Hairy creature scares three people in Shiawassee County, Michigan. The towns folks hear about the sightings of this unknown creature and take steps to protect themselves. Many of the residents say they will start packing some type of gun in case they have a run in with this hairy creature.

A few other people actually saw this hairy creature as it ran into the shallow south branch of the Shiawassee River. Several of them called the local police and two deputies were dispatched. Once on the scene the two deputies gave chase to the creature but never saw it. They reported hearing sloshing in the river.

Now, if I stopped right there you would probably assume this was a typical bigfoot sighting, but there is more to the story.

Bigfoot Bathing
Bigfoot bathing?
I was contacted by John Rodriguez, which by now most of you know him for his story and photo of what is being called a Bathing Bigfoot. The story ran on Huffington Post and there has been a lot of criticism of John Rodriguez and the photo. Former FBI agent and lead investigator of the Syfy Channel's "Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files" series, Ben Hansen offered some analysis of the photo and concluded it was a Photoshopped/digitally enhanced picture.

When Mr. Rodriguez emailed me, he also included some unreleased photos that he says he took that day. But before I get into those, I want to follow up on Ben Hansen's analysis. Over the last few years I have been able to speak via messaging with Ben Hansen and he is a really nice guy, so this is not a shot at him. I'm sure he has better sources and equipment than me. With that said I ran the Bathing Bigfoot photo on 3 different forms of software, software that helps detect if a photo has been altered in the form of Photoshop, here is the results of image 1 and image 2. None of the software identified the photos as having been altered with Photoshop.

In short, there were no glaring signs that the photo have been altered by Photoshop or any program.

There were also many asking for more photos and when Mr. Rodriguez emailed me, it seemed a little upset of the Photoshop claims. The photos where accompanied with this statement from him.

"I sent some photos I took to a researcher. They accused of photoshop which is totally untrue. Here are some bad one so thought had no value but maybe good for further evaluation."

Here are the other photos along with some enhancements and zooms I did.

Image 1

This is the first photo that Mr. Rodriguez attached to the email. It is basically the same as the one used in the Huffington Post article. The lighting is slightly different and there may be a slight angle difference. So there may not be much of interest in this photo but in the second image there is more to notice.

Image 2

In this photo the subject is a little more to the right and it appears Mr. Rodriguez was slightly closer or had zoomed his camera. There are some other interesting features that I will point out in enhanced photos below.

This is a zoom in of image 2. What I find interesting is the possibility that the mouth of the subject appears to be slightly opened. There also appears to be some duckweed on the head of the subject. If this is a living creature, could it have been ducking it's head under water? Was it bathing or could it have been possibly looking for food?

More enhancements below.

Comparison of the mouth from image 1 and 2.
Does it show that the mouth was slightly opened or is it just a trick of light and shadows? One thing that I should point out is the white strip of hair on the subjects head. It does not appear to be Photoshopped at all. Digital painting normally is noticeable in zooms.

More enhancements

Very tight zoom on the subjects face. Notice the eye, nose and mouth.

Also some have talked about the eye and the hair line.
So, I have made a couple of comparison photos using a gorilla with a odd looking hairline.

Just a quick comparison of a gorilla and the subject in the photo from Mr. Rodriguez. Also check out the nose. It is possible that the subject in the water looks a little different due to being in the water.

Eyes of a gorilla compared to the subject in the photos from Mr. Rodriguez.

Now for those who do not know the back story, let me summarize it quickly.

Back story overview
2015 began with a photo from John Rodriguez, a 66-year-old retired electrician, who claims that he was fishing Dec. 26 on the Hillsborough River near northeast Tampa, Florida, and came upon an incredible sight.

"I fish for gar in the river and I bring my camera to take pictures of the birds and what not. I heard a squishing sound, looked over and saw this thing walking through the water and crouch down in the duck weed. It did not look like a guy in a suit -- it was definitely an animal. I took this picture and got out of there as fast as I could."
"I've heard of Skunk Ape prints around Green Swamp [in Florida], but never anything like this," Rodriguez told HuffPost in an email. "My whole life, never seen anything like it."Rodriguez said he snapped the picture in the early afternoon at an area where the Hillsborough River becomes a cypress swamp

"I did not Photoshop this at all. Believe me or not," Rodriguez said. "When I plug in my memory card, it asks to import and opens in Photoshop. I just changed the name and saved. It seems like people get publicly crucified for coming forward with this kind of stuff."

Now, I will offer my opinion about the subject in Mr. Rodriguez photos.
First let me say, I do not think it to be a Bigfoot, if anything it is gorilla.
I can find no evidence that the photos are Photoshopped in any way, so that means that the subject was actually there. With that said, I do have many questions about the subject. What's with the white stripe? How deep is that swamp? Is it a living creature or a prop of some kind?  Could it just have been a pet or zoo gorilla?  So what is it? is it real? is it a hoax? is it something else? I really just don't know but I do not think it is a Bigfoot and is most likely a rubber movie prop type of thing.

In the end, we really don't know for sure about this subject but I would like to thank Mr. Rodriguez for contacting me and sharing the other photos. In the Bigfoot world, sharing possible photos of Bigfoot or possible evidence can cause a lot of grief.

Feel free to leave a comment on what you think about the subject.

