Port Chatham - The Haunted Ghost Town in Alaska
Today's researchers call Port Chatham the town that bigfoot destroyed. But is that true? There is a great deal of history that surrounds this location and it doesn't necessarily mean bigfoot was behind the making of this 'ghost town'.
Let's look at some history of the location and try to put things more in perspective.
First off, the only official name of this location is Portlock. It was named for the British Naval officer Nathaniel Portlock who allegedly came ashore here in 1787. Portlock was established in the early 19th century as a cannery town, mostly dealing with salmon. The population consisted mostly of Russian and Aleuts. There was a chromite mining town nearby named Chrome.
Around 1900 an American firm brought in a fishing fleet and built the cannery. In 1921, Portlock was granted an official post office.

Its not be very long ago that there was a report about a Bigfoot killing a coon dog. I think that it may happen more that we know or more that it is reported. I know of many hunters who "lost" a dog while hunting. Sometimes the dog would be found and other times it would not.
Now back to this report I had never read.

Police are called after an apparent Bigfoot tried to break into the house of a 78 year old woman. The woman became so frightened that she fled the house out of total fear. The Bigfoot damaged not only the house but also the smokehouse that was on the property.
Once police were on the scene they found the storm door of the house damaged alone with the wooden frame. The wooden frame was splintered.
But this was only the start of the investigation for the officer, things were about to get much worse.

Finding Bigfoot Game |
There is a game which was released on 1/30/2017 and I'm sure some of our readers might be interested in it. The game has also had a slight name change and is now just called BIGFOOT.
BIGFOOT is a survival horror game about hunting
Bigfoot. There are 2 modes available: you can play against Bigfoot
controlled by AI, or another player can play as the monster. The game does carry a "Mature Content" warning. Please beware that some of the information below could be outdated or have changed in some ways. The link to the game on STEAM is still working.
It is a game that seems pretty interesting, you attempt to find bigfoot. There is a pretty decent backstory and there seems to be many gadgets you can use during the game.
The game is developed on Unreal Engine 4, which powers many of today's most popular games. This game was made by Cyber Light Game Studio which is a small development team from the Ukraine.
Watching the game in motion, it seems to move very fluid and the visuals are good. But before we get into all of that, lets take a look at the back story for the game and gameplay.

NEW FILM ‘VALLEY OF THE SASQUATCH’ TAKES INSPIRATION FROM REAL LIFE BIGFOOT ENCOUNTERS
Seattle, WA –February 24th, 2015– The new horror film Valley of the Sasquatch recently began its film festival run with a world premiere last weekend at the Nevermore Film Festival in North Carolina. But for writer/director John Portanova, the process of bringing this story of a fractured family battling a tribe of angry Sasquatch to life was years in the making.
“Growing up I spent most of my free time studying cryptozoology and the unknown,” Portanova said. “Instead of going outside and playing for recess, I would read books from the 001 section of the library about encounters with Bigfoot or alien abductions. My after school viewing habits consisted of watching paranormal investigation shows such as Unsolved Mysteries or Sightings. Years later when I graduated from film school, I took some time off so I could write my first real screenplay. There was only one idea that really inspired me: making a scary and action-packed movie that respected the history of Sasquatch.”
Portanova continues, “Within the film there is a moment where the character of Will (played by D’Angelo Midili) tells the story of a Sasquatch attack on a mining cabin that took place on Mount St. Helens in 1924. Some of my favorite movies are siege films, especially the classics Night of the Living Dead (1968) and Assault on Precinct 13 (1976). So, inspired by the Mount St. Helens story, I set out to write a Bigfoot siege film. I created some characters who find themselves in a similar situation, where they’re trapped in a cabin and Bigfoot is trying to break its way in.”
“There are also references to other Sasquatch classics sprinkled throughout the script,” adds Portanova. “The character of Bauman (played by Bill Oberst Jr.) is named after a character who appeared in Teddy Roosevelt’s book The Wilderness Hunter in 1892. Within the book Roosevelt relayed the story of a man named Bauman who encountered Sasquatch while out trapping with a guide. This story always fascinated me because it’s one of the only references I’ve seen to Bigfoot taking a human life. The opening of the film features a fictional take on this story, set in present day with our Bauman. A larger subplot later in the film took inspiration from the story of Albert Ostman, who said that he was kidnapped by a family of Bigfoot for six days in 1924. In our film, a character finds himself in a similar situation with a much angrier group of Sasquatch.”
“With Valley of the Sasquatch I wanted to tell an engaging story for the cryptozoology community,” Portanova concludes. “I’ve seen a lot of Bigfoot films and have never been completely satisfied with them outside of some of the 70s classics such as The Legend of Boggy Creek or Sasquatch: The Legend of Bigfoot.
They usually portray the creature as a bloodthirsty monster, treat the whole thing like some big joke, or are shot found footage style. Within the script and shooting of Valley I made sure to treat Sasquatch with respect. It isn’t a slasher film that just replaces Jason Voorhees with a Bigfoot, it isn’t full of cheap CGI and stupid characters, and it wasn’t shot on a handycam. I hope that the film will appeal to horror fans looking for a dramatic creature feature full of old school practical effects as much as it appeals to Sasquatch enthusiasts looking for a film that understands and respects the history of the creature.”
Valley of the Sasquatch is the directorial debut of writer/director John Portanova. It stars David Saucedo (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones), Bill Oberst Jr. (Resolution), Jason Vail (Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies), D'Angelo Midili (The Invoking), and Miles Joris-Peyrafitte (Gut).
The film is a co-production between The October People (Found) and Votiv Films (Obvious Child). You can keep up with future festival screenings and news by following the film on its Facebook page (Facebook.com/ValleyoftheSasquatch) or on Twitter (@SasquatchHorror).
Valley of the Sasquatch Synopsis: After losing their home following a devastating tragedy, a father and son are forced to move to an old family cabin. Neither reacts well to being thrown into this new world. The son's attempts to relate to his father are complicated when two old friends arrive for a weekend of hunting. This trip into the forest will unearth not only buried feelings of guilt and betrayal, but also a tribe of Sasquatch that are determined to protect their land.

