The Murphysboro Mud Monster
The Murphysboro Mud Monster events started in June of 1973 when a young couple (Randy Needham and Judy Johnson) were parked at a boat launch in Riverside park, next to the Big Muddy River. (The big Muddy River is a 156 mile long river that joins the Mississippi south of Grand Tower.) The two were listening to the radio deciding whether to leave or stay a little longer. Judy's father had forbid her to see Randy, which is why they were parked at this remote location. They were interrupted by the sound of what Randy described as "An Eagle shrieking into a microphone" coming from the bush along the river. Shutting off the radio to listen closer it happened a second time but this time coming with movement in bush in front of them. Randy hit the headlights and the couple saw a large foul smelling creature roughly 8ft tall, light colored hair matted with mud and walking on two legs toward the vehicle. Randy started the car and sped back toward town. After a few minutes of silence between the two they debated on whether or not to make a report to the local police. This was a forbidden romance after all and at the very least would expose them.
When they weighed what had just happened against the possible backlash they would receive for being down there together they headed straight to the police station.

Was an Alien Gray Photographed By Police In Argentina?
By Dorraine Fisher
Back in September of 2017, police were allegedly dispatched to a public park area in Corrientes, Argentina known as Parque Miter. A group of young people gathered in the area were in a panic. They had reported a strange-looking being wandering around the area. When the police arrived, they attempted to approach and make contact with this being and called out to it, but they got no answer or response of any kind. They quickly realized the creature was not a human of any kind, and they began to take photographs of it with their phones. But according to reports, the “creature” fled toward the Parana River nearby and they lost sight of it.

The team at Murder123 talk about serial killer H.H. Holmes. Holmes was know by several names which included; Herman Webster Mudgett, Dr. Henry Howard Holmes and by HH Holmes.
Holmes confessed to 27 murders but is suspected of many more. There were 9 murders possibly confirmed but some of the people Holmes admitted to killing were actually found to be still alive.
While the label of murder is on Holmes, he was also know as a con artist and a bigamist, and the subject of more than 50 lawsuits in Chicago alone.
"The Murder Castle" where Holmes reportedly killed many of his victims was actually a building he owned that was a hotel. There are some reports that the hotel was never really open for business.
Many mysteries and tales surround H.H, Holmes, just what is truth and what is fabrication is up for debate.

Using Psychic Detectives to Solve Crimes
Eight years ago, Troy Griffin predicted that a good friend of his, Diana, was going to be involved in a car accident. Troy spoke to Diana about his prediction and expressed his concern about her driving. Some months later, Diana was indeed involved in an accident; luckily, it wasn’t serious, but the circumstances were just the same as Troy’s vision. Troy is a psychic, able to make predictions about the future and see events many months or even years before they happen. He also says that he sees the dead and can communicate with ghosts to help solve crimes. Troy has put his psychic abilities to good use, reportedly assisting the police with more than 100 missing person cases and also several murder cases. This case is a great example of putting psychic powers to good use and the wonders that these types of predictions can do for improving everyday safety.

The Weird Story That Won’t Go Away
By Dorraine Fisher
Some stories, on the surface, seem too ridiculous sometimes. Especially when we’re talking about creatures like mermaids, which are, in the western world, seen as the products of folklore. But in some parts of the world, like Africa, many sectors of the population there believe that mermaids are very real. And there may be a reason for that. This is a story of mermaids that has been ongoing for hundreds of years. And when it’s been going on that long, we have to sit up and take notice...with an open mind, of course.

Mock up photo of the report. |
It seems that a call came into the sheriffs office a little after 2am that a man had shot a 7 foot tall "hairy beast" 9 times at point blank range. The call was taken very seriously and about a dozen officers, from two different police departments, were dispatched to an areas known as Hamilton Hollow.
Sunday, December 31, 2017
Hairy creature scares three people in Shiawassee County, Michigan. The towns folks hear about the sightings of this unknown creature and take steps to protect themselves. Many of the residents say they will start packing some type of gun in case they have a run in with this hairy creature.
A few other people actually saw this hairy creature as it ran into the shallow south branch of the Shiawassee River. Several of them called the local police and two deputies were dispatched. Once on the scene the two deputies gave chase to the creature but never saw it. They reported hearing sloshing in the river.
Now, if I stopped right there you would probably assume this was a typical bigfoot sighting, but there is more to the story.

