Seen in Iowa
Strange creature seen in Iowa (Mock up photo)

Strange Mothman Like Creature Seen in Iowa
I got this interesting report in over the last couple of days. What do you think it could be ..Mothman or Owlman ....or something else.

-Start Report-

Name: Angel ******
Email Address: (On file)
State: Iowa
County: sac
Date of Sighting: Easter 2008
Time of Day: 1-3 am
Nearest Town: early
Length of Sighting: 30 minutes
How many Witnesses: 4
Any Photos/Videos: no

Describe sighting in detail:
I've seen this creature twice in the same area. While driving home from my mother's one night there appeared to be a house on fire but no flames. Because it was so late at night I didn't want to report a house fire unless I was sure. I also didn't want to leave a sleeping family in danger, so I turned off the blacktop onto the gravel road and drove about a half mile down to look at the home. It wasn't on fire. There was what initially appeared to be a person sitting on the roof.
After it turned and looked at us, it was clear it was not a human. it had gargoyle type wings, glowing eyes, and I couldn't get away from it fast enough.

The second time, it was around the same time at night. This time that thing came at us. It spread its wings and swooped off the roof and across the field, no flapping of wings and it moved quickly. It landed on the side of the road, raised its arms over its head and threw something large and head shaped at the front of the car.
It then flew right up to the drivers side rear passenger window and looked in the car. I'm not sure what it threw and I wanted to turn around and look but the other passengers were on the floor of the car crying and hysterical.
Everyone in the car saw it. It followed our car all the way into Ida grove at 70 mph (yes I know I was speeding but if this thing was chasing you...I would've gone faster but there are a lot of deer).
when I got home I checked and there was a large round dent in the front of my car where it had been hit. I've looked everywhere for similar sightings and have found none. The closest cryptid I've found is the Mothman but that still isn't right. It had large round red eyes that glowed, not like it was reflecting light but instead the source of the light, gargoyle or bat like wings, over six feet tall, moved rapidly, glided instead of flapping and liked more like the thing off jeepers creepers.

Map of Area:

Early,IA on the left and Sac city,IA on the bottom right

-End Report-

To me this sounds a lot like a Mothman sighting. If anyone in this area has seen this unknown creature or you have read a similar report from Iowa, then drop us a message and let us know about it. A thanks to Angel to sending in the report.

Thanks
~Tom~

Creepy Things in the Woods
What The ___ Is That???
By Dorraine Fisher

There are some strange things going on in the woods at night. And I’ll tell you why we believe this to be true.

All too often, we find weird photos of things we can’t explain. The price of trail cameras is going down and that means hunters and researchers alike are employing them everywhere…with sometimes very creepy results. Creepy enough to make you wonder if you shouldn’t stay inside at night and lock the door.

We debunk many more pictures than we authenticate. But sometimes certain images leave us wondering how creepy and strange the world is outside at night. The following photos may or may not be real but they certainly are interesting. All these were posted on the internet by people claiming they captured their strange images on trail cams at night. Check out the weirdness and tell us what you think.

Internet sources claim a man in Georgia had seen strange lights moving around on his property at night and he suspected someone had been trespassing. He set up trail cams around his land and captured this image of a bright glowing entity. It appears to have something protruding from its back and it looks like a figure holding a rod or "wand."  Some claim it's an angel or a fairy or a ghost. What do you think it is?

This image was captured on a trail am by a couple in Jackson County, Mississippi. It appears to be a large "craft" with bright lights hovering over the ground, and many observers screamed UFO. But the couple finally came forward and claimed it was simply light bouncing around inside the infrared camera. We hope that's all it is. The deer didn't seem too disturbed.

This pic has been circulating on the internet for years. Is it an alien, demon, hoax? A man near Berwick, Louisiana claimed a friend of his captured this after finding his trail cam demolished. The sim card was still intact and he found he had captured this very creepy image. Tell us what you think it is.

