Three Boys, Two Yeti And Igor Burtsev

In March of 2013 a story and a video from Russia came to the world's attention. In January, three young boys were hiking when they came across a line of strange tracks in the snow.

Yevgeny  "Zhenya" Anisimov (12), Kirill Soldatov (12), and Alexander Pereverin (11) began to follow the tracks, laughing and talking, enjoying the "adventure" as young boys do. Yevgeny took out his cell phone and began to video the tracks as they made their way across the field. What they eventually caught up with startled the three and they fled back across the field, running for home.

artist's depiction of Zana

They Called Her the “Wild Woman” of Russia
What was Zana The Alma?
By Dorraine Fisher

There have been a lot of wild-man stories circulating in different regions of the world for hundreds of years. But none of them are quite as fascinating as the story of Zana, the wild woman of Russia. This is not a legend. Zana was real, and her story still begs a lot of questions to this day about elusive hominids of the world such as Bigfoot and Yeti.

She was captured in the late 1800’s in the Caucasus Mountains between Russia and Georgia where she behaved much like a wild animal, as she was kept in squalor in a hole in the ground and taunted by the village children. She was kept there for about two years until her spirit was basically broken and she was allowed to run around the village. By then, she didn’t wander far from her food source and stayed close to the humans around her. She was used as a slave to do much of the heavy work on her owner’s estate, and it was said some of the village men got her drunk occasionally and gave away prizes to the men who dared to have sex with her.

As a result of this, she was said to have given birth to eight children by human men. The first four died, tragically, as she instinctively took them to the icy river to wash them shortly after birth. They didn’t survive the frigid water. The last four were taken by the village women and raised by them and integrated into Russian society as humans, since they could speak and function as moderately intelligent, albeit not very attractive humans. And they lived as humans and had children of their own. And their descendents are said to still live in that area of Russia to this day.

Zana's son Khwit
Over the years since, there has been controversy about what Zana actually was. Was she in fact human? Was she some kind of Neanderthal throwback? Was she a Russian Yeti? Or was she of Sub-Saharan African descent like Dr. Bryan Sykes concluded upon testing the DNA of her descendents?

This is where this story takes a strange twist. Once Zana was determined to be a human of Sub-Saharan origin, the story was subsequently swept under the rug by many skeptics, claiming she was a very ugly, possibly deformed human with sub-standard intelligence. And this is what has happened with many possible bigfoot stories. Once the DNA results test positive for a human, the investigation comes to an end. If it’s found to be a human, it’s a dead end for bigfoot research. It’s happened so many times with DNA results. But who could have predicted what would eventually happen in the field of bigfoot research in the meantime?

There were too many well-documented, curious details about Zana that didn’t add up to her being a regular human. She was described as being 6 feet 6 inches tall, very bulky and muscular, long arms, and covered in thick reddish hair. She had thick, heavy brow ridges, a broad nose, no discernible forehead and no neck, and large red eyes. She could follow orders and understand what the villagers were telling her, but she couldn’t speak. She was only able to make different sounds to express herself. And even though she was eventually allowed to live indoors, she couldn’t tolerate the warmth and preferred to sleep outside in the often very cold temperatures.

Does this description sound familiar?

And when the Sasquatch Genome Project headed by Dr. Melba Ketchum did their DNA tests of possible bigfoot samples, made their conclusions, and began suggesting that Sasquatches were a type of human, a light bulb popped on for some bigfoot researchers.

Zana's daughter, Natalia.
So, this story becomes even more interesting, since many believe Zana was a yeti/sasquatch- type hominid. They did, in fact, bury her in the local cemetery, but since the grave hadn’t been marked, no one knows exactly where. Though it was Dr. Igor Burtsev that exhumed and studied the skull of Zana’s son, Khwit, to try and find some answers. He along with several other anthropologists determined the skull structure to be a mix of both modern and primitive features. But since that time, we haven’t had much of an idea about what that could mean.

But finally, we may reach some REAL conclusion about what Zana actually was. A human…of sorts??? A human of the Sasquatch type??? That is to say, if the Sasquatch Genome Project is correct???

Now, though this all may seem obvious to some, for others, it takes a while to soak in. DNA results in the past of possible bigfoot hair and blood that have ended up being found to be human after all, can STILL be a sasquatch. We need to go back to the drawing board with a lot of cases. If sasquatches are a type of human, then DNA results of “human” that have been dismissed in the past as bigfoot evidence need to be revisited. Maybe we missed the obvious all along.

As some of you may know, I took a lot of heat over calling and attempting to prove the Siberian Bigfoot Photos a hoax. I pointed out the fold/wrinkle in the back of the "creature" and red material at the nape of the neck. Others came up with ridiculous ideas to keep hope alive for this hoax. Saying it was long braided hair and not a fold in a suit and the "red " thing could be a wound or a blood spot from a kill. Let also not forget the beard theory to explain the long flowing hair around the face.  I was called dishonest, a non believer, a hoaxer and more over this set of photos, all because I tried to let people know it was fake.

Well, now the jig is officially up and I'm waiting for the apologies to roll in. (Not really, it don't happen often in the world of Bigfoot)

The main investigator and researcher of the Siberian photos was/is Igor Burtsev. He was convinced they were of a real Yeti but upon doing more investigation found out different.  He posted an update on the photos and confirmed they were hoaxed.

