Haunted Discoveries | Haunted Jail Episode

If you missed the Haunted Jail episode when it first aired, you can watch it now. This episode was shot in Harlan County Kentucky and features some of the TCC team.

The Haunted Discoveries team looks for proof of apparitions, eerie voices, and other inexplicable phenomena inside a grim execution site. Shadow the team as they explore Harlan County’s courthouse and jail, where the fallout from a revenge killing and the coal wars still lingers.

The Stonish Giant -- Mountain Monsters Style

Time for another Mountain Monsters bigfoot. This one comes from season four. The Stonish Giant of Hamilton County, Ohio.

Once again the AIMS team plunged into Native American legends to find a name for a bigfoot to hunt. There are many stories of giants, hairy men, giant hairy men, and other various hair-covered creatures in Native legends. The Stonish Giant, as far as I can tell, is a legend of giant men and not necessarily hair covered.

There are similar stories of Stonish Giants told in several different tribes. A common theme is they were an ancient tribe that lived in the wilderness. It is said that they would roll in the mud or sand, covering their bodies. They would then let it dry, forming a second skin on them, making them resemble stone. And so the name, Stonish Giants.

Mountain Monsters - Bigfoot Editions - Pt 1

Love 'em or hate 'em, we have all probably heard of the TV show and have probably watched more than a few episodes. Among the creatures they have tried to trap with Willie's fantastic creations are varieties of bigfoot. Legend and some reality meets TV in their shows, and that is sometimes worth further investigation. So let's look for the kernels of truth among the chaff of TV.
The first bigfoot that the boys decided to tackle was the Ohio Grassman.

He is said to be a 7ft tall, 300 lb. bigfoot-type creature, bipedal, allegedly eating wheat and other planted grasses to supplement his diet. He is found throughout the state, not just in the southern portion, although there are many "hotspots" in that part of the state, including Salt Fork State Park. Not everyone refer to our bigfoot as "Grassman". We do say bigfoot, or sasquatch, or use our favorite nicknames like "The Big Man" or "The Big Guy".

Reports that John "Trapper" Tice of  Mountain Monsters fame and Co-founder and leader of A.I.M.S has passed away due to complications  kidney failure.

Tice was born in 1947 in West Virginia He was a true American outdoorsman and Vietnam war veteran.

Tice had started havign some health issues back in 2015 when he had to undergo an emergency surgery for a blood clot in his leg. It is our understanding that this and other health issues lead to kidney problems.

Tice of course was known for his role in the popular TV show Mountain Monsters. His show was somewhat of a rival to the popular series Finding Bigfoot. There was an online feud of sorts between Tice and Finding Bigfoot show leader Matt Moneymaker.

Season 7 episode 10 - is that a UFO?
The Walking Dead literally has millions of people watching it each week. This past weeks show has caused a little bit of a stir in the UFO/Research community. Many, maybe millions, of people say they spotted a UFO in one of the scenes. I can include myself in the fold of those who saw it.

As I was watching the show, and Rick is on the mountain of trash, I saw something zipped by in the background. I thought to myself, that looked like a UFO in the background. Well, it appears I was not alone in what I thought.

But just what was the object? Was it a UFO?  an airplane? a bird? or something else?

This has caused a little debate amongst people online. If you have not seen the scene, here is the very short video.

Okay, by now you are probably aware that I'm enjoying the return of the super awesome show The X-files. The current season (10) is rapidly coming to an end. But luckily for me, I missed almost all of the past seasons, mostly due to my work schedule at the time. Thanks to Netflix, I can now watch all of the past seasons of X-files.

So, I have started watching from season 1 and along the way there has been a couple episodes that I thought would be appealing to our Bigfoot/Dogman audience. All the episodes have been great but these two I want to talk about should be appealing to our Bigfoot folks.  So here we go.

The X-file Season 1 episode 5

This episode is titled "The Jersey Devil"  and the plotline is as follows:

"Mulder and Scully track a legendary creature that has roamed the New Jersey countryside for over 40 years."

But once you watch it, it's not really the Jersey Devil as we know it. Oh, the show does touch on the origins and legend of the Jersey Devil but during the episode it not the Jersey Devil. So, what is it you ask? It is more along the lines of feral humans, or what we call wild men. Once you watch it you should be able to related it somewhat to Sasquatch. How they hide, how they may forge for food in populated areas, how fast they are and how silent they can be. Definitely worth a watch.

The X-files Season 1 Episode 19

The title to this episode is "Shapes" and it should appeal to the Dogman/Werewolf/Shapeshifter crowd. I very much enjoyed this episode.
Here is the plotline:

"A creature, possibly from Native American lore, is suspected of killing a man, bringing Mulder and Scully to the Indian reservation where the attack occurred in order to uncover its identity."

There is a couple scenes where you see this creature running and it looks very much like a Bigfoot/Dogman. Then you throw in the shapeshiting element and it become more entertaining. I still wonder if "Dogman" is just the new term we are using for "werewolf".

