The Origin Of Bigfoot: An Alternative Theory
Nephilim? Or Something Else Entirely?

By Dorraine Fisher

Those of us immersed in the study of bigfoot and their possible origins have heard some pretty wild theories...and some pretty interesting and even reasonable ones. And I like to look at all of them and decide if there’s anything logical there we can all use in every one.

Some like to believe bigfoot is a modern version of the once believed extinct ape, gigantopithecus. Some believe them to be fellow humans, especially in light of current claims by Dr. Melba Ketchum and the Sasquatch Genome Project. And others take a more biblical stance and believe them to be the giant fallen angels of the Old Testament. The Nephilim. The offspring of union between The Sons of God and the Daughters of Man. To atheists, this theory isn’t even worth mentioning. But I think all theories may be relevant to a bigger picture. At any rate, we shouldn’t ignore them until all questions have been answered satisfactorily.

So here goes.

According to the story in Genesis 6:4, the sons of God who occupied Canaan were checking out human women, or daughters of men there and liked what they saw. And they mated with them, thus creating the offspring disagreeable to God, forever known as the Nephilim, or fallen ones. They were considered to be fallen angels, and curiously, giants. And the claim that they were described as giants causes some bigfoot believers to believe they were, in fact, the ancestors of our modern day bigfoot.
And it’s an important question to ask. But this theory has always bothered me. If bigfoot is the product of this union, how did this offspring of gods and humans become this hairy beast witnesses claim to have seen around the world? And if these beings were fallen angels; troublemakers of sorts, then why aren’t they making themselves known and wreaking havoc everywhere to this day? These quiet, shy, reclusive creatures are hiding from us very well and causing no problems at all for the human race. So, though I always say that I don’t ask anyone to replace their own ideas with mine, this story just doesn’t work for me.

But there’s another one that might. And it comes from my previous discussions about Intervention Theory.

Intervention theory is based on the interpretations of linguist and researcher Zecharia Sitchins who first cracked the code of the ancient Sumerian texts and attempted to tell the world this controversial story of human creation based on these texts.

Sitchins tells the story of the Annunaki who occupied Iraq some 250,000 years ago. They were beings that had come here from another planet known as Nibiru looking for the gold they needed to fix their atmosphere.

But they found this mining for gold here to be tedious, and they didn’t like doing it. So they proposed an idea to use their own DNA to genetically manipulate the very unimpressive hominids that already occupied the planet, believed by some to be homoerectus, and make workers out of them for mining the gold. If this story is in fact true, these beings they needed to create would have to be controllable, have good manual dexterity, just intelligent enough to do the work, but not so intelligent as to cause problems for them or question their authority. And they needed to be able to breed on their own.
And so, it is said, the Annunaki got to work in the lab, manipulated some DNA and created us. And they called us Adamu, which is curiously close to the name Adam in the bible.

But where does bigfoot come in?

Part of the reason I rejected nephilim theory is because I think it’s necessary to weigh the information afforded by every source available. Not just one. And part of the reason I reject nephilim theory is due to Native American legends of Sasquatch. Many native stories refer to Sasquatch as “our brother.” And they claim that sasquatch was here first. Before us. If you aspire to the idea that there may be a lot of truth in legends, and if there is any truth to Native American legends about these creatures, then it blows nephilim theory out of the water. If they (bigfoot) were here before us, there is no way they could have been the product of any human/demi-god hybridization. And if they are “our brother,” then that suggests, curiously, that we have the same parents.

Recent DNA findings about Bigfoot suggest that the maternal side of the DNA of these beings is made up of human DNA, while the nuclear DNA  is completely unknown to us, or curiously referred to as “alien” DNA.

In parallel, humans also have DNA that can’t be matched up to any other creature on this planet. Once called junk DNA, it is now often referred to as, you guessed it, alien DNA. So we’re both pretty much made up of the same stuff. Human and alien.

So, are these creatures, in fact, our brothers as Native American legends claim?

Let’s contemplate a possible scenario.

If the so-called “gods” or aliens were experimenting with DNA in a lab trying to create the perfect worker to mine their gold, is it reasonable to assume they might not have been really experienced in creating exactly what they wanted the first time. Is it reasonable to imagine they might have made a few errors along the way before they believed they created the perfect product?

Did one of those errors result in the bigfoot creature we know today?