4 people in group and 1 in a suit.

So, in the end it was an April Fools joke from 2011 that fooled many experienced Bigfoot analyst and researchers.

Now can this all be over with, with this set of photos? Is it clear now it was a hoax/prank?
In case you still don't get it - the long flowing "beard" was most likely hair hanging out from under the mask from the person in the suit and the red thing was most likely a ribbon that was suppose to keep the hair tied up and out of the way.  There were 5 people in the group with 1 being in the suit. It was done on April 1st - which we call Aprils Fools Day. The photo had different timestamps and were taken at different times.

I'm glad Igor finally exposed these as fakes after pushing them so much.

Thanks
~Tom~

Experts answers questions about bigfoot
Some Questions about Bigfoot

As 2013 comes to a close, I thought it would be a good idea to ask 3 questions to bigfoot researchers and enthusiast the world over. Some didn't reply, some I probably missed but a good number answered.
Here is the 3 questions:
1. Other than a visual sighting of a sasquatch, what do you think is the best evidence you personally have found or seen?
2. Do you think the government knows about Sasquatch and is covering it up?
3. What do you think 2014 will bring in the way of bigfoot research?

Here are the answers from the bigfoot community.

Adam Davies - 1. I can't discuss that at present. Research is still ongoing. I can say that I believe Bigfoot to be a real living creature. I have no doubt at all.
2. I believe there is no government cover up .The Government would I believe work to protect the species, were it to be scientifically verified.
3.I hope 2014 is a very positive year. I know there has been some disappointments this year, but I am ever hopeful.

Candy - SasquatchWatch Canada -
1- footprints
2- absolutely
3- hopefully 2014 will bring definitive proof of their existence, but I am not holding my breath.  I am 100% no-kill, but it sure seems that a body is the only way.

Jason Morse - The Crypto Crew -
1. A print that I found behind my home.
2. I believe that is the case, for a few reasons that I can only speculate.
3. Hopefully, DNA proof will be obtained, and none of these amazing creatures will be hurt obtaining it.

Don Jeffrey Meldrum -
1. Footprint evidence
2. No
3. More DNA work; definitive analysis of PG film;  possibly get the Falcon Project in the air.

Doug WallerSOSBI -
1.Tracks....once I got pics of five or six 20 inch tracks spaced sixty some inches apart in a fairly straight line in the snow. They led away from a house that had a history of encounters.
2. YES
3. more people getting involved in bf..that means more good things and more bad things(hoaxing, rumors, fighting accusations!

Mitchell WaiteMogollon Monster -
1. Video/audio
2. Yes, the Forest Service knows, but they do not want people to be too scared to go camping.
3. quit hunting them, and start studying them.

Bobby Long - The Crypto Crew -
1. My best evidence personally is my track findings and 5 castings from them.
2.I'm positive the government knows they so far have chosen not to recognize it.
3.With all the advanced technology readily available to the public, I am positive someone will bring home proof positive evidence.

Suzy Matiash - Bigfoot Community -
1. The best evidence I have found is in the historical history of Sasquatch. Such as tribal history. 100S of years worth. Not just one tribe but many scattered throughout this country. And our own accounts since the white man settled in this country. Also the historical records from other countries. For example the Yeti is a part of the Tibetan culture for many generations. Stories and folklore of Bigfoot goes back in time long before anyone ever thought of making a custom to Hoax anyone.  And all over the world in almost every country from India to China this creature has been reported, sighted and talked about for 100s of years. This is proof enough for me.
2. absolutely the Government knows about Bigfoot. There are several stories of a body being found. Then it disappears. I can think of at least 6 well documented body recoveries with witness accounts. And then nothing. I think this is a deforestation issue and it is being covered up for that purpose.
3. Not much... I don't think running around the woods with cameras is going to get anyone anywhere anytime soon. Maybe DNA will shed some light on the subject very soon. But as for meeting the big guys up close and personal. Unless researchers change there tactics and take a less evasive approach to Bigfoot research. These creatures have dodged us for 100s of years and will continue to do so. Unless someone gets lucky. Blob squatch photos are all you will get.

Sally Ramey -
1. As far as what I have found on my own (I don't like claiming anything found as part of a team), an area with trackways and convincing structures - structures the parks people removed if they were within sight of trails within a few days of their being constructed. Structures out of sight were left untouched. One of the ones removed was a 30' maple sapling that had been arched over and threaded between several trees, and pinned to the ground with a log. When I came back with a camera a few days later, the log had been removed and the sampling sawed off at ground level and also removed.
2. Yes.
3. More DNA efforts; better research documentation - inspired by Bart Cutino's outstanding thermal footage report; overall backward movement in online interactions due to the ever-increasing influx of newbies who are not bothering to learn anything before dominating discussions; further fracturing of the community along lines of beliefs due to bias confirmation and intolerance of differing opinions; formation of smaller research groups bound by similar approaches/beliefs.

Biggy Foot -
1. A huge footprint..... Twice the size of any humans foot. What else could have done that?
2. Hard to answer, but I think the possibility that they know is well within reason.
3. I actually think that as more and more people are getting their hands on Thermal cameras, that will bring the next big revel in the Bigfoot world.... like the recent Bart Cutino thermal, and the Brown Thermal Video.

