Mermaid found inside shark?

I have a little time this morning and thought I'd continue the Real or Fake series. Today I want to look at the claim of a mermaid body being found inside a shark.

The above photo was and is passes around on social media sites like facebook and twitter.
According to the post you can see "Rare uncut video of a mermaid body" you just have to click the picture. This is where the fun starts ...Not.  Once you click the photo (normally with a play button) a message will pop up telling you that you need to share the video before viewing it. This is a tactic to insure the "Breaking News" spreads like a wild fire.
Then if that is not bad enough you are then taken to a site where you can win prizes for filling our surveys. It seems there is a lot of hoops to jump through to get to see this amazing rare footage of a mermaid that was eaten by a shark. Often times at the bottom of this survey page is a Mermaid video but it is not the promised "mermaid inside of a shark" video.  Here is the one most often shown.


The Mermaid in the video is fake, notice there are no flies or crabs eating it and it appears to have died in an unnatural pose.

But what of the claim of the Mermaid inside a shark? well, I'm glad you ask.

The photo used (top of page) is real and there are other photo as well ...here is one of them.

Yeah, I know ..gross

The photo of the remains is in fact a real photo and is not photoshopped or anything ....but the photo is from 2010. It is actual human remains found inside of a shark and not of a Mermaid.

AW: I don't consider myself a researcher even though I do document things. I have known about them for 58 yrs.

Tom: What got you interested in Bigfoot, Was there a particular event that got you started?
AW: I had my first encounter at the age of 6.

Tom: During your research/studying of Bigfoot, have you ever encountered aggressive behavior or felt in danger from a Bigfoot?
AW: I have never once felt any aggression or ever had a bad encounter. I believe that is because of my respect for them. I never push them or act disrespectfully while in the woods.

Tom: It seems Skeptics are always ready to attack Bigfoot research, How do you deal with it?
AW: I deal with skeptics as I do anyone. Everyone has a right to their opinion, even skeptics. I share what I have experienced in a respectful way.

The interview series continues with our 7th installment. In this short interview we talk to Renegade Bigfoot Society's Billy Mills. Billy has had many interesting encounters, many of which have been recorded. He also took part in my recent film, Bigfoot: The Evidence Files, and provided some very good video of reply tree knocks.

Tom: How long have you been researching/studying Bigfoot?
BM: Since 2006.

Tom: What got you interested in Bigfoot, Was there a particular event that got you started?
BM: When I was around 8 yrs old I saw the movie ''Mysterious Monsters,'' & was a believer ever since.

Tom: During your research/studying of Bigfoot, have you ever encountered aggressive behavior or felt in danger from a Bigfoot?
BM: ''YES,''  in an undisclosed area near Greeneville NY, I was not only surrounded by but also chased out of the woods by what I would say were at least 8-9 of these creatures, I haven't been back since.

Tom: It seems Skeptics are always ready to attack Bigfoot research, How do you deal with it?
BM: ''Bring it on!!!''

Tom: Would you like to see Bigfoot accepted and/or proven to the general public?
BM: yes, but I would like it done the ''RIGHT'' way, ''NO KILL!!!''

Tom: What is your favorite time of year to research/study Bigfoot, When do you have your most success?
BM: From early spring, to late fall.

Tom: Do you have a favorite Bigfoot story or report?
BM: yes, when my ex-wife & I lived on top of a mountain in Accord NY, needless to say, my absolute favorite hot spot!!!

Tom: What would you be doing if you wasn't researching/studying Bigfoot?
BM: Fishing, camping, etc.

I have some doubts about this video and feel it is most likely a hoax or a prank of some sort, but in a case like this, we may never know for sure. There are a few things I like about the video and a few I don't. At least it's not a stump or shadow.

Ok. so I was going to stay out of this debate about the photo shown on a recent episode of Finding Bigfoot. The photo above was shown and some debates are now taking place about it. Some say it is a young bigfoot, while others say it is a bear.

So, I wanted to check it out more and try to show people what it is...here is a few photos.




Here is a tighter zoom on the creature in question.





