Over the weekend, I got in this report of a possible sighting of a Shunka Warakin. For those who may not know, the Shunka Warakin is a wolf/hyena type creature mostly reported out west.

Here is the report.

It was around 10 pm, Tye and I saw what we thought was a coyote coming out of the brush across from us along the edge of the field and raised its head high as it watched us before going back in.

Then it reappeared in the lower part of the field and we thought it was a coyote by the way it was trotting. It kept coming towards us and didn't seem to have any fear of us. We hurried down along the edge of the field to have a closer look of it. We got at least a couple of hundred yards with our spotlights on it the whole way and we could see it was a very large canine. It sometimes raised its head high to look at us which was 3 or 4 times. It had pointed ears and was grayish tan. I'm guessing it stood at least 4 feet or so high at the head, Tye thought it stood on its hind legs but I think it just raised its head.

Sometimes, when we start working a claim or case, we get to a dead end for various reasons.
This does not necessarily mean the person was untruthful or trying to pull a fast one. We have had people attempt to hoax us and I guess that is just part of the field.

Often times, we get sent photos or someone will send in a report and they are looking or asking for help with their mystery. In some cases we are able to help. Take for instants some recent photos sent to us by Nancy. Nancy, has some large birds on her property and they are causing some damage and attacking some of the critters. Of course, knowing Iowa has some history of Thunderbird sightings and that these birds on Nancy's property were large, we had hopes that maybe, just maybe it was Thunderbirds.

Team member Leon Drew, talked with Nancy on the phone and got more details about the birds and property. We were then thinking these birds could be vultures, and even Nancy thought they could be, but vultures normally do not attack living critters. But buzzard on the other hand, also called chicken hawks, do attack critters, and they are pretty large, so these large birds on Nancy's property could be buzzards. There was also a fairly recent report of a condor being seen in Iowa. Plus the picture quality was not that great due to how it was taken, which couldn't be helped, and we really can't identify the birds for sure until a better photo is taken.

Nancy's neighbor also had a mystery. He had this odd looking round things with a hole in them, laying on the ground. This photo was sent in.

I will admit, it is a weird looking thing. I didn't know what it was ....but I did find out.
I did some searching on the internet and found out this is the fruit of a Osage orange tree. The fruit is edible but it has a unpleasant taste. It is also called a horse apple. It is said that the fruit is a natural insect repellant. I found some good information and my info at 2 dope sistahs blog.

Of course this is only a couple of examples but other times we run down leads and they just don't pan out or the evidence is just not there to support the claim. Then on other cases we reach an end and just need to wait for another clue to keep going.

I have had several cases where someone would send me photos and claimed Bigfoot was standing in the background but it was nothing more than a shadow or just cases of pareidolia. We still have to check this stuff out and understand it is just part of the field. Often times, these types of reports are not posted. 

Not too long ago, we had someone trying to pull a fast one on us. It was a story about a Gorilla photo from the United Kingdom. We were able to filter out this story and expose it as a fake. The person who sent it in may have been taken in as well. I do wish other websites would attempt to filter some of their stories, as some of them will publish anything to get a few clicks. Oh well, what can you do.

I just thought I'd share a few of the cases, where it just didn't pan out. The cases are fun to work, even if they don't pan out sometimes or we get stuck and have to wait on the next clue. Thanks goes to Nancy for sharing her photos and stories with us. Thanks also goes to Leon Drew for his help.

Over the many years of doing Bigfoot and UFO research, I have met some good people, who when they run into something that might be of interest, send it to me.

That is the case with these old documents. This friend is normally doing various research of some kind very often. Well, in their searching they ran across these now declassified documents from the CIA. These documents deal with UFOs. Not UFOs from another planet, but UFOs that were made here.

What I find interesting is that this was back in the 50's. If the documents are in deed honest and not a forgery by the CIA or propaganda, then it could be safe to assume that many, if not all, of the UFOs being seen are not from another planet but are OURS.

I think this could be the general area.

I got this report in a couple days ago. This possible sighting is only a little over a month old, so it is pretty fresh. In the map picture above I have used the available information from the report to attempt to find the location. I'm not sure if this is the exact spot or not.

I'm a 63 yr. old perfectly sane and normal grandmother of two. I live in a small southern town near Memphis, TN.

On June 1, 2015 myself, my daughter and granddaughter were on our way to Memphis on a shopping trip. We were in my Ford Edge and my daughter was driving. My granddaughter was in the front passenger seat and I was in the back seat behind the driver's seat. We turned off highway 14 onto I think it's Brunswick Rd. (it's just a kind of a shortcut to the Wolfchase mall in Germantown). It goes through the small communities of Bolton and Brunswick. I was just looking out the window as we talked. When we turned off the highway to Brunswick Rd. (I think that's the name of the rd.) we pass a field.