The history of this one is a little sketchy but it's believed to have been captured by a trail cam owner near Thunder Bay, Michigan. It appears to be some kind of humanoid and some even claim it's a bigfoot since there have been sightings in that area. But we're not sure. What do you think this is?
This creepy image was said to have been captured in 2012 in northern Pennsylvania. The strange humanoid figure seems to be squatted down or sitting and laughing or smiling, yet the deer seems mostly unaffected.
We're not quite sure what to make of this one whose history is elusive, but it's pretty creepy nonetheless. And the low light makes it even creepier. What do you think it is? We featured this odd photo once before, check out that post by Clicking Here

What do you think these strange lights are in this trail cam pic originally published by Phantoms and Monsters? The lights almost look like strange little faces. Or maybe not. What do you think?

This one has always been a curiosity for me. It has been challenged many times but never confirmed fake. Supposedly from a trail cam in a forest somewhere in Canada, this pic depicts what looks like a Mothman or demon-like creature chasing a deer, Could it be the Jersey Devil?  According to internet sources, the locals in this area refuse to go into the woods at night as there have been numerous sightings of this type of creature. What do you think it is?

Do you have a weird or creepy game cam photo? Then shoot it over to us and let us take a look at it.

As some of you may know, I took a lot of heat over calling and attempting to prove the Siberian Bigfoot Photos a hoax. I pointed out the fold/wrinkle in the back of the "creature" and red material at the nape of the neck. Others came up with ridiculous ideas to keep hope alive for this hoax. Saying it was long braided hair and not a fold in a suit and the "red " thing could be a wound or a blood spot from a kill. Let also not forget the beard theory to explain the long flowing hair around the face.  I was called dishonest, a non believer, a hoaxer and more over this set of photos, all because I tried to let people know it was fake.

Well, now the jig is officially up and I'm waiting for the apologies to roll in. (Not really, it don't happen often in the world of Bigfoot)

The main investigator and researcher of the Siberian photos was/is Igor Burtsev. He was convinced they were of a real Yeti but upon doing more investigation found out different.  He posted an update on the photos and confirmed they were hoaxed.

4 people in group and 1 in a suit.

So, in the end it was an April Fools joke from 2011 that fooled many experienced Bigfoot analyst and researchers.

Now can this all be over with, with this set of photos? Is it clear now it was a hoax/prank?
In case you still don't get it - the long flowing "beard" was most likely hair hanging out from under the mask from the person in the suit and the red thing was most likely a ribbon that was suppose to keep the hair tied up and out of the way.  There were 5 people in the group with 1 being in the suit. It was done on April 1st - which we call Aprils Fools Day. The photo had different timestamps and were taken at different times.

I'm glad Igor finally exposed these as fakes after pushing them so much.

Thanks

Missing in the Smokies

A couple of weeks ago I ran across a missing person case from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The events that surrounded the disappearance got me interested in the case.  The deeper I dug the more engrossed I became. I felt the need to keep digging and looking for clues and overlooked articles. The next thing I know I was constructing a video about the case. Here it is, I hope you enjoy it.

Taboo Topics About Bigfoot
Be Careful What You Choose To Ignore
By Dorraine Fisher

A cautionary tale:  Be careful what sightings reports you dismiss, and be careful what you choose NOT to believe.  You might miss something very important that will change the game forever.

I.E. There was a time not so long ago when most people believed that Bigfoot was a mythical creature;  a product of active imaginations, or the ramblings of crazy people.  But now, with thousands of sightings reports from credible witnesses, footprints, blood and hair, that has changed.

There was a time when Bigfoot footprints were all considered fakes. That is until Washington State University Professor, Dr. Grover Krantz, discovered dermal ridges in footprints and explained them to the world as a literal fingerprint of a Sasquatch's foot. This authenticated them to the world and helped create a giant leap in Bigfoot research.

There was a time when people spoke of Bigfoot’s ability to “zap” people if it felt threatened by them, and these statements were ridiculed by the community and tossed aside for years.  But now, “zapping” has been witnessed or experienced by hundreds of individuals and is widely accepted by many believers as possible infrasound abilities.