Now here is some things pointed out. You can see what appears to be a long type head that includes a snout and pointy ears. The proportions are all wrong for a bigfoot.

Bigfoot & Paranormal

Those of us who work with paranormal subjects every day take for granted that we know exactly what that means. But what exactly is paranormal? For many people, if you ask them directly, they’ll tell you it has to do with ghosts and other anomalous entities. But we often use it to generalize the subjects of ghosts, cryptozoology, and UFO’s studies. So are we misusing the term? And should sasquatches as we’ve come to understand them still be considered a paranormal subject?


The word "paranormal" means "outside or beyond normal," which seems simple enough until you realize how subjective the word normal really is. If you can’t define what normal is, how do you define what is paranormal?

So, once again, we resort to the old dictionary. And according to our old, dependable Merriam-Webster, paranormal means anything "very strange and not able to be explained by what scientists know about nature and the world." And by this definition, I could surmise something normal can be explained by science, whereas something paranormal cannot. So if science hasn’t discovered it and can’t explain a subject scientifically, it’s paranormal. Simple, right? Well…not so fast.

If this is true, then how does this affect subjects in science like black holes and dark matter that scientists are still only theorizing about but haven’t yet been able to fully explain? And here’s the answer Wikipedia provided: Paranormal phenomena are distinct from certain hypothetical entities, such as dark matter and dark energy, only insofar as paranormal phenomena are inconsistent with the world as already understood through empirical observation coupled with scientific methodology."

I take this to mean that if scientists have decided they understand it a certain way, whether correct or not, it’s NOT considered paranormal by the standard definition.

So, is bigfoot really paranormal? I’m thinking the answer is yes…and no.

Sasquatches aren’t quite proven to exist beyond a shadow of a doubt but are still subject to study by a few scientists. They have been said to have been empirically observed with scientific methodology on many occasions. But they have still not been found, dissected, and classified. So they aren’t understood on the level that is consistent to what we already understand about similar forms of wildlife.

So I will say sasquatches, at this moment in time, may still be dangling on the more paranormal side of the spectrum, though that’s not entirely fair. It’s not because they are ghosts, or mythical or magical. Ghosts don’t leave footprints with friction ridges, or blood, or hair, or other DNA behind for us to find like sasquatches have fairly often. But because the scientific community hasn’t given the subject of bigfoot its full attention. It hasn’t done the extensive research and made any final hypothetical assessments that echo across the board for the skeptics and believers both to embrace. And even when scientists do talk about it, the subject still gets lumped in with crop circles and UFO’s.

With all due respect to all the scientists who already bravely tackle this subject every day, we commend you. It’s not easy hanging out here. But all the subject needs now to move beyond paranormal is a little more serious acknowledgement. And do I hear a resounding "Ho hum!" of frustration among believers?

We’re so close to making them normal. So very close. With all the bigfoot buzz permeating the culture right now, so many witness accounts, so much physical evidence found, you’d think Bigfoot would be considered "normal" by now, even though they’re normal to us. But, (sigh) not quite.


So, as many of us think the subject can and should be taken more seriously and brought out into the daylight, all I can say is, "We need just a few more scientists in here, please."

He has appear in the documentary film Not your typical Bigfoot movie, and was featured in the book Mystery Us Universe: Origin and Destiny by Tony Pratt.

Tom: During your research/studying of Bigfoot, have you ever encountered aggressive behavior or felt in danger from a Bigfoot?

JT: Yes I have. While camping with some friends in W. Virginia, I observed what appeared to be an eight foot, hairy black mass try to enter a female campmates tent one night. I and others were able to draw its attention and drive it away. I think it noticed we saw it and got scared.
 

Tom: It seems Skeptics are always ready to attack Bigfoot research, how do you deal with it?

JT: I don’t worry about that aspect of what I do. Most of those types of people research from behind a keyboard or have "0" experience in a wildlife setting. So in actuality, it is they who are being misled due to their sedentary lifestyle.
 

Tom: Would you like to see Bigfoot accepted and/or proven to the general public?

JT: No. I have never desired that type of proof for the general public. Proof is earned in my book and not freely given those that sit on their asses only to ridicule and cajole from afar.