Cindy Bowers -
1. In way of evidence I would say the witness sighting IS the most important factor for me. The accounts have transcended time, cultural boundaries  and are found in many countries. While witnesses can be wrong through misidentification, they can also be right. We do after all base a part of our judicial system on witness testimony do we not? There are too many commonalities to ignore, from the Native Americans to modern day sightings. And while they maybe considered antidotal they most certainly warrant further investigation. On a personal note I have had the pleasure of seeing a couple of photos that have given me pause. Whether those are released to the public is up to the respective researchers.
2. Regarding the government and any knowledge they may or may not have. If they know of existence and the subject in question is an animal then I think Field biologists, primatologists and animal behaviorists would be in high demand as studies where conducted. Population densities, breeding areas, would need to be determined. However if the subject is some sort of relic hominid then there would be larger concerns such as the impact on religion, should they be left alone or incorporated into society. What are their intelligence levels? Do they have culture or language ? Again, further studies would be needed. They would probably try to figure out a way to get them to vote. Either way, I think that if the government knew about them it would get out and personally see no reason they would not release it to the public.
3. I can not say what 2014 may or may not yield in regards to evidence. There are too many factors at play, will the right person be in the right place at the right time with the right equipment? Technology has grown substantially in just the last ten years and most certainly has caught up to our elusive friend. There is currently a camera phone on the market featuring 41 mega pixels, Flir and audio equipment that was not available to the founding fathers of Bigfoot research. I would personally like to see further sharing of research techniques, field data, proper evidence collection practices and a more friendly attitude among the community at large.

Randy N Samantha IsaacAppalachian Bigfoot of KY and VA  -
1. Vocals and a sapling break on top of a giant rock with no other trees around (because of the shallow soil). It was broken about 6' up snapped over but still intact like you would break a small limb. Only about as big around as a nickel at the height of break. No antler marks or scratches.
2. I think the government knows something because the presidents have said that after elected, they learn things you never thought imaginable
3.I think there will be better and more evidence now that the subject is on tv, thus prompting ppl to pay more attention to their surroundings when in the woods. Technology such as thermal imaging is questionable but I believe it will become better with better images and equipment. Also, more pictures and vocals will be reported than any other year, but unfortunately along with more hoaxes. No one comprehends the ability of these creatures when it comes to stealth and Intellect. I think it's impossible to think like them or attempt to

Billy Mills - Renegade Bigfoot Society -
1.In my experience, its been, various vocalizations, tree structures, rocks thrown at and something slapping against my house, food taken in a way that no other animal would do.
2. very good question, I would be inclined to say ''yes'' I've heard reports that people have reported sightings and the next thing you know the military is in the area and telling you to keep quiet,
3. I think 2014 will bring more covert ways of researching these creatures, as far as technology and stealth are concerned.

Robert Lindsay - Robert Lindsay Blog -
1.The best evidence I have ever seen is videos of Sasquatches. I am 100% convinced that some of these videos show real and true Sasquatches and could not possibly be men in suits or CGI.
2.Yes, the government is absolutely covering up the existence of Sasquatch, however, once we truly discover it for real, the state will accept the evidence. The government's mindset has been that Sasquatch discovery will cause mass chaos and they would rather postpone this mass chaos as long as possible. Briefly, they do not think that US society is sane enough to deal with Sasquatch discovery in a reasonable way, and unfortunately, they are right!
3.I still believe that we will see a reveal of Rick Dyer's Bigfoot body in the coming year, along with an explanation from Morgan Matthews about what really happened in the shooting of the movie. Shooting Bigfoot will be shown around the US and will generate a lot of comment. More great videos will appear. National Geographic may well air a documentary with Ketchum starring and Erickson's footage. I also think that Melba will be somehow rehabilitated and I think that Bryan Sykes has some more surprises in store for us.

Larry Surface -
1. my video
2. yes
3. increased acceptance of the Ketchum dna results.

Anita WittigSasquatch Daily -
1) I think outside of a sighting I had as a child, the best evidence I've personally experienced would be tree knocking with howling.
2)I believe strongly that our government has known about them for quite a while, and the reasons are probably numerous as to why they would not want the general public to know including a lot of money involvement (ie logging public lands etc)
3) I am hoping that 2014 brings definitive results from DNA that underscore the existence of this being.  I am also hoping that perhaps a really great breakthrough on a habituation front will occur that can be shared with the rest of the community and by that I mean no guess video, perhaps language and communication which would lead to our better understanding of them as a people.

Derek Randles - Olympic Project -
Hey Thomas, I'll take a stab.
1.  IMHO I think the best piece of evidence to date is the Patterson Gimlin film.  Pulling off a hoax like that with all the new study done by Munns, and Dr Meldrum, would be virtually impossible in the 60's.
That, coupled with fantastic sightings by credible people, and the footprint evidence available today.
2.  I think there's a strong possibility that the government does know about the Sasquatch.  I'm quite sure the border patrol on the Canadian / American border has picked them up multiple times with their thermal imagery equipment.
3.  Well I hope 2014 will bring clear thermal footage of a Sasquatch walking and in full body position...and I think our research org the Olympic Project has a very good chance of helping with that effort.
DR

Jeff Patterson -
1.I have some information that I've gathered about these "Woods People" that I'd rather keep to myself because as stated too many continue to believe them to be animals...which they are not.
2.I do not believe the Government is covering up Bigfoot in any way. There are far more important things to be concerned with.
3.In 2014 I see pretty much the same as in the past...as long as there are people that cling to the idea of the Sas being an animal.

