Ghost Nuns?

I was just surfing around the internet, looking at stuff that I find interesting ....you know stuff like Bigfoot, Ghost, UFOS....ect.  I happened to run across this old picture and here is what was stated about it.

While most of us probably think this is nothing more than a double exposure, I still find it appealing. I guess it has a little to do with the fact I like old photography and then you add in the ghost element.  Plus I can't recall ever seeing this picture before.

In any case, I thought I would just play around with the photo and run it through some filters/effects. I guess I may as well share them....so here they are.



Just a slight adjustment in contrast to bring out the figures a little more.

 I inverted the picture. The figures stand out. 


With this filter I don't think the figures look like Nuns at all. It looks more like rain coats. The figure on the far right looks more like a KKK member.




Now, what to you think about the photo? Is it a double exposure? Paper cut outs? Shadows? reflections?
Your guess is as good as mine. We do know that back in the late 1800's  and early 1900's that Spirit photography was a big deal and that a lot of pictures from that time period have been exposed as fakes. I know you guys remember the old Ectoplasm photos from back then. What was said to be "spirit energy" turned out to be nothing more the cheese cloth, material or tissue . Here is a photo to jar your memory.
  
Even knowing many of these old pictures where fakes, I still enjoy looking at them. It gives me a glimpse of the past and helps me realize that people were basically the same back then as they are now. The mysteries of our world keeps searching for answers.

Boggart Hole Clough

Another report from the United Kingdom. Here in America it is commonly reported that Bigfoot will throw rocks at people. Everything from small pebbles to large basketball sized stones. So, what was throwing the rocks at Boggart Hole Clough?

Boggart's Hole Clough 2003 Stones Thrown
I was living in a area in Manchester called Blackley. Me and my family would often go for walks embracing the beautiful woodlands and surroundings.

Back in 2003 we decided to go for an evening walk in the nearby area of Boggart Hole Clough,
an area with an amazing size to it, wildlife,a pond and even streams, but that was only a part of it.

We arrived at the location at around 9PM, myself, my mum and an ex partner of hers.
As we started to walk along the path, we could hear birds and the common sounds you would expect.
But as we made another step, we had stopped dead in our tracks. The sudden feeling of being watched but due to the darkness in Boggart Hole Clough we couldn't see much, apart from the trees that were pretty much in front of us.

Next thing we knew a small stone landed centimeters in front of us. As my mum's ex began to proceed to walk towards the pathway, another stone was thrown, and then a third.
During this time we felt consistently being watched by somebody or something. It was by the third we knew it was time to go, we left the area.

While, there was not visual sighting of what was throwing the stones, it reminds me of the countless reports here in America which the person reports feeling uneasy or of being watched. Then having rocks threw at them or in some cases hearing grunts and howls.

I think it is safe to assume that Bigfoot behavior is basically the same the world over. You also have to think, that people have been reporting seeing Bigfoot for hundreds of years now all over most parts of the world. They have described the creature to look basically the same no matter where the sighting took place. They describe the same behavioral patterns. You would think that even the toughest skeptic would have to at least consider the possibility.

With our recent posting of the sighting from England, we had hoped that more of our friends from there would send in some encounters. So, we are glad to report that we have had a few more sent to us and will be posting them over the next few days. For today we will share this one from Charmaine.

