the information and no one argued about it, least of all, publicly. Any information distributed by journalists, scientists, and other known experts was accepted by the masses because those sources were considered trustworthy. But that is no more. And we’re all left arguing and grappling with the truth. But why is this? Why can’t we know the truth? Why has the search for information become so difficult?
In the age of endless information, our sense of trust has definitely been broken by a giant wave of deception in all aspects of our reality. Too many people have been caught in too many lies. And in this Great Awakening where people are now questioning everything they’ve been told (with good reason), to all the information out there, there are now loads of counter information. And we’re messing up in our search for the truth. But why?
So, a few days ago I ran across this image on social media. The best I can recall I have never seen the image before, so this got my curiosity up and I had to start researching it. In the photograph we see what appears to be a human shaped figure lying on the ground.
Some think it could possibly be a Bigfoot waiting or watching the people taking the picture. Others think that the figure is more in line with the paranormal and think it could be a demon. A few have also suggested it could be a Dogman.
Adding to the creep factor is the fact there is a missing persons flyer posted on the rock wall.
I was able to track down some information about the image and later traced down a video explaining it in even more detail.
This report comes our way thanks to our good friend Holly Mullins. As some of you may know Holly is an Intuitive Healer along with several other talents. She also does numerous events and this presents her with the opportunity to meet and talk with a lot of people. She recently talked with a gentleman who had a harrowing experience.
The man has never told his story to the public and Holly was only the second person he had ever told. He also wishes to remain anonymous and for this report, we will just call him Pete.
The event described below happen at Elk Mountain in North Carolina.
I noticed today that there is a rash of Bigfoot videos being posted on social media, namely Facebook. Some of these are ones I have never seen before or must have missed.
So, I thought I would take a little time to share some of them with you. One particular video is one I had a chance to work on and I will share some information about it.
Of course, some of the videos are better than some of the others but that is just part of it.
Lets take a look at some of them.
As some of you may know, I recently set up at the Crypto Con in Harlan Kentucky. During this event I was able to talk to a lot of people. I was able to talk to several witnesses who had sightings or found possible evidence. While some of the reports may not contain all the details, I think some of them have enough information to go ahead and document the event.
So, today I want to share a possible Dogman sighting that was reported to me during the event.
