On a Sunday night, between 9:30 and 9:45 PM, I saw something in the sky that didn’t match anything I’m familiar with. I asked around to see if anyone else noticed bright lights or odd movement during that time, but so far I haven’t heard from anyone locally who was outside. I did hear from two other witnesses in Harlan County who saw something very similar about an hour before I filmed it that night.

The object wasn’t there the next night, and I’ve now had time to go through all the videos I recorded. After reviewing the footage, I put together a short clip that shows the object as clearly as possible. I also pulled the above still frame from one of the videos. Sometimes cameras create patterns when filming extremely bright objects, but was this thing bright enough to trigger that effect? And it wasn’t behaving like a plane or drone. I own drones for making my films, and this was not a drone. 

It was low, silent, moving, dimming at times, and eventually drifted away slowly until it disappeared behind the trees. It made absolutely no sound.

This sighting was filmed on April 26th, 2026, and the short video is now ready. I hope I can provide more updates in the future.
