The Matilda Story | Part 5 | Aftermath and where is the documentary

The paths of those directly involved with Matilda's story have gone in separate directions, leaving many questions unanswered.

The DNA study by Dr. Melba Ketchum's DNA lab are still hotly debated in some circles. Other DNA studies have been made with alleged sasquatch samples since then. And all fall under the same discussions pro and con; belief or doubt; faked or real. However, there is still an underlying problem with any DNA study that has been done or will be done. Until the scientific community formally accepts the existence of a mammal known as a sasquatch, there can be no definitive study made of any DNA samples. The scientific community will not formally acknowledge the existence of a sasquatch until the government formally admits to its existence. And I am sure that the government in turn will tell you that no such creature exists because scientists have not found one yet.

And there you have the Sasquatch Catch-22.

The Matilda Story | Part 3 | Dr. Melba Ketchum and her DNA Study | Short Version

Dr. Melba Ketchum stirs lots of emotions. There is no denying the feelings when her name is mentioned. Her dealings with Sasquatch could fill a book, along with all the rumors and stories and such. I'm not writing a book.

I'm going to try to give a little personal information on her and then try to give what I can find as a timeline of her business venture into Sasquatch DNA. Even that won't be a simple thing. But I'll try.

Bigfoot Hit - Hair Sample Saved

Today I'm sharing and saving, an older news report about a clump of hair left on a trailer after the people driving hit what they think was a bigfoot.

One of the reasons I wanted to preserve this report is that it is very similar to a local report from my area, of a woman who hit a bigfoot.

Here is the news clip with some commentary

FBI: Peter Byrne Files

This is yet another historical post concerning Peter Byrne, Bigfoot and the FBI. For those who may not know, Peter Byrne is a long time bigfoot researcher who was born in Ireland. He served in the Royal Air Force during World War II, and went to Northern India to work on a tea plantation. Peter discovered his first yeti footprint in Nepal in 1948. In 1957 Byrne embarked on a three year expedition to hunt and track down the yeti; the expedition was funded by Texas oilman Tom Slick. In 1968 Byrne co-founded the International Wildlife Conservation Society, Inc. and serves as the executive director to this very day. He is often described as controversial, colorful, and passionately dedicated to the Bigfoot and Yeti search.

Mr. Byran as of 2019 and at 93 years old, is still in the hunt for Bigfoot. But what some may not know about is his interaction with the FBI.

What follows is some FBI file papers and some context. While for many this may not be new information, I feel I need to document and preserve this part of bigfoot history on our website. Also, I think the bigfoot community is growing and some may not know this information.

When we talk about bigfoot we often get into conversation about if and when giants roamed the land. When it comes to bigfoot many are quick to tie bigfoot to some type of descendant of gigantopithecus. There are some problems with this for many of us. Gigantopithecus, from what we know, appears to be much more ape like in appearance, while bigfoot is more human looking. But the thing is, we are only really guessing at the appearance of gigantopithecus at this point.

So, what if we are looking in the wrong direction. What if bigfoot is a descendant of a human type giant, like in the picture. Lets not get too deep into this but lets learn about this photograph.

Ninja of the Woods - Bigfoot in the Biblical Sense

Welcome to another episode of Ninja of the Woods. In this episode, Jim gets biblical on us and shares some of his opinions about bigfoot in the bible. As many of you know there are several theories that attempt to tie bigfoot back to the early bible days.

While some may find this episode controversial, that is not the intent. The intent is to discuss opinions and theories concerning bigfoot in the bible. The idea is to get people to talk about these theories and share their opinions on the subjects.

So, with that in mind ...

Here is the episode.

In my recent research for a project, I ran across an interesting tale and I thought I would share it here. I know there is sometimes a lot of talk about bigfoot abducting people and this is one such tale. This may be the oldest story on record of a bigfoot abduction. I would think that this has happened many times before this but the stories have been lost over time and were probably never written down.

Okay here is the old story.

The Origin Of Bigfoot: An Alternative Theory
Nephilim? Or Something Else Entirely?