So, there's you two very good episodes of the X-files from season one. If you have not watched them, I suggest you do. You can find them currently on Netfilx. It's a good way to kill a couple hours.

Thanks
~Tom~

Did an eagle-eyed viewer spot a possible bigfoot during a past show? I got the above still shot from Robert, he wrote to me and sent in the above still frame from the his DVR. I think, this was from the most recent episode of Finding Bigfoot, Dronie Loves Squatchie.

While we may never know if this is part of the crew, a shadow or actually a bigfoot, it's still fun to speculate.

So, with that said I have attempted to zoom in and enhance the possible figure.
In this zoomed in shot you can see it does really look like an actual figure and not just a shadow.

In this further enhancement, it appears to have a human/bigfoot type of shape. Of course, we will never know what this figure was but it make a person wonder. Was it part of the film crew, was it a bigfoot? We will never know.

A good catch by Robert, thanks for sending it in to us.

Now, wouldn't it be kind of  funny and a bit ironic if the Finding Bigfoot show was being watched by a bigfoot and they never knew it?  We may need to watch a little more closely.

Thanks
~Tom~

First, let me start by saying I was somewhat of a fan of the old X files show, even though due to my work schedule I was not able to watch it very often. I did make sure to watch the 2 feature films when they came out.

Now, 13 years after the original series ended, the show has been brought back. It's being called the next chapter of the series. It is also being called a reboot by some, I personally don't like that term, maybe it's due to all the "reboot" movies that have/are coming out, and most have been terrible. I would prefer a "continuation" of the series to the word "reboot", but that is just me.

Anytime you re-launch a previously successful TV show or movie, you run the risk of destroying it in the eyes of the fans. I'm sure we could sit and count the numerous flops over the years. But with the X files, it appeals to a special type of audience. One that in many ways is far more critical when it comes to our favorite movies and TV shows. Some have and will continue to call the show boring, but for me and millions of other fans, it's far from boring.

So, how was the new X files?

Well, in a nut shell.....it was totally AWESOME!
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson faultlessly step right back into their previous roles without ever skipping a beat. The two work with the same chemistry as they had before, it was impressive. Some may want to critique their acting ability, and that is fine, but they continue to capture their characters as well as they did in the past.

The plot of the show remains true to days gone by but with some added twist to bring it up to current issues. Issues such as false flags, government take over, and flashy conspiracy shows. I could say more but I try not to post spoilers.

The first episode is loaded with a lot of stuff to keep UFO fans happy. Almost ever aspect UFO fans and researchers consider corner stones are there. Roswell, alien abduction, hybridization, cover ups and more are all there. I particularly liked the Roswell part, it was really cool and without spoiling anything, lets just say episode 1 ended with a big bang. I was also thankful the original intro music was kept.

So, in my opinion, the show was really good and fans of the old show should not be disappointed. I think with this "continuation" of X-Files there will be a whole new audience hooked on The X Files.

Also, in my opinion, we have been missing a show of this type. Yes, we have other paranormal shows, but for the most part they are more of a documentary type thing or the dreaded docudrama. The X files, effectively  blends in the things UFO fans and researcher like, while creating interesting drama and various sub plots.

Now, if you did not watch last nights show, you need to get caught up because another awesome show will be on tonight.

If you missed last nights show, watch it now online by Clicking Here!

I'm sure, I will be tuning in tonight and you will be too after watching the first episode.

Bravo Fox, Bravo!

Oh, and yes

The TRUTH is Out There!

Thanks
~Tom~

Tonight on Finding Bigfoot!

The team is in Georgia investigating sightings in and around the Ft. Stewart Army base. After meeting with a witness who saw a bigfoot through a thermal imager the team looks for the best place to hold their final night investigation.

Georgia is probably best remember in the bigfoot world as the home of the "Bigfoot in a freezer " hoax pulled by Rick Dyer. But it is also home of numerous creditable sighting reports.

Like the report of two duck hunters finding large tracks and following them. You can read that report by Clicking Here. There is also a sighting that TCC team member Jimmy Craze had and you can read it by Clicking Here.

So, tonight's episode has some good potential.

Here is the preview

Thanks
~Tom~

Tonight's Finding Bigfoot show looks to be a pretty good one for a couple reason. One reason, would be to get a looking inside Loren Coleman's Cryptozoology Museum. For many of us, who have never been there, it should be a good little treat. Another reason that I'm interested in tonight's episode is because we have taken in a few reports from Maine and many from close to the border in New Hampshire.

Here is the synopsis for tonight's show.

The team travels for the first time Maine. They split up to interview eyewitnesses and embark on multiple solo investigations. Matt records multiple bigfoot howls, and is confident they've pinned down a Pine Tree State Sasquatch.

Here is the preview trailer.

Make sure to tune in tonight, it should be one of the better shows.

