Proof Of Bigfoot?
News On The Ketchum DNA Results
By TCC Team Dorraine Fisher

To all who’ve been holding out hope for concrete proof of the existence of sasquatch through Dr. Melba Ketchum’s DNA evidence collection can stop hoping. It’s pretty much a done deal…and a wash.

According to Eric Berger’s science blog, Sciguy, he had a good constructive conversation with Dr. Ketchum, who made him think maybe the subject was worth pursuing further.  He solicited the opinions of several geneticists to examine the results of the paper when it was called into question by many after it was published earlier this year in a less-than-reputable journal that had only been created a week before the paper’s publication. Their conclusions: “At best, the evidence was inconclusive.”

Berger said he solicited this panel on the advice of a geneticist in Texas he knows personally and he guaranteed is top in his field. He declined to name names because, he said, Some of his [the geneticist’s] peers would question his engagement on such a topic, believing it unworthy of valuable research time.”

Berger agreed to delay writing anything on the topic until these geneticists had made their determinations. And they said it was a mix of opossum and some other species.’ Not what we were hoping for at all. We can only hope the Sykes study will glean something worth all our time spent wondering. ******DF

Dr. Ketchum’s Journal Makes A List Of Questionable Publishers
By Dorraine Fisher

By TCC Team Member Dorraine Fisher
Professional Writer, a nature and wildlife enthusiast who has written for many magazines.

Scholarly Open Access Journal keeps a regularly updated list of journals that are considered to be "potential, possible, or probable predatory scholarly open access publishers." And it looks like the publisher of Dr. Ketchum’s journal, Denovo Journal of scientific publishing has made the list.

SOA provides this list known Beall’s list on a regular basis in order to keep writers of scholarly papers informed of potentially shady publishers. And Denovo Journal is clearly listed. Potential clients of these publishers are urged by SOA to watch the reviews on these publishers, educate themselves, and make informed decisions about whether or not to publish with them.

SOA did emphasize that journals and publishers do change their business practices from time to time, but attempt to keep their information up to date as much as possible.

But what does this say about about Dr. Ketchum’s DNA project and its validity? Only time will tell. *****DF

 I see a Dead Bigfoot

I have debated about running this story as I don't want to be seen as bashing anyone but I have decided to post it.

First let me say I think there are some real psychics out there but the number of fake ones far out number the real ones.
Here's the story.

I was told by a person, who I will not name, that Dr. Melba Ketchum hired or consulted with a psychic in an effort to find a dead bigfoot body, I assume this was for her bigfoot DNA study.

While checking out the Bigfoot Forums I ran across a topic about the Erickson video of Matilda the sleeping bigfoot. Bill Munns posted a very interesting photo comparison (featured above) of possible frames from the Matilda footage and a Chewbacca suit.

Here is what Mr. Munn had to say:
" It seems to me that this “infamous” Matilda is causing a lot of confusion and frankly, I’m tired of confusion and really would like to see progress toward clarity and truths we can rely upon.

So after considerable thought on the matter, I thought it’s time to try and make an effort to help clear up the confusion. The images I’m showing you are a few sample video frames I was given to analyze, and my conclusion was that the images shows a simple commercial Chewbacca mask with the hair modified to a different color and texture. The frames are each side-by-side with a picture of Chewie in about the same pose, for comparison.

With this posting, I cordially suggest the following:

1. If anyone wishes to publicly acknowledge that this is their footage, I invite them to do so, and if they are correct, I’ll acknowledge it to be true.

2. If anyone feels the video frames show a real creature and not a Chewbacca mask, I welcome their analysis of why we should consider that to be so.

3. If anyone has seen the “Matilda” footage, I invite you to let us know if this is or is not the footage you call “Matilda”, because maybe what I’m looking at isn’t her, and I welcome being corrected if that is so.

4. If my display of this chart causes anyone to feel that they should file some type of civil action against me, please have your lawyer contact me at   wmunns@gte.net   so we can set an appointment for my receiving the service of papers, and we can discuss the matter on the public record, in a court.