By Dorraine Fisher

Those of us immersed in the study of bigfoot and their possible origins have heard some pretty wild theories...and some pretty interesting and even reasonable ones. And I like to look at all of them and decide if there’s anything logical there we can all use in every one.

Some like to believe bigfoot is a modern version of the once believed extinct ape, gigantopithecus. Some believe them to be fellow humans, especially in light of current claims by Dr. Melba Ketchum and the Sasquatch Genome Project. And others take a more biblical stance and believe them to be the giant fallen angels of the Old Testament. The Nephilim. The offspring of union between The Sons of God and the Daughters of Man. To atheists, this theory isn’t even worth mentioning. But I think all theories may be relevant to a bigger picture. At any rate, we shouldn’t ignore them until all questions have been answered satisfactorily.

So here goes.

According to the story in Genesis 6:4, the sons of God who occupied Canaan were checking out human women, or daughters of men there and liked what they saw. And they mated with them, thus creating the offspring disagreeable to God, forever known as the Nephilim, or fallen ones. They were considered to be fallen angels, and curiously, giants. And the claim that they were described as giants causes some bigfoot believers to believe they were, in fact, the ancestors of our modern day bigfoot.
And it’s an important question to ask. But this theory has always bothered me. If bigfoot is the product of this union, how did this offspring of gods and humans become this hairy beast witnesses claim to have seen around the world? And if these beings were fallen angels; troublemakers of sorts, then why aren’t they making themselves known and wreaking havoc everywhere to this day? These quiet, shy, reclusive creatures are hiding from us very well and causing no problems at all for the human race. So, though I always say that I don’t ask anyone to replace their own ideas with mine, this story just doesn’t work for me.

But there’s another one that might. And it comes from my previous discussions about Intervention Theory.

Intervention theory is based on the interpretations of linguist and researcher Zecharia Sitchins who first cracked the code of the ancient Sumerian texts and attempted to tell the world this controversial story of human creation based on these texts.

Sitchins tells the story of the Annunaki who occupied Iraq some 250,000 years ago. They were beings that had come here from another planet known as Nibiru looking for the gold they needed to fix their atmosphere.

But they found this mining for gold here to be tedious, and they didn’t like doing it. So they proposed an idea to use their own DNA to genetically manipulate the very unimpressive hominids that already occupied the planet, believed by some to be homoerectus, and make workers out of them for mining the gold. If this story is in fact true, these beings they needed to create would have to be controllable, have good manual dexterity, just intelligent enough to do the work, but not so intelligent as to cause problems for them or question their authority. And they needed to be able to breed on their own.
And so, it is said, the Annunaki got to work in the lab, manipulated some DNA and created us. And they called us Adamu, which is curiously close to the name Adam in the bible.

But where does bigfoot come in?

Part of the reason I rejected nephilim theory is because I think it’s necessary to weigh the information afforded by every source available. Not just one. And part of the reason I reject nephilim theory is due to Native American legends of Sasquatch. Many native stories refer to Sasquatch as “our brother.” And they claim that sasquatch was here first. Before us. If you aspire to the idea that there may be a lot of truth in legends, and if there is any truth to Native American legends about these creatures, then it blows nephilim theory out of the water. If they (bigfoot) were here before us, there is no way they could have been the product of any human/demi-god hybridization. And if they are “our brother,” then that suggests, curiously, that we have the same parents.

Recent DNA findings about Bigfoot suggest that the maternal side of the DNA of these beings is made up of human DNA, while the nuclear DNA  is completely unknown to us, or curiously referred to as “alien” DNA.

In parallel, humans also have DNA that can’t be matched up to any other creature on this planet. Once called junk DNA, it is now often referred to as, you guessed it, alien DNA. So we’re both pretty much made up of the same stuff. Human and alien.

So, are these creatures, in fact, our brothers as Native American legends claim?

Let’s contemplate a possible scenario.

If the so-called “gods” or aliens were experimenting with DNA in a lab trying to create the perfect worker to mine their gold, is it reasonable to assume they might not have been really experienced in creating exactly what they wanted the first time. Is it reasonable to imagine they might have made a few errors along the way before they believed they created the perfect product?

Did one of those errors result in the bigfoot creature we know today?