These experiments could have created many different types of hybrids before they came up with the results they were looking for. And if we think about what they were trying to accomplish with these experiments, bigfoot would have been all wrong for the task. Yes, they had the strength, but they may have been a little too far on the wild side. Too much the free spirits and children of nature, and perhaps even much too intelligent to be tied to manual labor. And, most importantly, they may have lacked the manual dexterity required to operate the tools needed to do mining work.

And we might even be able to imagine the “gods” created a fair number of these beings before realizing they were all wrong. And their free spirits combined with their super strength and intelligence may have caused them to escape off into the forest and hide from all of us forever. Never to be enslaved again.

Sasquatch are assigned so many different inexplicable abilities. Does the theory that they are half “god” make these more plausible?

But if they are half-god, then so are we.

And I think it’s also important to mention that I maintain our human-like ancestors such as Neanderthals and homoerectus were probably covered in hair, contrary to what science has always told us. There is no real evidence to support the existence of a hairless hominid. I believe it may be the alien side of our DNA that makes us hairless, because hairlessness serves no purpose for us in the real world... unless we aren’t entirely of this world. But scientists are still trying to come up with a plausible explanation for the hairlessness. At any rate, this union could have caused a hairless alien/hair-covered homoerectus hybridization to result in a very tall, very hairy offspring like a bigfoot-type creature, every bit as easily as it could have resulted in a smaller, hairless creation like us.

(Check out this video: 6 Reason to wonder if human aren't of this world)

Just like the offspring of two different races that can produce a child of one color and a second child of the other color, are we humans and sasquatches just two different types of children from the same parents?

The Annunaki were believed by humans to be gods. Or at least they seemed like gods to the simple-minded early humans describing them at the time. They were said to be 8 to 10 feet tall and have the ability to shapeshift and do other things humans deemed magical. It’s also possible they spoke telepathically, and they were said to have commanded some amazing technology. And the Sumerian texts, according to Sitchins, tell the story of how they created us.

Sasquatches are believed by some to possess abilities that may seem paranormal or alien to us. But do they (sasquatches) believe the same thing about us humans? Does our technology and reckless behavior with our resources remind them of the so-called gods that may be our creators. Maybe sasquatches avoid us so strongly because they associate us with our Annunaki creators that occupied the planet so long ago and created us in their image. Maybe our appearance scares them so much that they’ve adapted some amazing skills to avoid us. Or maybe those skills were unintended gifts from our creators.

Dr. Ketchum and the DNA study
Bigfoot Tracks

Over the last couple of days there has been a flurry of debates and down right fights over the recent media blitz of the Dr. Ketchum Bigfoot DNA Study. While there are educated people on both side of Ketchum's DNA study there seems to be a bigger "debate" over the famous Matilda video footage.

The Matilda footage is from Adrian Erickson and the footage was reportedly filmed in my home state of Kentucky.
Here is a quick look at the footage, courtesy of Bigfoot Evidence Blog.

Dr. Melba Ketchum on Coast to Coast AM Show

Joining George Knapp, Dr. Melba S. Ketchum discussed her DNA analysis of possible Bigfoot hair samples, which was leaked to the public before the publication of her peer-reviewed paper. She reviewed her background as a veterinarian, years of research in genetics, including forensics, and her founding of the company DNA Diagnostics in 1985. She also addressed controversies that have been stirred up in the Bigfoot research community about her findings. Part of the problem, she explained, was that some non-ethical people became involved in her project, though none of their research was ever incorporated into her final paper.

