General area of reported sighting.

I got the following reported bigfoot sighting submitted to me several days ago. I have attempted contact with the person and was awaiting a reply, that is why there was a delay in me posting this up.
The reported sighting is fairly recent, taking place on the sixth of December. The sighting location is Humboldt county, California. Humboldt county is home to numerous bigfoot sightings.

Before I get into the actual report, I'd like to share a little information about Humboldt county.

Humboldt county has more coastline than an other county in the state of California. But don't let that throw you off, it is also densely forested and mountainous. The county contains over forty percent of all remaining old growth Coast Redwood forests, the vast majority of which is protected or strictly conserved within dozens of national, state, and local forests and parks.

One of Humboldt's major rivers is the Klamath River. And as you probably know Klamath River is home to many reports of bigfoot or bigfoot activity. Klamth River flows over 250 miles through Oregon and northern California.

The above picture and reports come from Katrineholm, Sweden. It could possibly be of an actual bigfoot or as many call them Trolls. I had to do some digging to find information about this report but I managed to find it.

The story goes like this: The witness was out taking a walk, and he eventually saw two deer and started to take a picture when this possible bigfoot ran out.

The reason this was a difficult report to find a lot of information on is the fact it is from 2011 and the witness wanted to remain anonymous. I did find an excellent write-up of it, along with a witness interview. I want to share it here and give full credit to Crypto Sweden for this information. I will also add additional information after, along with some photo enhancements.

In case you missed it, there is a video that is getting a lot of attention of what some think could be a bigfoot in a corn field. The back story in a nutshell is that this young girl was using her iPad to film the beautiful sky while her mother drove somewhere. You can hear the little girl talk about how pretty the sky is and then as they are driving along, a figure is seen moving into a corn field. The little girl shouts "What was that?"

This reportedly was shot in Provo, Utah, which has been home to several possible bigfoot videos over the years, is it a hot spot or is it a hoax spot? This video is interesting but sadly the video is not good enough to make a clear judgement based on the visual content of the moving picture. So, we have to take aspects of the video and attempt to gain more knowledge about the figure.

The mythic creature Leshy, also sometimes call the Wood Demon, is based on Slavic Mythology.
Leshy, sometime called wild man, is said to be a woodland spirit and a protector of animals and the forest.

Leshy is often described as a tall creature that can shape shift. He is said to have a beard made out of living grass and vines. In some description, the Leshy has a tail, horns and hoofed feet. Some say he carries a wooden club and is the lord of the forest.

The over all appearance of the Leshy is that of a man, but with a more pointy head and a few other oddities. It is said that the Leshy likes to play tricks on people in the forest and confuse travelers.  The legend says that you may hear the Leshy laughing, singing or whistling while you are in the woods. But be careful, if angered the Leshy can become very dangerous.

There are many other descriptions and behaviors for the Leshy, even one where he has blue skin. The Leshy is always male and in some tellings he has a wife and children.

From all the different descriptions and the wide range of behavior, it appears the Leshy is kind of a free flowing legend. A legend that can adapt and change when needed to fit the scenario.

In my brief research of the Leshy, it seems to also have some of the same characteristic and roots as the United Kingdom's Woodwose.

Some tie and connect the Leshy to  Bigfoot which I guess seems fitting, as Bigfoot is often called the wild man of the forest.

The Almas (Mongolian: Алмас/Almas, Bulgarian: Алмас, Chechen: Алмазы, Turkish: Albıs), Mongolian for "wild man", is a purported hominid cryptozoological species reputed to inhabit the Caucasus and Pamir Mountains of central Asia, and the Altai Mountains of southern Mongolia.

Other names by which these creatures are known, depending on the particular region, are 'Wind-Man', Abnuaaya, Bekk-Bok, Biabin-Guli, Gul-Biavan, Guli-Avan, Golub-Yavan, Kaptar, Kra-Dhan, Ksy-Giik or Ksy Gyik, Mirygdy, Mulen and Voita.

Almases are typically described as human-like bipedal animals, between five and six and a half feet tall, their bodies covered with reddish-brown hair, with anthropomorphic facial features including a pronounced browridge, flat nose, and a  receding chin. Many cryptozoologists believe there is a similarity between these descriptions and modern reconstructions of how Neanderthals might have appeared.

