Artist rendering of a Dingonek - Sorry I do not know who created this.
The dingonek is a scaly, scorpion-tailed, saber-toothed cryptid allegedly seen in the African Congolese jungles (primarily those of the Democratic Republic), and yet another in a long line of West African cryptids—such as the Chipekwe, the Jago-nini and the Emela-ntouka. At the Brakfontein ridge, Western Cape in South Africa is a cave painting of an unknown creature that fits the description of the dingonek, right down to its walrus-like tusks.

Said to dwell in the rivers and lakes of western Africa, the Dingonek has been described as being grey or red, 3 to 6 metres (9-18 feet) in length, with a squarish head, sometimes a long horn, saber-like canines—which has resulted in its nickname the "Jungle Walrus"—and a tail complete with a bony, dart-like appendage, which is reputed to be able to secrete a deadly poison. This creature is also said to be covered head-to-toe in a scaly, mottled epidermis, which has been likened to the prehistoric-looking Asian anteater known as the pangolin. The description by John Alfred Jordan, an explorer who said that he actually shot at this unidentified monster in the River Maggori in Kenya in 1907, claimed this scale-covered creature was as big as 18 feet long and had reptilian claws, a spotted back, long tail, and a big head out of which grew large, curved, walrus-like tusks. A shot with a .303 only served to anger it.

It is said to be exceedingly territorial and has been known to kill any hippos, crocodiles and even unwary fishermen, who have had the misfortune of wandering too close to their aquatic nests.

Well, after reading about the "Jungle Walrus", I think I'll just stay with Bigfoot, UFOs and ghost.

Thanks

If I described to you a creature that had a 10 foot long neck, a 10 foot long tail and a 30 foot long large round body, what would you guess it to be? I'm sure most of you would say that it was a dinosaur. Well this is what has been described by numerous witnesses for over 100 years.

Deep in central Africa in the Congo there is said to live a dinosaur, the pygmies of the Likouala swamp region call the creature mokele-mbembe, which translated means "One that stops the flow of rivers."

The creature has also been described as having grey to brown skin with no hair and as spending most of it time under the water. The creature is said to sometime travel in search of food or to other near by swamps and rivers, resulting in some of the reported sightings. The locals say that Mokele-Mbembe will over turn boats and kill people by biting them or hitting them with it tail but it is thought that the creature is herbivore, plant eater.

So I'm sure you are asking "where is the evidence?" or "is there any evidence?"  well there is some evidence that we should consider.

First lets consider that sightings have been reported for over 100 years now, with the earliest record dating back to 1776. There has been and continues to be expeditions in the region searching for the creature.
The next evidence we should consider is the odd Tracks. The tracks are described as a rounded shape about 3 foot in diameter having 3 toes with claws and having a stride distance of between 7-8 feet.
Here is a photo of a possible track

A living dinosaur
Dinosaur track?
There is also some possible video evidence that needs to be considered as well.  In 1992 members of a Japanese film crew allegedly filmed video of Mokele-mbembe. As they were filming aerial footage from a small plane over the area of Lake Tele, intending to obtain some shots for a documentary, they noticed something in the water and shot about 15 seconds of video. Here is a still frame from that video.

A living dinosaur

But that is not all, there have been many more expeditions into the Congo looking for Mokele-Mbeme, one in 1992 by William Gibbons produced 2 photos of unidentified objects in the water. Gibbons claimed one was the head of the creature.

Many experts have looked into the tales of Mokele-Mbeme and those who did not just dismiss it as folklore, stated it could be a sauropod dinosaur. When locals were shown a picture of a sauropod dinosaur they said that picture is of Mokele-mbembe.

Even, Ivan T. Sanderson, The man who coined of the word cryptozoology, Saw what he said and wrote to be the Mokele-Mbeme. Sanderson seen the creature dive back into the water and he stated that it's head was as large as a hippo.

So could it be possible that a dinosaur or group of dinosaurs are still living?  But before you make up your mind completely consider that it is estimated that about 80 percent of the Congo remains unexplored.
So maybe there will be a real Jurassic Park someday, and talking about movies, the movie Baby: Secret of the lost legend, starring William Katt, was based on sighting reports of the Mokele-Mbeme.

Thanks
~Tom~

“Sister Species” Of Neanderthals Found
Suggesting Parallels To Dr. Ketchum’s DNA Study?
By Dorraine Fisher - TCC Team Member
Shards of “foreign DNA” have recently been discovered in three different groups of modern Africans offering clues that a strange “sister species” of neanderthals walked the earth alongside modern humans and neanderthals 20,000 to 50,000 years ago.
According to Newser.com and The Washington Post, this new strain of DNA discovered at the University of Washington in Seattle bears no resemblance to either human or neanderthal DNA but has somehow found its way into the modern human family tree. And there’s only one way it could’ve done that: interbreeding.
Neanderthal DNA has been found in modern day Europeans, suggesting interbreeding between the two species. But this new DNA is completely different and suggests a third determining factor in the evolutionary puzzle of modern humans. It points to a new idea that three different hominid species walked the earth at that time and they all interbred periodically,  creating the humans we are today.
But this poses another question in the Bigfoot world.
When news of Dr. Ketchum’s DNA study became the big topic of discussion earlier this year, rumors swirled around the community that the findings of the study might resemble humans more than other apes, suggesting that Bigfoot might be another strain of human. And it was also suggested that Bigfoot might be another hominid related more closely to Neanderthals, which had been believed to have interbred with homo sapiens.   This would obviously place modern human DNA into results of the Bigfoot DNA examination. But without fossil records, it’s impossible to know what these newly discovered hominids looked like.
And of course, no DNA results are in yet. We’re all still waiting for Dr. Ketchum to make the announcement.
But we have to ask the question:
If Bigfoot is indeed more human than ape as is rumored, and since different types of human like hominids were known to have interbred with each other successfully thousands of years ago, would this new strain of DNA point to an ancestor of Bigfoot?  And since there are no fossils records to determine the appearance of this hominid, could it actually BE Bigfoot?
The Washington Post suggested in amazement that we, the modern humans, were the only strain to survive this great evolution. But, given what we all know, are we so sure of that? *********
