New Controversy Surrounding the Patterson-Gimlin Film

Another day and another controversy in the bigfoot world. Once again it involves the famous Patterson-Gimlin footage of the female bigfoot filmed in 1967. I will attempt to give a short rundown, but to get the full grasp you will need to watch the video below. Reportedly,  Russell Acord has a taped confession from Gimlin admitting the footage is fake. According to what I've heard, the confession is to be released upon Gimlin's death. What makes this interesting is that Acord is a promoter/handler of Bob Gimlin and sets up appearances at events.

I offer some closing comments below the video.

Looks like the Todd Standing hoax has been exposed (again). First it's his silly looking, glassed eyed bigfoot that Sweaty Yeti at Bigfoot Forums has proven to have been photoshopped (See above photo) and now his other bigfoot photo, which most people loved, has been debunked by Para Breakdown in the video below.  A very good effort from Sweaty Yeti and Para Phil. Nice job guys!

(If for some reason this video does not play Click Here! )
Now, this was all starting to get a big following despite what anyone could shows or say about Standing's history and background. It all had a smell of the Rick Dyer hoax, it's about the money. The fact Todd and his sister, Louise Standing own a production company and many other warning signs pointed out by Steve Kulls, made no difference in a lot of peoples minds. They would say "oh but he is teamed up with Les Stroud", well, if Les is truly interested in Bigfoot he could not have chosen a worse person to team up with.

Rick and his Bigfoot
Rick and Hank

This post by Thomas Marcum, Thomas is the founder/leader of the cryptozoology and paranormal research organization known as The Crypto Crew. Over 20 years experience with research and investigation of unexplained activity, working with video and websites. A trained wild land firefighter and a published photographer, and poet.

I know some people may end up not liking this post, but in a weird sort of way I think we should be thanking Rick Dyer. First, lets be totally clear, Rick Dyer is by far one of the best hoaxers of all time, he is a excellent promoter and can tell outrageous stories with a straight face.

Now that Chris Russell has come out and admitted that he was hired by Dyer to make the dead bigfoot known as Hank, there should be no doubt the bigfoot in the travel trailer is not real.
All the while Dyer still continues to bob and weave by telling some truths and making some questionable statements, but has admitted that Hank is a prop.

So why should we be thankful to Dyer? Well there is some obvious reason that any blogger can tell you as to why we can all thank Dyer and that would be for lots of web traffic and a continuous steam of material to write about but that is not what I think is the most important thing we should be thanking Dyer for.

We should be thanking Dyer for exposing these "Bigfoot Experts" as the phonies they are. Just look at some of the people, some of which are still supporting the story, that stood by Dyer, Hank and the many false claims. These "Bigfoot experts", the people who claim to know more about bigfoot than any one on the planet, have written numerous books, produced numerous videos, attended numerous speaking engagements, been on TV shows and have a large loyal following of supporters. They have now proven they know nothing about bigfoot.

These so called "bigfoot experts" have duped most of the people of  the bigfoot community for years now. It is now safe to say that some of these "bigfoot experts" do not even go out in the woods, they sit in their backyards and watch the quarter acre of woods between their house and the next door neighbors. They have never seen a bigfoot, never found a track but yet have conned people into buying their books and supporting them. So thank you, Rick Dyer, through your hoax you have hopefully helped others finally realize the fake and phony "bigfoot experts" that seem to thrive in the bigfoot community.

No matter what we do there will always be fakes and hoaxes from time to time but these people who have hardcore supported the Hank Prop have proven they actually don't know and in some cases may not even believe in bigfoot, they should never be supported again.

So why we of course can blame Rick Dyer, lets not forget he has had many noted people from the bigfoot community helping in this large scale hoax. Lets not forget their statements and their involvement in helping this hoaxing money machine roll on down the road for well over a year.

Now, I know we all make mistakes and we sometimes get fooled but once we learn different we stop and correct ourselves, we don't hide behind fake names and phony accounts. If you're honest and truthful, keeping the story straight should not be a problem.

Also a thanks should go to Chris Russell for coming out and telling the truth. He was not part of the bigfoot community until he was hired to make Hank. He should not be shunned as this is his profession to make stuff.

Here is his interview.

