Ah Valentines day, why not have a post showing a romantic couple embraced near the seaside while getting photobombed by what many say is a sea monster. Love is in the air and it appears to have attracted an unexpected spectator. This photo has caused a minor stir on several websites and social media. Many are saying it is some type of sea monster that just happened to surface at the right time.

At first glance, I was like "look at that" and then I checked it out more and thought "Hey, I know what that is".

Whoa, this picture posted on facebook by Richard Christianson has gone viral. It has been shared over 80 thousands times and been featured in numerous videos, forums and blogs. Many people say it is a demon or an angel. One person even said it was an elephant, huh?

The eerie standing figure is a rather frightful image. There has been much debate about the figure. What is it? Is it a hoax? and on and on.

While others find the picture fascinating and think the image could be supernatural, I think there is a more earthly explanation to the figure.

Lets explore to find out more about it.

The Fallen Angel Of Catalonia - Follow Up
by Dorraine Fisher

There's a lot of fake material out there. And sometimes we forget to say that we don't believe every bit of it. Just because we post it here, doesn't mean we think it's real. And a lot of what we post is to address what's going on on the internet, or simply for entertainment purposes. I think the internet is full of videos in which budding filmmakers put their material out there to see what kind of response they can get and judge their own skills.
I posted a video the other day called The Fallen Angel of Catalonia, which we all believed was most likely a fake. And it had every element of one of those "entertainment purposes" videos. And there was a really good reason for that. Check out this video of the making of The Fallen Angel of Catalonia.

And they wonder why we cryptozoologists and paranormal chasers are so cynical.

Wolf or Werewolf
The above picture was reported taken in New York back in January of this year. The figure seems rather odd shaped and some say it is a werewolf, while others say it is some kind of new undiscovered wolf. If you notice it seems the back legs and feet have a more human appearance, than say, a dog or wolf.

I thought I would attempt to zoom in on the canine looking figure to see if we can gather any more details. But it seems the picture is just too low in quality to achieve much in the way of details. Some speculated that the figure could be a hoax and photoshopped. That may be the case but it is worth a look.

What do you think?

Next up is a crazy video of a reportedly unknown creature filmed in Portugal. Some say it is some type of alien, while others say it is some type of Bigfoot and some even said it was the legendary Chupacabra.
Here is the video.

Huh? What in the world is that thing?

Well, it is very slow moving and has arms that almost drag the ground. But many questions arise about this video. Notice how the color is really drab? Could there be a reason for this? Maybe.
This "unknown creature" reminds me of a video from several years ago. The one where an odd creature is seen in the background of a news report. That video was from Argentina.
Here is a still frame from that old video.

If anyone would like to view this video you can do so at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FkEuh7vMX4

The two creature do appears similar. The thing is that the Argentina creature was an admitted CGI animation and a hoax. The figure in the Portugal video looks very CGI to me. So, I would not be surprised if at some point the hoax is admitted or exposed.

Whelp, there you have a couple interesting things from the world wide web. I would be interested in hearing what others have to say about these. Are they at all believable to you? Do you think they are just hoaxes to get attention?
What do you think?

Thanks

Watch the lady standing with her arms crossed...where did she go?
During a live broadcast a woman seemingly vanishes. Some have speculated that the woman was really a ghost or maybe even an alien. Some suggest that she just happens to be moving with and behind the lady pushing the cart. But I can't see how she would be walking behind the cart pusher as there appears to be a table in the way.

It is still a pretty cool clip, even if the lady is actually walking behind the cart pusher.

What do you guys think? is it paranormal activity or she is just blocked from being seen?

Update- one thing I seem to notice in the above clip. There is a reflection in the silver canister on the left. You can see the cart pusher but I don't see the vanishing lady. I would assume I would be able to see the vanishing lady also walking in the reflection if she was walking right beside cart pusher lady. So, still kind of weird.  Also I don't see a shadow on the floor ...could be an angle thing again.

The Crypto Files - Bigfoot or No Bigfoot?

