The Matilda Story | Part 5 | Aftermath and where is the documentary

The paths of those directly involved with Matilda's story have gone in separate directions, leaving many questions unanswered.

The DNA study by Dr. Melba Ketchum's DNA lab are still hotly debated in some circles. Other DNA studies have been made with alleged sasquatch samples since then. And all fall under the same discussions pro and con; belief or doubt; faked or real. However, there is still an underlying problem with any DNA study that has been done or will be done. Until the scientific community formally accepts the existence of a mammal known as a sasquatch, there can be no definitive study made of any DNA samples. The scientific community will not formally acknowledge the existence of a sasquatch until the government formally admits to its existence. And I am sure that the government in turn will tell you that no such creature exists because scientists have not found one yet.

And there you have the Sasquatch Catch-22.

Does the Government suppress Bigfoot research from moving forward?

Does the Government know about Sasquatch?  Yes they do, not only do they know but they have people in the "Community" to guide things along so everything stays the same and no progress is made. They declare everything blurry as nothing and everything clear as a hoax. Its their job,its the only reason  they are here and have stayed here for many years. They claim it all nonsense but yet there they are every single day keeping track to the point of stalking to shut people up. Keep an eye out for the ones that make the most noise about it all being nonsense and ask yourself if they really felt that way, why would they be so involved in the subject?. You don't believe in unicorns but you don't spend 24 hours a day obsessing over them do you? We had an acquaintance back in 2018 start a group and website that named names and in less than 24 hours everything was taken down. Not a coincidence.

One of the major things that happened in my last year in New Brunswick was that although I'm not much in to conspiracy theories, I came to know that the Canadian Government  does know of the existence of Sasquatch and doesn't want you to.

Some of you may be too old to remember the great video game crash from the early to middle 80's. Some of you may be a little too young to know about it, but at the time it was really a major blow to the video game industry. Some even wondered if it would survive at all.

The video game industry was at an all time high for revenue in 1983 but by 1985 it had dropped by almost 97 percent. During this time many big name companies went bankrupt and out of business. Many in the industry went from making money hand over fist to closing up shop and hitting the unemployment line. The main cause of the great video game crash was saturation of market, in laymen terms, the market was flooded with video games and related items.

Many of the games and consoles that flooded the market were very sub par. In other words the games being produced were utter garbage. Take for example, the Atari game E.T. The Extraterrestrial, which was based on the hit movie.  It was massively over produced and is often called the worst video game ever made. The movie was very popular the world over, the video game version came out strong as a Christmas item but quickly became a returned to store gift. Some of these games were so bad it caused reputation damage to the industry as a whole. After all, the ET game was nothing more than an attempt to cash in on the popularity of the movie. The ET game was so over produced and terrible, that the remaining copies were buried in a Alamogordo, New Mexico landfill. Recently, within the last few years, some of the buried ET games were dug up.

So, at this point, I'm guessing some of you are thinking, "what does this have to do with Bigfoot?". Well, let me give you my take on what is going on. In my opinion,we are already seeing a decline within the Bigfoot community. There appears to be less interest and less support than in days gone by. But this is probably only the start of the Bigfoot crash. I can remember when Ghost Hunters first came on TV, I almost never missed an episode the first few seasons. As I was getting kind of bored with Ghost Hunters, I discovered Ghost Adventures. Now I rarely watch either but think they are the better paranormal shows still on. Now you can watch these shows and ones like them at about any time of the day, 7 days a week.

Over the last few years there has been an explosion of Bigfoot and paranormal related TV shows. Many of which fall into the same fate as the ET video game, sub par.  The popularity of Bigfoot and Ghost hunting has been at all time highs over the last few years. This has caused a lot of very bad shows to be put on the air in attempts to grab some cash. It has in effect caused damage to the cryptozoological field in general. For people who do serious research of subjects such as Bigfoot, it has caused an increase in fake reports and plain old hoaxing. Many may see these TV shows and get the idea of faking reports, photos and videos, in attempts to get on TV.

But over the last year or so, there seems to be a declining interest in the subject of Bigfoot. I think this is directly related to overcrowding of "not so good" television shows and other factors. The market has been flooded with misleading and often sub par shows. Some are docudrama type shows, that attempt to pass themselves off as being real. These sometimes brings confusion to the cryptozoology community, when some people believe it to be real.  Producers of these shows should be upfront about the programs contents, to help avoid this confusion.

Now, I'm not against good quality, honest TV shows. In fact, I think if done correctly, it could help advance study of many unknown and unconfirmed creatures. I know of one instant, where a local man had/has a TV show. The producers wanted him to "pretend" he and a rival were about to fight. The producers wanted to build up the fake tension between the two, wanted them to pack guns and act mad. The main person told the producers, he wouldn't be doing any of that fake stuff.

So, has there been a flood of bad Bigfoot and Paranormal shows? I think the answer is yes. Has it caused a decline in interest? I think it has. Will there be a Bigfoot crash? I think there could be at some point.

What will happen after a Bigfoot crash? Well, if we take what we know about the video game crash and apply it to the Bigfoot and Paranormal fields, I think they will survive. The crash, like the video game crash, will shake out many of the "undesirables".  This type of thing happens often when something becomes very popular and it floods the market. Many knockoffs get created and floods the market even more. Then one day it reaches a tipping point and the bottom falls out. Which is not always a bad thing, even though we do end up losing some of the good ones in the process. I think we are moving towards that tipping point in the Bigfoot community.