LM: Ok guys. here it is. One thing Chris Russell did want me to say, is that he wanted this to be copied, shared, or whatever, with his exact words. Please don’t edit it at all. Thanks!
I sent him questions via email and he worked on the answers while working in his shop.
CR: This is part of the mold for Hank. He was sculpted in WED clay to look like " and old, poorly made taxidermy prop" per clients request.

This is what is left of the plaster mold. The rest of it went to the dumpster. Latex is the yellow color seen in the photo in the mold. I will pull out the casting of hanks face tonight and send photos.

HANK was made of polyfoam filled latex with latex paints and red camel hair glued on… intentionally to look like an "old poorly made taxidermy of a bigfoot nearly 8 feet tall and 4 feet wide at shoulders" at clients request to tour the country while filming of a movie for film studio I will not publicly name at this time.

I signed non disclosure agreements with Dyer LLC to keep this a secret until the code word PROJECT FOOTPRINT was said. I was only to answer phone calls from a number listed in my phone as project footprint.
The email correspondent during the project also gave that code word. Last night in a live audio / video chat revealing the truth behind "the hoax" Rick Dyer said that he cannot reveal the maker of the prop because they wish to remain anonymous I spoke up and said the code word and Rick spoke the code word and identified myself as the maker of the body known as Hank the bigfoot.
I was the person who told Rick from the beginning that I did not want to be involved in the film, credited for the prop building, leaked to media, or on camera for the film crew filming everything. I specifically requested no film crew at my studio on pick up day and that only two people come, Rick himself and one helper.
He contacted me last year inquiring about having a prop bigfoot body made. I did not know him or his name prior to the phone call. He asked about different styles of props and I discussed options and prices for his body from realistic silicone and punched hair to the flat back prop with glued hair that was chosen.
Within a couple of days of Rick picking up the body I began hearing internet buzz and news reports on Rick and his story.
Rick did send me drawings and images of bigfoot and asked me to recreate certain features in his prop like facial features, fur, feet etc..
Many of the features explained in your question were intended by myself, although some were just happy accidents due to the nature of casting latex and foam.
When Rick inquired about the prop he did ask if I could have it finished in December 2013. I accepted the job knowing I was booked on current projects that would be finished to allow time for Ricks project.
I was paid and put the job on the project board in the shop. Once I started the project it was sculpted, molded , cast, painted and haired within two weeks. Rick did not rush me, I agreed to finish the job by a certain time and I did.
Project footprint is the code word that Rick Dyer and myself used to communicate about the project. There was an agreement because of the top secret nature of the prop that we neither of us would speak to anyone about this unless the code word project footprint was spoken unless this was said I was to keep everything a secret and never admit involvement.
My phone had a phone number listed under project footprint that Rick would call me from and I also received emails with the code word project footprint and information about the project. Rick had initially said that we needed a code word to know if it was okay to talk about this and project footprint was my suggestion.
Rick did have one person with him who came into my studio and did see the prop knowing it was fake. I asked Rick to only bring one person into my studio with him and I was introduced to the person although at this point I do not remember his name but I believe that person to be Lynk according to his description.

Rick and his associate came into the basement of my studio and I lifted the body made of latex and poly foam by myself and took it upstairs where Rick and his associate put it into the box added curtains around the edge of the box and the three of us pushed the box down the driveway into the back of his "Rick Dyer see bigfoot inside " trailer that was parked in front of my studio
LM: Although Rick has confessed to having the body made, he still claims he has at least one Bigfoot body…somewhere. Did he ever tell you, during any of your conversations, that he DID kill a Bigfoot?
CR: Rick has maintained throughout all of our correspondence that he did indeed kill a real Bigfoot yet needed a prop body to take on tour so that the real Bigfoot would not be stolen.

Picture of Rick Dyer
(*Note that all parties are presumed innocent until judged in a court of law.)

October 7th, 2011 Ricky Traylor Chuck Dyer, seen here pn LookWhoGotBusted.com, was arrested out of
Benton County, Arkansas for theft of property greater that $500.
Benton County, Arkansas - Rick Dyer over the past few days has made again the claim that he, Matt Whitton and another party had a Bigfoot body, dragged it out of the forest before it was taken by government officials dressed in black.
He also threw the notion out that Steve Kulls, again was involved in the hoax, after extolling Steve for the past three years. In a bold move, on the evening of December 27th, 2011 Steve, interviewed Matt Whitton about Rick's statements.

