Stick formation
"I thought I'd found something in one of my research areas. On first sight, this structure, made from large broken branches 10 to 12 feet up off the ground, does not look naturally made, and there have been numerous sightings reports in this area, some footprints and sound recordings taken of unusual activity. But I found nothing else in the area around this structure, and upon examining it again, I decided the branches could have dropped into this configuration. It's interesting, but I had to conclude it could have been made naturally."

Stick Structures – Evidence Or Controversy?
Here’s How To Tell
By Dorraine Fisher

Almost daily, someone will send me a picture of what they believe might be a stick structure built by a Bigfoot. These are those strange configurations made from trees and tree branches, often found deep in the woods, (but not always) that defy explanation and could not have been created by humans or natural means. Some can be as large and elaborate, and others are smaller (as simple as a stick stuck in the ground) and appear to serve no practical purpose.

Researchers believe they may be some kind of landmarks sasquatches use to signal, warn, or otherwise inform other sasquatches of something. Some are also believed to be created by juvenile sasquatches. But when researchers bring us these pictures of these structures, the first question we have to ask a lot of questions and ask for more detailed research in the area they’re found.

"X" made with broken branches
Stick structures create some serious controversy in the world of cryptid research. If you spend a lot of time in the woods, you know nature and the weather can do some weird things to everything out there. And this often makes these structures just too hard to recognize as anything authentic. And in the case of sasquatch research, you have to have your research in order, or face a lot of criticism.

Found in Russia
So if you do a lot of hiking in the wooded areas, near a good water source, teeming with deer and lush vegetation, and you come across one of these structures, how do you tell if it’s something to get excited about?

The answer is, you can’t. Not without a shadow of a doubt. But there are some signs to look for in these structures and that can point you to other, more tangible evidence in the area.

1. Are the sticks used for the structure broken and not cut, as with human tools? This might seem like a stupid question, but needs to be checked in the case of thorough research.

2. If the sticks forming the structure are broken and not cut, how big are they? Are they big enough that even a strong human could not break them, as is the case with small trees which are seen broken off in some research areas?

3. Are the trees in the area of the structure broken off at a height above the height of any human, meaning over seven feet high where no human could easily reach?

4. Have the sticks been used in unusual configurations? Or have they been intertwined or even woven into each other and appear they were intended to be semi-permanent?

5. Was the structure found in a remote area where less human foot traffic is found? This is not always the case in stick structures, but is one factor in helping determine its authenticity. They are more often found in areas far away from normal human occupation.

6. And has there been a credible bigfoot sighting in the area? We find that these structures can appear in areas where there have been recent sightings or other strange activity reported.

And then there are so many variables. Juvenile sasquatches might possibly build "practice structures" with small sticks, easier for a human to duplicate. Some could have been created naturally by falling from the trees in certain configurations. And number of factors can weigh in to the final product.

So, if you’ve seen these structures in the woods, other research in the area is necessary in order to affirm they might be the real thing. Extensive, meticulous work needs to be done to find possible prints, hair, sound recordings, video, local sightings reports, or photos of something else in the area that would make these structures more credible as real evidence of sasquatch habituation.

Otherwise, the structures themselves are not enough. It can take years of research, observation, and time in the woods studying nature in order to be able to conclude credibly that a structure may have been made by a sasquatch. So it’s very important to do thorough research, be objective, and ask an awful lot of questions. ******DF

bigfoot?
Are bigfoots around Lacey-Keosauqua State Park?

This post by Thomas Marcum, Thomas is the founder/leader of the cryptozoology and paranormal research organization known as The Crypto Crew. Over 20 years experience with research and investigation of unexplained activity, working with video and websites. A trained wild land firefighter and a published photographer, and poet.

I got the following report in a couple days ago, it appears there is some bigfoot activity in and around Lacey-Keosauqua State Park in Iowa.

-Start Report-
Name: Corey H*****
Email Address: Withheld
State: Iowa
County: Van Buren
Date of Sighting: October 19-20,2013
Time of Day: 8:30-9:30 pm
Nearest Town: Keosauqua
Length of Sighting: an hour
How many Witnesses: my girlfriend and I
Any Photos/Videos: Ive got several photos of tree breaks and 2 large stick formations which maybe used to hunting deer as they come down to the creek to drink. (Some photos below)
Describe sighting in detail:
My girlfriend and I believe there is a family of bigfoot hanging around the lake in Lacey-Keosauqua State Park. We have been experiencing huge rocks being thrown in the lake at night and whoop calls and whistles since late March 2012 and still are.

