The Geneva Giant: Mysterious Creature Reported in Kentucky

Geneva, Kentucky — 2011

A mysterious, towering creature reportedly spotted in rural Kentucky became the subject of multiple eyewitness accounts in 2011. Dubbed the "Geneva Giant," the unidentified figure was described as standing seven to eight feet tall and covered in long, black hair.

One of the most startling encounters was reported by Jason Skaggs, who claimed to have seen the creature while riding his motorcycle along Trigg Turner Road in Geneva, Kentucky, on July 18, 2011.

Feral Humans in Appalachia?

People online keep talking about “feral humans” living deep in the Appalachian Mountains. I've seen the stories, videos, and posts just like everyone else. According to some versions, these are primitive, almost animal-like people living hidden in the mountains, sometimes in caves or abandoned mines, stalking hikers and surviving completely outside normal society.

What is eDNA? The Simple Explanation Everyone Needs

You’ve probably seen the term eDNA popping up in news stories about rediscovered animals… but most people don’t actually know what it means.

Here’s the simple version:
⭐ eDNA = Environmental DNA
Every living thing - animals, insects, even microbes - constantly sheds tiny bits of DNA into the environment.

Howling Underdog Films “Something is Out There”

In this episode of Let’s Find Out, we sit down with Howling Underdog Films, an independent documentary team digging deep into the histories, hauntings, and mysteries that shape our world. Their latest project, “Something is Out There,” takes viewers straight into the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, where old stories refuse to die.

This film explores four chilling legends that have echoed through the hills for generations:
The Cherokee monster Spearfinger, the cursed hunting grounds known as the Body Dump,  encounters with spectral black dogs, and the eerie warnings about whistling at night.

These Appalachian tales are dark, strange, and unforgettable — and Howling Underdog Films brings them to life with atmosphere, history, and a whole lot of mystery.

Vance Orchard: The Reporter Who Became a Historian of the Unknown

Vance Orchard spent more than three decades writing for the Walla Walla Union‑Bulletin, covering the people, places, and rhythms of eastern Washington. He was a storyteller by trade, a community man by instinct, and a chronicler of the land long before he ever wrote a word about Bigfoot.

His shift into Sasquatch reporting wasn’t a gimmick or a stunt. It was a natural extension of his beat. Orchard talked to ranchers, loggers, hunters, and families who lived deep in the foothills, the kind of people who didn’t seek attention and didn’t embellish their stories. When they told him about strange tracks, heavy footsteps, or encounters in the timber, he listened with the same seriousness he gave to any other local event.

That simple act, taking witnesses seriously, changed the trajectory of Bigfoot research in the Blue Mountains.

Debunking the Myth: No, Jerry Crew and Ray Wallace Did NOT Invent Bigfoot

For decades, skeptics have repeated a simple but misleading claim: that the entire Bigfoot phenomenon began in 1958 when a California bulldozer operator named Jerry Crew cast a set of large footprints found around a logging site, prints later linked to Ray Wallace, a man known for carving wooden feet and staging hoaxes.

It’s a tidy explanation.
It’s also completely false.

Dogman vs. Bigfoot: The Behavioral Divide

Two giants of cryptid lore, but they couldn’t be more different. Bigfoot is the watcher. Dogman is the predator.
Both leave tracks, both vanish before cameras catch them, but their behavior tells two very different stories.

The Weird Side of Bigfoot: Encounters That Don’t Fit the Usual Story (Part 2)
The Stranger Patterns: Signs, Sounds, and Phenomena in the Deep Woods

If the first half of the Weird Bigfoot Series deals with internal experiences, missing time, mindspeak, and the feeling of being watched, the second half focuses on the external signs. The sounds. The structures. The lights. The things people can point to and say, “I saw this. I heard this. This happened.”

These six phenomena appear again and again in witness reports, often in the same areas and sometimes on the same nights.

The Weird Side of Bigfoot: Encounters That Don’t Fit the Usual Story

Most people think Bigfoot encounters follow a predictable pattern: a glimpse of a large figure, a set of tracks, a strange sound in the distance. But the deeper you go into witness reports, especially from the Appalachian region, the stranger the patterns become. These aren’t the loud, dramatic stories. These are the quiet ones. The unsettling ones. The ones people hesitate to talk about because they don’t fit the “normal” script.

The Silent Forest Phenomenon

People who’ve had strange encounters in the woods, Bigfoot, lights, shadows, whatever, always mention the same moment:

“Everything went quiet.”

What Rangers Really Report in the Deep Woods
The deeper you go, the stranger the stories get, and rangers see more than anyone.

Forest rangers spend thousands of hours in places most people will never step foot in. They know the trails, the wildlife, the weather patterns, and the rhythms of the land. And every so often, they encounter things that don’t fit neatly into any category.

Here’s what they actually talk about, quietly, off the record, and only with people who understand the woods.

Sasquatch in Salish Traditions

For the Salish peoples of the Pacific Northwest, Sasquatch is far more than a mysterious creature. It is a spiritual presence woven into oral traditions that stretch back centuries. The very word Sasquatch comes from the Salish language term se’sxac, meaning “wild men.”

The Salish peoples of the Pacific Northwest have some of the oldest and most detailed traditions about Bigfoot.

Mysteries Unlimited TV: Broadcasting from the Heart of the Holler

If you’ve ever wondered what it would look like if Bigfoot ran a community TV station, you’re not far off from what we’re building with MUTV. Born in the Appalachian foothills and powered by a mix of folklore, fiber-optic cables, and sheer stubbornness, MUTV is our homegrown streaming channel amplifying local voices, legends, and labor.

We’re not just chasing cryptids — we’re chasing connection. MUTV is where you’ll find live broadcasts from the backwoods, indie creators telling stories that don’t fit the mainstream mold, and the occasional blurry trail cam footage that might just be something. It’s DIY media with a mission: to honor the weird, the working-class, and the wonderfully real.

So whether you’re here for the folklore, the fish tales, or the frame drops (we’re working on that), MUTV is your signal from the shadows. Tune in, support local, and keep your eyes on the treeline.

MUTV is now broadcasting live on YouTube. Streaming original content from the heart of the mountains, MUTV showcases indie films, cryptid reviews, Appalachian storytelling, and curated public domain gems. Every frame is crafted or licensed with care, honoring the labor behind the lens.