Mark Hubbard -
1.I would say my best evidence other than any visual sighting would be audio I've recorded and heard in person. My first experience i had was hearing what i call the "siren howl" when i was 17 when we were sleeping in our camper on a logging road way out near Round Lake Oregon somewhere. I was lucky enough to get to hear the same exact howl last summer when me and my sister were investigating in an active area. This was a juvenile that had the intelligence to time his howl with a passing utility truck trying to mask his howl with the noise of the passing truck. About a month prior to that my sister and me were in another active area and we heard something in the trees moving around so i called over to it to make some kind of sound, a yell or scream or anything it wanted. The both of us almost fell over when about 45 seconds later we heard what sounded just like a gorilla in the zoo. Les Stroud did a perfect imitation in his interview on his Alaska experience. I've gotten strange recordings of them checking out my recorder, throwing things at it and making strange popping and clicking sounds with their jaw and tongues. Things that just don't seem normal for known animals.
I've seen footprints from 4" up to 18" in areas where people would not walk around, especially barefoot. Several times when i went back to try casting them they would be destroyed. I've got a few good pictures of some of them. I did have a rock thrown at me one day that still makes me jump. It hit in the tree i was standing under, and it hit it hard ! It fell down through the tree and landed off to my side somewhere but i didn't take the time to look for it. I've been followed, I've been growled at several times.
2.I would be seriously surprised if the government doesn't know about them. With the encounters on military installations and all the national park lands it seems logical they would know.
They could be doing some cover up work. I would say they don't want to deal with it because of all the legal headaches it could cause. If it ever is proven they are a kind of Human then its going to be a real ball of confusion. I personally believe they are more Human than just animal.
3.What 2014 brings to the world of Bigfoot i don't know. It has possibilities of being a great year but it also holds the possibility of being a disastrous mess. With this new show on T.V. with the bounty, I don't know its just a horrible idea. Then on the other side there is the "Falcon Project". If they can get the funding i wish them luck but I'm not sure it will work. It sounds great in theory but in practice I'm not sure. I remember Peter Byrne trying to use helicopters with Flir cameras. The Falcon airship will be quiet and at higher altitude but i don't know if they can get good conclusive video or pictures from that far away. Lets just hope its a good productive year for them and us.

Kerri Okie -
Okay, short and sweet.
1.  Eye glow, large orange eye glow. Orbs also appeared at the same time. 10:30 pm summer night.
2. Yes, I am certain the government knows.....the government also knows about aliens. We as humans are not equipped to handle everything out there...and I'm talking about the every day person who doesn't want to know about anything outside their 'box'.
3. I don't think 2014 will bring anything other than more videos, more discussion, more photos. They've managed just fine without our 'circus' invite....they are the superior ones....not us.

Dorraine Fisher - The Crypto Crew -
1. I have not personally found any evidence on my own. I have only class B encounters to reference. Evidence is so open to interpretation from the researcher, but DNA evidence is the only thing that can tell us if it comes from a creature other than known ones. At least if we have the results of "unknown primate," we have a little bit to go on. Unfortunately it's rare, and I wish I had found some.
2. There is no concrete evidence that I have ever found in my research to suggest the government knows something. BUT...that being said, I've talked to too many people, reliable witnesses I can't disclose, that have told me stories that make me believe our military may know a lot more than what they're allowed to say. So my answer is yes.
3. Honestly, as much as I hate to say it, unless someone brings us a body or a live capture of a sasquatch (which we all know is extremely unlikely) I don't think 2014 will be much different than recent years. A clear picture of one will not be accepted as genuine. Footprints are too often faked, and everything else is even more subjective. Those of us who are close to the research and the researchers know there is definitely something out there, but it's unfortunately going to take a body to convince science. If science doesn't believe it, the skeptics never will either.

Igor Burtsev - Hominologie -
1. Stick structures in woods.
2. I suppose, in the USA - yes. Re Russia - I'm not sure.
3. It will bring the common communications between humans and BFs

Thomas Marcum - The Crypto Crew -
1. Tracks and a trackline and numerous tree breaks
2. Yes I think the Government know about Bigfoot.
3. Not sure what 2014 will hold but I'm sure there will be more fakes and hoaxers along with some real evidence as well.

Everyone feel free to comment below and again sorry for the outstanding people I missed when sending out this little Q & A.

Thanks again to everyone for making 2013 a good year, everyone be safe on New Years Eve and lets work to make 2014 the best year ever in the bigfoot kingdom.

News DNA findings
Bigfoot: The New Evidence
Well, I just watched National Geographic's Bigfoot: The New Evidence and thought I'd share some of my thoughts about the program. First let me say I found the Derek Randles and the Igor Burtsev parts of the program very entertaining, the Justin Smeja part was pretty good as well but I'm not sold on his story.
As for the actual DNA study itself, I thought it would be more cut and dry. When the Sykes study was first announced I held hope that this study would be handled in a professional manner, and it appears that it was but the results are somewhat disappointing to me. I know for a fact that bigfoot is a 100 percent real creature and no one or any DNA results can ever change that. I know the research I've done, the evidence I have found and the encounters I've had and I know it is real.