But, there is some good news. The Bigfoot community and Cryptozoology community in general, has a good core of solid and honest researchers and supporters. This will insure that it will survive and grow in the future. The gaming community was able to save and build the video game industry back up again. And in many ways it became better than it ever was because it pushed the gaming industry into new areas and technologies. This can also happen for the Cryptozoology community. This is achieved by having a good solid base of researchers, artist, fans, supporters and yes, even TV shows.

While the crash may come, some of us will still be here after the smoke clears. We will put back on our backpacks, load up our cameras, strap on our boots and hit the woods. Guaranteed!

Thanks
~Tom~

ol' Stumpy is Fishing For Bigfoot
 Fishing For Bigfoot

I originally had this post titled "Bigfoot Ramblings" but after thinking about it, "Fishing For Bigfoot" is such a more appropriate title. I think you will agree by the end of the article.

A few days ago TCC team member Dorraine Fisher presented an article entitled Researchers, Trolls, and Armchairs. It was a fantastic write-up and it got me to thinking about the current field of Bigfoot researchers in general.

First, let me say there are some really good honest, and knowledgeable researchers out there. Ones that really try hard and that are a credit to the field. These researchers seem to be rare and most seem to be a little more low-key than others in the Bigfoot field. Some of these researchers have never had a personal sighting or encounter but yet they deal with the subject of Bigfoot in a professional and logical manner. They normally are not quick to jump on board with every picture presented as being a Bigfoot and fight you tooth and nail as to it being real. In many cases, they are open to it being real but understand there is a need to find out more about it.

Interview with Mitchell Waite
Mitchell Waite

This post by Thomas Marcum, Thomas is the founder/leader of the cryptozoology and paranormal research organization known as The Crypto Crew. Over 20 years experience with research and investigation of unexplained activity, working with video and websites. A trained wild land firefighter and a published photographer, and poet.

Mogollon Monster Researcher Mitchell Waite

I thought it would be interesting to conduct some short interviews with various people from the World of Bigfoot. Our first person in this series of interviews is Mitchell Waite from the Mogollon Monster website.  I hope you enjoy it.

Tom: How long have you been researching/studying bigfoot?
MW: about 6 years.

Tom: What got you interested in Bigfoot, Was there a particular event that got you started?
MW: Tent got crushed in middle of night then found a 19 inch footprint.

Tom: During your research/studying of Bigfoot, have you ever encountered aggressive behavior or felt in danger from a bigfoot?
MW: Yes a couple of times. They are not all Harry and the Hendersons.

Tom: It seems Skeptics are always ready to attack bigfoot research, How do you deal with it?
MW: Ignore them. You can not convince someone who has made up their minds.

Tom: Would you like to see Bigfoot accepted and/or proven to the general public?
MW: I don't think the public is ready for it, nor do I think science is either.

Tom: What is your favorite time of year to research/study bigfoot, When do you have your most success?
MW:  Spring, It's definitely Spring time.

Tom: Do you have a favorite Bigfoot story or report?
MW: Got tons of them. Can't decide which is best.

Tom: What would you be doing if you wasn't researching/studying bigfoot?
MW: I probably would have died. Bigfoot saved my life in more ways than one.

A big Thanks for taking part in the interview, keep us posted on your bigfoot research.

Mitchell has large list of  DVDs and Books available on his website: http://www.mogollonmonster.com/ . Not only that but there is a host of videos and pictures of his research which include castings and pictures of bigfoot creatures.

Thanks
~Tom~

Walter Shrum

Singing About Bigfoot

Walter Shrum And Friends Give A Gift To The Community
By TCC Team Member Dorraine Fisher

It’s not very often that someone gives something nice to the Bigfoot community just for the sake of giving. But musician Walter Shrum, along with co-writer Jayme DeFilippo, and producer Harry Metz have done just that in their production called "Searching For Bigfoot." It’s a song and video to honor the existence of our hairy friends, to commemorate the hard work it takes to find them, and give us a reason to chuckle about it besides.

According to Walter, it all started with watching episodes of Finding Bigfoot.

"I started talking to the Bigfoot community, asking questions about Bigfoot. Because I knew nothing about them," Walter told me. "We wanted to make a video, but when we watched other videos, most of them were making fun of Bigfoot, and we realized that wasn’t the way to go.

So after some thought, they decided to get some advice right from the source.

"I talked to a Bigfoot researcher from Virginia," Walter explained. "He said to make it serious with a little humor. That way, we thought the Bigfoot community would back it up."

And back it up, they did. The video has had well over 3,200 hits and climbing. Walter is thrilled with the great response.

"I want to thank the Bigfoot community for backing it up and talking to us."

They’ve been so happy with the response, that they’re getting ready to do another entitled

"Squatch On," this time about the Yeti. So there’s more to come. ********DF

Here's the "Searching for Bigfoot" video

Words to the Song:

Verse 1
They say he's a legend or the missing link
Folklore or myth tell me what you think
When you're in the forest & your senses come alive
You can smell his presence in the blink of an eye

Chorus 1
Bigfoot Sasquatch back in the woods
Bigfoot Yeti in your neighborhood
Bigfoot Skunk Ape is he beast or man
Bigfoot Windigo livin' off the land

Verse 2
Out in the mountains where the wild only walk
You can find a footprint that won't fit a sock
Cryin' in the night a full moon is all you see
You might hear a grunt some knockin' on a some tree

(Repeat Chorus 1)

Verse 3
Some people have spotted him every now & then
Ya never know if he's lurkin' just around the bend
He stands about 8 foot tall with big red eyes
Is he an animal or just a guy in a very scary hairy disguise

(Repeat Chorus 1)

Bridge
Searching for bigfoot searching for bigfoot
searching for bigfoot searching ...for

(Repeat Chorus 1)
