Mermaid body found inside shark
Mermaid found inside shark?

Real or Fake - Mermaid Found Inside Shark

I have a little time this morning and thought I'd continue the Real or Fake series. Today I want to look at the claim of a mermaid body being found inside a shark.

The above photo was and is passes around on social media sites like facebook and twitter.
According to the post you can see "Rare uncut video of a mermaid body" you just have to click the picture. This is where the fun starts ...Not.  Once you click the photo (normally with a play button) a message will pop up telling you that you need to share the video before viewing it. This is a tactic to insure the "Breaking News" spreads like a wild fire.
Then if that is not bad enough you are then taken to a site where you can win prizes for filling our surveys. It seems there is a lot of hoops to jump through to get to see this amazing rare footage of a mermaid that was eaten by a shark. Often times at the bottom of this survey page is a Mermaid video but it is not the promised "mermaid inside of a shark" video.  Here is the one most often shown.

The Mermaid in the video is fake, notice there are no flies or crabs eating it and it appears to have died in an unnatural pose.

But what of the claim of the Mermaid inside a shark? well, I'm glad you ask.

The photo used (top of page) is real and there are other photo as well ...here is one of them.

Yeah, I know ..gross
The photo of the remains is in fact a real photo and is not photoshopped or anything ....but the photo is from 2010. It is actual human remains found inside of a shark and not of a Mermaid.
You can view the other photos of the remains by Clicking Here

SO, if you see the very top photo of this post on facebook or some social network, DO NOT click it. It is a survey scam.

The Mermaid Inside a Shark Photo/story - is it Real or Fake? FAKE!
Photos of human remains inside of shark - Real Or Fake? REAL!

I guess you kind of got a 2 or 3 for 1 today.

Thanks

Goblin Shark attack

This post by Thomas Marcum, Thomas is the founder/leader of the cryptozoology and paranormal research organization known as The Crypto Crew. Over 20 years experience with research and investigation of unexplained activity, working with video and websites. A trained wild land firefighter and a published photographer, and poet.

A rare Goblin Shark was caught recently by a shrimping crew off the coast of Florida, it has brought the beastly looking creature to the forefront. This strange creature can reportedly live at depths of more than 4,265 below the surface. This rare catch was released by the shrimping crew shortly after it's capture.

According to Theepochtimes.com  "Carl Moore, one of the shrimpers, said that  he was trawling for royal red shrimp south of the Marquesas Keys April 19 when he netted the 15-foot goblin shark."

Some Goblin Shark Facts -

* Teeth - The teeth are very long and narrow with single cusps in both jaws. There are 26 in the upper jaw and 24 in the lower jaw.

* Body -  The body is uniformly pale white or pinkish, this is caused by blood vessels just under the translucent skin.

* Other Names - Elfin Shark, Requin Lutin and many others.

* Location - The deep-water goblin shark is thought to be widely distributed. Specimens have been seen in the Atlantic off the coast of Guyana, Surinam, French Guyana, France, Madeira, Senegal, Portugal, Gulf of Guinea, and South Africa. It has also been reported in the western pacific off Japan, Australia and New Zealand. In the Indian Ocean it is found in South Africa and Mozambique. It was recently recorded in the United States near San Clemente Island off the coast of California as well as in the northern Gulf of Mexico south of Pascagoula, Mississippi. Few specimens have ever been caught making it one of the rarest species of sharks.

Just by watching the animated picture at the top of the page, it reminds me of the movie Alien with Sigourney Weaver, where the alien creature had the extra set of teeth and mouth inside of it's mouth.

This odd shark is pretty creepy but fascinating all at the same time.
I can only image what kind of "Monster" tales came from the first sightings of this creature.

Thanks
~Tom~

Yes it is real, a 2 headed shark!

Experts say the baby beast, found in the Gulf of Mexico, was a single shark rather than conjoined twins.
Boffins at Michigan State University carried out a study on the strange creature.

"This is certainly one of those interesting and rarely detected phenomena,” said Michael Wagner, the university’s assistant professor of fisheries and wildlife.

“It’s good that we have this documented as part of the world’s natural history.”
Wagner and his team used MRIs to reveal the shark had two distinct heads, hearts and stomachs, with the remainder of the body joining together at the back to form a single tail.

Pretty Cool but weird freak of nature.