Tom: What is your favorite time of year to research/study Bigfoot, When do you have your most success?

JT: In the heat of the summer and in the fall.
 

　

Tom: Do you have a favorite Bigfoot story or report?

JT: I don’t know if one would classify what I am about to say as being "favorite" per se BUT, it is certainly the strangest thing that has ever happened to me while Bigfooting. I was at a get together in N. Central Tennessee in November 2002. I and about 70 others were sharing company at a small Bigfoot conference and we dotted the landscape in our various cabin and lodges. Well, one of those nights, a few of us (around 30) drove up to a field in the mountains where the WMA was growing experimental grasses.

We all hung out there for around an hour and 26 of those people left to move onto other areas around the countryside. One of the women that I was with began to experience lightheadedness and began to collapse and so I grabbed her elbow to keep her from smashing her head on to the ground.

Around 10 minutes later, I began to feel a horrendous case of bowel activity brewing; I became nauseous, started sweating profusely and became flushed. I politely excused myself and told the remaining researchers that I was going to go back to the cabin and lie down. I remember getting into my car and going back down the "chicken trail" (because the road was so small it looked like only chickens would use it) towards the cabin. It was a 10 minute trip.

I walked into the cabin and much to my amazement, the three researchers I had just left not 10 minutes earlier were already at the cabin, dressed for bed and waiting on me. I had a severe case of "Jeff scratches his head" going on. The first thing out of my mouth was, "How did you guys get here so quickly and get changed, ready for bed?" One them said, "Honey, you have been for around 4 hours and 10 minutes from what we can gather. We’ve had three or four people out looking for you on the road you left out of the field on and we couldn’t find you".

Now, the perception of 10 minutes in my head was actually 4 hours, 10 minutes. That bothered me for a long, long time and I still think of that one singular event while researching often. It bothered me so bad that I went to my family doctor, a psychologist and a Neurologist upon my return home. Nothing was ever found wrong. I wonder if it will ever happen again while researching. I wonder what exactly happened. With people looking for me on the exact same road I left on and they never saw me or my vehicle, where did I go? Did the car go with me? Those questions will continue to baffle me for a long time to come.
 

Tom: What would you be doing if you were not researching/studying Bigfoot?

JT: Had I not had an experience in 1997, I am really not certain as to what hobbies I would be involved with. I have spent most ever day since my first encounter thinking and searching for what I saw on that fall day.

Hanging Naked Man Orchid - Real or Fake?

I thought I might start a new series of post that I call "Real or Fake". I will post some unusual story or photo and let you know if the story/photo is something Real or Fake.

The first item in this little series is a photo of what is commonly called "Hanging Naked Man", see photo above - Some say it is just a photoshopped fake but after some quick research I discovered that indeed the odd flower is in fact real.

This orchid does bare a striking resemblance to a "Hanging Naked Man" ....completed with varying sizes of anatomy....does size matter? I guess not in the flower kingdom.   

Orchis italica, aka the Naked Man orchid or the Italian Orchid is certainly real and grows in various locations in the Mediterranean.

LS: I've been researching Bigfoot full time since 2008, 6 years.

LS: I first became interested by the Leonard Nemoy tv shows in the 1960's.

Tom: During your research/studying of Bigfoot, have you ever encountered aggressive behavior or felt in danger from a bigfoot?
LS: I have never felt in danger from Bigfoot. Nor have they ever bothered any of our animals, even catching a Raccoon in the yard while a chicken sat on a nearby limb 4 feet off the ground undisturbed.

Possible Bigfoot Tracks

This investigation/research/report by TCC Team Members Bobby & Corinna Long
Both are avid outdoors people and good researchers. They research in the state of Oregon. They conduct field research, tape sighting reports, and conduct witness interviews.



While out researching I found this track line. Could this trackway be a juvenile? I sure thought so. It went up the high bank straight and appeared it jumped up the steepest part. There were also deer tracks in that bank. The tracks were in loose soil, so there is not much detail.

BC Bigfoot Sighting

The following report was submitted to me. Seeing the many red flags in the video, I ask a question and the submitter gave me an answer. Here is the report and our exchange.

