Bigfoot DNA Paper coming soon?

It seems there is some "New" info and hope for the long talked about phantom Ketchum Bigfoot DNA study Paper.
For a long time now this DNA paper and study has seemed like a bigger myth than bigfoot itself, but is all of that about to change? Will some be eating Crow?

Dr. Igor Burtsev,
Head of International Center of Hominology in Moscow, Russia. Dr. Burtsev is well known for his research and support of the Janice Carter story, and his many years of research. The Janice Carter story may be better known as The Carter Farms Story and has been met with a lot of resistance over the years. Many have said bad things about Janice Carter but I found her to be a very nice and approachable person.

Today Igor Burtsev posted the following on his facebook page and it has caused a pretty big stir.

"The DNA analysis of the Bigfoot/Sasquatch specimen conducted by Dr. Melba Ketchum the head of DNA Diagnostics, Timpson, TX, USA has been over!
Team of American scientists led by Dr. Melba Ketchum for five years has analyzed 109 purported samples of such creatures. The study has sequenced DNA of a novel North American hominin, commonly called Bigfoot or Sasquatch.
While this may get many overly excited it is important to remember there is nothing really new in his statement. Almost all of that info has already been posted at one point or another.
While I have great respect for Igor and find him a very nice guy, we must remember that there has been numerous attempts from Russia of reported proof of bigfoot. Lets not forget the totally bogus "captured bigfoot" video from a few months back. None of which Igor was involved in to my knowledge.  

One good thing about Igor's statement is that it got Dr. Melba Ketchum to issues a statement. Which she has not done in a long time.

Here is Dr. Ketchum's statement.

"It is unfortunate that the partial summary of our data was released in this manner, however, I will be making a formal response in the next few days. Even though Igor Burtsev released this, it was not Dr. Burtsev's fault."

All this posting and confirming has got the bigfoot world back buzzing about the DNA Paper.
While I will remain skeptical, I am hopeful that the paper is real and will be published at some point. If you think about it Robert Lindsay posted most of this, if not all of it, months ago.

There are many researchers I like and respect associated with this DNA paper. Many of these researchers have DNA samples reportedly in the Ketchum DNA study. Here are just a few of the people reportedly to have samples or a hand in the study: Randy Brisson,JC johnson,Scott Carpenter,Derek Randles,Larry Surface,Justin Smeja and more.

If  this is true and we are really close to the DNA results being published, then it would be safe to assume that the also long awaited Erickson Project Videos will be released in the near future as well.

This DNA study has been ongoing  for roughly 5 years with little or no solid info released to the public, maybe all that is about to change but after this amount of time I will continue to be skeptical but hopeful. I will not get overly excited until I can see some real published results and not just some random facebook posts. I find that after all this time I'm more excited about the Erickson Project videos than the DNA study. I probably will not understand much of the DNA results anyways but HD video should be easy enough to discern. I just hope they don't try to sell the DNA paper as "The Missing Link".
So while at least there is some movement on the whole DNA Paper, we are still left in the same state we've been in for years now...waiting.

Sierra Kills recovery scene was videotaped!
I can now report in breaking news that Smeja and the driver actually videotaped the recovery of what must look like a small piece of flesh from the scene of the Sierra Kills. They were instructed to do this by Wally Hersom. Wally also showed them how to do professional evidence collection. The sample was collected in such a way that neither man handled the sample. The tape shows them finding and collecting the sample and there is closeup footage of the Bigfoot steak itself.
This videotape will apparently be released at an appropriate time. It will probably show a small piece of around 2 pounds in weight. I realize that that does not go along with my view of the Sierra Kills recovery as retaining 16 pounds, but I am still sticking to my story. There may have been more than one recovery attempt.

Two pounds or 16 pounds of Bigfoot recovered from the Sierra Kills?
Bart Cutino did mention something that we have reported, but he did not name us. He said reports that Justin Smeja and the driver recovered 15 pounds of Bigfoot from the scene are what he called “ridiculous.” This is the typical view, and Smeja himself says they recovered 2 pounds.
However, I stand by my original claim and now think it was 15-16 pounds. How strongly do I believe this? Let’s put it this way. I know for a fact that they recovered 16 pounds off one or the other or both of the dead Bigfoots, ok? How’s that for being sure? I don’t like to discuss this much because Justin and I disagree on this. Justin and I have agreed to disagree on this, and we don’t bring it up or talk about it. I am not sure if the real story on body recovery will ever come out. People may be investigating this incident for years to come.