For the record, I will confidently and clearly offer an appraisal of evidence as being something real, if I truly find the evidence leads to that conclusion, and my appraisal of the PGF as being real supports that position. But as much as we must support what we find to be real or valid, we must also reject or discount what we find to be false or fake. Our obligation is to find the truth, and I think it’s time we all knew the truth about this “Matilda” thing. I finally decided it’s time I did my share to get the truth out.

So hopefully, someone who has seen the “Matilda” footage will tell us the truth. Is this her (pictured below), and is she real?

Bill"

- End Statement

Bill Munns is very respected and a true professional, so his opinion holds a lot of weight. Mr. Munns has also done extensive work on the famous Patterson "Patty" footage and concludes it to be a real bigfoot.

To find out more about Bill Munns and his work check out his website

So what could this all mean for the DNA Paper and the Erickson Videos? Well time will tell I guess but IF this is still frames of Matilda, then this is not a good thing for either the DNA paper or the Erickson videos.

Thanks
~Tom~

Paul Freeman endured years of being called a hoaxer and a liar. People said it was his son in a suit in his videos and that his tracks were fakes. Sadly Mr. Freeman passed away in 2003 but that did not stop people from dragging his name through the mud. Even years after his death people continue to call him a hoaxer and a liar, but I had always believed Paul Freeman was telling the truth. I have watched and analyzed his video footage and listened to his detailed interview in which he describes in detail about his encounters. I have talked to some of his friends and all had good things to say about him.

!! UPDATE 2 !! - DNA paper is available to read for  a fee of $30 on the web link below.

The Newest word on the Dr. Ketchum DNA study is that it will publish soon, maybe as soon as Friday. The words "buckle up" were posted by Dr. Ketchum on her facebook page and it has caused a big stir.

Reportedly the paper will be published by DeNovo , Website Here, but some are saying that they have never heard of this scientific journal and neither have I.
Some have even said that the website was only created like one week ago. If so this will surly raise many red flags for the much questioned DNA study. The report of the site only being created a week ago was stated by The bigfoot show.

Proof the website was created at the first of this month.

!! Update!! - It appears that this Scientific Journal (Denovo) is not an established, well known Journal.  This could mean that Melba is going to Self Publish, which in most peoples eyes will make the findings totally worthless.  I hope all this turns out to be some bad information but time will tell.
:(

So I guess there will be more on this over the next few days.

Thanks

Dr. Melba Ketchum on Coast to Coast AM Show

Joining George Knapp, Dr. Melba S. Ketchum discussed her DNA analysis of possible Bigfoot hair samples, which was leaked to the public before the publication of her peer-reviewed paper. She reviewed her background as a veterinarian, years of research in genetics, including forensics, and her founding of the company DNA Diagnostics in 1985. She also addressed controversies that have been stirred up in the Bigfoot research community about her findings. Part of the problem, she explained, was that some non-ethical people became involved in her project, though none of their research was ever incorporated into her final paper.

Bigfoot DNA Paper Update

Over the last week, there has been a war of words over the expected results and publishing of the Dr. Ketchum  Bigfoot DNA study. Supporters and those hopeful of the DNA study results have rallied in support of Dr. Ketchum, while some are still screaming it's all a hoax or that the study is flawed in some way. At times the attacks on Dr. Ketcum and Robin Lynne have been rather strong if not completely over the top.

So where does it all stand now? Well, we know that the folks over at SasquatchThe Quest have updated their website to include information about the bigfoot DNA study and Media contact info. Adrian Erickson the leader/found of the Erickson project has been associated with the Ketchum DNA study for a long time now.
Erickson added the following to his website:

"The Erickson Project is a contributor of six Sasquatch DNA samples to Dr.Ketchum's study, all from diverse areas, one of those samples was used to sequence a complete Sasquatch genome in Dr. Ketchum's study. Specific information on the role of The Erickson Project will be released when her manuscript is published."