Describe sighting in detail: I spent the past few days debating whether or not to post this video online and only decided to do so after showing the video to my father, who encouraged me to publish it.

This past Saturday I was enjoying a nature walk alone at the Strathcona Provincial Park on Vancouver Island when my walk was interrupted by a large rock thrown in my direction. I scanned the area thinking it was kids but saw nothing, so I continued along. I only made it a few steps though before I heard a loud cracking sound, like a branch being snapped from a tree or something. I turned and spotted something moving in the foliage. This something was on all fours and hiding behind some large ferns, I raised my arms and let out a yell (Thinking it was a bear and hoping to scare it off) but that's when this something stood up. I instantly became overwhelmed with fear, this wasn't a bear. It was more like a gorilla. As it turned and began to leave I quickly pulled out my DSLR and shot this video. The way it walked completely freaked me out, it was almost human. I cut the video after I lost track of it and honestly I didn't want to hang around. I was concerned that their may have been more of these things as this one wasn't huge in size, it seemed almost young and I was concerned that maybe an adult one of these was around.

Tom: After viewing the video a few time, and having serious doubts about it. I replied to the submitter: "..at this point it appears to be a suit. ....is there a chance you could have been pranked?"
I also showed them this photo.

Here was the reply by the submitter: "I don't know about pranked, though maybe some bored kids? I didn't get the greatest look at it, much like the video. It was far away but I can tell you it chilled me to the bone once I realized that this wasn't a bear. I won't be returning to that park any time soon."

After viewing this repeatedly and running it on some software, so I could zoom it in, I'm pretty sure this is a person in a suit. Now, did the person who submitted this report and videoed the "creature" know it was a guy in a suit? I do not know but at this point it appears to be nothing more that a cheap bigfoot suit and an attempt to get youtube view.

Tom: How long have you been researching/studying bigfoot?
DB: I've been studying and researching Bigfoot for the Last 5 years.

Tom: What got you interested in Bigfoot, Was there a particular event that got you started?
DB: What got me interested in bigfoot well; that thought had always remained in the back of my head over the years since my young youth and then it happened to creep out a little more after reviewing the Roger Patterson & Bob Gimlin footage, and of course we can not forget Harry and the Hendersons, A modern day film that opened our minds even more. So Time went by and little by little I started to look into a few possibilities - then I found myself researching, Reading, online research, In the Field observations and making my own discoveries, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, and Virginia are locations I alone have researched and found all the various signs of Evidence that gave me the understanding, but it wasn't until I started researching our known Primates that these different findings came to make sense of a lot of the puzzle.

Tom: During your research/studying of Bigfoot, have you ever encountered aggressive behavior or felt in danger from a bigfoot?
DB: I never, not once came across any aggressive behavior, In the one encounter I did have with the 2 subjects they both clearly showed a great deal of curiosity of who and what we were as well as we to them. They showed caution upon us by moving back away a few yards from where we first noticed them noticing us.

Tom: It seems Skeptics are always ready to attack bigfoot research, How do you deal with it?
DB: With skeptics - well this is often a common issue I face because I am not ashamed of what I know or believe in - To any skeptic or non believer I tell them this - Sorry for what you do not know or believe but until you start seeking you will not find, and What is meant to be will happen in do time.

Tom: Would you like to see Bigfoot accepted and/or proven to the general public?
DB: Bigfoot accepted : well yes I would but most importantly known, understood, and protected . The ECBRO Discovery Project is in effect to assure this will happen, also educate many on we have among us.

Tom: What is your favorite time of year to research/study bigfoot, When do you have your most success?
DB: My favorite time of year to research is early spring , and early fall , But yes I do research all year around when time permits.

Tom: Do you have a favorite Bigfoot story or report?
DB: All my favorite stories or reports are every time I conduct research.

Tom: What would you be doing if you wasn't researching/studying bigfoot?
DB: What would I be doing if I wasn't Bigfooting ? Well who really knows - No matter what I will never give up loving the outdoors, perhaps I would be researching the rest of wild life like I do now along with Bigfoot.