Clip from Adrian Erickson video is on Youtube!
Yes, one of the video clips used in the Erickson video is already on Youtube and has been watched by many people. I got this great information from a new anonymous source in Texas. The clip is of the Russian Yeti filmed in the Kuzbass region of Russia. It was released last year. Here is a good breakdown from Tom at the Crypto Crew -


Erickson is apparently including not only his own footage but also other footage from all over the world which he may have purchased the rights to. Erickson thinks that Yetis are related to Bigfoots, and that’s why he wants footage from all over the world to make that point. That’s why the video is in Hollywood right now, because Erickson wants a professional edit job done with all this other footage, good descriptions, etc.
The stars of the show of course are the Crittenden, Kentucky Bigfoots, but there are also many others, and all the footage is good. However, the footage does vary in quality in terms of what the Bigfoots are doing. The baby Bigfoot eating a pancake video from Crittenden is also included.
The movie starts out with the less impressive footage and then progressively works its way up to the cream of crop of the Crittenden Bigfoots such as Matilda and the large male who is 9-12 feet tall. There is also an excellent video of an Asian Yeti in the movie. As far as a release date on the movie, all I have is “soon.”

EP video shown to a very wealthy Bigfoot investor.

Adrian Erickson recently showed his footage to a a very wealthy Bigfoot investor, who shall remain nameless but many of you can guess who is.
This man watched the footage and said there was no way it could have been faked. He saw the footage from Crittenden, Kentucky of the male, the young female, Matilda, and her two babies. The male is absolutely huge – up to 10-12 feet tall – absolutely massive. That is so gigantic that I am dubious, but this is what people are saying they see on the screen.


Erickson Project in Hollywood verified.
This was previously a rumor, but we have just been able to verify that the EP is indeed in Hollywood working on their film, and there is big money behind it.
So Randy Brisson is apparently lying in his denials. A release date for the film? We don’t have it. Erickson is totally broke, so apparently he is shopping the film to Hollywood to try to make back as much his money as he can from the film. Whether he is going the TV route to say National Geographic or via a film release, we have no idea.

TCC -  Wow! A 10-12 foot Bigfoot filmed! I can't wait to see this video. Can it be true? maybe. There has been many reports of Bigfoot this size but I can't think of anything being filmed that was said to be that tall.
Robert Lindsay also states that Randy Brisson is lying...well if so then why is he? Could it be some type of NDA agreement about the release of the videos? Maybe.
In any case I want to see the videos and I do not care for the Erickson people making some cash off their efforts, after all they have spent time and money getting the footage..so it only seems fair to me.

Not Dr. Ketchums Horse..used for reference only

Bigfoots braided the mane on one of Ketchum’s horses.

One of the strangest stories we have ever heard about Bigfoot-type creatures is that they like to braid the manes of people’s horses. Most such reports come out of the Caucasus region and refer to Almas type creatures.
We can now report that Ketchum says that the Bigfoots have braided the mane of a horse at Ketchum’s friend’s house where Ketchum sees the Bigfoots and where she also stores some of her many horses. We believe that she sees the Bigfoots at a cabin in the Honobia region of Oklahoma her friend Arla Williams has access to, and we also think she stores some horses there. Therefore, Bigfoots apparently braided a mane on one of the horses that Ketchum keeps at Arla’s place.
Is it true? Ketchum would not make up a wild lie about this – that’s not like her. And I definitely do not feel that Ketchum is mentally ill or insane. Therefore, I will tentatively take her word for it that this happened, as crazy as it sounds. And we also have cross-cultural data from the Caucasus indicating that Bigfoot type creatures do this.

TCC - While this might seem like strange behavior it may not be anything out of the realm of bigfoot behavior, after all the social life of sasquatch is very much a mystery. We know that all animals have some type of social groups and behavior, is it to this extent? That is just something we do not know at this time. If this is a confirmed story by Dr. Ketchum then I would think she is telling the truth.

Sasquatch the Quest mock-up poster by Bigfoot Evidence

Our Friends over at bigfoot evidence blog posted a story from Robert Lindsay blog about how the Erickson Project videos were now in the hands of Hollywood and it was being worked on and will be released sometime soon.
Lindsay post this in the article:
"We know this because on a Twitter account of a Hollywood director, the director twitted that he had been called away from his current project to work on the Erickson Project at a studio."

