The following report happened less than a week ago. The report was not submitted through our "report a sighting" link but was instead told to us by someone we know very well.  The person who experienced this is a straight forward person, honest and not a person who makes things up. This happened here in my general area, in a place called Wallins Creek. Here is what happened.

Someone had passed away and a few people got together to take the family some food. This is a normal customary thing that people do for families that have suffered a death. Well, as they were standing outside the church, they heard this scream/howl from the side of the mountain. They told us that the scream "started off kind of human sounding" but as it went on it grew in volume and got much deeper.  Of course, after hearing what he described as "a horrifying sound" he ask the people standing with him what was making the sound. They told him they did not know but that they hear it all the time.

So, the guy who heard this got to listen to some sounds of an elk and was able to confirm that it was not an elk. This scream/howl happened in the daytime, which is kind of rare, as most howls are heard at night or early in the mornings.

As, for the area, I do know that some bigfoot tracks were found on a couple of the old strip mine roads. They were found by some ATV riders. This area and mountain range ties right into my area and an area of a few reported sightings.

With what I know of this area, and the person that told us this, I would say that the scream/howl was most likely made by a bigfoot. Of course, I did not hear the sound but the only thing we have around here that might do that type of sound, would be an elk. But elk was ruled out after he heard it. So, that would only really leave 2 possibilities, either a person or a bigfoot. So that makes it all the more interesting.

Events like this are difficult, people want to know why you didn't record it. But it happens so randomly and is so unexpected that there is just no way to get a recorder out. Now, the people who live in the area and say they heard the sound often, could possibly get a recording but I assume most are probably not interested in bigfoot so they don't even think about it.

Well, it's been a long time since my last interview, but this one here will make number 21 in the series. What better way to get it back going again, than with a young man that is well on his way to achieving great things in the cryptozoology field. Jack Tessier is the chairman and CEO of Australian Cryptozoology Research Organization (A.C.R.O.) . Please note that the Australian version of Bigfoot is called a Yowie.

Tom: How long have you been researching/studying bigfoot?

Jack: I've being researching Yowies for almost 2 years now.


Tom: What got you interested in Bigfoot, Was there a particular event that got you started?


Jack: I got interesting after watching Bigfoot Files on TV.

Tom: During your research/studying of Bigfoot, have you ever encountered aggressive behavior or felt in danger from a bigfoot?(details please)


Jack: I've felt in danger once when I was walking on a narrow dirt bush track in Southeast Queensland the bush was eerily quiet and I heard something moving through there.

Tom: It seems Skeptics are always ready to attack bigfoot research, How do you deal with it?


Jack: When it comes to harsh skeptics I don't think a lot of them are open minded enough to do fully genuine research and if they get out of control with bullying because of my beliefs then I usually shrug them off.

Tom: Would you like to see Bigfoot accepted and/or proven to the general public?

Jack: I'd love to see them proven to the public but as much as I believe they are out there, until actual scientists have proven their existence we won't be able to change peoples minds.

Tom: What is your favorite time of year to research/study bigfoot, When do you have your most success?

Jack: I have most of my success in summer when researching.

Tom: Do you have a favorite Bigfoot story or report?

Jack: The most intriguing report of a Yowie would have to be a report I received where a woman was staying in a hotel right up against the bush here in Lake Macquire and heard what she thought were 2 felines fighting and it went for 20 minutes but she realized it was coming from deep in the bush. Then that next morning another woman in that hotel saw a huge man ape like creature walk right passed her room.

Tom: What would you be doing if you wasn't researching/studying bigfoot?

Jack: If I weren't out researching Yowies I might be out researching Big Cats or the giant Monitor Lizard/Megalania or writing my own articles about what I have found when researching Cryptids.

Okay, by now you are probably aware that I'm enjoying the return of the super awesome show The X-files. The current season (10) is rapidly coming to an end. But luckily for me, I missed almost all of the past seasons, mostly due to my work schedule at the time. Thanks to Netflix, I can now watch all of the past seasons of X-files.

So, I have started watching from season 1 and along the way there has been a couple episodes that I thought would be appealing to our Bigfoot/Dogman audience. All the episodes have been great but these two I want to talk about should be appealing to our Bigfoot folks.  So here we go.

The X-file Season 1 episode 5

This episode is titled "The Jersey Devil"  and the plotline is as follows:

"Mulder and Scully track a legendary creature that has roamed the New Jersey countryside for over 40 years."