When the news about Janice Carter supposedly regularly feeding the Bigfoot Fox came out years ago, I posted the famous scene illustrating the event (painted by Igor Burtsev's daughter Lilya) and made an estimation of what the skull must look like on the inside based on how it had to fit on the outside. Against this I also had the reconstruction of the head and profile of a male Bigfoot as done by forensic artist and Bigfoot expert Harvey Pratt, which is also of much the same overall form.

Both conform very well to this very complete (and therefore more obviously authentic) skull of an "Early Homo sapiens" or Heidelberg man from Atapuerca, Spain and estimated to be 400000 years old :  Click Here (external link)

And from the shape of the head there is very little wiggle room for error one way or the other. Homo heidelbergensis is the classification also for some fossils identified as coming from a Viking-age burial in Greenland by Mark Hall and Loren Coleman, and hence also estimated by them as the most likely forerunner to the more humalike Bigfoot reports of the Eastern United states.
Homo heidelbergensis is also often supposed to be the last common ancestor of modern Homo sapiens and the Neanderthaloids (Neanderthalers in Europe, but also Solo man in the orient and Kabe or Rhodesian man in Africa)

Thanks
Dale

The Janice Carter Connection
Salley Ramey Sets The Record Straight
By TCC Team Member Dorraine Fisher

There have been many rumors swirling around about Sally Ramey, Dr. Melba Ketchum’s former publicist, and her association with Janice Carter of the controversial Carter Farm bigfoot stories. Janice Carter Coy, as she was known then, became a prominent figure in the case for bigfoot when she shared some striking details about the creatures for a National Geographic special from having spent years with them living near her farm in Tennessee. Some of those details have been found to be valid by other researchers, and she was known to have had associations with Russian hominologist, Dr. Igor Burtsev, and Will Duncan. But when she proclaimed the creatures spoke a language, albeit English, it sent many in the bigfoot world to question her validity. And it’s left anyone who has associated with her, like Sally Ramey, to also come under scrutiny.  So with so many untruths circulating about her, Sally felt it necessary to set the record straight about her relationship to the Carter case. This is her statement to The Crypto Crew:

“In 2008, I met Janice Carter at Don Keating’s Bigfoot Conference at Salt Fork State Park in Ohio. I subsequently visited her in Tennessee a few times and went into the field with her. During these visits I heard many vocalizations, but never saw a Bigfoot.
During one of these visits, I learned that Jan and her little girl had fallen on hard times and were about to become homeless. She had no family support, no means of supporting herself, and after contacting all local public services, nowhere to go. She had always claimed to have multiple health issues, and I can confirm that this was true. I also witnessed unusual symptoms that concerned me.
I provided Jan and her daughter with a home for more than two years. I helped Jan get medical attention that confirmed an undiagnosed brain injury from a brutal beating she had received several years before. This is referenced on her Facebook page in one of her notes. I supported Jan and her child while she received proper medical care and pursued therapy as well as disability benefits. They now live with Jan’s fiance in Tennessee.
During my association with Jan, we did field research with a number of individuals in four states. We also made several attempts to visit Fox (the bigfoot Janice claimed to have spoken to before) – all failures.
The last attempted visit was in the summer of 2010, when Jan believed Fox to be ill. No one else was there – just me, Jan and her daughter. We heard one distant whoop. Nothing else happened and we left to visit with her fiance.
It has been a long time since I have heard from Jan and she is rarely active on FB.
While I stand by my own experiences, I make no claims re:[regarding] Jan's experiences and can only report what she told me about her family's habituation history.”

[Special Thanks to Sally Ramey for giving TCC the Exclusive.]

Dr. Melba Ketchum Radio Interview

This was a very good interview and gives you some details on who helped finance this study and also some more detail on how the study was conducted.
It's better to hear it straight from Dr. Ketchum.

Is Bigfoot A Hybrid?
This Isn’t Looking Good!
By TCC Team Member Dorraine Fisher

A Mule is the offspring of a Male Donkey and a Female Horse
Okay, we’re all trying to process in our minds everything that’s going on with Dr. Ketchum’s DNA project and sort it all out, but so many rumors are swirling that it’s hard to make sense of it.

Last week, Dr. Igor Burtsev from the International Center of Hominology in Moscow, Russia released a statement attempting to confirm the existence of the creature known as Bigfoot/ Sasquatch. The doctor went on to explain that the creature is a hybrid product of a union between a male “unknown primate” and a female human “of unknown species.” And this hybridization is known to have taken place no more than 15,000 years ago.

And not long after that, Dr. Melba Ketchum  released her statement basically approving Dr. Burtsev’s statement and findings.

Then when Dr. Burtsev was asked why he came forward with the information, he made the statement that he did it because American science publications refused to publish Dr. Ketchum’s paper. He went on to say that we deserve to know the creatures really do exist and to know what exactly they are.