I would recommend that you go to the Erickson project website (Sasquatch The Quest) and read it firsthand as there is more information on there that I did not cover.

What about the paper itself? Well despite what you might have heard or read the DNA paper is NOT rejected and over with. It is my understanding that at some point the paper was rejected and was needing to be rewritten, this was done and additional information was added and the paper was resubmitted. It's also reported that the DNA paper is also in peer review in a Russian Journal. Who will publish it first is a good question. I would assume everyone would rather see it published in an American journal because to many it would carry much more weight and be seen as more creditable, but this is not to say a Russian publishing would be without merit.

Dr. Ketchum issued this statement about the paper: "..it is in review, So far no indication of rejection..."

Ketchum has revealed some details about the study with statements like ".. Our nuclear is 3 genomes from three individuals and is 3 Terabytes of data..".

If you do know much about Terabytes let me bring in some perspective to the actual size we are talking about. On 1 Terabyte you could put approximately 111 DVDs, if movies is not your thing about music because you can put approximately 250,000 songs on 1 Terabyte, now times that by 3 and we are talking about a lot of data.

As it's reported right now the paper is in the final stages of peer review and is expected to pass. Once the paper is ready to publish or soon after it publishes we can expect a release of a stream of videos from the Erickson project or perhaps an all-in-one DVD type of release.

So what's in the Erickson Videos? Reportedly some of the videos are in HD and are shot at around 40-50 feet away from a living bigfoot. Some videos are reportedly not anywhere near HD quality but the subjects in the footage are believed to be real living, breathing bigfoot.
One video that was reportedly included in the Erickson Project videos was The Russian Bigfoot in the Snow video, You can view it below.

So what now? Well, we wait and watch for creditable information. Information will continue to leak out I'm sure of it. We have waited a long time now but I think we are getting closer to some kind of closure (at this stage) concerning the Ketchum DNA Study. I do know that there are a lot of people with their reputations on the line with this study.
I will try to keep our site updated with creditable and truthful information as it becomes available.

Thanks
Tom

Is Bigfoot A Hybrid?
This Isn’t Looking Good!
By TCC Team Member Dorraine Fisher

A Mule is the offspring of a Male Donkey and a Female Horse
Okay, we’re all trying to process in our minds everything that’s going on with Dr. Ketchum’s DNA project and sort it all out, but so many rumors are swirling that it’s hard to make sense of it.

Last week, Dr. Igor Burtsev from the International Center of Hominology in Moscow, Russia released a statement attempting to confirm the existence of the creature known as Bigfoot/ Sasquatch. The doctor went on to explain that the creature is a hybrid product of a union between a male “unknown primate” and a female human “of unknown species.” And this hybridization is known to have taken place no more than 15,000 years ago.

And not long after that, Dr. Melba Ketchum  released her statement basically approving Dr. Burtsev’s statement and findings.

Then when Dr. Burtsev was asked why he came forward with the information, he made the statement that he did it because American science publications refused to publish Dr. Ketchum’s paper. He went on to say that we deserve to know the creatures really do exist and to know what exactly they are.

We were all poised to be happy about one aspect of these findings, and that is in having it confirmed that the creature actually exists and we can stop wondering. But the nature of the DNA findings was curious at best. A hybridization between two species? It sounds interesting in theory, but the problem is that it’s not possible.

That is,at least according to zoologists. It seems there is no way such a hybridization could occur between these two species and produce the fertile offspring needed to continue the line to our modern day sasquatch as we know him. Such a union, like crosses between horses and donkeys to produce mules, would produce sterile offspring that would have no hope of reproducing at all. In order to produce a strong, fertile genetic line, and to produce a type of human offspring, the two species’ involved would have to be basically the same species: human.

So why would these the heads of these high profile projects release such information knowing the story has a big, gaping hole in it?

And why do magazines in the US refuse to publish Dr. Ketchum’s findings? Is it because they know this story doesn’t hold water, or is there something deeper at work here?