These experiments could have created many different types of hybrids before they came up with the results they were looking for. And if we think about what they were trying to accomplish with these experiments, bigfoot would have been all wrong for the task. Yes, they had the strength, but they may have been a little too far on the wild side. Too much the free spirits and children of nature, and perhaps even much too intelligent to be tied to manual labor. And, most importantly, they may have lacked the manual dexterity required to operate the tools needed to do mining work.

And we might even be able to imagine the “gods” created a fair number of these beings before realizing they were all wrong. And their free spirits combined with their super strength and intelligence may have caused them to escape off into the forest and hide from all of us forever. Never to be enslaved again.

Sasquatch are assigned so many different inexplicable abilities. Does the theory that they are half “god” make these more plausible?

But if they are half-god, then so are we.

And I think it’s also important to mention that I maintain our human-like ancestors such as Neanderthals and homoerectus were probably covered in hair, contrary to what science has always told us. There is no real evidence to support the existence of a hairless hominid. I believe it may be the alien side of our DNA that makes us hairless, because hairlessness serves no purpose for us in the real world... unless we aren’t entirely of this world. But scientists are still trying to come up with a plausible explanation for the hairlessness. At any rate, this union could have caused a hairless alien/hair-covered homoerectus hybridization to result in a very tall, very hairy offspring like a bigfoot-type creature, every bit as easily as it could have resulted in a smaller, hairless creation like us.

(Check out this video: 6 Reason to wonder if human aren't of this world)

Just like the offspring of two different races that can produce a child of one color and a second child of the other color, are we humans and sasquatches just two different types of children from the same parents?

The Annunaki were believed by humans to be gods. Or at least they seemed like gods to the simple-minded early humans describing them at the time. They were said to be 8 to 10 feet tall and have the ability to shapeshift and do other things humans deemed magical. It’s also possible they spoke telepathically, and they were said to have commanded some amazing technology. And the Sumerian texts, according to Sitchins, tell the story of how they created us.

Sasquatches are believed by some to possess abilities that may seem paranormal or alien to us. But do they (sasquatches) believe the same thing about us humans? Does our technology and reckless behavior with our resources remind them of the so-called gods that may be our creators. Maybe sasquatches avoid us so strongly because they associate us with our Annunaki creators that occupied the planet so long ago and created us in their image. Maybe our appearance scares them so much that they’ve adapted some amazing skills to avoid us. Or maybe those skills were unintended gifts from our creators.

The Crypto Files - The Erickson Project (Ep6)

The Erickson project was the source of a lot of hope and expectations. The thought of a featured documentary film with real bigfoot coupled with a DNA study, had people expecting great things. Social media sites were all buzzing and debating, but that seems so long ago. Now, several years removed, the whereabouts of The Erickson projects remain unknown.

In this episode of The Crypto Files, we explore the Erickson Project.

artist's depiction of Zana

They Called Her the “Wild Woman” of Russia
What was Zana The Alma?
By Dorraine Fisher

There have been a lot of wild-man stories circulating in different regions of the world for hundreds of years. But none of them are quite as fascinating as the story of Zana, the wild woman of Russia. This is not a legend. Zana was real, and her story still begs a lot of questions to this day about elusive hominids of the world such as Bigfoot and Yeti.

She was captured in the late 1800’s in the Caucasus Mountains between Russia and Georgia where she behaved much like a wild animal, as she was kept in squalor in a hole in the ground and taunted by the village children. She was kept there for about two years until her spirit was basically broken and she was allowed to run around the village. By then, she didn’t wander far from her food source and stayed close to the humans around her. She was used as a slave to do much of the heavy work on her owner’s estate, and it was said some of the village men got her drunk occasionally and gave away prizes to the men who dared to have sex with her.

As a result of this, she was said to have given birth to eight children by human men. The first four died, tragically, as she instinctively took them to the icy river to wash them shortly after birth. They didn’t survive the frigid water. The last four were taken by the village women and raised by them and integrated into Russian society as humans, since they could speak and function as moderately intelligent, albeit not very attractive humans. And they lived as humans and had children of their own. And their descendents are said to still live in that area of Russia to this day.