Update From Robert Lindsay Blog - Preliminary Data Results!

(DISCLAIMER THE VIEWS EXPRESSED BY ROBERT LINDSAY DO NOT NECESSARILY REFLECT THOSE OF THIS PAGE OR THE CRYPTO HUNTERS.)

Bigfoot News November 21, 2011

Nuclear DNA: As I promised in an earlier post, we can now release preliminary data on Bigfoot nuclear DNA from Dr. Melba Ketchum’s DNA study. Three samples were tested for nuclear DNA, and we have results from all three. Testing subsequently concluded that all three samples tested positive for Bigfoot on DNA. I believe at least one of the samples was Larry Jenkins’ Bigfoot toenail.
We have results for a single gene, the MC1R gene. According to Wikipedia, MC1R is one of the key proteins involved in regulating mammalian skin and hair color. In fact, in this study it was considered the “hair color” gene for practical purposes. The default Bigfoot hair color, which was the same in all three copies, is “red.” That could mean “auburn.”

As the Bigfoot World Turns - A big Update From Robert Lindsay Blog -

(DISCLAIMER THE VIEWS EXPRESSED BY ROBERT LINDSAY DO NOT NECESSARILY REFLECT THOSE OF THIS PAGE OR THE CRYPTO HUNTERS.)

(This is NOT Robert Lindsay but the China bigfoot picture)

Bigfoot News November 17, 2011

Here is Richard Stubstad’s response to Steve Kulls’ nutty blog post from this summer. It was previously posted on Mary Green’s website. Mary Green is one of the few honorable people in this Bigfoot scene.

Truth is that not a single one of Kulls’ bizarre charges against Stubstad or me is true. Not even one. Kulls attempts to take sides in a personal matter between Stubstad and Ketchum and between Java Bob, Stubstad and Ketchum. Fallings out happen all the time in life. Why? Who knows? Why take sides? Why bother? Why line up with one side or the other?
The basic charge, that Biscardi is using Stubstad and me to try to wreck Ketchum’s DNA study, is simply bizarre. Biscardi worked on her study. In fact, Tom worked harder on this study than almost any other researcher, including Mr. Kulls. Ketchum needed people to run around the country picking up samples and delivering them to her. She put the call out, but the illustrious “researcher” community was utterly silent. Only Tom Biscardi would step up to the plate, and he did the job commendably.

Ketchum also threw one of her best friends off the project, an excellent female geneticist. Ketchum did this because she is insecure and was worried that this woman was showing her up by knowing what she was doing too much. Why is Ketchum always the good guy and all of the wreckage, flotsam and jetsam she leaves discarded in her wake automatically the bad guys? I don’t get it.

A recent interview conducted by Steve Kulls of Squatchdetective.com took a serious turn as retired forest ranger Charles Branson from Honobia, Oklahoma told some shocking news.

Charles claims to have been interacting with a bigfoot for many years on his property. Once the word got out, several Bigfoot organizations began to contact him.
During his interview with Steve, Charles had spoken of the BFRO as being the organization he allowed to do research on his property. That is until this past July 4, 2011.
It would seem that at least one researcher was involved with an shooting incident on that day.
Apparently after sighting a Bigfoot, the researcher, who was packing a AK-47 Rife decided it would be a good idea to shoot at the creature.

Here is the transcript Q&A from that interview:
Last night on the Squatch Detective radio show, Steve Kulls’ guest was retired forest ranger Charles Branson of Honobia, Oklahoma.
Charles claims to have had interactions with bigfoots on his property for many, many years. The activity was such on his land that several organizations became interested in researching the area.
The individuals were always honest and upfront with Charles and for the past 10 years he has allowed them to place trail cams on what is discreetly known as “Area X”.

Members of the organization are required to pay dues and to commit “service hours” for the organization. One of the chores required of certain members is to go to “Area X” and replace the cards and batteries on the trail cameras.

Charles had no problem with the researchers using his property until this past July 4th, when the organization’s mission turned into more than just research.
One of the researchers caught sight of a bigfoot creature and took off in pursuit firing his AK 47 assault rifle with the intent to kill.
This organization and others, is often turning to the public pleading for donations to further their “research”. If the organization has changed its original mission statement and have changed their stance from a “no-kill” to a “pro-kill” operation, then their donors should be made aware of this new practice.