Angels, Aliens, And Bigfoot
What Is The “Unknown Primate” In The DNA Study?
By TCC Member Dorraine Fisher
DNA Questions
It now seems pretty clear there are some major discrepancies in Dr. Ketchums DNA information.  It suggests that some union took place no more than 15,000 years ago between humans and some “unknown primate” to produce the creature we know as sasquatch or bigfoot.  But we’ve clarified that production of fertile offspring between two different species isn’t possible. So what is this “unknown primate.” Given the information we have, the unknown primate would have had to have been some type of human.
Some argue that this can’t be true because we humans have Neanderthal in our DNA makeup. And if that’s the case, then, at some point, interbreeding must have taken place between humans and neanderthals (supposed non-human). But due to similarities in DNA structure, the debate rages on with paleoanthropologists about whether Neanderthals should be reclassified as a type of homo sapiens (humans). The belief among many is that Neanderthals ARE human. Perhaps even enough to have interbred with our ancestors and produced successful, fertile offspring.
Dr. Ketchum claimed to have compared the DNA of her unknown hominid to the DNA of both Neanderthals and Denisovans and that the DNA of her hominid is different. But such a comparison would require nuclear DNA from both of them, which is, from what I’m being told, unavailable. Nuclear DNA is much harder to preserve. Extracting it from a fossil is not likely. And extracting enough of it for replication such as this would be nearly impossible.
So can we be absolutely sure of what this “unknown primate” is not?  Can the “unknown primate” be determined at all?
Earlier this year, a skull that had been found in northwest Mexico in Copper Canyon was determined to have a DNA structure that matched no other on earth. It was called the Star Child.  Humans share at least a small percentage of their DNA structure with every creature on earth, but the Star Child shares none. The Star Child’s DNA was determined to be “not of this world.”
But how does this weigh in to the debate? There’s a possibility it has nothing to do with anything. But Dr. Ketchum leaving this gigantic hole in the story leaves us all to speculate. With all this talk about aliens, and angels swirling around this subject, and no real confirmation of what the DNA does or doesn’t reveal outside of the human factor, what could be going on here?
If you’re one of those people, like me, that might allow your imagination to wander a bit, and if you believe there are great mysteries out there that may never be proven or disproven by science, there could be many possibilities.
Angel or alien “DNA,” as has been suggested, could be something like a DNA extracted from a creature like the Star Child, not of this world, or not entirely of this world. In order for this supposed hybridization to take place to create a sasquatch, all that has to have happened was a human interbreeding with another being that was close enough to human to get the job done and produce fertile offspring to carry on the line.
It could have been a Neanderthal, or Denisovan, since they are considered human enough to interbreed and since that can’t be disproven as far as we know.  Or it could be some other unknown primate, possibly extinct now, or some lost tribe of humans. OR it could be a being completely unknown to us, or “not of this world” much like the Star Child. Some other forces could have come into play here that can’t be readily understood without more study; things that are not yet known by science. In that context, the whole alien and angel possibility starts to become more viable. And until we have concrete facts on the table to explain exactly what a sasquatch is, nothing can really be discounted.
Dr. Jeffrey Meldrum released a statement saying the release of this information was premature but precipitated by other leaked information. And he appealed to all of us to wait and see what the final results will reveal.  So maybe Dr. Ketchum felt she had no choice in the matter, and maybe this will be cleared up in due time. We can only hope.
We’re also hoping the upcoming results from the Sykes DNA Project will be revealed soon and will clarify this and close the debate once and for all.  But, given what we’ve all been through in waiting for this study to come to fruition, we’re only cautiously optimistic. *******DF

Indigenous people
Bigfoot DNA Results - Indigenous People?

With all the DNA statements and posts flying around, there has been a whirlwind of activity, excitement, and speculation on what it all means.
A statement by Russian researcher Igor Burtsev got the DNA ball back rolling so to speak. His original statement got Dr. Ketchum to respond but Igor's later statement has gone somewhat under the radar.
Here is part of what Igor's recent statement said:

"We waited a couple of years for the scientific publication by Dr. Melba Ketchum. But scientific magazines refuse to publish her manuscript which deserves to be published. And I want to remind you some facts of the destiny of scholars in our field..."

Igor's statement says that the DNA paper will not be published by a scientific magazine, does this mean it will be published in some other type of magazine or does it mean it will not be published at all?

Then you have the second statement by Dr. Ketchum that says the paper is  "currently under peer-review" and that "Government at all levels must recognize them as an indigenous people...and protect their human and Constitutional rights"

Really?

Bigfoot DNA Paper coming soon?

It seems there is some "New" info and hope for the long talked about phantom Ketchum Bigfoot DNA study Paper.
For a long time now this DNA paper and study has seemed like a bigger myth than bigfoot itself, but is all of that about to change? Will some be eating Crow?

Dr. Igor Burtsev,
Head of International Center of Hominology in Moscow, Russia. Dr. Burtsev is well known for his research and support of the Janice Carter story, and his many years of research. The Janice Carter story may be better known as The Carter Farms Story and has been met with a lot of resistance over the years. Many have said bad things about Janice Carter but I found her to be a very nice and approachable person.