I personally do not know if this is true or not but in the past Lindsay has been right a lot.
His post about the Erickson Project has now been met with a rebuttal from one person who is close to the project.

Randy Brisson had this to say about the Robert Lindsay post and the Bigfoot Evidence post  -

"I can tell you that none of this is true, Robert Lindsay should get his facts right, I talked to Adrian Erickson this morning, He knows nothing about this, or any thing to do with this, More Bullshit talk, Many should get the facts right, This is put on to make the Erickson project look bad, I can tell you only a few of us knows what goes on."

He later said this -
"None of this is True, Bigfoot Evidence should check the facts before they put anything on. Dont belive Robert Lindsay nut."

We have always found Mr. Brisson to be pretty truthful as well but could it be true that the videos will release soon and he is just trying to keep it quite? I think it is possible that the videos will at some point be released. I don't really see Hollywood getting involved but who knows for sure... and if the videos were real close to a release date I don't see a reason to keep it from the public, but now if the release date was a ways off then maybe it would be a reason to keep it quite for now. whos knows.

So in the end it makes for some good speculation but the waiting process continues. :(

Timeline for the Dr. Melba Ketchum DNA Report.

We now have a good timeline for the Ketchum DNA report.
Early January 2011: Submitted to a journal for consideration for peer review.

Mid-February 2011: Accepted by the same journal for peer review.

February – October 2011: 8 month long initial peer review process.

October 1, 2011: Ketchum gives the date of December 31, 2011 in reference to her paper.

October 2011 (around the time of the Honobia Conference): Paper returned for changes, as in a rewrite. It is not known how extensive the changes were that the peer reviewers wanted.

October 2011: Paper undergoes a rewrite.

December 31, 2011: Ketchum hopes to have passed peer review with the rewritten paper.
Just into the New Year, 2012: Ketchum giddily posts on her site. “Oh well, it won’t be long now.” In her Southern US dialect, this means sooner than soon. This may indicate that she passed her peer review.

Will the paper be published in a quarterly or a monthly journal?
After doing a lot of research, sources felt that while journals come out monthly, most publish peer reviewed material quarterly. Therefore, they felt that the paper was probably going to be published in a quarterly issue of a journal. December 31 would have been a quarterly date, as would September 30, which was right around the time that Ketchum made her statement about December 31.

TCC- Recently Dr. ketchum posted on her facebook page about her bigfoot sighting and Robert Lindsay has posted about it as well stating that there is some contradictions in her story.

 Rober Lindsay posted the following - 
We have reason to believe that Ketchum is not being entirely truthful here. Because if you look at both of her posts, you can see that they seem to contradict each other.

In the first post, she says she has seen more than one Bigfoot (rumor says it was a whole family of Bigfoots), and they were gentle. She was so jazzed that she keeps going back to see them, and it’s getting addicting. So she has seen more than one Bigfoot at what seems to be a single location on multiple occasions. This location is no doubt a habituation site of some sort.

In her next post, she seems to negates her entire first post by implicitly denying that she had multiple sightings of the Bigfoots at the habituation site. Instead, she had a single sighting of a large Bigfoot somewhere late at night. And she has not been in Oklahoma since 1995.

Yet in MNBRT radio’s broadcast in mid-October, Abe Del Rio had what is apparently Arla Collett-Williams as a guest. At the 1:40 mark in the show, Abe asks Arla if Ketchum has ever seen Bigfoots. Arla seems reluctant to answer. Then Abe reveals that Ketchum told him that she had seen Bigfoots in the past year in the company of Arla. Arla seemed reluctant to talk about this, and she offered that she didn’t know if Ketchum had been to “that cabin” or not.