Experts have insisted that there are no bigfoot-type creatures living in the United Kingdom, but one man’s frightening ordeal in the Scottish Highlands challenges that theory.
No sources state when this happened, but it was first reported in a newspaper known only as The Daily Star back in 2004.
Tom Robertson, who was 68 at the time, and better-known as a ghost-hunter in his community, was hunting for a possible "ghost" known as the Grey Man of Ben MacDhui. Ben MacDhui in Gaelic means "mountain of the black pig," and it’s the second highest peak in the Highlands.
Robertson and a friend were camped on the 4,296 ft. summit, when he claimed a yeti-type creature, nearly 12 feet in height, attacked their tent while they were sleeping.
Robertson said, "At about 1 AM, after we climbed into our sleeping bags. We heard the footsteps of something coming to the tent, and heard mumbling noises outside."
Only a short while later, their tent collapsed onto them.
"I looked up through the air vent in the roof and saw a large arm crashing down," Robertson said.
"The figure of what seemed like a yeti was standing over the tent, then all hell broke loose and it was trying to get on at us. I remember something landed on my foot. My toes are black... kind of bruised."
Robertson also claimed to have found 24 inch footprints in gravel at the site, but there are no photos to corroborate.
"I don’t know what it is, but it wasn’t human," Robertson surmised. "I reckon it could be the Grey Man or something from outer space."
After the attack was over, the two men were drenched from the heavy rain that fell that night and poured into their collapsed tent. They claimed that at about 4 AM, they started down the mountain. But after nearly two miles of walking, Robertson became ill and weak from exhaustion. His friend, Derek Blake, was forced to leave Robertson at the spot wrapped in a sleeping bag. But Blake pressed on and was eventually able to signal for help. The two men were picked up by a mountain rescue team at around 11 AM that morning.
They were said to have been pretty shaken by the encounter. And it was surely a night they wouldn’t soon forget. "I have never been so scared in all the 60 years I have been interested in such things," Robertson said. *********DF

Who's watching your Tent? |

Professional Writer, a nature and wildlife enthusiast who has written for many magazines.
By TCC Team Member Dorraine Fisher
Maybe you’ve seen or heard something out there that changed your world view forever. Or maybe you’ve just seen all the evidence and you’ve decided it makes more sense to believe. But should you be afraid to go back out there?
Not exactly what we’d expect from the guy who’s been shown out in the thick of Sasquatch country in the dark of night with little more than a sleeping bag and a flashlight, lying on the ground waiting for the big hairy ones to give him a nudge. But we can all relate to his fear nonetheless. No one wants spiders in their sleeping bag.
But it’s possible that our fears of sasquatches may not be necessary at all. It’s very possible that our elusive “friends” in the woods only use scare tactics to do just that: scare us half to death, and then make sure we think twice before coming back to that spot. And maybe they’ve learned over thousands of years of evolution that we humans scare pretty easily.
ourselves in the home of other wildlife we should always be wary and respectful of their territory. And
if something grunts and throws big rocks at your tent in the middle of the night, I’d move to different
spot. ********

Here is what the descriptions said:
" I wish to thank all the people who helped recover my Dad from the woods at Salt Fork state park on Saturday night. He had gone off alone on his research again and got attacked by something out there. He was very shaken up but other wise he is fine, thank goodness he had his cell phone and was able to use it. As we were leaving the hospital after he got checked out he ask me if I could upload these clips on You Tube for him."
This clip was uploaded by Uploaded by TheSquatchmaster back in Aug. of 2011.
It's kind of scary if you think about it ...If a bigfoot decided to attack you theres not a lot a person could do about it.
I sure would like to know more about this video. It seems by what the man is saying that he may have some pictures or other videos from this area. If so I'd like to see them, so feel free to contact me.