We were all poised to be happy about one aspect of these findings, and that is in having it confirmed that the creature actually exists and we can stop wondering. But the nature of the DNA findings was curious at best. A hybridization between two species? It sounds interesting in theory, but the problem is that it’s not possible.

That is,at least according to zoologists. It seems there is no way such a hybridization could occur between these two species and produce the fertile offspring needed to continue the line to our modern day sasquatch as we know him. Such a union, like crosses between horses and donkeys to produce mules, would produce sterile offspring that would have no hope of reproducing at all. In order to produce a strong, fertile genetic line, and to produce a type of human offspring, the two species’ involved would have to be basically the same species: human.

So why would these the heads of these high profile projects release such information knowing the story has a big, gaping hole in it?

And why do magazines in the US refuse to publish Dr. Ketchum’s findings? Is it because they know this story doesn’t hold water, or is there something deeper at work here?

Only time will tell. And we’re still waiting for Dr. Ketchum’s DNA results to come through.
But zoologists may weigh in to this debate before it’s all over. It will be interesting to hear what they have to say. ********DF

A Closer look at Mules -
A mule is the offspring of a male donkey and a female horse. Horses and donkeys are different species, with different numbers of chromosomes. Of the two F1 hybrids between these two species, a mule is easier to obtain than a hinny (the offspring of a male horse and a female donkey). There is no known instance of a male mule siring offspring.
Mules and hinnies have 63 chromosomes, a mixture of the horse's 64 and the donkey's 62. The different structure and number usually prevents the chromosomes from pairing up properly and creating successful embryos, rendering most mules infertile.
There are no recorded cases of fertile mule stallions. A few female mules have produced offspring when mated with a purebred horse or donkey. - Source: Wikipedia

Indigenous people
Bigfoot DNA Results - Indigenous People?

With all the DNA statements and posts flying around, there has been a whirlwind of activity, excitement, and speculation on what it all means.
A statement by Russian researcher Igor Burtsev got the DNA ball back rolling so to speak. His original statement got Dr. Ketchum to respond but Igor's later statement has gone somewhat under the radar.
Here is part of what Igor's recent statement said:

"We waited a couple of years for the scientific publication by Dr. Melba Ketchum. But scientific magazines refuse to publish her manuscript which deserves to be published. And I want to remind you some facts of the destiny of scholars in our field..."

Igor's statement says that the DNA paper will not be published by a scientific magazine, does this mean it will be published in some other type of magazine or does it mean it will not be published at all?

Then you have the second statement by Dr. Ketchum that says the paper is  "currently under peer-review" and that "Government at all levels must recognize them as an indigenous people...and protect their human and Constitutional rights"

Really?

Bigfoot DNA Paper coming soon?

It seems there is some "New" info and hope for the long talked about phantom Ketchum Bigfoot DNA study Paper.
For a long time now this DNA paper and study has seemed like a bigger myth than bigfoot itself, but is all of that about to change? Will some be eating Crow?

Dr. Igor Burtsev,
Head of International Center of Hominology in Moscow, Russia. Dr. Burtsev is well known for his research and support of the Janice Carter story, and his many years of research. The Janice Carter story may be better known as The Carter Farms Story and has been met with a lot of resistance over the years. Many have said bad things about Janice Carter but I found her to be a very nice and approachable person.

Today Igor Burtsev posted the following on his facebook page and it has caused a pretty big stir.
-Start
"The DNA analysis of the Bigfoot/Sasquatch specimen conducted by Dr. Melba Ketchum the head of DNA Diagnostics, Timpson, TX, USA has been over!
Team of American scientists led by Dr. Melba Ketchum for five years has analyzed 109 purported samples of such creatures. The study has sequenced DNA of a novel North American hominin, commonly called Bigfoot or Sasquatch.
There were a large number of laboratories associated with this study including academic, private and government laboratories in which blind testing was utilized to avoid prejudice in testing. Great time and care was taken in the forensic laboratories to assure no contamination occurred with any of the samples utilized in this study.
After 5 years of this study the scientists can finally answer the question of what sasquatch really is. It is human like us only different, a hybrid of a human with unknown species. Early field research shows that the Bigfoot/Sasquatches are massively intelligent which has enabled them to avoid detection to a large extent. They are different than us, however human nonetheless.
The hybridization event could not have occurred more than 15000 years ago according to the mitochondrial data in some samples. Origin of this hominin was probably Middle Eastern/Eastern Europe and Europe originally though other geographic areas are not excluded.
The manuscript associated with this study has been submitted to a scientific reviewed magazine.
For years people have refused to believe they exist. Now that we know that they are real, it is up to us to protect them from those that would hunt or try to capture them for research or for sport. They should be left alone to live as they live now. After all, they are our relatives.
At this time, analysis of the Sasquatch genomes is still ongoing. Further data will be presented in the future following this original study. Additionally, analysis of various hair samples purportedly from Siberian Wildman are being tested in an effort to determine if relatedness exists between the Sasquatch and Russian Wildman."
-End

While this may get many overly excited it is important to remember there is nothing really new in his statement. Almost all of that info has already been posted at one point or another.
While I have great respect for Igor and find him a very nice guy, we must remember that there has been numerous attempts from Russia of reported proof of bigfoot. Lets not forget the totally bogus "captured bigfoot" video from a few months back. None of which Igor was involved in to my knowledge.