Only time will tell. And we’re still waiting for Dr. Ketchum’s DNA results to come through.
But zoologists may weigh in to this debate before it’s all over. It will be interesting to hear what they have to say. ********DF

A Closer look at Mules -
A mule is the offspring of a male donkey and a female horse. Horses and donkeys are different species, with different numbers of chromosomes. Of the two F1 hybrids between these two species, a mule is easier to obtain than a hinny (the offspring of a male horse and a female donkey). There is no known instance of a male mule siring offspring.
Mules and hinnies have 63 chromosomes, a mixture of the horse's 64 and the donkey's 62. The different structure and number usually prevents the chromosomes from pairing up properly and creating successful embryos, rendering most mules infertile.
There are no recorded cases of fertile mule stallions. A few female mules have produced offspring when mated with a purebred horse or donkey. - Source: Wikipedia

Indigenous people
Bigfoot DNA Results - Indigenous People?

With all the DNA statements and posts flying around, there has been a whirlwind of activity, excitement, and speculation on what it all means.
A statement by Russian researcher Igor Burtsev got the DNA ball back rolling so to speak. His original statement got Dr. Ketchum to respond but Igor's later statement has gone somewhat under the radar.
Here is part of what Igor's recent statement said:

"We waited a couple of years for the scientific publication by Dr. Melba Ketchum. But scientific magazines refuse to publish her manuscript which deserves to be published. And I want to remind you some facts of the destiny of scholars in our field..."

Igor's statement says that the DNA paper will not be published by a scientific magazine, does this mean it will be published in some other type of magazine or does it mean it will not be published at all?

Then you have the second statement by Dr. Ketchum that says the paper is  "currently under peer-review" and that "Government at all levels must recognize them as an indigenous people...and protect their human and Constitutional rights"

Really?

What’s Really Up With Dr. Ketchum’s DNA Project?
Hoax, Conspiracy, Or Nothing Unusual?
By TCC Team Member Dorraine Fisher

Empty Lab - Moving on up or Moving on out?
Well, there’s been a considerable amount of excitement in the Bigfoot world in the last couple months, but none of it has been good or constructive.  Mostly conjecture, hoaxing, and a lot of the general ridiculousness we’re so used to seeing. So we’re still hoping for something concrete from the DNA project. But that’s another mystery.

Dr. Ketchum’s office was recently discovered to be vacant. While she posted this vague message on her Facebook page over the weekend: “We are moving the lab to a larger town and are in the process of selling the service part of it. We will be doing forensics and research oriented projects only.”

But that only leaves the field wide open for speculation. How does this affect the awaited results of the DNA project? Or, if we dare ask,  is there a DNA project at all? Have we all been duped? Why is this taking so long, and why is there so much secrecy surrounding it? I had to sit down and ask myself, “Why is this whole project playing out in such a suspicious way?”

And why do we think it’s suspicious?

Well it could be that the doctor has pulled up stakes, closed the company website and fired her right hand person right in the middle of a major DNA discovery. Perhaps one of the greatest discoveries of all time. So we have to ask the question why. What’s going on?

First, to address the idea that the DNA project is a hoax; a sham; doesn’t even exist, was finally squelched for me (slightly) when a very reliable source ensured me the project is very real and is still in pier review.

Two other possibles came to mind: Some kind of conspiracy or some kind of financial gain. Or both.

Since we’re all painfully aware that the government may have real information about the existence extraterrestrial life and is keeping it a secret, why couldn’t it be the same with bigfoot?

The second thought is that the government may be attempting to block any information of bigfoot’s existence for some reason. Maybe the DNA project’s results are being suppressed. And why? The only reason this might happen is if the results were shocking or controversial to the point that the government might believe it’s some kind of security risk. That would cause them to try to put a gag order on the results of such a project, wouldn’t it? Say, if the rumors are actually true and Bigfoot is more human than we think?

I talked to an official recently with 32 years experience working for the government to kind of clear my head on the conspiracy idea. I, like a lot of people, can get really engrossed in a good conspiracy theory, something like being glued to a weekly soap opera. So I knew I needed to ground myself on this one. But he insisted that conspiracy is a difficult thing to implement.