But once you watch it, it's not really the Jersey Devil as we know it. Oh, the show does touch on the origins and legend of the Jersey Devil but during the episode it not the Jersey Devil. So, what is it you ask? It is more along the lines of feral humans, or what we call wild men. Once you watch it you should be able to related it somewhat to Sasquatch. How they hide, how they may forge for food in populated areas, how fast they are and how silent they can be. Definitely worth a watch.

The X-files Season 1 Episode 19

The title to this episode is "Shapes" and it should appeal to the Dogman/Werewolf/Shapeshifter crowd. I very much enjoyed this episode.
Here is the plotline:

"A creature, possibly from Native American lore, is suspected of killing a man, bringing Mulder and Scully to the Indian reservation where the attack occurred in order to uncover its identity."

There is a couple scenes where you see this creature running and it looks very much like a Bigfoot/Dogman. Then you throw in the shapeshiting element and it become more entertaining. I still wonder if "Dogman" is just the new term we are using for "werewolf".


So, there's you two very good episodes of the X-files from season one. If you have not watched them, I suggest you do. You can find them currently on Netfilx. It's a good way to kill a couple hours.

This report and witness interview comes from Hopkins County, Ky. It is conducted by our friend Don Neal.

"Young mother has a possible Bigfoot sighting just outside of Madisonville, KY in Hopkins county back in 2012. This interview was done on Friday February 5th 2014 at the exact location of the sighting. The witness had no trouble remembering every small detail as it is still strongly imprinted in her memory. NOTE......this location is within a 4 mile radius of several Bigfoot sightings and encounters. This fact was unknown to the witness in this video."

I hope to be watching tonight. I also think the show has been better, so far, this season than some of the ones in the past. I say that with at least one major exception....the part of the first show where Bobo wears as dress, that was just way out there. Funny, but ...no.

I ran across the follow youtube video by tcsjrbigfoot. In it he tells about some people who saw a Bigfoot near some power lines.

Over the years I have taken in a few reports of Bigfoot being near power lines. One report was from Massachusetts of a Bigfoot looking through a bag of trash near some power lines. Another was of unknown screams near some power lines. I have read many reports of Bigfoot near power lines.

Some researchers theorize that Bigfoot uses power line right of ways much like we use highways. That Bigfoot use them to travel from one point to another. I'm not 100 percent sold on this theory but it could be possible that Bigfoot do use them sometimes or in certain areas. Of course, I assume most of the sightings near power lines are just a coincident.

While posting the Bigfoot howls from Kentucky, I also did some research into the area for sighting reports.  The following report is the work of BFRO.net . The report is old but in the same general area as the unknown howls.

- Start Report -

YEAR: 1984
SEASON: Winter
MONTH: January
STATE: Kentucky
COUNTY: Breathitt County
LOCATION DETAILS: Turn off highway 15 toward Lost Creek about 8 miles.
NEAREST TOWN: Jackson
NEAREST ROAD: not sure of the number it ran through lost creek
OBSERVED: As a small child i grew up in south eastern kentucky. Each winter the creek that ran next to our home would freeze over and we would skate on a area we had built a crude dam on. One morning after the creek had frozen back hard after partly thawing my sister and i went to play on the ice. When we arived we noticed that what apeared to be a small bare footed child had walked across the ice before it had fully frozen. The track had a definite form a heel, front pad and five toes .It had crossed a distance of about twenty feet in six steps went up a steep bank slipped down and went on up the bank. No other prints were ever seen and i have never heard of any other encounters in that area. The print was about eight inchs long and three or four inches wide.

ALSO NOTICED: in this area of kentucky there is a large amount of heavily wooded areas thousands of acres with little to no human contact with lots of reclaimed areas with fruit trees turnips and other folage and numerus abandoned mines some well over 100 years old the area of big branch is probably 1000 acres with only a few weekend atv riders ever on them which is heavily wooded and uninhabitited

OTHER WITNESSES: my sister just going to play on the ice

OTHER STORIES: My mother once told us a story of where she lived about 15 miles from there in the big branch area when she was a child and was staying with her grandmother when at night her grandmother would place a bucket with scraps from dinner on the back porch and she thought this was strange that she didnt feed them to the hogs they kept when she asked her grandmother why she did that she told her that was for her hairy man thinking it was only a story to keep the kids in the house at night they decided to stay up to see and she said they witnessed a man covered in brown hair come down from the hill and take the bucket sit down next to the well box only a few yards from the house and it ate the food placed the bucket back on the porch and disapeared back int othe woods
TIME AND CONDITIONS: early morning and very cold below freezing with a light snow
ENVIRONMENT: heavily wooded long hollow at that time only dirt road very few familys on that hollow high applacine moutains.


