Russian Research

When most people think of the possibility of sasquatch-type creatures on the other side of the world, they immediately think of "Yeti." However, there is much more information out there by the Russians than anything from the Himalayas. The only problem is that not much of it is widely publicized in English.

There are some publications and some authors that will publish translations. And with internet programs available that will translate, if the material is on the internet, you can get some idea of what is being said.

Bigfoot Research & Game Cam Pick-Up

This is just a short post and video of my short adventure this morning. It was a very nice morning and the temperature was great for getting out in the woods.

The agenda was to pick up a game camera and explore the area a little.

Here is a short video followed by some commentary and an image.

Field Research (9/2/21) Ginseng Time & Bigfoot Finds

Hey gang, I'm back with another post from a very recent outing. This is a great time of year for me. Not only do I get to go out looking for bigfoot evidence, but I also get to explore the Kentucky mountains for ginseng. I enjoy doing both and I'm glad I can share the adventures with everyone.

On this particular day, I went to my gifting area and left out some goodies. It was a quick trip as I wanted to hit the woods and look for ginseng. The ginseng season comes in on September 1st for us but I didn't get to go that day due to wind and rain. So I was excited to get out there.

While out on this adventure I had not one but two black bear encounters.

Check out the video below and then continue reading.

Sasquatch Field Trip in the Eastern Kentucky Appalachian Foothills
May 18-20, 2021 with Thomas Marcum

I am Guy Luneau, a 58 year old (here in May 2021) retired chemical engineer from Arkansas. I was born and raised here, worked in Texas in polymers/plastics technology for a career, then Joan, our son Scott, and I returned to Arkansas after retirement to leave the faster-paced Texas behind us.

I have studied Sasquatch for several decades. My interest in and study of the subject matter accelerated after I had an encounter 15 years ago with what likely were two Sasquatches in the Lower Buffalo Wilderness region of the northern Arkansas Ozark Mountains. In the darkness of night in mid-April 2006 at 4:15 a.m. while at my tent camp site, I was eating my breakfast and preparing for my third and final day of my wild turkey hunt. It was mid-week in mid-April. I had not seen nor heard any humans for 2+ days since launching my canoe into the Buffalo River – no canoeists, no hunters, and in fact, I had not heard even a single gunshot from another turkey hunter for 2+ days. Within 3 seconds of each other at 4:15 a.m., two very loud, very clear, hooOOO-op calls rang out of the mountainous forest. The first call was of an animal to the southwest of me on the south side of the Buffalo River. The answered call 3 seconds later was from a second animal, this one on the north side of the Buffalo River. I sat there stunned wondering what species those animals could be. I was stunned because I had never heard such calls in the natural setting.

Last Field Research Trip of the Year

I meant to share this video much sooner than now, but I got busy and had some things come up. This was my last Bigfoot field research trip of 2019. It was a relatively short trip. We had some snow for a couple of days, and as it melted off, I decided to go to one of my Bigfoot areas. Over the years I have found a lot of tracks, stick formations, and more in this area.

I did not stay out long this day and didn't have all my normal gear with me. I was dressed well enough for my journey but a deeper trek into the forest was not about to happen.

Here is the short video -

Mountain Time! Exploring the Kentucky Woods

Hey Gang, today I took a few hours to explore the mountains here in my beautiful state of Kentucky.
While out I of course was looking for bigfoot evidence but I was also our looking for ginseng. I managed to get into some very rough and steep areas, but I had a blast and enjoyed it.

I made a short video of today's adventure and I did find a few interesting things.
Check out the video.

Okay, so I'm looking over an event that was taking place fairly close to me. It seemed like it could be a cool event with lots of activities for the whole family. I had never heard of the people putting it on or of any reports from this general area. I'm all for these events that offer family fun and a chance to learn about bigfoot. Many of these events are also very good for our local communities. It brings people into our area and while they are here they spend money and learn about our towns.

As most people know small towns like the ones in my area have struggled financially over the last several years. In our area coal was/is our main industry. The war on coal really hurt many small towns like mine.