“It never moves fast or quietly,” he said when he talked of the government and their dealings with any issues of importance. “Not everything is tied to a government cover-up. They would need probable cause to silence the study,” he added. “Since this is not a national security risk.”

“But couldn’t some very controversial results of the study constitute a possible security risk? Say if certain religious or environmental sects took the news badly?” I asked.

“No, again, they’d need probable cause; national security risk, or environmental threat,” he insisted.

“So no chance of a gag order happening, especially this quick?” I asked.

“No, I don’t think so. Something that big would’ve made the news for sure.”

So I called all pertinent government offices at the local, state, and federal level, and found no evidence of any gag order on the project. Here is the list of places I called:
*Shelby County Clerk's Office
*Shelby County Attorney's Office
*Texas State's Attorney's Office
*US Dept. Of Justice
*US Dept. of Interior-Fish And Wildlife Division
So apparently he’s right. It’s not that easy to implement a conspiracy such as this as he said. It would take way too much time and way too much red tape. “It’s not as easy as some big wig calling the Department of Justice,” he elaborated. So there are certain channels everything must go through. That’s not to say it couldn’t be done, but it is to say that it would likely take longer than the amount of time we’ve all been waiting for the results.

And the Department of the Interior’s Fish and Wildlife Bureau did share with me that this subject doesn’t even apply to their office if the creature is not yet proven to “quantifiably exist.” They only deal with known species and steps would have to be taken to prove its existence before any other action could be taken.

Another possibility was whether the proven existence of the creature would affect the logging industry. Would that cause the government to attempt concealment of the creature’s existence?

“It would have to start with the logging industry being told to stop, and then filing suit,” he explained.  Any action such as this could take months to put in place. Besides, if this were the case, environmental and wildlife groups would surely get wind of a new species of primate roaming the forests of the North American continent and bring it swiftly to public attention for their personal causes. It would be very hard to keep this quiet. The media would have a heyday.

So even though I wasn’t completely convinced from this conversation that the government couldn’t do what they wanted when they wanted if they could convince themselves they had a good reason, the conspiracy idea was at least taken down a notch on my list of possible scenarios.

So if we eliminate conspiracy, we’re left with one thing: money...and fame. Depending on the results of the study, this could potentially be a big money project for Dr. Ketchum. Book deals, public speaking engagements, and even possibly a consulting position to a larger DNA project could be in the works. There are many ways to make money from such a groundbreaking project. And when money and fame are involved, a person might be forced to decide with whom they would like to share all that. And that might explain Dr. Ketchum’s surprise break with Sally Ramey when the project was believed to be so close to fruition. And why has the doctor not had regular contact with the DNA submitters as was suggested by a couple of researchers I spoke to recently?

But after all this speculating, should Dr. Ketchum be surprised that anyone would wonder so much and imagine so many different, sometimes crazy scenarios?  If she dislikes the rumors that are swirling right now, she may have only herself to blame. She’s had plenty of time to explain herself, but has chosen instead to keep her answers vague and keep us all wondering.

I asked her this week if she’d like to make a statement and if the project was still on track, and she had only this to say. “Thanks, but I am not making any comments at this time other than to say that things are progressing.”
Give us a better explanation, Doctor, and the rumors can go away.

Star Child DNA Reports Shocking Results!

What Might They Mean For Bigfoot?