Today Igor Burtsev posted the following on his facebook page and it has caused a pretty big stir.
-Start
"The DNA analysis of the Bigfoot/Sasquatch specimen conducted by Dr. Melba Ketchum the head of DNA Diagnostics, Timpson, TX, USA has been over!
Team of American scientists led by Dr. Melba Ketchum for five years has analyzed 109 purported samples of such creatures. The study has sequenced DNA of a novel North American hominin, commonly called Bigfoot or Sasquatch.
There were a large number of laboratories associated with this study including academic, private and government laboratories in which blind testing was utilized to avoid prejudice in testing. Great time and care was taken in the forensic laboratories to assure no contamination occurred with any of the samples utilized in this study.
After 5 years of this study the scientists can finally answer the question of what sasquatch really is. It is human like us only different, a hybrid of a human with unknown species. Early field research shows that the Bigfoot/Sasquatches are massively intelligent which has enabled them to avoid detection to a large extent. They are different than us, however human nonetheless.
The hybridization event could not have occurred more than 15000 years ago according to the mitochondrial data in some samples. Origin of this hominin was probably Middle Eastern/Eastern Europe and Europe originally though other geographic areas are not excluded.
The manuscript associated with this study has been submitted to a scientific reviewed magazine.
For years people have refused to believe they exist. Now that we know that they are real, it is up to us to protect them from those that would hunt or try to capture them for research or for sport. They should be left alone to live as they live now. After all, they are our relatives.
At this time, analysis of the Sasquatch genomes is still ongoing. Further data will be presented in the future following this original study. Additionally, analysis of various hair samples purportedly from Siberian Wildman are being tested in an effort to determine if relatedness exists between the Sasquatch and Russian Wildman."
-End

While this may get many overly excited it is important to remember there is nothing really new in his statement. Almost all of that info has already been posted at one point or another.
While I have great respect for Igor and find him a very nice guy, we must remember that there has been numerous attempts from Russia of reported proof of bigfoot. Lets not forget the totally bogus "captured bigfoot" video from a few months back. None of which Igor was involved in to my knowledge.

One good thing about Igor's statement is that it got Dr. Melba Ketchum to issues a statement. Which she has not done in a long time.

Here is Dr. Ketchum's statement.
-Start
"It is unfortunate that the partial summary of our data was released in this manner, however, I will be making a formal response in the next few days. Even though Igor Burtsev released this, it was not Dr. Burtsev's fault."
-End

All this posting and confirming has got the bigfoot world back buzzing about the DNA Paper.
While I will remain skeptical, I am hopeful that the paper is real and will be published at some point. If you think about it Robert Lindsay posted most of this, if not all of it, months ago.

There are many researchers I like and respect associated with this DNA paper. Many of these researchers have DNA samples reportedly in the Ketchum DNA study. Here are just a few of the people reportedly to have samples or a hand in the study: Randy Brisson,JC johnson,Scott Carpenter,Derek Randles,Larry Surface,Justin Smeja and more.

If  this is true and we are really close to the DNA results being published, then it would be safe to assume that the also long awaited Erickson Project Videos will be released in the near future as well.

This DNA study has been ongoing  for roughly 5 years with little or no solid info released to the public, maybe all that is about to change but after this amount of time I will continue to be skeptical but hopeful. I will not get overly excited until I can see some real published results and not just some random facebook posts. I find that after all this time I'm more excited about the Erickson Project videos than the DNA study. I probably will not understand much of the DNA results anyways but HD video should be easy enough to discern. I just hope they don't try to sell the DNA paper as "The Missing Link".
So while at least there is some movement on the whole DNA Paper, we are still left in the same state we've been in for years now...waiting.

Thanks
Tom

Sketch by Larry Surface of Matilda from the Erickson project Video

The Erickson Project
by TCC Team Members Dorriane Fisher & Thomas Marcum

The Erickson Project, an investigation project into the existence of the creature commonly known as Bigfoot or Sasquatch, was started in 2005 by Adrian Erickson. It was the first long-term project to attempt to prove the existence of these creatures once and for all. It serves to take into account thousands of sightings around North America, give credence to those who were brave enough to report them, to get the scientific community involved in the search, and bring awareness to the public.
Erickson had his first encounter with the creature at seven years of age near his home in British Columbia in 1959, and several subsequent sightings thereafter. He was finally motivated to found the project when a sasquatch crossed the road in front of him in the Canadian Rockies in 2001.
The project has continued its quest for proof ever since, offering all kinds of evidence to the scientific community before realizing that only DNA evidence would be its ticket to mainstream science.