Zana's son Khwit
Over the years since, there has been controversy about what Zana actually was. Was she in fact human? Was she some kind of Neanderthal throwback? Was she a Russian Yeti? Or was she of Sub-Saharan African descent like Dr. Bryan Sykes concluded upon testing the DNA of her descendents?

This is where this story takes a strange twist. Once Zana was determined to be a human of Sub-Saharan origin, the story was subsequently swept under the rug by many skeptics, claiming she was a very ugly, possibly deformed human with sub-standard intelligence. And this is what has happened with many possible bigfoot stories. Once the DNA results test positive for a human, the investigation comes to an end. If it’s found to be a human, it’s a dead end for bigfoot research. It’s happened so many times with DNA results. But who could have predicted what would eventually happen in the field of bigfoot research in the meantime?

There were too many well-documented, curious details about Zana that didn’t add up to her being a regular human. She was described as being 6 feet 6 inches tall, very bulky and muscular, long arms, and covered in thick reddish hair. She had thick, heavy brow ridges, a broad nose, no discernible forehead and no neck, and large red eyes. She could follow orders and understand what the villagers were telling her, but she couldn’t speak. She was only able to make different sounds to express herself. And even though she was eventually allowed to live indoors, she couldn’t tolerate the warmth and preferred to sleep outside in the often very cold temperatures.

Does this description sound familiar?

And when the Sasquatch Genome Project headed by Dr. Melba Ketchum did their DNA tests of possible bigfoot samples, made their conclusions, and began suggesting that Sasquatches were a type of human, a light bulb popped on for some bigfoot researchers.

Zana's daughter, Natalia.
So, this story becomes even more interesting, since many believe Zana was a yeti/sasquatch- type hominid. They did, in fact, bury her in the local cemetery, but since the grave hadn’t been marked, no one knows exactly where. Though it was Dr. Igor Burtsev that exhumed and studied the skull of Zana’s son, Khwit, to try and find some answers. He along with several other anthropologists determined the skull structure to be a mix of both modern and primitive features. But since that time, we haven’t had much of an idea about what that could mean.

But finally, we may reach some REAL conclusion about what Zana actually was. A human…of sorts??? A human of the Sasquatch type??? That is to say, if the Sasquatch Genome Project is correct???

Now, though this all may seem obvious to some, for others, it takes a while to soak in. DNA results in the past of possible bigfoot hair and blood that have ended up being found to be human after all, can STILL be a sasquatch. We need to go back to the drawing board with a lot of cases. If sasquatches are a type of human, then DNA results of “human” that have been dismissed in the past as bigfoot evidence need to be revisited. Maybe we missed the obvious all along.

Interview with Dax
Dax searching for Bigfoot on Bigfoot Bounty

This post by Thomas Marcum, Thomas is the founder/leader of the cryptozoology and paranormal research organization known as The Crypto Crew. Over 20 years experience with research and investigation of unexplained activity, working with video and websites. A trained wild land firefighter and a published photographer, and poet.

Spike TV's Bigfoot Bounty is a show in which contestants hunt for evidence to prove bigfoot is real. If any team can bring back proof they win $10 Million. Bigfoot Bounty has it's supporters and critics but I thought it might be good to get some insight from one of the contestants. Here is a short interview with current Bigfoot Bounty contestant Dax Rushlow.

TM: About how long did it take from when you were first contacted about being on the show, until you actually knew you were in for sure?
Dax: About 5 months

TM: How long did it take to actually film the show?
Dax: Almost 2 months

TM: This was your first time in this area looking for bigfoot, how did you like being in unfamiliar woods? How challenging was it?
Dax: I loved being in a new place, especially the Pacific North West. It was very challenging. Different plant and wild life. But loved every minute of it. Like a kid in a candy store.... Whoooooop!!!

TM: During the show you have a teammate - Did you get to pick your teammate or was it done by the producers?
Dax: We got to pick our team mates. Rictor and I had been Bigfoot/Facebook friends for a while before the show.

TM: How do you think your teammate did?
Dax: Rictor did very well for never being in the woods before. He picked up on alot in a short time. He was like another kid in a candy store.