By TCC Team Member Dorraine Fisher

As we’re still waiting for Dr. Ketchum’s DNA results, some other DNA results are making headlines these days that could pose some new questions about DNA results we explore for unknown species’ in the future.
The Star Child skull has been found to share no DNA structure with any other species on earth. But does this mean it’s alien, or simply that it has no relation to normal human genetics? Humans share at least a percentage of their DNA structure with every animal on earth. But the Star Child shares none. So what gives?
The Star Child Project has been in place since February of 1999 with the objective of discovering the origin of a human-like skull found in a mine tunnel in Copper Canyon in northwest Mexico.  It was found alongside a normal human female skull but, upon examination, bears only a slight resemblance to a human, which has led many to speculate about what it is.
At first glance it appears to be the skull of a deformed human child. But deformity has been ruled out with careful analysis. And, in spite of its child-size, it is no longer believed to be a child at all. Examination of the tooth wear of the skull indicates this being was at least the age of a young adult.
Human eye sockets are generally about two inches deep, while the eye sockets on the Star Child skull are only one half inch deep. This means its eyes would have not have functioned anything like human eyes and probably looked very different from human eyes.
The cranial/brain volume of the Star Child was much larger suggesting a much larger brain than humans. And the hole where the brain enters the skull is oval shaped rather than round like a human neck. This suggests that it had no voice mechanism and would not have been able to speak like a normal human. Does this mean it communicated via telepathy?
Possibly these results raise more questions than they answer, but it leaves us to wonder about other DNA results we’re waiting for. There’s been so much speculation about what the bigfoot DNA results will reveal. Will we find that bigfoot is related more to humans, is it possibly alien, (which would have seemed a crazy question to ask just a year ago) or are they something else entirely?
Knowing the unprecedented results of the Star Child DNA study, the possibilities for bigfoot are now endless. *******

Find the "Happy Place"

Is There A Bigfoot “Happy Place?”

Life After The DNA Paper Is Published

By  TCC Team Member Dorraine Fisher

We’re all still waiting impatiently for Dr. Ketchum’s DNA paper to publish, and many are, of course, wondering if it will ever really happen. Rumors are spreading like wildfire while everbody’s frowning, watching the clock, tapping the table, and shaking a leg. No one in the community is having fun right now. We’re all too tense.
But while we’re nursing our headaches from all this, we can ponder the implications. For the most part, we’re waiting for vindication. Most of us just want to know the creature is proven real by way of scientific fact and that our friends and relatives will have to stop laughing. But there’s going to be much more to add to the Bigfoot story after that happens.
If we think hoaxing will come to an end, we’d probably be wrong. Hoaxing may increase because, as the fear of ridicule decreases, new people will want jump on the attention bandwagon and shoot for  their five minutes of Bigfoot fame. The hairy ones will still be hard to find as always. And hundreds or even thousands of new faked videos and sound recordings may appear within a short period of time. And if new educational information becomes available to everyone, the hoaxers may be better educated and convincing in their deceptions. There may be more hoaxes for researchers to sift through than ever before.  So, after working so hard to bring this all to fruition, every researcher may have to be even more diligent.
And we need to keep in mind that many people have possibly refused to believe in Bigfoot all this time ironically due to a fear of the possibility the creature is actually real. It’s a scary thing for many to imagine. So if the creature is proven real and it becomes accepted as fact, the fear factor may go up. Especially when the creature has been spotted in every state with dense woods and a sufficient food supply.  And this includes many people’s back yards. Even though the creatures have fended for themselves and remained mostly invisible all these centuries, protection from poisoning and other hazards may be necessary. New laws will certainly need to be put into place, at least as precautionary measures. A lot of hard work will lie ahead.
But there’s a lighter, happier side to the story too. It’s probably fair to guess-timate, that, in areas where sightings take place, for every one sighting that’s reported, maybe five (or more) others are not reported. Once the fear of being ridiculed is eliminated, people will be more likely to come forward with their stories. We’ll be hearing many interesting bigfoot tales from several generations of people who’ve been holding their stories inside them for years.
When the truth is revealed once and for all, people may finally be excited to tell their stories.
Maybe in some respects we can quell the arguments a little that have existed among us all, and relax and enjoy our elusive hairy subjects a little more. Wouldn’t that be an interesting twist?  *********

There is now new hope for some bigfoot DNA results later this year.
While Dr. Ketchum and her DNA paper seem to be forever hung in limbo and them forever twiddling their thumbs , The University of Oxford is now taking DNA samples and have a time table for publishing results.