Matilda
Is the famous Matilda footage in Adrian Erickson’s video hoaxed?
It’s a shocking question, and one that must be seriously considered. The footage in question was shot by the wife of “Bob,” the owner of the property, as she was wearing a ghillie suit. She snuck up on Matilda, an adolescent female Bigfoot, and shot a short HD videotape of her walking towards the camera. The sexy teen Bigfoot approaches the camera, and you can see a closeup of her face, which is said to look like a Chewbacca. Soon the Bigfoot recognizes she is being photographed and growls at the photographer. When she does, you can see fanged incisors. Many observers think these fangs are strange, but many reports say that Bigfoots have long incisor teeth or fangs.
However, on Bigfoot Forums, Bill Munns said he was asked to review a videotape from the Erickson Project, presumably from Kentucky, that may have been thought by the EP to have been faked. Munns reviewed it carefully and said it was a modified Chewbacca mask, but it was very well done. So the rumors are flying that the Matilda footage is Chewie mask and therefore the best EP footage in the video is a hoax.
We can breathe a sigh of relief.

This is what happened:
When Erickson bought the property, about 5 videotapes came with the deal, all shot by the owners. Erickson also purchased these videos for a pretty sum, but he did so with the proviso that if any were proven fakes, there would be no money paid for those fakes.
Of the 5 videos, 4 were thought to be genuine. These included the footage of Matilda sleeping in the woods and the famous footage of Matilda walking towards the camera described above. However, the first video, an early video, was revealed to be a fake, possibly with the help of Munns. No money was paid for that video. The other four videos were shot later.

Robert Lindsay correct on Nature rumors. We stated previously that Ketchum’s paper was at the journal Nature. Granted, our sources inside the Ketchum camp are very sketchy, and the information coming from them is hard to figure out. Ketchum then issued a statement on her Facebook page saying that the paper was not at Nature. We received a lot of criticism for being wrong about the scoop. However, we were not wrong.
The paper was first submitted to Nature, but it was returned to her by them after some time due to several concerns. We get this from Matt Moneymaker. Ketchum then submitted to another journal, and it looks like this submission will be successful. So we were correct in a sense. At one time at least, the paper was submitted to Nature, was tentatively accepted, was under peer review there, and finally was “handed back,” which is the terminology used.

As the Bigfoot World Turns - A big Update From Robert Lindsay Blog -

(This is NOT Robert Lindsay but the China bigfoot picture)

Bigfoot News November 17, 2011

Here is Richard Stubstad’s response to Steve Kulls’ nutty blog post from this summer. It was previously posted on Mary Green’s website. Mary Green is one of the few honorable people in this Bigfoot scene.

Truth is that not a single one of Kulls’ bizarre charges against Stubstad or me is true. Not even one. Kulls attempts to take sides in a personal matter between Stubstad and Ketchum and between Java Bob, Stubstad and Ketchum. Fallings out happen all the time in life. Why? Who knows? Why take sides? Why bother? Why line up with one side or the other?
The basic charge, that Biscardi is using Stubstad and me to try to wreck Ketchum’s DNA study, is simply bizarre. Biscardi worked on her study. In fact, Tom worked harder on this study than almost any other researcher, including Mr. Kulls. Ketchum needed people to run around the country picking up samples and delivering them to her. She put the call out, but the illustrious “researcher” community was utterly silent. Only Tom Biscardi would step up to the plate, and he did the job commendably.

Ketchum also threw one of her best friends off the project, an excellent female geneticist. Ketchum did this because she is insecure and was worried that this woman was showing her up by knowing what she was doing too much. Why is Ketchum always the good guy and all of the wreckage, flotsam and jetsam she leaves discarded in her wake automatically the bad guys? I don’t get it.

"Ok, for the sake of time ( and I hope all of you understand), I will answer everyone publicly here. I keep getting a lot of emails from everyone wanting to know the status of the project. Though I cannot give details or timing, I will assure everyone that all is well and we are continuing to move forward.

Good science cannot be forced or quickly completed. If it is not extremely thorough, then it will all be for naught and any paper rejected outright. So, I ask you to be patient and understanding and realize that extreme scientific overkill is required in order to convince a world full of skeptical scientists.

"Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof". This is what we are doing. When we started this, I thought we would be finished in a few weeks, but instead as Sasquatch are known to do, they threw us curve balls even with their DNA which can be as elusive as they are. Thank goodness we are past that!

As a result, we have assembled a renowned team, each of us with our own specialties to make this project "extraordinary". If everyone will hang in there, I promise it will be worth the wait. We have the proof, now just give us the opportunity to present it in a form that will even convince skeptics. Thanks so much for all of your emails and support. Best wishes to all."

TCH - Finally someone talks that might really know something about the DNA.