Almost Live | Ginseng Hunting & Bigfooting | S1E7

Welcome to another episode of Almost Live. This is a very busy time of year for me. This is ginseng season. The time of year that I'm in the mountains more than normal. I do spend large amounts of time in the forest, but during ginseng season I'm out even more. I enjoy hunting ginseng and it gives me yet another reason to walk the mountains. It also gives me more opportunities to search for bigfoot-related evidence. To travel into areas I normally do not get in but a couple times a year. It is a chance to learn more about nature, animals, and bigfoot.

With that said, here is episode 7 of Almost Live, I hope you enjoy it.

Almost Live | Sick, But Doing it Anyway | S1E6

Welcome to yet another episode of Almost Live. In this episode, I was not feeling very good but I sure didn't want a nice day to pass me by. I covered a pretty large area hunting for ginseng and looking for possible bigfoot sign.  I did find some ginseng and some other things that you might find interesting.

Here is the episode.

Bigfoot and Game Cams - Field Research

My day started pretty early this morning. I headed out to retrieve my game cameras from Area 1. The plan was to pick up the cams and then return home to see what was actually on the cameras and then head back out to another location. So, this was to be a quick in and out on the retrieval.

I documented the retrieval process and inserted the game cam captures in the video. One major bummer was that the Browning game cam malfunctioned and most of the videos were corrupted and were not viewable.  I actually have software that attempts to save the video, but it didn't work on the videos.

In any case, here is the short video of the retrieval and game cam captures.

Almost Live | Amazing Discoveries | S1E3

Welcome to Episode 3 of Almost Live. My original thinking was that this would be a slightly shorter episode than the last, but it actually turned out to be a little longer. Today was very good and it has got me a little excited. I make several interesting discoveries and find some pretty good ginseng. Sometimes as a bigfoot researcher, you get in a lull and need to find some stuff to re-energize your battery. Today was one of those days for me, even though I have been finding things, today was a day that really uplifted me.

Here is the episode I hope you enjoy the video, it is a bit long but stay with it.

Almost Live | Ginseng and Bigfoot | S1E2

Okay, I'm back with another raw, uncut episode of Almost Live. This second episode is full of some very interesting things. This episode is much longer and much better, I think.
Any time I go out looking for ginseng, I also keep an eye out for any bigfoot-related findings...and today I was not disappointed.

More Bigfoot Research With Some Good Results

Monday was the big day of the eclipse, so what better way to spend it than to be out in the forest. I set out early that morning. I was going to traverse several miles of terrain and retrieve my game cameras. It was a very hot and humid day. It didn't take long before my clothes were soaked with sweat, but it felt good to be out in the woods.

The plan was to not only retrieve my game cameras but to set up fresh ones in their place. I also wanted to explore and look for signs that Bigfoot was still in the area. I know from past experience that bigfoot pass through this particular area often. The area, once again, did not disappoint. I was able to find a couple of possible stick structures, a few tree breaks, and one very large footprint impression.

Here is a short video of the outing.

This report comes from our team out in Oregon. As some of  you may know Bobby and Corinna often times use bigfoot research as a family outing. Many times they take their children with them while out conducting filed research. This time, it was Bobby's son Hunter who discovered this possible old bigfoot track.

Here is the details about the track.

A nice little stream

Bigfoot Field Research (4/18/2015)

I finally got a chance to get back out in my research area, an area I like to call Area 1.
It had been about 3 months ago that I was in this area, so I was ready to get out there.

This took place on 4/18/15.

Of course, the mountains are always beautiful, and being out there alone just seems good for the soul.
My purpose of going out was to set up several game cams, and scope out the area to see if anything new had happened the other reason was to attempt to find the exact spot where the game cam was set when I got the picture of the bigfoot. There will be a separate post about that, this is just a general overview of some of the areas and some of what I did.

I thought it would be best to just share a quick video to should you some of the areas and some of my thoughts.

Here is the video.

Jay checking out some tree breaks

Well, we finally made it to our 20th episode/post in our "Interviews" series. In this short interview we talk with Jay Haas, a researcher from Iowa.

Jay shares his research in the Bigfoot Network of the Midwest group found on facebook.

Here is our interview.

TM: How long have you been researching/studying Bigfoot?
JH: actively since 2001

TM: What got you interested in Bigfoot, Was there a particular event that got you started?
JH: I had encounters from childhood.

TM: During your research/studying of Bigfoot, have you ever encountered aggressive behavior or felt in danger from a Bigfoot?(details please)
JH: At 16 yrs old, a friend an I got a vocalization warning at very close range. I will never forget it.