The idea of “cloaking” has been attacked mercilessly and debated endlessly for several years. And many witnesses chose not to come forward for fear of suffering the wrath of skeptics on this subject. But now, with so many witnesses finally coming forward, the community has been forced to examine the idea more closely. And they’ve possibly, at least, slowly come to the conclusion that Sasquatches could have some kind of advanced camouflaging ability that rivals anything else in the animal kingdom.

Some crazy-weird abilities have been attributed to our hairy friends, and they sometimes seems to border on the ridiculous. And Bigfoot researchers have the monumental task of picking through sightings reports that are being deliberately faked. Or worse, the sightings reporter is trying to mock and ridicule the researcher taking the report.  It’s a tough reality for investigators trying to do a good job and trying to do something serious.
But it might create other problems too. It might create a wall between researchers and possibly credible people who’ve really seen something strange and need a safe place to tell their story.  So it can be a double-edged sword.  So, all this being said, we have to be very careful about what we choose to ignore.

I’ve been criticized a lot for mentioning these strange supposed abilities in my articles.  But if it were only an isolated few people talking about these things and making these intriguing claims, I would happily keep my mouth shut.  But there are hundreds of them. With many more researchers active in the field, I hear new and stranger stories every day.  I’ve been approached by lots of people whose stories are too strange or seemingly far-fetched for mainstream Bigfoot investigators to take seriously.  And I have to wonder if there are a lot of legitimate sightings that might yield some legitimate evidence but are being ignored because there’s a strange element to the stories.

Ask yourself if you’d dismiss a Bigfoot sighting if, say, the person claimed to have watched the creature disappear right before his or her eyes.  Or if there’s maybe a UFO included in the story. Would you dismiss the report and call the person crazy…or would you simply add an investigation of the credibility of the person giving the report and make a decision from there about whether or not to move forward with it?  After all, you weren’t there. You didn’t see what they saw.

Seeing is believing for most people. They have trouble believing in something they’ve never laid eyes on. But in my work, I don’t have this need. I’ve had strange experiences in the woods, but I have never seen a Sasquatch. Though I know hundreds of people who have seen them, and that holds water with me.  Thousands of people have seen them and thousands of people are not crazy and delusional. And most people who have the privilege of seeing the creature, are rural people, hikers, backpackers, and woodsmen that know very well the difference between a bear and…something that isn’t a bear. I’ve watched people struggle with ideas they never would have believed before. Ideas they’re being forced to examine because they just saw something they can’t explain.  Just because they can’t prove they saw it doesn’t diminish what they saw. And frankly, it doesn’t make what they saw any less real.  The event happened to them. They saw it.

Bearing all this in mind, I do NOT need to see one to believe they’re real. Credible witnesses with similar stories across the globe are enough for me to conclude there must be something out there.
I will always try to keep on the side of science and reason and I dismiss more claims than I accept.  So when these hundred or so credible people tell me they’ve witnessed something stranger than usual, I will ask myself if that is even possible.  And when I really study my science (physics as well as biology and zoology) and cover all the bases and look at the evidence at hand, I can conclude that anything is possible…in a particular context or by a certain definition.

If cloaking is defined as an advanced camouflaging ability, it becomes very possible. If this is the case, then “cloaking” is just an incorrect term akin to invisibility which is harder to swallow…or explain.    If zapping is described as a type of infrasound, it suddenly becomes more plausible.  So giving everything a precise definition is key.

A lot of researchers might believe that bringing these subjects into the conversation will diminish the credibility of Bigfoot as a whole.  They believe this only adds to their difficulties in proving the creature to be real to a skeptical public.  But that won’t happen if we really do our homework, pick the subject apart, and examine it the way it should be examined.  Ignoring possible evidence because we don’t like the way it sounds or because it seems crazy at first is a huge mistake. Because how can we learn more about them if we shut down our minds to what all these witnesses are claiming.  If we ignore them, we do a terrible disservice to the hours of research and all the time and effort spent trying to learn about them. If we want to REALLY learn about them, I mean really, we can’t leave a single stone unturned. Even if that stone is odd or sounds crazy.  If enough people are saying it, we have an obligation to look at it.