Oxford-Lausanne Collateral Hominid Project is now accepting DNA samples and here is how to submit a sample to them.

OLCHP mission statement - As part of a larger enquiry into the genetic relationship between our own species Homo sapiens and other hominids, we invite submissions of organic material from formally undescribed species, or “cryptids”, for the purpose of their species identification by genetic means.

SAMPLE SUBMISSION Sample submissions are invited from institutions and individuals. In the first instance, please send details of the material you would like to submit to one of the Principal Investigators. These should include:
  • Your name, institutional affiliation (if any), postal and email addresses and other contact details.
  • A physical description of the specimen: (Hair, tooth etc). Photographs welcome.
  • Its provenance: A short account of the origin of the sample, when and where (with coordinates if known) it was collected and how it came to be in your possession.
  • Identification: Your opinion of its likely species identification, and your reasons.
  • Authority: A statement that you are entitled to send the specimen for analysis and that we have permission to publish the results.

In order to avoid misidentification of samples due to contamination, our preferred material is hair, although tissues will be considered.

After reviewing your submission, we will send you a sampling kit with instructions. Please do not send any materials without first hearing from us. They will not be analyzed nor returned.

You may choose whether to be identified as the donor of the sample, or to remain anonymous.

TimetableThe project is divided into three phases.
  • SAMPLE SUBMISSION PHASE May – September 2012
  • DNA ANALYSIS PHASE September – November 2012
  • PUBLICATION PHASE November – December 2012

DNA ANALYSIS At the end of the submission phase, the most promising samples will be selected for DNA analysis. You will not be charged for the analysis. Unselected samples will be returned.

The process of DNA analysis is destructive. Any unused material from selected samples will be returned or, if you prefer, will be submitted for curation as part of the Bernard Heuvelmans Cryptozoology archive in Lausanne.

PUBLICATION PHASE
Results from DNA analysis will be prepared for publication in a peer-reviewed science journal. No results will be released until any embargoes on publication have passed.

TCC - It seems they at least have plan and a time frame in which the project will be completed. This could be a saving grace type of thing for hope of a bigfoot DNA paper in the year 2012.
So with any luck either this or the Ketchum paper will come out before the years end. Then who knows maybe we get lucky and they both will come out.

Thanks

sasquatch hair sample

Recently Randy Brisson, who is one of my favorite researchers, posted a new hair sample photo he collected.
Randy also has some hair samples that is said to be included in the Ketchum DNA paper and he is listed on the team page of The Erickson Project web site.
This recent sample is a new hair sample and is not one of the samples that has already been submitted to the DNA study.
Randy also stated that he was recently yelled at by a sasquatch while out in the woods and that some rogue researchers have been in there at night and it has irritated the sasquatch.

Dr. Melba Ketchum

Dr. Melba Ketchum

Dr. Ketchum who was to be Presenting at the WA conference did not make the event.
She still did a presentation via Skype  that covered some methods and DNA info. Her not showing to the conference has raised a lot of questions in the bigfoot community. She made a few statements concerning her presentation. Her first statement was before the conference and here it is:

"Presenting at the WA conference at 2 PDT today. Since the paper isn't quite out, won't be able to give data, but I do hope that everyone will learn some things." - Dr. Ketchum.

So she knew that she would not be talking about the DNA paper.

After her not showing up in person and questions flying everywhere about all of it, she made the following statements:

"I need to set the record straight on mis-reporting concerning my presentation at the WA conference:

1. My presentation was not 8 years old. I used some powerpoint slides from a complicated human/animal forensic case from 8 years ago to demonstrate our forensic capabilities as well as some of the techniques used in our study including control of contamination.
2. We did not sequence the WTC s...amples, Celera did that, but I was involved with the analysis of the sequences generated by Celera.
3. The PowerPoint Presentation did include results of the first alleged BF samples tested in our lab. This was followed by me discussing the results of the first BF samples that actually triggered the beginning of this project.
I have to remind everyone, that until it is published, I cannot discuss our data at all. That is why this presentation was given in this context." - Dr. Ketchum

So if things are as she is saying, then the DNA paper is still under review and will be published at some point.