Thanks
~Tom~

Matt Moneymaker and TCC Team Member Jason Morse
Back in April, I reported on how The Crypto Crew was providing information to the Finding Bigfoot crew for their upcoming show in New Hampshire. We now have an air date for that show. If you would like to review the post from back in April and view the pictures, then please click here.

Jason Morse and one of our witnesses was able to attend the town hall meeting and was invited back the next day. At this point we do not know how much the show will feature our team or our reports, we may not be in it at all. We have no control over the editing of the show or it's contents. We may be featured or we may not. But I feel we provided a lot of good information via email and via Jason and the witness. Now we just have to wait and see if any or how much of the information made it on the final cut of the show. In any case, we were glad to have the opportunity and everyone treated us very well.

The air date for the Finding Bigfoot New Hampshire show is set for January 17th.

Here is a little more information about the Finding Bigfoot crew being in New Hampshire. The town hall meeting lasted a reportedly 4 hours. The Finding Bigfoot crew heard several compelling reports. The Finding Bigfoot crew was in New Hampshire from April 7th - 15th.

The new season of Finding Bigfoot starts January 3rd, and the New Hampshire show on the 17th. I hope you will watch it and see if you can find us in the show.

This will be the 9th season of Finding Bigfoot! The season will feature shows in Maine, New Hampshire, Oregon and Georgia, just to name a few.

Thanks
~Tom~

Expedition Unknown

Last night was the 2 hour premier episode of Expedition Unknown featuring Josh Gates. Most of you are already aware of Gates from his past show Destination Truth, which was on the SyFy Channel.

Expedition Unknown's first episode had Gates hot on the trail of famous missing pilot Amelia Earhart. Gates travels to Papua New Guinea (PNG) and pursues several leads which has him covering several areas. PNG, as it is called, is very diverse culturally and it is estimated that there is over 1,000 culture groups. With 848 languages, Gates, has some helpers in the form of interpreters.

It was interesting seeing the tribes in this area, as they came out to welcome Gates in the full tribal decor. There where some tense moments, after all this is a place where you may have be killed and eaten in days gone by.

The episode's central focus was on the discovery of a box full of bones, that very possibly could have been the bones of Amelia Earhart. Gates has to talk to a lot of people to chase down the whereabouts of the bones. He finally ends up digging in the area where the bones where discovered in the box by a then 13 year old boy.

During the episode there is also some investigating of crashed aircraft in an attempt to local the plane Earhart was piloting. It also leads to some water searching and diving, which adds to the excitement.

Josh Gates, is witty and likable in Expedition Unknown and the show is very reminisce in style as his former gig, Destination Truth.

I found this episode to be filled with interesting information and enjoyed the awesome scenery of PNG. With the advertisement of future episodes making several cameos last night, the show looks like it will be as fun and entertaining as anything currently offered.

If there is one thing that disappointed me, it would be that there doesn't appears to be any shows featuring cryptids. I hope this changes and it very well could. It would also be nice to see Gates bring in some of is old team for a few shows as well. We all remember the chemistry between Gates and Jael de Pardo from Fact or Faked, right? Jael made many appearances on Destination Truth and they played off of each other very well.

So, in closing, let me say if you enjoyed watching Josh Gates on his last show, then you should also find Expedition Unknown to your liking. Welcome Back Josh!

My final rating for this Episode
4 out of 5

Thanks
~Tom~

 CRYPTID: THE SWAMP BEAST

The bayous of Southern Louisiana are home to some of the planet's most rugged and unforgiving terrain.  And hidden deep within these swampy confines lie many of America's oldest mysteries and bone-chilling legends.  With its ancient Indian burial grounds and above ground cemeteries, the area has always teemed with eerie sightings.  In recent years however, there has been a dramatic uptick in strange occurrences, many of them attributed to a legendary werewolf-like creature known as the Rougarou.   In History's newest narrative series, residents of a small bayou town must face their darkest fears when something unknown begins to attack, leading to panic and hysteria.  When it's believed the culprit is possibly the Rougarou, or Bigfoot of the bayou, the townsfolk will use whatever means necessary, including the dark arts, to ward off the evil.  An American folktale comes to life with the story of CRYPTID: THE SWAMP BEAST.

CRYPTID: THE SWAMP BEAST
Airs Mondays 10/9C on The History Channel

I've watched this show a few times and it's pretty good, but more like a drama show than a documentary. Check it out.
Thanks

"Red glowing eyes, about 7 feet tall, making a sound like a pig squealing or a woman screaming and walking like a man but looking more like a gorilla," Paul Bartholomew said.

That's the most common description researcher and Bigfoot author Bartholomew hears from those who say they've seen the sasquatch.

"It's a global phenomena and it's here in our own backyards," Bartholomew said.
Bartholomew's backyard-- Whitehall, N.Y.-- has had recorded sightings for centuries.
"You go back to the Algonquin and the Iroquois and they talk about the stone giant and the giant men of the mountains. The Abenaki had their creature reports. So this whole area is rich in traditional reports of this creature," Bartholomew said.