One good thing about Igor's statement is that it got Dr. Melba Ketchum to issues a statement. Which she has not done in a long time.

Here is Dr. Ketchum's statement.
-Start
"It is unfortunate that the partial summary of our data was released in this manner, however, I will be making a formal response in the next few days. Even though Igor Burtsev released this, it was not Dr. Burtsev's fault."
-End

All this posting and confirming has got the bigfoot world back buzzing about the DNA Paper.
While I will remain skeptical, I am hopeful that the paper is real and will be published at some point. If you think about it Robert Lindsay posted most of this, if not all of it, months ago.

There are many researchers I like and respect associated with this DNA paper. Many of these researchers have DNA samples reportedly in the Ketchum DNA study. Here are just a few of the people reportedly to have samples or a hand in the study: Randy Brisson,JC johnson,Scott Carpenter,Derek Randles,Larry Surface,Justin Smeja and more.

If  this is true and we are really close to the DNA results being published, then it would be safe to assume that the also long awaited Erickson Project Videos will be released in the near future as well.

This DNA study has been ongoing  for roughly 5 years with little or no solid info released to the public, maybe all that is about to change but after this amount of time I will continue to be skeptical but hopeful. I will not get overly excited until I can see some real published results and not just some random facebook posts. I find that after all this time I'm more excited about the Erickson Project videos than the DNA study. I probably will not understand much of the DNA results anyways but HD video should be easy enough to discern. I just hope they don't try to sell the DNA paper as "The Missing Link".
So while at least there is some movement on the whole DNA Paper, we are still left in the same state we've been in for years now...waiting.

Thanks
Tom

Increased Number Of Yeti Sightings In Russia

By TCC Team Member Dorraine Fisher

It seems that Yeti sightings are on the rise in Russia. A forestry worker, a group of fisherman, and another individual have claimed a group of the supposed creatures are inhabiting their local area of Siberia. Three sightings have been reported recently.

One person spotted the creature, believing it to be a human and yelled, “Do you need help?” but got no verbal response. As the creatures rushed away on two legs straight up a hill, the person realized they were covered from head to toe in fur. This person also stated,  “It could not be bears, as the bear walks on all fours, and they ran on two. Then they were gone.”

Another sighting took place near the Mras-Su River several days later. An unnamed fisherman said, ““We saw some tall animals looking like people. Our binoculars were broken and did not let us see them sharply. We waved at the animals but they did not respond, then quickly ran back into the forest, walking on two legs. We realized that they were not in dark clothes but covered by dark fur. They did walk like people.”

And a government official claimed a forestry inspector, Sergei Adlyakov, reported a sighting in a local national park. “The creature did not look like a bear and quickly disappeared after breaking some branches off the bushes,” he said.

Igor Burtsev
When asked about the sightings, the head of the International Center of Hominology and prominent yeti researcher, Igor Burtsev deemed the sightings “significant.” *******DF

Bigfoot in Tennessee
by
Thomas Marcum

Does bigfoot live in Tn?
Tennessee is another great state that seems to have all the things needed to support a healthy clan of Sasquatch.
The BFRO has a total of 84 sighting reports listed for the state of TN (Here). Many counties have between 3-5 reported sightings. It is safe to assume that many sightings go unreported or are reported to groups other than the BFRO.
Tennessee has around 14.4 million forest acres with about 5 percent of  forest managed by the U.S. forest service as National forest. About 7 percent is held by state, local and other federal agencies.
The Cherokee National Forest is located in the Southern Appalachian Mountains of east Tennessee, the Cherokee National Forest is divided into northern and southern sections by the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The 650,000 acre forest is the largest in the state and joins national forest in Virginia,North Carolina and Georgia. The Cherokee national forest has more than 600 miles of trails to explore and for Sasquatch to hide.
Scott Carpenter AKA Joe Black
One noted East Tennessee researcher is Scott Carpenter, known better by his youtube name of Joe black. His actual youtube name is joebblack1963, view his youtube channel Here , he has many videos uploaded and recently captured a possible photo of a bigfoot.
Recent still frame from Scotts video
Scott is a member of NABS, which is a research group and is involved in the Ketchum DNA paper. It is also reported that Scott and NABS have DNA samples included in the yet to be published DNA paper by Dr. Melba ketchum.

I was able to ask Scott a few questions and here are the replies

Scott Carpenter Q & A

TCC: How long have you been researching bf?
SC: since 2009
TCC: Do you think the general public will ever accept that bf is real?
SC: Eventually, atfter the DNA and a live specimen is captured
TCC: How many bf dna samples do you have included in the upcoming DNA paper by Dr. ketchum?
SC: I do not honestly know, one is listed on Robert Lindsey web site, but I have not been told officially one way or another

Thanks Scott
Famous Case
One of if not the most famous bigfoot case in Tennessee is the one that has been happening for many years on the Carter farm.  The location of the farm is 57 miles south of Knoxville and 80 miles north of Chattanooga then east off of Interstate 75. The detailed stories and reports gained interest from a lot in the Bigfoot world. It even brought a researchers all the way from Russia. Igor Burtsev a Russian  researcher made the trip to the Carter farm back in 2004 and spent 5 weeks in Tennessee during the investigation. Burtsev left the farm convinced that most of the info was real after finding stick markers, nest, hairs and tracks, along with other evidence.