I’m not telling you, you should believe every crazy story out there and waste your time investigating claims of people who aren’t credible.  But Bigfoot research is about studying an unknown creature. This is uncharted territory.  And many researchers would agree that once you think you understand them, something else comes to light and you find you don’t know as much as you thought.  There’s still a big mystery there, and there may be for a long time to come. We need to be prepared for the twists and turns this story is going to take.

Stewart Taylor Interview

This post by Thomas Marcum, Thomas is the founder/leader of the cryptozoology and paranormal research organization known as The Crypto Crew. Over 20 years experience with research and investigation of unexplained activity, working with video and websites. A trained wild land firefighter and a published photographer, and poet.

Interview With Bigfoot Researcher Stewart Taylor

We are back with our 18th edition of our interview series. It's been a little while since we had one but we are still looking to do more.

I recently became acquainted with Stewart Taylor and learned about his Bigfoot research. Stewart has authored a few guest post for us and we have featured some of his videos.

One such guest post was Giants in America, I invite you to check it out as it was informative and includes several pictures.

Here is our interview.

- Start Interview -

TM: How long have you been researching/studying Bigfoot?

ST: As a young adolescent, I was fascinated with the first news release of the Patterson-Gimlin film, but soon moved on to other adventures.  It was years later (2003) that I had my first “What in world was that!?” moment.  I then began a serious quest for answers and was eventually not to be disappointed.

TM: What got you interested in Bigfoot, Was there a particular event that got you started?

ST: My son and I were night fishing along a remote, heavily wooded creek area.  Something large approached us and tossed a cinder block sized object into the water less than 10 feet from us, scaring the daylights out of both of us!  I knew this was not humanly possible from over 100 feet away, yet I also knew no animal could or would do something like this, which spurred me on for answers.

TM: During your research/studying of Bigfoot, have you ever encountered aggressive behavior or felt in danger from a Bigfoot?(details please)

ST: I have been very fortunate not to be aggressively threatened.  I did have one growl at three of us once and we just backed out of the area and left Groucho alone!

TM: It seems Skeptics are always ready to attack Bigfoot research, How do you deal with it?

ST: I quit trying to prove any point with the skeptics.  They will believe what they choose to believe.  I enjoy sharing with interested folks.  I do realize the skeptics have good reasons not to believe, but what they accept or reject has nothing to do with what I have seen and experienced for myself!

TM: Would you like to see Bigfoot accepted and/or proven to the general public?

ST: There are all kinds of opinions regarding this subject.   To me, it seems like there are powers working for the Bigfoot subject not to be ever proven to the general public.  I used to have this proving to the world hunger, but rejection and ridicule can temper this desire big time!!

TM: What is your favorite time of year to research/study Bigfoot, When do you have your most success?

ST: Late fall, winter and early spring when the bugs and snakes are not active!

TM: Do you have a favorite Bigfoot story or report?

ST: I have had a family group approach and communicate with me one time.  It was an incredible, once in a lifetime experience that changed my whole form of thinking about them.

TM: What would you be doing if you wasn't researching/studying Bigfoot?

ST: I enjoy the outdoors and nature anyway.  The Bigfoot twist has tempered my thinking about what goes bump in the night

Thanks for doing the interview and good luck with your research.

- End Interview -

Mystery Cat
Black Panther - taken in Bell county, KY

Proof of Big Cats in Southeastern Kentucky

I can remember growing up and hearing my papaw and my dad talk about seeing large cats in and around Bell County, Ky. As I got older the stories seems to become less and less but over the last few years there has been a increase of sightings in this area. I personally know 3 or 4 people who have seen these big cats. If you ask Fish and Wildlife about Panther/Cougars in this area they tell us that there is none around here. They also told us that about black bears.

Well, I know the people who took this photo and I know where it was taken but I will not reveal them or the location. It was taken Bell County. The person who took this picture had this to say.

"...got pictures of three different black ones and one yellow one. The yellow one was for sure a mountain lion."

I'm working on getting some more photos of these big cats. I hope to have another report at some point.

Here is a the full picture from above.

If you have evidence of  panthers/cougars in Southeastern Kentucky, feel free to contact me.

Thanks

UFOs and Bigfoot?

