Bigfoot Area & History Destroyed

On 9/3/21 I went to an area I had not been in this year. I knew there was some logging taking place in this area but I didn't realize just how bad it was. This is an area where I had found a lot bigfoot related evidence over the years, and a place where I like to hunt ginseng. I particularly liked this side of the mountain as it has fewer venomous snakes than the other side.

I tell a lot more about the area and my many years of exploring it, during the video. This is also the area where several episodes of Almost Live seasons 1 & 2 were filmed. I don't think it will ever be the same ..well at least not in my lifetime. For me, this was a very historic area that is part of my family history and it saddens me to see it totally annihilated in this manner.

Here is a rather long video from the area.

Been Sick, But Back Out Looking For Tracks

It's not been a secret but I've been really sick for around two weeks. I'm finally getting over it and thought I would take a trip to the mountains. I gassed up the old ATV and hit the Kentucky Mountains.

It was a beautiful sunny day and the temperature was very warm, especially for this time of year. As usual, I took my cell phone so I could share the little adventure with everyone.

Here is a short video that includes some pictures and things I found.

Hope you enjoy it.

Hi Gang, I'm going to keep this a very short post. I finally got a chance to get back in the mountains and boy I can tell you I really needed it. All this sitting around was getting to me.

Well, anyways I had a very good day hunting ginseng and looking for Bigfoot evidence. Found some good-sized ginseng and some interesting stick formations in the woods.

Please check out the video, and I hope you enjoy it.

Exploring for Ginseng and Bigfoot - Day 3

Another beautiful day and another day for an adventure out in the mountains of southeast Kentucky!
I return to an area where there has been bigfoot activity in the past. Hunting ginseng is very enjoyable to me and it gives me yet another reason to get out in the mountains.

During this exploration I encounter a bear, show you some possible bigfoot structures, and a few other things I think you might find interesting.

Back to Bigfooting!

I finally got a chance to get back out in the mountains. Going to the mountains is very relaxing to me, it helps keep me centered. I head out to one of my bigfoot areas and exchange some game cams. This is an area I have researched for many years. Over the years it has produced many interesting findings and experiences for me.

For this little trip, I take you along for the outing. Hope you enjoy the short video.

I've got a little bit of a story to share with everyone today. Recently, I had to have some work done on our sewer system here at the house. During that time I had to removed most of my back yard patio. The patio was made of 12 inch square patio block. I had not put them back yet as after the sewer work was done, I had a lot of left over dirt I had to move first. It took me 3 days to move the dirt by hand with a wheel barrel, and spread the remainder out. Once I got that done, about 3 weeks or more ago, I've been busy and been putting off placing the patio blocks back.

Well, today with it being a nice cool October morning, I thought I would get out there and get them patio block back in place. It is this time of year that we sometimes build a small fire in the fire pit and enjoy the cool nights. So, I need to get them patio blocks back down and in place.

Mountain Time - Send in the Bears!

As many of you know, I spend a large amount of time out in the mountains doing everything from Bigfoot research to just exploring. Well, I also do ginseng hunting, when it is in season, to go along with my search for Bigfoot evidence.

On this particular day, October 18th, I had a specific area I wanted to get into. The reason was that in the years gone by I had found a good amount of ginseng in that area. I had also found several Bigfoot-related findings in this particular area over the years. This included Bigfoot tracks and several possible stick structures.

As I entered the area I found a few interesting and possible Bigfoot-related items. But what happened next forced me to leave that immediate area. I encounter three bears that included a mother bear and two cubs. But that was not the end of my encounters with bears on that day. I have decided to release a video of how this day when. The video is a little longer than what I was shooting for but I did cut it down quite a bit.

Here is the video.

A few days ago I ran a report about a bigfoot chasing an ATV and that report was tied in to a local report about of a very similar event. In the local event, some of the witnesses are people I actually know.

I received an email from a person who lives near the area where the local event took place. He shared a trio of odd things that have happened to him and his family around their home. I now have his permission to share his stories.

These event took place over several years.

Almost Live | Rock Stack Explained | S1E8

Welcome to another episode of Almost Live. This is episode 8 in the series. In this episode, I'm in one of the roughest areas I have been in this year. The area was thick with briers and high weeds. The high weeds hid potholes and rocks. I actually re-injured my left leg and had to take several days off because of it. The leg is feeling much better so I may get to take another trip out before too long.

I found a few interesting things during this journey, including the above Rock Stack. Rock stacks are sometimes thought to be made by Bigfoot. I explain how and why this one was made.

Hope you enjoy the episode.

Rare Animal Sighting In Kentucky

While some animals are very well known, sometimes the color of the creature throws the animal into the rare category. We all know that coyotes come in a wide range of colors, but a solid black coyote is very rare. Some coyotes are dark in color and even have some black hair. But a solid black coyote is considered almost as rare as an albino.

