Rant: Why Are There No Clear Videos or Photos of Bigfoot?

RANT the first.

Did a lot of soul-searching before writing this post. It is one of the most difficult I have done. But I can stay silent no longer. So here it is - My Rant.

A common cry: "Why are there no clear videos or photos of bigfoot?"

Yeah, I get that. We are all tired of the Shadowsquatch, the Blobsquatch, the Stumpsquatch, the Brushsquatch, the Groupsquatch. Somedays it can just make us scream with frustration. We enlarge, we enhance, we manipulate and we squint in despair at many of these photos and videos before shaking our heads and moving on.

Around the Campfire - Invasion of the Blobsquatches

It's time for another episode of Around the Campfire with Dorraine Fisher! In this episode, Dorraine gives her thoughts about the dreaded Blobsquatch pictures and videos. Have you ever seen a Blobsquatch? I'm guessing that if you have been around the Bigfoot community very long you have already seen more than your fair share of Blobsquatches.

Here is Episode 7

Before You Reject Another Bigfoot “Evidence” Photo, Know This
Objectivity and Faces In The Brush?
By Dorraine Fisher

Bigfoot investigators have the monumental task of sifting through piles of potential evidence submitted to them by people from all walks of life.  Breaking down blurry videos and “blobsquatch” photos are a big part of their everyday life. And they do all this very diligently, all while tolerating a certain amount of ridicule from skeptics and non-believers at the same time. It’s not an easy job.
And then, there are differences of opinion on the same bits of evidence. Is it real? Is it a reasonable case of mistaken identity.  Is it a hoax?

And every once in a while, I throw something into the mix to try and make us think a little bit harder about everything we’re thinking.  And I was doing a random internet search on related topics just to see what I could find.  And I came across the photo below.
And what do you think this is? Another bad supposed Bigfoot photo that needs red circles on it to tell us where we need to be looking?

No, this photo came from the blog of Gorilla Doctors. They are a veterinary group that has been working on helping and ultimately saving the lives of mountain gorillas since the project was first envisioned by gorilla researcher, Dian Fossey in 1984 in Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.  Dian Fossey, a real life researcher, was featured in the renowned movie about the poaching of mountain gorillas called Gorillas In The Mist.  She was murdered trying to protect them.

But her legacy lives on with Gorilla Doctors along with a group of very reliable researchers. And they claim there are at least seven or eight mountain gorillas in this photo.  And if Dian Fossey were alive today and told us the same thing, would we believe her?

In the Bigfoot community, we speculate and debate about how a creature can hide so well, and there are hundreds of these types of photos submitted as photographic evidence. And I’ll be the first to admit I’ve groaned and rolled my eyes more than a few times when I see these.  And Bigfoot skeptics like to try and rip the submitters of these types of photos to shreds.
Is it fair? Sometimes and sometimes not.

As I’ve said many times about Bigfoot, just because you can’t see something doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not there. But to many people, seeing is believing.  And that’s the only way they’ll believe. But what if reliable researchers or even scientists tell you something’s there, but you just can’t see it.  Is it any less “there?”

This photo could have easily been submitted to National Geographic magazine and casually described as illustrating how well mountain gorillas hide in the brush. But if someone submits the same types of photos and claims they are Sasquatches hiding, then there’s a problem. And the angry debate begins.

So what’s the difference?

The difference is gorillas are not cryptids. They are known to exist by science. Sasquatches are not…yet.

Now, I’m not saying that we should buy into every photo like this that we see. The Crypto Crew rejects 99.9 percent of photos and videos as fake or mistaken identity.  Because it’s our responsibility to scrutinize every piece of potential evidence and go over everything with a fine- tooth comb.  But what I am saying, and what I’m always saying is that we always need to be objective and sharp and open-minded in what we do. And sometimes that means taking something we don’t necessarily like at first and giving it a second look. And check the story behind it.  And someday, after we’ve proved Bigfoot exists, we’ll look back at some of these old Bigfoot photos and laugh about how we didn’t believe them because we couldn’t see what someone else swore was there. ********DF

Optical Zoom Camera
If you are a bigfooter, UFO hunter, Ghost hunter or just like to take pictures, you most likely use a camera with either a optical zoom or a digital zoom.

You may have never really thought about it very much but depending on whether your camera has a optical or digital zoom can really make a difference in your photographs.

First lets learn what these two zooms are and how they are different.

Optical Zoom is using lenses to enlarge the image. You push the zoom button and this normally extends or retracts the lens using an internal motor.
Optical zoom cameras are normally a little more bulky or heavy depending on the size of the zoom lens. Most of todays cameras are still small and light weight while still having a pretty good optical zoom.

Digital zoom which really started with video cameras but has crossed over to still cameras over the years is technically not really a zoom function. It simulates the image enlargement much the way you would if you had a picture on your computer and used software to enlarge it. In digital zoom cameras the image is enlarged with software rather with a extending a lens like optical zoom cameras.

So which one is better?
If you're looking to get the best, higher quality image then you should go with the Optical zoom camera. If you are taking pictures of something really far away you can even use a optical telephoto lens, they vary in sizes but can become pretty bulky and heavy.

A image that is enlarged/zoomed with a digital zoom camera has a greater risk of losing image quality and detail, but the higher the megapixel the less quality loss but there is still quality loss. If you are using a camera with digital zoom you are probably better off not using the zoom feature built into the camera and waiting until you have the photos on your computer and zoom them in with some photo software, there will be less quality loss.

Here is a couple of photo comparisons I pulled off of the internet.

I hope you found this short article helpful and always remember that the higher the megapixel the better regardless of whether you choose Optical or Digital zoom.  Maybe this will help keep us from getting so many blobsquatch photos....nah it won't.

Good Luck!

Thanks
~Tom~

Gordon Mullet
One independent Bigfoot researcher who has little name recognition and a highly individual viewpoint on the matter of Bigfoot is Gordon Mullet.
Gordon was a Friend of mine on Facebook and he contended with my use of the term "Eastern Bigfoot".
Gordon said he had been using the term to mean something specifically but it was in reference to a more apelike creature and not a more manlike form.

Gordon said it left tracks with an opposed big toe more like the apes rather than like humans, that they occurred over much of the Eastern United States at least from Ohio to Florida.
Gordon also cited those two places specifically and he said that he had seen examples of the tracks all over the area.

Tracks

All photos are from Gordon's Facebook wall. Gordon says that the tracks are much more like Orang Pendek tracks than the known types of apes, and that he captures the creatures , "Blobsquatch" images (The examples he gives are much too small to reproduce).
I can well believe these creatures are the same as Florida's Skunk Ape and Texas' Wood Apes.
The Bigfoot drawing below is Photoshopped by me to more closely resemble specific features of the reports from a much more generic Bigfoot drawing.

Bigfoot in New York - Enhancement

We know this video is not very good (watch in HD) but it is in the same area where the tree knocks video was recorded. Going frame by frame there is a figure that is walking on 2 legs in the video (yes it is very hard to see here on YT). I spent about 4 hours working on the video, it really is there. Still a major Blobsquatch/Blursquatch.
Here is the video

I know these pictures are kind of more like Blobsquatches but it is still a pretty interesting set of photos.
Steve Abney shared these photos over with the fine folk at cryptomundo. These photos are of Bigfoot he saw at the Carter Farm. To Us here at TCH it theses are all bigfoots then it is a family group or possibly a group of sasquatch hunting.
Steve added this to his message “these you can use, also the red thing picture, we do not know what it is, it ran on two legs behind our truck across the road and is about three feet tall,”.

Here is the other pictures.