TM: Who do you think was your hardest competition during the show ?
Dax: I was my own hardest competition. I feel I am really good at researching the Sasquatch, and I have had a great encounter that pushes me to discover more about them. O.K...., Stacy Brown is one crazy b*tch. Cuz!!!!

TM: During the show you pulled out a Star Wars Light Saber, what made you use it? had you had success using it before?  Do you think Bigfoot is a Star Wars fan?
Dax: The lightsaber was used in place of glow sticks, hanging from the trees to create curiosity. I have had luck in the past with glow sticks and once with the lightsabers. Bobo, from Finding Bigfoot, set off fireworks once to try and find them. I needed to one up his ass... lol. If I were a bigfoot I would love Star Wars.

TM: Was it hard to take some of the criticism from the judges?
Dax: I knew it was coming, so no.

TM: So far it seems that there is some fighting amongst some of the teams, did this arguing continue after filming stopped?
Dax: The drama was definitely present throughout the filming. Just think, you had Ego's and 10 million dollars on the line.

TM: Is there anything you wish you hadn't did or wish you had done better during the show?
Dax: No.

TM: Anything, so far, that was cut out of the show that you wish they would have shown?
Dax: Yes, alot of stuff I wish you all could see.

TM: What do you think will be the effects, if any, on bigfoot research because of the bigfoot bounty show?
Dax: I think it is going to put Bigfoot/Sasquatch one step closer to being accepted. Maybe even totally accepted. You really need to watch the show.

TM: Do you have any regrets about doing the show?
Dax: No regrets at all. The experience to feel, see, and smell where so many Sasquatch sightings and encounters have happened was indescribable.

TM: Any word on a Bigfoot Bounty 2? and would you do a season 2?
Dax: I do this same type thing even when people with camera's aren't following me through the woods

TM: How has the reaction from the bigfoot community been?
Dax: The reaction from the Bigfoot community hasn't changed, just my name is in it more. I have dealt with strange reactions from people ever since I saw one of them. Just get out in the woods and enjoy life.

A big thanks to Dax for doing the interview and a good luck to all the contestants on Bigfoot Bounty.

Thanks
~Tom~

News DNA findings
Bigfoot: The New Evidence
Well, I just watched National Geographic's Bigfoot: The New Evidence and thought I'd share some of my thoughts about the program. First let me say I found the Derek Randles and the Igor Burtsev parts of the program very entertaining, the Justin Smeja part was pretty good as well but I'm not sold on his story.
As for the actual DNA study itself, I thought it would be more cut and dry. When the Sykes study was first announced I held hope that this study would be handled in a professional manner, and it appears that it was but the results are somewhat disappointing to me. I know for a fact that bigfoot is a 100 percent real creature and no one or any DNA results can ever change that. I know the research I've done, the evidence I have found and the encounters I've had and I know it is real.

Dr. Ketchum and the DNA study
Bigfoot Tracks

Over the last couple of days there has been a flurry of debates and down right fights over the recent media blitz of the Dr. Ketchum Bigfoot DNA Study. While there are educated people on both side of Ketchum's DNA study there seems to be a bigger "debate" over the famous Matilda video footage.

The Matilda footage is from Adrian Erickson and the footage was reportedly filmed in my home state of Kentucky.
Here is a quick look at the footage, courtesy of Bigfoot Evidence Blog.

Dr. Ketchum’s DNA Study
The Latest Information And Our Take On It
By TCC Team Member  Dorraine Fisher

Just yesterday, the online scientific magazine arstechnica.com made their assessment of Dr. Ketchum’s DNA results and the study overall. And as our team attempted to sift through all the technical jargon, and then read it again to make sure, our conclusions could only lead us in one direction.

The author of the article, John Timmer, while he believes the doctor is honest and sincere in her beliefs in sasquatches, believes her methods and her findings are flawed. By virtue of what he’s saying in the article, he believes her data has serious problems. Problems she seems more than willing to overlook because of her personal beliefs in her own ideas about the creature. And we believe this has tainted the entire project and set the cause back further rather than help it.

A failed study, by a lab technician, published in an illegitimate scientific journal will never stand up to a real study, published in an appropriate journal, by one of the world’s leading geneticists.