Here's my account of what I experienced in Angus regarding a possible sighting. I have attached a screenshot (above) of the location which will come up on google maps as Slade farm cottage, Carmyllie.
This was my grandparents property and we spent a lot of our childhood there, my brother currently lives there.
The first incident took place during the day when I was sent out to get the newspapers that got delivered to the neighbors at the bottom of the road. I was with the dog and we were coming down the path that leads to the track running past the bottom of the property and out to the farm road. I have marked where I was walking with the yellow dots. Just before I got onto the track the dog stopped suddenly and started to growl, whine and bare her teeth, I remember seeing the hair rising on her back but I carried on past her for a few paces ending up on the track (the green dot is where I stopped). I looked up to see a large black figure further along the track standing with its back to me (red dot number 1). It was reaching up to a branch on a tree at the side of the track and was tall, thick build with no neck and wide shoulders. I remember standing in shock for a second or two before screaming and turning to run back to the house, as I screamed it slowly started to turn round but I didn't hang about to see its face.
Needless to say my reports of seeing a monster were not taken seriously and dismissed as it probably being a neighbor. I can't give an exact year but I was around 8/9 years old (This is an estimation as I remember drawing a picture of it in primary 5 at school) so that puts it around 1980/81 and I don't have an exact time of year but the leaves were out on the trees so it would have been sometime between April/May and September.
There were 2 further incidents around that time but they are more tenuous, one was at night when we were coming up the road in the car and just as we were turning right onto the track there was a figure further up the road looking towards the headlights (red dot 2). I briefly made out a humanoid shape and there was orange eyeshine reflecting from the lights, it was just standing in the middle of the road. At the time I told myself it was probably a person. The final incident was when we were out picking wild raspberries and we heard something way back in the woods, a long , deep wail. The adults in the group commented wondering what it was but then carried on with what they were doing (approx. location and direction of noise are marked in blue).
At that time the area to the north/north east and the south were all commercial pine woods, including the fields directly adjacent to the property. Almost all of the woods have been cleared now and there are more houses in the area. There is also a disused sandstone quarry to the north, with a water hole that was stocked with brown trout, there are hundreds of rabbits and sometimes deer around. At one time there was a tunnel that led from the quarry to Redford for transportation of stone, but I am having difficulty finding exactly where it is from records.
I mention this as I am trying to work out the feasibility of some kind of hominid being able to survive around there. The first incident terrified me, I had nightmares for quite some time afterwards. I could have possibly dismissed it if not for the dog's reaction and I can remember the whole encounter very clearly. For years I wondered what it was and have recently found out about other possible sightings further north east. I have asked my mother, who grew up there if she ever experienced anything unusual there but she hasn't, although she did say that when she was young she didn't like going up round the quarry area as she felt like she was being watched.
Unfortunately my grandparents and the neighbors who lived there at the time have passed away now. Obviously I'm not making a definite claim as to what it was that I saw but in researching the Squatch phenomenon over the past year or so there are similarities that I can't ignore. This experience has stayed with me and I find the whole thing a fascinating area of research. There are issues with the location, in it being much further south and less remote that other sightings in the north east and it is frustrating that I can't ask the people who lived there about unusual activity. I was also very young at the time and so this doesn't make it the most robust report as well as it being unverifiable. Oh, to go back in time with a camera, tape measure and internet! In my opinion this could have very well been a Bigfoot. If you look at the very top photo you can see the area was very heavily forested at the time of the event. According to Charmaine there was water and several sources of food, so it is very conceivable that a large creature could substance itself in the area.

Even though Charmaine was young the event has stayed in her mind. It's funny sometimes how certain things just seem to stick. I can remember where I was at the day the NASA Challenger blew up, the generation before me can remember where they were when JFK was shot. Some events just stay in our minds and its the same when we encounter the unusual or the unknown. You just don't forget it.

Possible Bigfoot Track

I was up getting some wood on Brushy Butte when my daughter pointed this out. It was the only one left in the gravel pile we were parked near. The size of the boot in the photo is 11 1/2 wides.

Here is another photo of the possible track. The can is a 12oz. pop can flattened for size

Of course, we can not say for certain or confirm for 100 percent that this is a Bigfoot track, but it is rather large and in a somewhat remote area.

Expedition Unknown

Last night was the 2 hour premier episode of Expedition Unknown featuring Josh Gates. Most of you are already aware of Gates from his past show Destination Truth, which was on the SyFy Channel.

Expedition Unknown's first episode had Gates hot on the trail of famous missing pilot Amelia Earhart. Gates travels to Papua New Guinea (PNG) and pursues several leads which has him covering several areas. PNG, as it is called, is very diverse culturally and it is estimated that there is over 1,000 culture groups. With 848 languages, Gates, has some helpers in the form of interpreters.