TM: It seems Skeptics are always ready to attack Bigfoot research, How do you deal with it?
JH: I don't worry about others. They have a right to there opinion. My friend was a non believer at the kitchen table. Then he had an encounter with me. He can no longer deny. Some can't accept without some kind of encounter, that fine with me.

TM: Would you like to see Bigfoot accepted and/or proven to the general public?
JH: Yes.

TM: What is your favorite time of year to research/study Bigfoot, When do you have your most success?
JH: I like different seasons.Winter for tree structures, I seem to be most success during summer. I love to go out at night with no wind.

TM: Do you have a favorite Bigfoot story or report?
JH: Albert Ostman Story of him being kidnapped by Sasquatch.

TM: What would you be doing if you wasn't researching/studying Bigfoot?
JH: I would be missing out on a very precious opportunity.

Thanks for taking part in the interview, keep us posted on your Bigfoot research.

- End of Interview -

Actual Bigfoot field research can sometimes be very challenging with difficult terrain, insects, snakes and a host of other possible pitfalls. We have to have "Boots on the ground" to make headway. As a researcher myself I can appreciate people like Jay and the others I have interviewed, for actually facing these obstacles of field research.

We who do this often times face a lot of ridicule for our interest in Bigfoot. It is also a somewhat costly endeavor and time consuming. It takes some determination and drive to continue researching. My hope is that by doing these short interviews, researchers get some recognition for their hard work and efforts. I hope you will take the time to read some of our past interviews with these researchers.

Have a blessed day.

Thanks
~Tom~

Research in Area 1

This post by Thomas Marcum, Thomas is the founder/leader of the cryptozoology and paranormal research organization known as The Crypto Crew. Research in Area 1 - Game Cams

In my previous youtube video, Something Turns Game Cam, I stated I have more videos to edit and get ready to post, well below you will find about a 17-minute video showing me setting up the game cams and after 30+ days returning to pick them back up. To my surprise game cam #2 had been turned and the cam caught 3 videos of the turning and the creature that did it. The video below it shows all 3 of the videos.

I know some may find this type of Bigfoot research video boring but this is how it really happens. It's a lot of trial and error and a lot of hours spent in the woods.

I do know this area has Bigfoot in it, I just have to keep working and looking for evidence. Some without a doubt will not like how I do my game cams but I'm experimenting around to see if I can get more results. After all, I did manage to get a game cam photo of a Bigfoot in 2013.

Here is the video and also let me know what you think about "Hat Cam"

Looking for Bigfoot
Game Cam Deployed!

Follow up Field Research

Well, with me finally feeling better, been sick over a month, and the weather finally improving, I decided to go back to a bigfoot sighting area, that is still active, and set up a game cam. I first reported this sighting back in Sept. of 2013 and did a witness interview. The post along with the witness interview can be found by Clicking Here. I also did some field work when the sighting happened and it can be found by Clicking Here.

On my trip to set the game cam I was able to find what could be a possible old track. Another interesting thing about this possible track was that right close to it was two piles of scat. I was hoping to check out the scat better but the dog stepped all in the more fresh pile. It was not scat like a bear or dog, it seemed more human like.
Here is the photo of the possible old track, remember it has rained and snowed on it several times.

Possible old bigfoot track
Possible Old Track
Back in Sept of 2013 I found several fresh tree breaks and twist in this area and upon my return trip I found a few more odd things.
I found a possible arch, it appeared to be bent and wedged under some brush and a old fallen tree.
Here is a photo of it
  Possible Tree Arch

Here is another picture, this may be nothing but it seemed odd to me and there was three or four tree breaks right under this standing tree.

I feel this area is still active and appears to be a traveling area for bigfoot. I have also spoken with some people who live right next to this area and they were wondering what is passing by their house late at night about 2-3 times a week. Their dogs and other dogs close by go crazy and I personally am woken up often by this. All this is taking place right in my little area. I should also note that there is a small cave on the opposite facing ridge.

While being back in the woods, I found a trail that was pretty wore down and appear to be getting some traffic. The ground was too hard for tracks but that possible old track was right off this worn path.

I will continue to research the area and try to keep my game cam out through this year.

Thanks
~Tom~