This has given us more reason to hope the Sykes study will help us all make sense of it while bringing some sanity to the cause once again. *******DF

Bigfoot DNA Finger print

Dr.Ketchum makes a statement about the latest criticism

In response to the latest round of criticism. 1. We did give these folks access to the genomes. 2. They only pulled random sequences and did not look at the whole genomes. The person from UT that did our analysis told me that he never got all of the raw data uploaded to the second lab due to computer problems on the receiving lab's end. 2. I offered raw DNA to this lab so they could extract and sequence themselves. They would not even give the courtesy of a reply. 3. They refused to even speak with me on the phone. The entire thing was completely and totally unprofessional. 4. They never tried to check the analysis done at the University of Texas even though the bioinformatics person put himself at their disposal.

What findings they gave were impossible since both of our labs would have had to extract feces to obtain these results. If it had been feces, we would not have been able to obtain the preliminary results that we got prior to the genomes. After all, they were the same extractions. You can't get feces from tissue, blood and saliva. If we did extract feces, the quality scores would not have been this high. That is in the literature. This leads to a couple of possibilities. One, there is a conspiracy to suppress our findings. Two, they just didn't care and didn't believe that there is even the possibility that Sasquatch exists and therefore just wanted to be done with it because they had other projects. Three, they themselves suppressed it for fear that their careers would be damaged. The things that I know for sure are that it was not an adequate analysis, they did not even try to double check or recreate our findings. If they really had an interest, they would have jumped at the chance to resequence the raw samples. Funny thing, I offered the samples to three other places also and nobody was willing to test. Something is just not right. I also offered several people an opportunity to visit a habituation site including this reporter and his lab people so they could have a sighting. Of course they didn't want that either. Bottom line, nobody except a few of you here even care about the truth. Most would rather perpetuate that BF is a myth or an ape.

Proof Of Bigfoot?
News On The Ketchum DNA Results
By TCC Team Dorraine Fisher

To all who’ve been holding out hope for concrete proof of the existence of sasquatch through Dr. Melba Ketchum’s DNA evidence collection can stop hoping. It’s pretty much a done deal…and a wash.

According to Eric Berger’s science blog, Sciguy, he had a good constructive conversation with Dr. Ketchum, who made him think maybe the subject was worth pursuing further.  He solicited the opinions of several geneticists to examine the results of the paper when it was called into question by many after it was published earlier this year in a less-than-reputable journal that had only been created a week before the paper’s publication. Their conclusions: “At best, the evidence was inconclusive.”

Berger said he solicited this panel on the advice of a geneticist in Texas he knows personally and he guaranteed is top in his field. He declined to name names because, he said, Some of his [the geneticist’s] peers would question his engagement on such a topic, believing it unworthy of valuable research time.”

Berger agreed to delay writing anything on the topic until these geneticists had made their determinations. And they said it was a mix of opossum and some other species.’ Not what we were hoping for at all. We can only hope the Sykes study will glean something worth all our time spent wondering. ******DF

Never Disappoint Bongo!
Over the last few months there has been many disappointments for the bigfoot community.

Ketchum DNA Study -
First lets look at the Dr. Ketchum DNA Study. A 5 year study with over 100 reported DNA samples from bigfoots. The study finally published in what some are calling Self Publishing. This only fueled the controversy over the study. The unknown part of the DNA was labeled as "Angel DNA" by some and was quickly tied to the Nelphlim, which links to the Bible. This was a target for many people, seeing that the bigfoot community has a large number of people who do not believe in God or the Bible, the attack was on.
Many scientist ripped the study and didn't support it, but a few scientist came out and supported the 5 year study and the published results. In the end you must ask yourself one question about this bigfoot DNA study, "Did the results of the DNA study prove or convince anyone, who did not already believe in bigfoot, that bigfoot is a real creature?"  To me that answer is No. Please don't get me wrong, I think there were many good and real bigfoot DNA samples in the study but it appears they have been wasted at this point.
I was glad about the bigfoot DNA study and had some hope for it, but in the end it was a disappointment for me and many in the bigfoot community. I do support the efforts of DNA study and hope that some good comes from all of it.