Dr. ketchum about a week ago made a statement about the Russian bigfoot capture (which was a hoax)
and her statement made it sound like she had seen a bigfoot. This was pretty fast spreading news and a few days later Robert Lindsay made a post speculating where Ketchum might have had here sighting.
Which let to the following post on Dr, Ketchum's facebook page by Arla C. Williams:

"Robert Lindsay continues to use fabricated stories.He is becoming a master at saying things that are not true. Dr Ketchum will address this too I am sure. She was not in Oklahoma at my home and has never been to my home.So his story about her being here multiple times to view the Bigfoot is a lie." Arla Williams

Well today Dr. Ketchum posted the following post on her  facebook page to clear things up:

"The post that Arla put on my wall is true. I know her, but have not been to OK since 1995. My sighting is not a big deal. I saw one silhouetted between me and a white gooseneck trailer in bright moonlight at about 25 yds. It was about 10 feet tall as it walked by. I saw eyeshine from 1 nearby. I was alone at the time. I don't ever take cameras in case it scares them off. Not trying to prove anything here and do not care if I am believed or not. The DNA takes care of that for me. I should not have even brought it up. Any investigation on my part is purely to satisfy my curiousity (which got me into this in the first place), for my enjoyment and edification and no other reason."

TCC - So now it is very clear that Dr. Ketchum has had her own sighting of a 10 foot bigfoot. It' good to get some details about it. Still can't wait until the DNA is finally made public.

Matilda the sleeping bigfoot was pregnant

No more Erickson Project leaks for some time into the future. We have been more or less ordered by the EP to stop leaking information about their project.
We normally blow this sort of stuff off with a guffaw, a willful gesture or two, a snarky remark, a gulp of wine and a round of air guitar, but now several of our EP sources are in serious hot water as the EP is undertaking a serious counterespionage operation, and the only way to save my sources is to stop printing the leaks. There won’t be much to print anyway, as my sources are suddenly being afflicted with selective mutism when they talk to me.
So unfortunately, you are not going to find much juicy EP news from us for some time into the future. If I can dig up anything on my own from public information, I will do so, but there won’t be anything more from my sources. I will also continue to report on news about Erickson that has already been reported, but there will no new leaked information from my EP sources.
Crittenden, Kentucky leak. It’s been suggested that my EP sources leaked that location, one of the EP’s habituation sites, to me. This is not true. They never told me the locations of any EP habituation sites. I found out the Crittenden, Kentucky location and in fact the exact address by doing some elaborate Internet sleuthing all by myself, of which I will not divulge the details. Bottom line is I figured out that location 100% on my own, with no help from my EP sources.
Matilda the EP’s sleeping Sasquatch. The widely disseminated photo of Matilda, the sleeping Bigfoot from Kentucky, has generated a lot of controversy. We can now tell you that in 2005, possibly around the time of that video and certainly around the time of the other video where she approaches the camera, Matilda become pregnant. After those videos were shot, she had a baby Bigfoot. This information comes to us from an interview with Mary Green on the Internet.

Possible early release date for Ketchum DNA Study. Several lines of evidence seem to be converging around a possible early release date for Dr. Melba Ketchum’s Bigfoot DNA study.
1. Sequencing of the Bigfoot nuclear genome. There was a rumor around November 1 that the team was ready to finalize the sequencing of the entire Bigfoot nuclear DNA genome. Approximately one month later, Ketchum released an optimistic but cryptic comment on her Facebook page about some remarkable recent progress.
The nuclear genome was only partially done in the early days of the study. For instance, the MC1R gene that we discussed earlier has about 1,000 polymorphisms. Of those, only ~400-500 had been done by the time that our source released data to us.
There are many reasons that make full sequencing of the nuclear genome a difficult task. The main one is the use of primers. Human primers were initially used for the nuclear DNA, but since Bigfoots are not humans, the team soon ran into a lot of problems with the use of human primers. That is, human primers simply did not cut it for Bigfoot nuclear DNA. So the team had to invent their own new primers, and this is an immensely complicated task. Further, sequencing has to be run repeatedly, sometimes even backwards. In a phrase, it’s a great big mess.

After a year or so of messing around with all these problems, the team has apparently ironed out all of the kinks. After Wally Hersom may have given the go-ahead for the funding for the entire nuclear genome around November 1, I estimate that it may have taken ~1 month to get it done. That coincides remarkably with Ketchum’s optimistic Facebook release on December 1.
2. A cryptic comment on Ketchum’s Facebook page on December 3, only two days after the possible completion of the nuclear sequencing. Here it is:

For all of the people speculating on the Erickson project, Adrian and I have agreed to set aside the NDA to tell you that his group is a successful participant in this project. His research project to obtain the DNA samples is separate from us. His samples will be in the paper along with all of the successful submitters. And, yes, his great footage will come out so lets let all of the rumors go, OK? And once again, please know that we are at the mercy of the journal as to when we can announce. Thanks!