UFOs Filmed While Bigfooting?

Many people connect Bigfoot and UFOs and there does seem to be a correlation between the two.

This video is from Stewart Taylor, While out bigfooting he filmed some odd lights in the night sky.
Here is what Stewart said about the video

"I noticed lights hovering above us over the trees.  They were Delta shaped and changing colors like a row of Christmas tree lights.  When I mentioned it to another, they seem to dodge behind the angle of the limbs, but my movement captures several of them. You can hear my excitement in my voice!"

Here is the video, I have done a little work on it to show where the objects are in the sky.

Ghost: A Natural History: 500 years of searching for proof
by
Roger Clarke

Just in time for Halloween and filled with ghost and haunting tales dating back into the 1600's, it's Roger Clarke's Ghost: A natural history: 500 years of searching for proof. Yeah, it's a long title but it's very fitting.

As some of you may know, I have a hard time reading most books because they tend to not hold my interest and end up just laying around. Well, I'm happy to say this is not the case with this book. It has held my interest with not only it's recounting of very old hauntings but also with it's large list of famous people. There are many famous names in the book that you will recognize and learning about their involvement in ghost, hauntings and research that will fascinate you...it sure did me. From John Wesley to Charles Dickens to Harry Houdini and numerous Dukes, Earls and Vicars, learn how they helped shape the paranormal field to what it is today.

This book is more than just a bunch of ghost stories, it shows how some of these famous tales were debunked and how some led to lawsuits, destroyed lives, exposed secrets and caused deaths.  It's also fascinating to read and understand how ghost stories evolved from knocks and bangs to seances with full body apparitions.

Ghost: A natural history: 500 years of searching for proof not only manages to be entertaining but it is also educational. I found a great wealth of knowledge in it.

At times the book takes a look at how various classes in society were thought of when it came to seeing ghost and some of the extremes taken to try and expose fakes. It explores the mob mentality of the "ghost mobs" that would gather at haunted houses. Sometimes hundreds of people would gather at haunted houses, some walking for miles, in hopes to get a glimpse of a ghost.

This book is filled with over 350 pages of history, creepy tales, knowledge, murder, pictures and so much more.

I highly recommend it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Willow Creek
Rated: Not Rated, Running time: 80 minutes
Director: Bobcat Goldthwait

First let me start off with this, if you do not have an interest in Bigfoot or know a little about the history or behavior of Bigfoot, then do not even attempt to watch this movie.

This movie is about a novice Bigfoot researcher and his totally unbelieving girlfriend going to camp in the famous Bluff Creek area where Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin shot the famous Patty footage in 1967.

At first I found the film somewhat entertaining with the funny one liners and seeing all the Bigfoot related spots in the Bluff Creek area. I really liked the look of the Bigfoot Burger, I would like to try one of them. For those who don't know, the Bigfoot burger is a giant hamburger on bread that looks like a foot and let me tell ya it looked good.

There are also some interviews with people who tell about the area and sightings. During this part of the film it seems as if the subject of Bigfoot is being made fun of. It seems the opportunity was lost to really drive home the fact about Bigfoot sightings in the area. The interviewees come off as weird and slightly crazy. Oddly, the Cliff Barackman interview was left out of the movie but is offered in the bonus segment of the DVD. Barackman's interview was entertaining and informative, why it was left out of the final version of the film is beyond me.

In about the middle of the film there is a real lull. It takes place while the young couple is inside the tent and are awaken by odd sounds. During this part of the film the audio is so low you can't hear what the couple are saying and the odd sounds are hard to hear. Later as the sounds get closer you can hear wood knocks, howls and some rocks being thrown. Sadly this as close to a Bigfoot you get in the film.

Now for the ending, as the Bigfoots stalk the two young campers out of the area, we are treated with more howls and rock throwing. Once night falls the now lost couple are sitting in the dark and scared. Then we get a glimpse of a bizarre naked female figure, possibly a local missing woman ..... I'll stop right there with the details but let me finish by just saying I found the ending weird. Director Bobcat Goldthwait has a history of weird and thought provoking films to his credit, so for some this might fall into that category.