Thanks
~Tom~

Before You Reject Another Bigfoot “Evidence” Photo, Know This
Objectivity and Faces In The Brush?
By Dorraine Fisher

Bigfoot investigators have the monumental task of sifting through piles of potential evidence submitted to them by people from all walks of life.  Breaking down blurry videos and “blobsquatch” photos are a big part of their everyday life. And they do all this very diligently, all while tolerating a certain amount of ridicule from skeptics and non-believers at the same time. It’s not an easy job.
And then, there are differences of opinion on the same bits of evidence. Is it real? Is it a reasonable case of mistaken identity.  Is it a hoax?

And every once in a while, I throw something into the mix to try and make us think a little bit harder about everything we’re thinking.  And I was doing a random internet search on related topics just to see what I could find.  And I came across the photo below.
And what do you think this is? Another bad supposed Bigfoot photo that needs red circles on it to tell us where we need to be looking?

No, this photo came from the blog of Gorilla Doctors. They are a veterinary group that has been working on helping and ultimately saving the lives of mountain gorillas since the project was first envisioned by gorilla researcher, Dian Fossey in 1984 in Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.  Dian Fossey, a real life researcher, was featured in the renowned movie about the poaching of mountain gorillas called Gorillas In The Mist.  She was murdered trying to protect them.

But her legacy lives on with Gorilla Doctors along with a group of very reliable researchers. And they claim there are at least seven or eight mountain gorillas in this photo.  And if Dian Fossey were alive today and told us the same thing, would we believe her?

In the Bigfoot community, we speculate and debate about how a creature can hide so well, and there are hundreds of these types of photos submitted as photographic evidence. And I’ll be the first to admit I’ve groaned and rolled my eyes more than a few times when I see these.  And Bigfoot skeptics like to try and rip the submitters of these types of photos to shreds.
Is it fair? Sometimes and sometimes not.

As I’ve said many times about Bigfoot, just because you can’t see something doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not there. But to many people, seeing is believing.  And that’s the only way they’ll believe. But what if reliable researchers or even scientists tell you something’s there, but you just can’t see it.  Is it any less “there?”

This photo could have easily been submitted to National Geographic magazine and casually described as illustrating how well mountain gorillas hide in the brush. But if someone submits the same types of photos and claims they are Sasquatches hiding, then there’s a problem. And the angry debate begins.

So what’s the difference?

The difference is gorillas are not cryptids. They are known to exist by science. Sasquatches are not…yet.

Now, I’m not saying that we should buy into every photo like this that we see. The Crypto Crew rejects 99.9 percent of photos and videos as fake or mistaken identity.  Because it’s our responsibility to scrutinize every piece of potential evidence and go over everything with a fine- tooth comb.  But what I am saying, and what I’m always saying is that we always need to be objective and sharp and open-minded in what we do. And sometimes that means taking something we don’t necessarily like at first and giving it a second look. And check the story behind it.  And someday, after we’ve proved Bigfoot exists, we’ll look back at some of these old Bigfoot photos and laugh about how we didn’t believe them because we couldn’t see what someone else swore was there. ********DF

TCH - This was just too Funny not to post....maybe one of the hoaxer got it on film and will post it on youtube.

This is what happens when a gorilla goes ape in a pizzeria.
Someone wearing a gorilla suit has repeatedly burst into a Little Caesars restaurants in Michigan and dumped sand on the floor, The Macomb Daily reports.
The most recent incident occurred at around 11 p.m. on Nov. 25 when the ape -- who is described as standing between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches -- emptied the bag of sand on the floor of an eatery in Southgate, authorities told the paper.
Once outside, the primate hopped into a dark blue Chevy Cobalt driven by an accomplice and made his getaway.
That eatery has been targeted multiple times by the gorilla, while another Little Caesars in nearby Lincoln Park has also played host to similar monkey business, according to The Macomb Daily.
Investigators believe that in the most recent incident, the sand had been stolen from a local hardware store.
An employee at the Little Caesar's declined to comment on the incident when reached by The Huffington Post.
People in gorilla suits aren't always the perpetrators of crime -- sometimes they are the victims.
Earlier this year, a man in a gorilla suit was attacked by someone in a banana suit in Ohio.

Yakini,the gorilla,who weights around 245 pounds,received a check-up from vets on Oct. 28.

Animal experts sedated the 12-year-old ape and gave him a thorough examination -- even clipping his nails -- before moving him to a new exhibit at the Werribee Open Range Zoo, near Melbourne.
This isn't Yakini's first trip to the doctor.
When the infant ape was birthed by Caesarean section in November, 1999, he wasn't breathing and his heart was hardly beating, according to The Daily Mail.
Placed under close watch by veterinarians, Yakini managed to pull through, capturing the world's attention in the process.
The gorilla matured into a popular fixture in his enclosure in the Melbourne Zoo -- but he might be best known for the time he spent outside of it.
In 2009, Yakini climbed out of his enclosure using a palm frond and briefly escaped. He strolled around the zoo while officials herded visitors into a gift shop to keep them safe, according to The Courier Mail.
Zookeepers reportedly shot Yakini with a tranquilizer and returned him to his enclosure.
In his latest move, Yakini won't be alone. His half-brother, Ganyeka, and his silverback father, Motaba, were also shipped in crates by truck to their new enclosure, which opens to the public on Nov. 7.