It was interesting seeing the tribes in this area, as they came out to welcome Gates in the full tribal decor. There where some tense moments, after all this is a place where you may have be killed and eaten in days gone by.

The episode's central focus was on the discovery of a box full of bones, that very possibly could have been the bones of Amelia Earhart. Gates has to talk to a lot of people to chase down the whereabouts of the bones. He finally ends up digging in the area where the bones where discovered in the box by a then 13 year old boy.

During the episode there is also some investigating of crashed aircraft in an attempt to local the plane Earhart was piloting. It also leads to some water searching and diving, which adds to the excitement.

Josh Gates, is witty and likable in Expedition Unknown and the show is very reminisce in style as his former gig, Destination Truth.

I found this episode to be filled with interesting information and enjoyed the awesome scenery of PNG. With the advertisement of future episodes making several cameos last night, the show looks like it will be as fun and entertaining as anything currently offered.

If there is one thing that disappointed me, it would be that there doesn't appears to be any shows featuring cryptids. I hope this changes and it very well could. It would also be nice to see Gates bring in some of is old team for a few shows as well. We all remember the chemistry between Gates and Jael de Pardo from Fact or Faked, right? Jael made many appearances on Destination Truth and they played off of each other very well.    

So, in closing, let me say if you enjoyed watching Josh Gates on his last show, then you should also find Expedition Unknown to your liking. Welcome Back Josh!

Bigfoot in the UK

I received this possible Bigfoot sightings report from England over the last couple of days. While this is an older sighting it is rare that we get reports from this area of the world. We are very glad to get them and we hope this report will bring others from our friends on the other side of the pond.

The smaller picture is the Sykesville monster and he look so similar we used this to start, the artist name is Alex Evans and she was happy for me to share as she did it, so I could explain what I saw.  He looked very much like the drawing, but its not perfect.

Describe sighting in detail: 
Buile Hill Park I was around 14/15 when I had my sighting, it was 1981/82 in late may early June.
It was warm and breezy and just a beautiful day. It was nearly school break up and with nothing important going on we sneaked off around lunch to the parkland and didn't go back for afternoon lessons.
The area where we were had an old mansion called Summer hill. It was run down and overgrown, massive trees and rhododendron bushes, tall grass, there was an huge Victorian green house left to ruin and the landscaped gardens had returned to nature.
There are rabbits, squirrels, small muntjak deer, there is also a swampy water course in the SW corner.
We were hidden in the foliage which opened up like a huge teepee. We were there for about and hour ish, making noise, giggling and rolling around, maybe around 2:00 pm. He just lean forward out of the greenery. I froze at the size of him, I could only see from about mid chest area, but we were only about 8ft apart.
I fixated on his eyes and mouth as I could see his teeth, (not because of a facial expression just that his mouth was slightly open) his mouth was same as ours but his jaw was huge, he had dark tanned weathered skin and was covered in dark dark brown hair that looked auburn where the sun caught it. He had huge shoulders and a massive chest, he looked like a man/ape but at that time I thought he was a monster. I pushed my friend to the ground (I'm still ashamed of that to this day) and ran like the wind.
I turned to make sure my friend was up and running and I saw him just lean back into the greenery. I have tried to go back 3 times and could never do it, the first time I had a virtual panic attack and didn't try to return for years.
This changed things for me and I have studied the possibility of wild humans for 32 years.

Bigfoot bathing?

I was contacted by John Rodriguez, which by now most of you know him for his story and photo of what is being called a Bathing Bigfoot. The story ran on Huffington Post and there has been a lot of criticism of John Rodriguez and the photo. Former FBI agent and lead investigator of the Syfy Channel's "Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files" series, Ben Hansen offered some analysis of the photo and concluded it was a Photoshopped/digitally enhanced picture.