The boundaries around the field are grown up with trees and shrubs and grass and you can't see the field from the car except at a small entry driveway the farmer uses to get in. As we passed the driveway that day I saw in the middle of this open field something tall and black. It looked unnatural to me. I just saw it for a couple of seconds but I knew it was something I couldn't identify. I whispered to myself "What the heck was that!" I now could kick myself for not telling my daughter to stop and back up so I could look again. I finally decided it was a burned tree trunk but honestly I really didn't believe that. I saw this in broad daylight (about early or middle afternoon). It was something tall and black and it was in the middle of the open field. It was stationary.  I could see the small plants of Milo or corn (hard to tell the difference when it's just inches tall) around the bottom of it. It was black from top to bottom.

It was dark by the time we headed home and we took a different route but I had a doctor's appointment the next day in Memphis so I drove by the field again to see if there was a burned tree trunk in the field. The tall black thing was gone. I knew then I had seen something unusual. Because I could not get this off my mind I ask my husband to go with me to the field to see if we could find footprints.

We walked around the field and I believe I found a large bare footprint. At least to me it looks like a footprint with toe impressions. I just felt the need to tell this to someone. I took a picture of the impression with my cell phone. I also saw other impressions I believe to be footprints but were not quite as clear. There were a lot of deer tracks in the field and there are thick woods  that surround it except on the road side. There is a good size creek near the field and down the road going the opposite direction.

I walked to the back of the field and walked down the tree line. Just saw deer tracks and a few dog or coyote tracks. No feeling about the tree line until I got to a certain point and I suddenly got a creepy feeling. I looked up and didn't see my husband because he had gone over the hill and out of sight. I walked back to the middle of the field where I could see my husband again. I wanted to stay and look longer and asked my husband to walk to the woods where I got the creepy feeling to see if he got the same feeling but he wouldn't because it was a little distance and he was ready to go. We left but I know I'm going back to that field again.

I don't know when I'll get back there and I have no idea who that land belongs to but I just feel like I have to go back and look more........Well that's my story and don't know what good it does to tell it but I just felt the need to do so. Thanks for listening.

Did NASA try to hide UFOs?

A new space video is causing a stir on YouTube, now showing well over a million views and climbing. Commenters claim NASA purposely cut their live feed to public viewing during a recent live video release, because in this particular footage, three unidentified flying objects were spotted racing out of the earth’s atmosphere. And they also claim NASA interrupts their live feed like this fairly often, for sometimes mysterious reasons.


Of course, authorities are handing out the usual explanations like weather balloons, but the fact that they cut the feed in the middle of a very interesting and mysterious event makes it even more interesting to us…and more suspect.

Is it some earth being piloting a craft out of the earth’s atmosphere, like the Russians or Chinese? Is it solid proof of alien life exploring our planet? Or is it something else entirely. Watch and tell us what you think.

Mission Point Resort

Some of you may already know that I just returned from a trip from Michigan, Mackinac Island and the Upper Peninsula. The UP was kind of on my bucket list as a place to visit, so it was good to get into that area.

Today, I want to talk about my trip to Mackinac Island and more specifically about the Mission Point Resort.  While I did not actually stay in the resort the history of haunting is intriguing to say the least. The island in general has some creepy history and I hope to share more about it in the coming days.

As for the Mission Point Resort, lets first look at some of it's history. Lets start with the name "Mission Point". In the 1820's , Reverend William Ferry built "Mission House" to house and teach Indian children. A few years later he established "Mission Church". The Southeast end of Mackinac Island became known as "Mission Point".

In 1954 more structures started being built in Mission Point. This included a theater and lodges. It was completed in 1957 and later in 1958 a movie sound stage was added. In 1979 that very sound stage was used to film the motion picture "Somewhere in Time" starring Christopher Reeve.

There was an old Indian prophecy that stated the following "Someday, on the east end of the Island, a great tepee will be erected. All nations will come there and learn about peace."  Oddly enough, the Main Lobby is one of the most distinctive architectural structures on the Island. Nine-ton majestic trusses, converging at a height of 36 feet, resemble a 16-sided tepee.

Another little bit of  interesting history, is that in 1970 the famous evangelist Rex Humbard purchased this structure. In 1977 Humbard sold the property and over the years it had some name changes. Over the years it was sold a few more times and the name was changed back to one the more accurately represented the history.

Now, what about the hauntings? Well, first you need to know that there is a cemetery on the island and it was relocated. The funny thing is, once it was all moved they had 3 or 4 more headstones than relocated graves. It was too late to find the missing bodies as structures were already being built in the former location of the graves. While this is not the exact area The Mission Point Resort is at, it still lends to the idea that disgruntled spirits could be on the island.  Then their is the story of Harvey. Harvey supposedly killed himself after being rejected by his then girlfriend and reports of him being seen on the island have followed. Plus there is several more stories and more somewhat dark history to the island.

The popular TV show "Ghost Hunters" also did a show on The Mission Point Resort. The original air date was 3/30/11, season 7 and carried the title "Frozen in Fear".  I have embedded the show for your viewing pleasure and it was one of the better shows from the ghost hunting gang. Check it out.


I enjoyed my trip to Mackinac Island and find the "interesting" history intriguing. I hope to share more about the island, it's dark history and my brief time there in some upcoming posts.