Overall the film had some moments but in the end I was disappointed in it.

You can purchase the film on Blu-ray by Clicking Here
Or watch it on Amazon Instant Streaming by Clicking Here

 Rating: 2 out of 5

Siberian Bigfoot

This post by Thomas Marcum, Thomas is the founder/leader of the cryptozoology and paranormal research organization known as The Crypto Crew. Over 20 years experience with research and investigation of unexplained activity, working with video and websites. A trained wild land firefighter and a published photographer, and poet.

Siberian Bigfoot Photos - Debunked?
So, there seems to be a big deal being made about these Siberian Bigfoot photos from a few years back. The original story is from Channel 10 out of Russia. (Original story Click Here)

There were 9 total photos and the story behind them was really vague but it goes like this.

"Tourist in Seregese at the top of mountain Green accidentally saw the Yeti. Creature, covered in hair, took refuge among the trees."

MK Davis has done a good job on editing and enhancing the 9 photos but there seems to be some glaring omissions about the the photos. This is not a dig at MK, I think he does some good work and I consider him a friend.

For example - there is the red material on the back of the neck of the "creature"? It is seen in several of the original photos.

In fact the red is seen in 7 or the 9 photos. (You can get all 9 original photos from the link above.) What is this red colored thing? Most think it is some kind of under garment sticking up out of the suit. Also another glaring omission is the lack of any muscle definition on the back of the "creature".
There was some talk about the ice and snow sticking to the feet and legs of the "creature" and that is true it will but it will also stick to your pants legs or a Bigfoot suit.

Notice in this close up there appears to be a fold/wrinkle in the suit running down the back. It is also visible in the above photo.

Again the red is visible at the nape of the neck.
Also it seems in the last 2 pictures of the set the Bigfoot stopped and looked at the person taking the photos. Kind of a stop and pose.

Here is a little animated photo set for ya

So in review, there is something red at the back of the neck, there is no muscle definition, the back story is really vague and on top of that it looks like a suit. Plus this comes from Russia where they commonly push hoaxed videos and reports as being real. Remember the Russian claims to have captured a female bigfoot story? - It had videos and news reports ...it had the works ...but in the end it was a poorly done hoax with a bad suit. Remember how it showed the Bigfoot in a cage?

Just like here in America, Russia has hoaxers as well. These things need honest efforts in debunking them. I was called dishonest and an unbeliever for not buying into this series of 9 photos of Bigfoot. Which is far from the truth, I know Bigfoot is real, I have seen them and found evidence of them but these 9 photos from Russia appear to be nothing more than a hoax.

People seen so eager to prove and/or believe in Bigfoot that, in some cases, they hoax and fake stuff or they put stock into every video or photo released. This type of behavior only hurts research efforts.

I'm not in this to make enemies or get into some big heated debate, I know Bigfoot is real and you could never convince me otherwise. I offer my thoughts and opinions that go along with what I have experienced and found.

Thanks and have a great evening.
~Tom~

- UPDATE -

Here is an update, I have taken a known fake bigfoot photo and compared the wrinkle in the back to the wrinkle in the back of the Siberian photos.

Looks almost the same to me.

UPDATE 2 -  Ok, by now if you are like me ...your pretty sick of this Siberian Bigfoot thing. Well, now the wrinkle in the suit is now being called a ponytail. Really a ponytail? Yes. Seems like this is going to great lengths to sell this as a real Bigfoot.

Ok, so as we know there are 9 high quality photos associated with the Siberian Bigfoot. But there is also a video of it. It can be found here - HERE - I always liked it pretty good and Igor Burtsev confirmed this is the same video as the pictures but there is only one problem. The photos are good quality and the video is apparently shot with a cell phone. So where and when was the high quality photos taken? There is a clue in the video, there is a man sitting facing the camera (cell phone?) and he has a very nice look camera around his neck and is taking photos of the girl filming. Could this have been the same camera the high quality photos were taken with? I would guess it is.

I guess in the end you can believe what ya want. Bigfoot is real but for me this set of photos are nothing more than a person in a suit.

Thanks
~Tom~
