Respecting Nature

It's a topic on all the forums and in all the groups; a popular subject for memes. Respect Nature. So let's have a talk about that as the unofficial "Official Research Season" seems to be starting.

First off, it's not a bad thing to have enthusiasm when you go out searching. But along with that eagerness is the accountability you should also take with you. I always liked the advice given in Jurassic Park II on how to be on the island and observe the dinosaurs but leave no trace.

Know

We all have our "knows". We know what we know about bigfoot. We know we have seen him. We know we have heard him. We know we have seen evidence of his existence. We know we believe. But there is more to "know".

Odd Sound & A Teaching Moment

While on our short vacation to see family I recorded what is sometimes incorrectly called a bigfoot scream/sound. Everyone was in the house and I was outside sitting by the fire pit with a nice little fire going. It was roughly about 10:30pm at night and it was very quiet. Nearby there is a small but swift-moving creek. It was in this area I heard the first sound.

I knew the sound right away as I have heard it many times. Then the sound blasted several more times. I readied my cell phone in hopes of catching the sound. The first attempt was no good, as the sound seemed to have stopped. A few minutes passed and the sound started back and I was able to capture it on video.

Here is the video.

The Healing Power Of Nature

You have heard most researchers, hikers, and outdoors people in general talk about how they feel better after spending some time in nature. Studies are now confirming what many of us have been saying.

I personally get ran down, frustrated and even depressed if I spend too much time indoors. If I get to feeling this way, I will often take a trip to the woods and by the end of the adventure, I'm feeling much better and more like "myself".

A walk on a wooded trail can be very therapeutic. Just recently TCC's own Leo Frank took a day trip out in the mountains. One of his first comments, after returning home, was about how much better he felt.

Bigfoot Area & History Destroyed

On 9/3/21 I went to an area I had not been in this year. I knew there was some logging taking place in this area but I didn't realize just how bad it was. This is an area where I had found a lot bigfoot related evidence over the years, and a place where I like to hunt ginseng. I particularly liked this side of the mountain as it has fewer venomous snakes than the other side.

I tell a lot more about the area and my many years of exploring it, during the video. This is also the area where several episodes of Almost Live seasons 1 & 2 were filmed. I don't think it will ever be the same ..well at least not in my lifetime. For me, this was a very historic area that is part of my family history and it saddens me to see it totally annihilated in this manner.

Here is a rather long video from the area.

Field Research (9/2/21) Ginseng Time & Bigfoot Finds

Hey gang, I'm back with another post from a very recent outing. This is a great time of year for me. Not only do I get to go out looking for bigfoot evidence, but I also get to explore the Kentucky mountains for ginseng. I enjoy doing both and I'm glad I can share the adventures with everyone.

On this particular day, I went to my gifting area and left out some goodies. It was a quick trip as I wanted to hit the woods and look for ginseng. The ginseng season comes in on September 1st for us but I didn't get to go that day due to wind and rain. So I was excited to get out there.

While out on this adventure I had not one but two black bear encounters.

Check out the video below and then continue reading.

Hiking At Camp Blanton

We spent the better part of a day hiking at Camp Blanton. We show you the famous Knobby Rock and the labyrinth known as The Maze. By the end of the day, we had logged almost 9 miles of trekking through this 100-year-old forest.

Here is some info about Blanton Forest and Camp Blanton.
Blanton Forest is located on Pine Mountain in Harlan County and is the largest old-growth forest known in Kentucky.

Blanton Forest is named in honor of former owners Grover and Oxie Blanton. The Blantons purchased the land in 1928 and passed it on to their daughters with the understanding that it would never be logged.

Here is our video of our hike.

A Very Large and Curious Rat

I recently posted a video of two black bears fighting it out in the woods. But that was not all I caught on my game camera that was pretty interesting. While game cameras seem to have a very hard time capturing Bigfoot, they do from time to time capture some unique moments of known wildlife.

Game cameras can provide us a look at wildlife behavior that we rarely, if ever, get to see. These cameras also let us know what type of animals are visiting our area. So, while we may not catch a bigfoot very often, they are still useful and fun tools to use during research.

The next video I want to share with everyone is of a very large and curious rat, sometimes these are called mountain rats by locals. In the video, you will see this big fella climbing on a tree next to the game camera. The rat later jumps to the tree the game cam is on and his curious nature gets the best of him as he starts smacking the lock that is on the game cam. This particular game cam, a Browning, not only records video but also sound. While you can't see the rat playing with the lock, you sure can hear it.

The Age Of Aquarius And Why Astrology Is More Significant Than We Think

By Dorraine Fisher

Yes, it’s true. We’re slipping into the fabled Age of Aquarius. Astrologers believe it probably started back in 2012 when many people thought the world was ending. But was it just the end of a cosmic cycle?

I’m one of those, like many, that have considered astrology to be an amusing source of entertainment over the years. Something not to be taken too seriously. But the more I study it and watch what goes on in the world and with the people in it, I realize there might be something more to it.

Scientists will tell you that our astrological position in the cosmos has nothing to do with our personality or any of our birthrights. And in the past, that stance seemed perfectly logical to me. But that was before I really started listening to astrologers and started to think about it in a different way.

Let me first state that I'm not talking about people who are skeptical or those with legitimate questions. I'm referring to those who are absolute about Bigfoot not being real.

Before I go any further with my thoughts and ramblings, let me first give you an example that happened only a few days ago.

Monster Snake

Real or Fake - 15 Foot Eastern Brown Snake

This is another viral type post on social media. It is reportedly the largest Eastern Brown Snake ever recorded in one version of the tale. The length of an average size brown snake is about 5.5 feet but this monster is said to be 15 foot long!
The social post claims it was caught near a golf course at Caloundra, Queensland, Australia. The post about the snake is normally accompanied by 2 or 3 photos and the message "Golf anyone?" Two of the photos are the one above and a close up of the snake's mouth and teeth. Here is that photo.
Dangerous
The other version of the story is of a 15 foot Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake being caught south of Jacksonville, FL.

As you can see this is very scary, but is it Real or Fake?

There is a dual answer here, the photos are for sure REAL but in the Australian version it claims to be a Brown snake and that it's from Australia . Both of these claims are FAKE.

The snake featured in the social media post is a Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake that was actually caught at St. Augustine, Florida back in 2009. The snake was only about 7 foot long and not 15 foot as the post claims.

Of course the snake does look really large but that is due to forced perspective.
The forced perspective technique manipulates our human perception with the use of optical illusions to make objects appear larger, smaller, farther, or closer than they actually are. Here is an example.

REAL or FAKE = Mixed

The photos of the snake are REAL but the size and stories about them are mostly FAKE. In the American version some of the statistics about the snakes, including weight, are pulled out of the air.

Thanks
~Tom~