1420 - The first known printed reference on the Almas was made by a Bavarian named Hans Schiltberger. He traveled through the Tien Shan mountains as a captive to the Mongols. During his imprisonment he kept a journal in which he wrote:
"In the mountains themselves live a wild people, who have nothing in common with other human beings, a pelt covers the entire body of these creatures. Only the hands and face are free of hair. They run around in the hills like animals and eat foliage and grass and whatever else they can find. The Lord of the Territory made Egidi a present of a couple of forest people, a man and a woman, together with three untamed horses the sizes of asses and all sorts of other animals which are not found in German lands and which I cannot therefore put a name to."

1807-1867 - Sightings reported at Khalkha, the Galbin Gobi and Dzakh Soudjin Gobi as well as in Inner Mongolia; also at the Gourban Bogdin Gobi, Chardzyn Gobi and the Alachan desert.

In the mid 1800s  a wild woman who was named Zana is said to have lived in the isolated mountain village of T'khina fifty miles from Sukhumi in Abkhazia in the Caucasus; some have speculated she may have been an Almas. According to accounts, she was very physically powerful, able to perform feats of exceptional strength. Zana, at first was violent towards her captors but soon became domesticated and assisted with simple household chores. While in captivity, Zana was passed on through a succession of owners and mothered several hybrid children. According to the story, she had as many as 6 offspring, by different men, with a total of 4 surviving with the help of the local village women. According to reports the children were fairly normal, except for being dark and physically powerful. The 4 children were assimilated into normal society, married, and had families of their own  One of the male children, Khwit, remains namely the skull was examined by Dr. Grover Krantz in the early 1990s. He pronounced it to be entirely modern, with no Neanderthal features at all.  Zana, herself  died sometime in the 1890.

In the 2013 a documentary, Bigfoot Files, Professor Bryan Sykes of the University of Oxford showed that Zana's DNA was 100% Sub-Saharan African in origin and she could have been a slave brought to Abkhazia by the Ottoman Empire Prof. Sykes did however raise questions as to whether Zana could have been from a population of Africans who left the continent tens of thousands of years earlier as her son, Khwit's skull had some very unique and archaic characteristics.

There is much more to the tale of Zana and her offspring, I invite others to research and come to their own conclusions.

Myra Shackley and Bernard Heuvelmans have speculated that the Almases are a relict population of Neanderthals, while Loren Coleman suggests surviving specimens of Homo erectus. They have been connected to the Denisova hominin. Descriptions of Almases are similar to that of the Yeti of the Himalayas.

The Displacement of Bigfoot?

Whether its Bigfoot or other large animals,they can get displaced due the advancement of man.
As strip mining,logging and land development continues it will displace many animals and Bigfoot is no exception.




When one of the above mentioned activities occur in a location that is home to bigfoot then one or two things will happen:

1. Bigfoot, along with other large animals, will have to retreat deeper into the forest.
or
2. Bigfoot and the other large animals will have to live in closer proximity to humans.

If number 2 happens (which i think it has and will continue) there will be even a bigger increase in Bigfoot sightings.

Thanks to camera phones we are getting more and more videos and pictures of Bigfoot. Most are what we call blobsquatch but as time goes on the camera phone will continue to improve and the pictures and videos should get better and better.

As most people have noticed over the years,there has been increased reports of black bears, Bigfoot and large cats among the general public, I feel this is a direct result of the advancement and development of our lands.

It has been my experience,living where logging and strip mining happen everyday, that smaller animals such as raccoons,chipmunks, squirrels,rabbits..ects are not as effected by the strip mining and logging and normally keep living in the area, but larger animals like deer and black bear move out of the general area. These larger animal tend to move back in rather quickly once the mining or logging has stopped. Many times deer will even come back to the area on days when the working is stopped be it for a holiday or weekend.

Would this be different for a Bigfoot? I would guess that the time period for a Bigfoot to move back into an area where is was displace would be much greater due to the lack of food source,fresh water loss of cover/shelter and the fear factor would play a part. The Bigfoot which would have been scared off by the big equipment,blasting ect... would have a deeper intelligence and remember the event longer making it be more cautions. In fact it may never move back the the area.

So in closing, we can all get our cameras and cell phones ready as we should start seeing the big guy more and more.