The following has been transcribed from the Squatch Detective radio show last night:
At the 12:57 minute mark:

Steve: Have you ever gotten anybody that’s ever come forward with a video to you, that, that you feel was a legitimate video?
Charles: Oh, we had some, uh.. We were letting some BRFO researchers from Oklahoma and Texas use our cabin facilities for the past ten years and they kept game cameras out all the time.
At the 15:15 minute mark:
Charles: We had a 4th of July incident in this area that I’m telling you about. It’s OK to expand on it?
Steve: Sure…
Charles: … researcher was actually shooting at one, trying to kill it with an AK-47. (unintelligible)
So we stopped them from using our facilities because, we know those folks are there, we don’t want them bothered. They’re non-violent, and we’ve watched them, ya know, for years, their habits and everything.
And uh, he was actually trying to kill one. And was honest enough to admit it. Which I admire, because there’s not one in ten million that would admit that.
At the 27:10 mark:
Charles: …they change seasonal their fur, just like other wildlife does.
And like this one, the 4th of July incident, uh, this fella said this one was about six and a half, seven foot tall.
He had light brown hair on his shoulders and up around his neck, real light brown and the rest of him was dark.
At the 52:43 minute mark.
Steve: Charles, you have such an appreciation for these things. Um, um, you…
Charles: They’re wonderful people.
Steve: And uh, it seems like you’ve had more than one run in with these guys. It seems like you’ve almost had a nice relationship with them.
Charles: Yes, and they know it.
Steve: Now do they recognize people after a time, spell of time?
Charles: I think so. Spiritually I think they do. They’re super smart. And uh, they, they can just feel…
And also, for your information, I’ve had… If you ever attack one, you better be careful, because they don’t forget it.
Steve: Ha ha, ha… I guess not. Now have you ever known anyone to have ever attacked one or…?
Charles: Well I just told you about the 4th of July this year tried to kill one with an AK-47.
But when we go to the cabins, this hunting season, we’re gonna have to be extra careful and communicate with them fellas. Ya know, let ‘em know that wasn’t us pulling that trigger.
We live… They’re wonderful. I just wish everybody could learn to appreciate ‘em more. And uh, I respect any person’s right to not believe. But I also expect the same respect on my beliefs, ya know.
Steve: Now Charles, Charl…
Charles: If everybody could work together and stop the ridicule, just learn from each other then we could really move on with this thing.
And then at the 56:12 minute mark
Steve: Now the person trying to cap one with the AK-47, was that, that wasn’t at your property was it?
Charles: Yes it was.
Steve: Ok, so now…
Charles: For ten years. we have give them permission to use the cabins because every so many months they go change their cameras out, see… And they was studying their habits, researching’. Uh, in fact, I’ve been there with them when they’ve played their recordings and get callbacks from ‘em. I mean, it’s the real deal.
But, we don’t want them bothered, ya know. Well, that’s it.
Steve: (unintelligible) but no guns…
At the 57:57 minute mark
Steve: Now, I have another question, and this goes back to the AK-47 incident, and that struck a political cord with some folks, and I’m gonna go ahead and honor the question.
Was there a particular group that was associated with this AK-47 incident?
Charles: Well, uh, it’s BRFO, but I will not mention no names.
Steve: OK.
Charles: Because, the person has been extremely honest. And admitted it…
Steve: It wasn’t the Texas group, or was it the Texas group?
Charles: Well Oklahoma and Texas both work together.
Steve: Gotcha. Gotcha. Well, that answers that question I suppose.
Steve: You sure it was the BFRO and not the, uh, next question, used to be the, gotcha Craig…
Charles: Well that’s what they claim, but it could not be, ya know there’s several splinter groups that says BRFO. I don’t know whether it’s official or not.
Steve: Is it possible that it could have been a group called the TRBC? Is it possible that you mixed those two up.
Charles: I’m not for sure (unintelligible) BRF…
You can listen to the archived show here: Squatch Detective Radio Show-Guest Charles Branson
For the record, the BFRO is not to be implicated in this story in any way. Mr. Branson was not sure of all of the letters in the acronym.

UPDATE:  The TBRC has identified themselves as the offending party!