Today I wanted to continue to look back at some of the historic events and findings from the bigfoot world. The subject today is the 1982 Grays Harbor bigfoot footprints and castings. This is one of the best-documented bigfoot track findings that you will come across. It was well documented by the Gray's Harbor Sheriff's Dept.
There were numerous tracks found in four separate areas. Those areas were: Abbott Hill, Worman's Bar, Elma Gate, and Porter Creek.

a talkin' dog? |
I'm sure almost everyone has heard of The Son of Sam murders. If not, here is a short over view.

David Richard Berkowitz, also known as the Son of Sam and the.44 Caliber Killer. He killed 6 people and wounded seven others. His murder spree started in July of 1976. He eluded the police and taunted them by leaving notes at the crime scenes promising more murders. One note read "I am a monster, I am the Son of Sam." Berkowitz was a pudgy overweight 24 year old postal worker who mostly targeted young attractive women with long dark hair for his victims.
Berkowitz was arrested in August of 1977, this is when things really got weird. He told fantastic tales of demons and get this, a talking dog. The dog was a black Labrador retriever named Harvey. According to Berkowitz, he had been commanded by Harvey (the dog) to commit murder. At this point it would be really easy just to say "the guy is a nut" and let it go, but Berkowitz had more to add to the talking dog story.
Berkowitz confessed as being the "Son of Sam" killer and offered a bizarre tale for his motivations.
He stated that "Sam" was an ancient demon that had possessed his neighbor Sam Carr. That Sam (Carr) was really a man who lived 6,000 years ago and that his dog (Harvey) had told him all of this and instructed him to kill. The dog also told him that Sam (Carr) was the Devil.
Oddly enough, Berowitz refereed to himself as "Beelzebub" in a note left for the police, a name which most associate with The Devil. Berowitz, in prison, told stories of involvement with Satanic worship and the occult.
While some may just dismiss Berowitz's tales of Satanic cults, Demon possession and talking dogs. It should be noted that the movie The Exorcist was inspired by the actual 1949 exorcism case of Ronald Doe. Of course, this is not the boys real name but the case is well documented by Raymond Bishop, the attending priest.
Berowitz who remains in prison, was denied parole in 2014 but questions remain about his tales.
Was he, his neighbor and the dog all under or possessed by some evil, demonic spirit or did Berowitz just make it all up. The police did find Satanic writing on the walls of Berowitz apartment, but later in 1979, Berowitz, said it was all a hoax and he made it up. It seems some of his occult claims were made after the hoax confession.
Do you believe in Demonic possession?
As of 1987,Berowitz claims to be a born again christian. He is back up for parole in 2016 but like the other parole hearings, Berowitz, will most likely not attend. He does not want to be paroled and states he deserves to be in prison.
On a side note, there is a book out that claims Hitler had or was trying to create a army of talking dogs, that could also read and write. The book is Amazing Dogs: A Cabinet of Canine Curiosities by Dr. Jan Bondeson
So there is your cup of weird for today, enjoy.
Thanks
~Tom~

A blaze of light shooting across the Texas sky got people talking, spurring the Federal Aviation Administration to examine stunning police footage.
The bluish-green streak seen as far north as Oklahoma City and as far south as Houston was "most likely" a meteor or piece of space junk, officials say, according to the Austin-American Statesman.
FAA officials hunkered down with dashboard camera footage provided by Little River-Academy Police Chief Troy Hess, who observed the Wednesday night light show at Bell County town.
"It kept getting bigger, and the color kept changing," Hess told the paper.
Nearby residents in the small Texas town thought this bizarre flying object might be a distressed aircraft crashing or the sort of UFO visitation celebrated in Steven Spielberg movies, ITN reports.
The UFO talk crops up whenever these strange light shows occur. In September, a greenish streek spotted across several West Coast states opened the door to a lot of conjecture. That's expected, Edwin Krupp, director of the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, told The Huffington Post.
"Certainly, it's correct to say that most people are not used to looking at the sky, not used to evaluating either brightness, distance or angular size in the sky, and therefore, have a very good chance of misidentifying objects or effects in the sky," said Krupp. "There are all kinds of explanations for UFOs, and the least likely is that they're spacecraft from another world."

TCC - Seems to be moving rather slow for a meteor or space junk to me,but with lights in the sky it is hard to say for sure.