So, I was surprised when a local woman sent me a video from here in my county of what appears to be a black coyote.

Here is the video with some enhancements

My Crypto World - Bigfoot & Wildfires!

In this episode, I talk about the recent Bigfoot seminar and I talk about some of the devastating wildfires that are going on in my area. I also talk about possible upcoming episodes and other future projects.

I have attempted to keep this episode rather short. I hope you enjoy the episode.

Bigfooting in the Mountains of Kentucky

Team member Jason Morse finally got a chance to come to my home state of Kentucky and do a little bigfoot research with me. Jason drove 15 hours or more to be here and spend a couple days in Kentucky. While he was here I took him into one of the areas where there has been known bigfoot activity. We were able to find some pretty good evidence, that I will share in an upcoming video in the next few days. Jason also attended the Bigfoot Seminar in Harlan County and told about his first bigfoot sighting.

The only way I can tell this possible event is to back up a few days and fill in some gaps. First, it is ginseng season and that puts me in the woods several times a week. Often times, I'm in very remote areas. Areas that you can only reach if you walk for a few hours. So, a few days ago I was in an area, an area where I have been many times and didn't really feel as if there were bigfoot in it. I do know there are bigfoot in the general area but I didn't feel like there was any on this particular area of the mountain. I had never really seen any thing that would make me think that bigfoot was in this particular spot.

Bigfoot Hunting!

Just a little bit before I went on vacation, I took to the ATV to do a little bigfoot hunting. I returned to a spot where I may have captured a picture of a bigfoot and I scout around for some tracks. Now, that I have a vacation over I plan on getting out a lot more. I hope you enjoy the video.

Bigfoot Hunting!

Thursday, September 24, 2015

Here in my area of Kentucky, we have a growing black bear population. This has led to an increase in sightings and run-ins with bears. For many years now I have never carried a firearm while out in the mountains but that recently changed for me.

Over the last month, I have been out 4-6 times a week looking for ginseng. I enjoy the outdoors and I like digging the sought-after root and maybe I can make a few bucks at the end of the season. Well, about a week ago I was coming out of a place where I have been hunting ginseng and I passed another ATV going into the hollow. It is a guy I know and I later found out he had been hunting ginseng in this area as well. I later found out that while he was in there a bear charged him that same day. He was able to back up and fire off his pistol a few times to scare off the bear. He did report it and the Fish and Wildlife people came and set out a large trap for the bear but they never caught it.

On the day the bear charged the man, I encountered what I thought was a bear but I never could see it. I'm still hunting ginseng in the very area but now I have decided to pack my pistol with me. I have no intentions of shooting a bear unless it is absolutely necessary but firing off a few shots in the air or in the ground might stop a possible attack.

With that said, I thought it might be a good idea to post about what to do to avoid a bear attack and what to do if a bear charges you.
Here we go, with some tips. Remember, each person should weigh their situation and use their own judgments as to the appropriate actions to take.

   * Hike or hunt in a group if possible. If you go alone, like me, don't be so stealthy. Make some noise or do some singing. I personally have started to sing softly to myself but yet loud enough to give a bear a warning that someone is coming. This will give the bear time to move on.

   * If you see the bear at a good distance, back up slowly and/or find an alternative route.

   * If a black bear charges you, stand your ground and make some noise. Waving your arms is normally a good thing to do. Do not run! A bear can run around 30 mph, you can't outrun it. If the bear thinks you mean business, it may lose interest and move on.

   * Carry Pepper spray. If a black bear charges you, pepper spray will normally make it change its mind and move on. If you carry a firearm you can shoot it in the air or ground and the loud bang might get the bear to move on.

   * If none of this works and the bear actually attacks you, then fight back. Use anything you can find, sticks, rocks, or your own hands. Hit the bear on the snout and near the eyes. The bear may decide it is not worth it and give up. If you still can't discourage the bear and it gets you down, ball up and clasp your interlocked fingers over the back of your neck and pull your elbows in next to your face. If you have a backpack on it will help absorb some of the blows. Hopefully, the bear will give up and move on. If, the bear gives up and moves on, lay there for 20 minutes or more before getting up, as sometimes bears are slow to move on and will keep watching you.

Most bear attacks are defensive attacks, meaning the bear feels threatened by you, or is protecting cubs, or protecting a kill site or maybe you just startled it. In these cases, you can normally back away slowly and talk softly to let it know you are not a threat. Once the bear sees you are not a threat, it will move on. A predatory attack is even more serious, although much more rare for black bears. In this type of attack, a bear is stalking you and has the intention of using you for food. Playing dead is not a good idea and you must fight for your life.

The main thing is to be alert and keep an eye out for black bears. Avoid them if at all possible. Let others know where you will be hiking or hunting at and your expected return time. A black bear standing on its back legs only stands about 5 feet tall or less. But don't let that fool you, black bears can be very dangerous.

Enjoy the woods and be safe!

 Thanks
~Thomas~