A drawing of the male Bigfoot killed at the Sierra Kills from an upcoming book by Justin Smeja about the incident which will contain many more great photos and drawings like this

Sierra Kills Drawing

Robert Lindsay recently posted the above photo. Love him or hate him he does obtain some inside info when it comes to all the bigfoot stuff.
This is a  professional artist’s rendering of a Bigfoot .This is a rendering of the bigfoot Justin Semja  killed and reportedly submitted the DNA sample from. This sample is reported to be included in the Dr. Ketchum DNA paper.
Robert Lindsay also reported that Justin Semja  has submit a bigfoot steak sample to an independent lab for testing of DNA.

This was just a quick review of some of the more important events in the bigfoot community. I think we are the only ones that covered the Randy Brisson hair sample...but I think it was important.

The Erickson Project - Sasquatch the Quest Promo

TCC -  This Promo was on youtube, It is pushing up towards 1 year old. In this promo there seems to be a big push to tie in the DNA results. So it makes me wonder if The Erickson Project video is ready to go but waiting on Dr. Ketchum's DNA report to FINALLY publish before releasing the video.

This could be the case. Just watching the Promo make me want to see the video NOW!

Some are crying foul and saying it is all about money, well I think The Erickson People should make some of their money back. After all they have over 5 years of time and money already invested and I do not expect them to just give it all away for free.

Thanks
Tom

Time - Bigfoot Real!
Can We All Relax After Dr. Ketchum’s Results?
by
Dorraine Fisher

It’s no secret in the Sasquatch community that if you dare to enter into the realm of Bigfoot, you enter sensitive territory. You have those who have witnessed the hairy ones first hand. They know what they saw and they certainly don’t like to be called liars, or worse, crazy.  And then you have the journalists, researchers, and photo analysts who simply must scrutinize every piece of evidence that comes their way with the determination of an IRS auditor. But they do so in order to keep the research valid and credible. And they don’t want to be made a fool. All sides must tread lightly. So when Dr. Ketchum comes through with her DNA paper and proves the existence of Sasquatches, hopefully without a shred of doubt left, can we all relax a little?
The answer is yes and no. On one hand, thousands of eye witnesses will be vindicated. No one will be able to call them crazy anymore. Many may still be called liars, but the word “crazy” can be eliminated from the equation. But when its existence is proven and no one’s afraid of being called crazy, many more stories may pour in for researchers to record and analyze. It’s very possible that a lot more people may jump on the Bigfoot bandwagon. And it remains to be seen whether this will be good or bad for the species and the research.
But on the other hand science will take all this more seriously and all the hard work done by members of the community will be validated. Scientists have been almost completely absent from the community until recently. It’s been all the “hiking boots on the ground” types, the regular Joes and Janes, who’ve walked sometimes dangerous wilderness areas in the dark of night in all kinds of weather conditions, pointing a camera in every direction while often finding nothing, that have made this all possible. It’s all those who’ve tirelessly set up sound recorders and trail cams every day, scanned hundreds of miles of ground for a single footprint or sat crouched for hours under camouflage just to get the right picture that might make the world believe.
And my guess is that none of this will stop after the results are in. There will still be researchers scanning the woods, and there will probably still be hoaxers out there looking to make a quick buck with their fake photos and videos. All this while science tries to gain its footing on the subject and produce some solid evidence with possibly a Jane Goodall approach.
But we’ve learned a lot in a short time on this quest. And everyone deserves credit for all they’re hard work. You knew Bigfoot was real the whole time, and you spent your life trying to prove it. And even though it’s a bit tragic that, even after thousands of sightings by credible eye witnesses that told the same stories time and time again, you still had to work like a dog to prove what you already knew.
But now maybe you can take comfort in the fact that those hard, stressful days are gone for good.
Maybe now you can at least relax a little in knowing that none of your work or emotional investment
was in vain. You knew it all the time or you wouldn’t have done it.