Janice Carter and the people who lived on the farm had been interacting with a clan of bigfoots for a number of years. Over time they got to know these creatures by their names or nick names. The most known was probably a large male bigfoot called "fox".

While preparing this article I was able to conduct an interview with Janice Carter. What follows is the interview.
Janice Carter Interview
TCC:  When did the first sightings of bigfoot start on the farm?
JC: My Grandparents moved to the farm in 1944. I do not know if any of the BFs were sighted before 1947 or not. It was in 1947 that my Grandfather and another man were clear cutting an area across a drainage ditch line behind the house for pasture that the tree either fell on Fox or he was in it when it fell and was discovered. My own first memory of Fox or any of the BFs was when I was three and Fox entered the house by way of the living room front door. For years after this event I thought I dreamed or imagined this or that Fox was a very large gorilla someone had as a pet that entered our home. I recall running out the back door and hiding in the dog house with one of our dogs at the time. I do not know how my Grandmother managed to get Fox out of the house or any great detail other than I was in the living room playing and all of a sudden this big hairy gorilla came into the house.
TCC: What was the most bigfoots you seen at one time?
JC: Thirty two in an area in NC. One of my research areas. This is a large family group.

TCC: Is there still sightings and encounters happening on the farm?
JC:  My half sister reports that once in a while Blackie shows up there. I'm not sure if this actually happens or not, because I do not have anything to do with Blackie. I do know where the rest of Fox's extended family members are located and they do not tend to visit the old farm.
TCC: What ever happened to the bigfoot known as "Fox"?
JC: Fox died in June 2010, I would need to look the exact date up but I'm pretty sure it was the 16. Sally Ramey, my youngest daughter and I came to visit him for the last time during this week. He was in bad health from infection in his foot and teeth.
TCC: What was the bigfoots favorite thing to eat?
JC: With Fox it was always M&M candies. Bo, Wenebojo likes Kit Kat candy best, Squeaky likes turnips which I find unusual since the rest of the gang and other BFs I work with do not seem to care for turnips or will not touch them. Nearly every one of the BFs in many states I have worked with for extended amounts of time and for years all like sweets best. They love popped popcorn the more butter the better, cinnamon graham crackers, cheese nips, and fruits that have a natural sweetness to them. While they will eat critic fruits upon occasion they seem to like apples, berries, peaches, and plums better than oranges, lemons, and grapefruit.
TCC: Was you fearful around these creatures?
JC: Of course, it is plain foolishness to state otherwise. Be it you work with domestic animals, wildlife or primitive peoples it is always wise to maintain a certain amount (of what I call) healthy fearfulness or respect for their unpredictability. You are dealing with a mammal that is very large, can if it feels threatened or challenged do you major bodily harm, and that is capable of intense thought and understanding. I'm not going to research a tribe of indigenous people anywhere without being fearful (cultural anthropology), neither am I going to work with a dog that has never been handled before without having a fear of being bitten, nor will I climb into a saddle of a horse that has never been ridden without a fear it will toss me on my head. I train and handle show dogs for a living, use to be a horse jockey, worked in animal control and owned and operated my own wildlife research corporation, gut instinct and common sense go a long way.
What I think people fail to understand is that these large hairy people we call Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Yowie, Almast etc., are just that, A Type Of People, and while they do not use guns or modern weapons they can just as effectively harm or kill you if they are crossed.  Not to mention they can do some scary things that make you think twice about why you wish to work among them. Example: Try having a thousand pound, thirteen foot tall screaming hairy, stinking ape looking man charging at you like he is going to run over you an knock you flat. Scares the daylights out of you and you learn to back step really fast and exit the area in a timely fashion.
They have language. Many speak English and understand English when we speak to them here in America and parts of Canada. Much like us they tend to have accents depending on what area of the USA they live in or have encountered us in some fashion. For instance in the Amish parts of Indiana I worked with a group of BF that had the Amish accent and used the words Ye and Thou when speaking to me and my fellow researchers. It took me a bit to understand them, since I am more accustomed to ones in TN slurring their words together and speaking really fast. The three individuals on Ron and Al's recordings have an Irish type accent and while they speak their own language they also speak English, some Spanish, and a few Native American dialects all with the Irish accent. Their thought and speech pattern process is twice if not three times faster than our own, and they accurately read body language. Without listing all the things that make them unique to their kind, let me put it simple, they are like a fire, it is healthy to know when to fear that fire being fueled into a raging inferno.
Thanks for the interview Janice and best of luck to you in the future. Janice was very easy and nice to deal with, she really don't know me and was very open with me during our email/FB messages setting up the interview.

With lots of forest, past and current reports of sightings of bigfoot, it appears Tennessee was and is home to sasquatch. Tennessee would seem to have everything a sasquatch would need to survive undetected. Deep mountains that are part of protected forest and an ample food and water supply are some of the things that makes it very easy for a clan of these creatures to remain hidden.
There was a lot more info I could have included in this article as there seems to be endless reports of bigfoot activity from the Volunteer state. I hope this gives everyone a good overview of the possibility of sasquatch in Tennessee.

Thanks