Follow-up investigation report:
After speaking with the witness, the following information can be added to the report.

The witness stated that they were perfectly preserved human-like footprints and added that the possibility of a human leaving them was extremely low because of sparse population and freezing weather. The prints had been made overnight when something walked through the slush ice that had formed the day before from a combination of thawing and precipitation. The toes were quite distinct and eliminated the possibility of shoe prints in the opinion of the witness. The estimated depth of the print in the ice was just over one inch.

I discussed the possibility of talking with his mother about the content of the report in the other stories section. The timing for speaking with her currently is not good because of a family issue, but I do hope to get that opportunity in a few months.

But wait....there's more! I recently talked with Charlie Raymond from Kentucky Bigfoot Research Organization and he was telling me about a report he was following up on a few days ago. Charlie's report was also in Breathitt County and it contain possible Bigfoot activity dating back several years. Plus, it also had very recent activity. The KBRO has a great database of Kentucky Bigfoot sightings.

So, it appears that Breathitt county has not only a history of Bigfoot activity, but it is still happening.

I got in this email report of a possible Bigfoot in Tennessee. The email was a bit vague and I could not locate the exact spot on the map. I attempted to find the locations mentioned. It is my guess, at this point, that the area is in between the two places circled in the above map image. I was alerted by a friend of a possible track find in London, KY. The above photo shows what appears to be a very large track. There also appears to be toes if you look closer. This along with more tracks were found only a couple days ago on 12/03/15.

Here is what the poster (Darlene) of the photo had to say:

"I just had to share this with u. Yesterday I found Bigfoot footprints in my driveway yesterday and freaked us out. Here is a picture of one of them. U can see there left and right all down my driveway and if u zoom in on this picture, U can see the toes . The prints are over 4 feet apart all the way down my driveway, plus my grass in the backyard has been wollered on and my clothes line has been torn down. Also heard grunting a few days ago. Josh is 6 foot 4 and he tried making the same steps and couldn't."

I was able to talk with Darlene via messaging and she told me her son's shoe size is a 14 wide and that it was no comparison to the foot tracks.

Darlene also posted the following picture, which I have added some red arrow to, of what appears to be multiple tracks.



I hope to have a little more information about this in the near future. Kentucky is an idea place for Bigfoot with it's abundant resources and mild winters.

Witness or Researcher?

First, let me say that this post is in no way trying to lessen the importance of witnesses or researchers. Many time a witness becomes a researcher after a sighting. Researchers often depend on witnesses to get the newest reports and information. So with that said lets look at the definitions of the words.

Witness -  A person who sees an event, typically a crime or accident, take place. In our case they see a Bigfoot.

Researcher -  A person who does a careful study of a given subject, field, or problem, undertaken to discover facts or principles. 


Witnesses and researchers go hand in hand and if done correctly should compliment each other. They both in many ways depend on each other. A researchers provides an outlet for the witness to tell their story, and to talk to someone who will take their sighting seriously. Many times the witness is just relieved to finally get the story "off their chest". Sometimes, a witness may experience a wide range of emotions after a sighting. Emotions that may include fear, terror, anxiety, rattled, shocked, depression and many others are possible. Sometimes taking to someone who will take your sighting seriously and interact with you about it, will help relieve some of these emotions.

For the researchers who get to talk to witnesses or receives their report some other way, they get helpful information such as: location, size of the creature, color of creature, behavior of creature and more. This information can help establish patterns of behavior and gives the researcher a location to explore for more clues. (Always get permission from land owners.) While exploring a sighting area, the researcher may find clues to validate the witness sighting. 

Sometimes, a researcher may never actually see a Bigfoot.That was the case for long time researcher Rene Dahinden. Dahinden had over 40 years of research and while he made many discoveries, such as tracks, and talked to numerous witnesses, he never actually saw the creature himself. He was convinced that the creature was real, and he may have never got to that point without talking to witnesses.

So, hopefully you can see the value of the witness and the researcher are both equally important and go hand in hand in most cases. Sometimes, a problem comes in when a witness claims to be a researcher. They never actually do any research themselves but relay other researchers work as their own. Sometimes even other researchers will pass off someone else research as their own. I have seen this happen and it has even happened to me. It is fairly rare but it does happen.

So, in closing I will say whether you are a witness or a researcher, you are important to the field of Bigfoot research.