When Mr. Rodriguez emailed me, he also included some unreleased photos that he says he took that day. But before I get into those, I want to follow up on Ben Hansen's analysis. Over the last few years I have been able to speak via messaging with Ben Hansen and he is a really nice guy, so this is not a shot at him. I'm sure he has better sources and equipment than me. With that said I ran the Bathing Bigfoot photo on 3 different forms of software, software that helps detect if a photo has been altered in the form of Photoshop, here is the results of image 1 and image 2. None of the software identified the photos as having been altered with Photoshop.



    
In short, there were no glaring signs that the photo have been altered by Photoshop or any program.

There were also many asking for more photos and when Mr. Rodriguez emailed me, it seemed a little upset of the Photoshop claims. The photos where accompanied with this statement from him.

"I sent some photos I took to a researcher. They accused of photoshop which is totally untrue. Here are some bad one so thought had no value but maybe good for further evaluation."

Here are the other photos along with some enhancements and zooms I did.

This is the first photo that Mr. Rodriguez attached to the email. It is basically the same as the one used in the Huffington Post article. The lighting is slightly different and there may be a slight angle difference. So there may not be much of interest in this photo but in the second image there is more to notice.

In this photo the subject is a little more to the right and it appears Mr. Rodriguez was slightly closer or had zoomed his camera. There are some other interesting features that I will point out in enhanced photos below.






This is a zoom in of image 2. What I find interesting is the possibility that the mouth of the subject appears to be slightly opened. There also appears to be some duckweed on the head of the subject. If this is a living creature, could it have been ducking it's head under water? Was it bathing or could it have been possibly looking for food?

Does it show that the mouth was slightly opened or is it just a trick of light and shadows? One thing that I should point out is the white strip of hair on the subjects head. It does not appear to be Photoshopped at all. Digital painting normally is noticeable in zooms.

Very tight zoom on the subjects face. Notice the eye, nose and mouth.

Also some have talked about the eye and the hair line.
So, I have made a couple of comparison photos using a gorilla with a odd looking hairline.



Just a quick comparison of a gorilla and the subject in the photo from Mr. Rodriguez. Also check out the nose. It is possible that the subject in the water looks a little different due to being in the water.

Now for those who do not know the back story, let me summarize it quickly.

Back story overview
2015 began with a photo from John Rodriguez, a 66-year-old retired electrician, who claims that he was fishing Dec. 26 on the Hillsborough River near northeast Tampa, Florida, and came upon an incredible sight.

"I fish for gar in the river and I bring my camera to take pictures of the birds and what not. I heard a squishing sound, looked over and saw this thing walking through the water and crouch down in the duck weed. It did not look like a guy in a suit -- it was definitely an animal. I took this picture and got out of there as fast as I could."
"I've heard of Skunk Ape prints around Green Swamp [in Florida], but never anything like this," Rodriguez told HuffPost in an email. "My whole life, never seen anything like it."Rodriguez said he snapped the picture in the early afternoon at an area where the Hillsborough River becomes a cypress swamp

"I did not Photoshop this at all. Believe me or not," Rodriguez said. "When I plug in my memory card, it asks to import and opens in Photoshop. I just changed the name and saved. It seems like people get publicly crucified for coming forward with this kind of stuff."  


Now, I will offer my opinion about the subject in Mr. Rodriguez photos.
First let me say, I do not think it to be a Bigfoot, if anything it is gorilla.
I can find no evidence that the photos are Photoshopped in any way, so that means that the subject was actually there. With that said, I do have many questions about the subject. What's with the white stripe? How deep is that swamp? Is it a living creature or a prop of some kind?  Could it just have been a pet or zoo gorilla?  So what is it? is it real? is it a hoax? is it something else? I really just don't know but I do not think it is a Bigfoot and is most likely a rubber movie prop type of thing.

In the end, we really don't know for sure about this subject but I would like to thank Mr. Rodriguez for contacting me and sharing the other photos. In the Bigfoot world, sharing possible photos of Bigfoot or possible evidence can cause a lot of grief.