This is the first episode and kind of a test episode, for a series I call The Crypto Files. The videos will be short, only a few minutes at best, and it will cover many different topics. In this first test, the "pilot", episode we take a quick look at 3 photographs that are making waves on social media.

We give a little information on each photograph and comment on what others have said about them. We do some quick enhancements and move the video along. In the end, we try to leave it up to you to decide for yourself.

Without further ado, here is episode 1 "Bigfoot or No Bigfoot?"

Fairy?

This post by Thomas Marcum, Thomas is the founder/leader of the cryptozoology and paranormal research organization known as The Crypto Crew. Just thought that I would take the time to return to my little series "Real or Fake". For those who don't know, I take a popular story or photo and attempt to either confirm it as Real or confirm it as Fake.

Today I want to take a closer look at the Derbyshire Fairy story/photos. The story kind of goes like this:
" A man, who wishes to remain anonymous, was out walking his dog when he found the remains of a Fairy in the Derbyshire countryside. The remains are about 8 inches long and has long flowing red hair. The tiny being was x-rayed and it revealed that the bones were hollow like a birds....."

You get the idea. There were several photos of the fairy that accompanied the story. The "Police Evidence" bag adds what many to believe credibility to the story.  I still see thee pictures passed around on various website and many have concluded it is a real fairy...but lets dig deeper.

Come to find out this was intended to be an Aprils fools joke but it caught fire and is still burning in many circles.

In 2007, Dan Baines, a 31-year-old illusion designer for magicians from London posted the photos online. Some evidence of the "prank" are still left over on this page -   http://www.lebanoncircle.co.uk/DeadFairy.htm  - Although there are no pictures of the fairy on the link, the name of company pretty much lets you know that they make Props of this kind. One look at the "Collections" link will give you a taste of the excellent props they can create.

Once Baines came clean many people suggested that it was a cover up to hide the fact it was a real fairy. It is reported that Baines was got around 20,000 hits in one day and numerous emails about the fairy.

This big interest in the fairy prompted Baines to cash in on the hype and he put the fairy for sell on ebay.  The item brought almost $500.

Some of story and the rest of the photos can be found at
  http://web.archive.org/web/20070406172838/http://www.lebanoncircle.co.uk/DeadFairy.htm
It is slow to load and errors out...so give it a few tries.

After all of this and the fact that Baines admitted it was fake ..some still hold the fairy as being real.

Derbyshire Fairy Story - Fake!

It is good workmanship.

Monster Snake

This post by Thomas Marcum, Thomas is the founder/leader of the cryptozoology and paranormal research organization known as The Crypto Crew. Real or Fake - 15 Foot Eastern Brown Snake

This is another viral type post on social media. It is reportedly the largest Eastern Brown Snake ever recorded in one version of the tale. The length of an average size brown snake is about 5.5 feet but this monster is said to be 15 foot long!
The social post claims it was caught near a golf course at Caloundra, Queensland, Australia. The post about the snake is normally accompanied by 2 or 3 photos and the message "Golf anyone?" Two of the photos are the one above and a close up of the snake's mouth and teeth. Here is that photo.
Dangerous
The other version of the story is of a 15 foot Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake being caught south of Jacksonville, FL.

As you can see this is very scary, but is it Real or Fake?

There is a dual answer here, the photos are for sure REAL but in the Australian version it claims to be a Brown snake and that it's from Australia . Both of these claims are FAKE.

The snake featured in the social media post is a Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake that was actually caught at St. Augustine, Florida back in 2009. The snake was only about 7 foot long and not 15 foot as the post claims.

Of course the snake does look really large but that is due to forced perspective.
The forced perspective technique manipulates our human perception with the use of optical illusions to make objects appear larger, smaller, farther, or closer than they actually are. Here is an example.

REAL or FAKE = Mixed

The photos of the snake are REAL but the size and stories about them are mostly FAKE. In the American version some of the statistics about the snakes, including weight, are pulled out of the air.

Thanks
~Tom~