We were walking on the trail on October 19,2013 about 8:30 pm when all of a sudden of a huge rock smacked the water no more than 200 feet from us. I let out my whoop call that I do and got a low whoop right back up at the dam where the truck was parked and then others joined in then became very quiet. She heard a whistle in between them which I heard that spring. She immediately thought campers were messing with us because it sounds so human and imitating my whoop but there is no people out there walking in the dark on the trails, just us. Then Sunday night at same time I threw a big rock in and not long after a huge rock was thrown in followed by a beaver smacking its tail which we later saw gnawing on a log along the waters edge. I let out my whoop but no answer so I told her lets go over to the beach on the other side and scan the shoreline with our flashlights. As we got down the steps I had spotted big eyes and high off the ground and I told her to look and by the time she looked it had left and I know it wasn't a deer or black bear. It looked like it crouched down out of sight. It maybe the one that threw the rock in earlier. After that I started offering food gifts and they were disappearing regularly until the lake froze up and snow started falling so it wouldn't leave footprints. I couldn't find any evidence of native animals doing this. I will get back at it.

In late March 2012 we smelt a strong odor like a rotting animal carcass that just faded away along the trails before we got to the lake and 2 huge rocks hit the water, the last one sounded much larger. She thought fish were jumping but I said those were big rocks. Right there I knew we had bigfoot since I've seen them years ago. Then in October 2012 5 huge rocks were thrown in on the same side we were on and the last sounded farther down and after the last we heard  a whoop on the other side of us and I whooped and it responded right back. She says she doesn't remember hearing the first one but heard it mock me and was higher pitched with a quality of a chimpanzee and sounded female. We heard nothing before or after.

In June of 2013 I was out there by myself whooping and I got a low whoop right back and sounded very human and then others joined in back in the woods then a big pack of coyotes started yipping nearby followed by barred owls hooting everywhere.

According to the whoops we may be dealing with some sort of highly intelligent humans or hybrids. There is no doubt in my mind that bigfoot is doing this and not humans.

A local man says he saw a bigfoot in the campground go behind the restroom building as he got up to smoke around 2 am in July 2012. He said it was 8-9 feet tall, long brown hair and its hands were bigger than his head. He is totally scared of them and is convinced they are out to hurt him and said he saw one in the park back in the 1980s. Also campers reported their RVs shaken. However, we haven't felt any kind of danger from them. Instead they move away very quietly. We both believe they are trying to communicate with us and among themselves. They sound more human than ape to us. It would totally amaze even the most skeptic who is questioning the existence of bigfoot. I am hoping to get this all on a voice recorder this year. We are willing to talk to any serious bigfoot researcher out there.
-End Report-

Here are some photos send to us by Corey

Rock stacks and Teepees
Various Structures
[Good News! Found out the article was written by Jeffrey Teagle!]

Rock pile & Tee-pee study

It has been long understood fact that tee-pee markers, rock stacks and arch formations are common place during and near bigfoot sightings. What do they mean or better yet; what do they represent? Anyone's guess is a good as the next. But let us look closer. The Native Americans always considered the bigfoot beings a "a people". Similar in appearance but nevertheless a tribe of "swarthy, hairy and overly-large" group of people (or tribe if you will)".

Native Americans knew that these being were primarily nocturnal. In other word's, they chose to show up during the night when others were asleep or getting ready for bed. My theory is that this technique primarily allowed them considerable concealment. Are they using the covertness of dark as a tool "as to not to scare the 'be-Jesus out of others? Or is it simply to come and probe around looking for food and keepsakes?

Creating such things as tee-pees, rock piles or stacks have long since been related to Indian tribes marking the land for passer-byers' as to the locations of water, food sources or safe havens. Would it not be common since that the bigfoot also knew of these techniques and applied them so that other bigfoot would see the tell-tale signs while passing from one area to the next? We have to then ask ourselves where the bigfoot learned these messages or "greeting cards" as I call them. Did American Indians and bigfoot once co-exist peacefully? Did they have learning relationship together at one time?
So...what should we do when we run across these signs? Well, first of all we should document them by photographing, drawing or videoing them. We should then carefully inspect each branch or rock for signs of unusual hair or possible habitation. The last thing one should do is to disassemble any unknown structure realizing that something with an "opposable thumb" had to make them. In other words, something had to have the dexterity to situate these items just so. Which eludes to the fact that these beings are creative. Creative in such a method that only their kind would recognize these signs in the forest (unless you are a researcher and know to look for these items). The typical hiker or woodsman would merely shrug these forms of communication off without giving them a second thought.

Secondly, we should try to interpret a meaning for these structures. Are they in an area with abundant food? Are they temporary concealed shelter? Are they ritualistic in nature? Look for the thing that should not be there and less so the obvious. Lastly, we should try to better understand why these formations, especially the "tee-pee's" are that particular shape. Why aren't they square? Or round? OR rectangular? Why pyramidal (or conical) in shape? The overall shape in general of tee-pee's is amazing and raises a lot of questions within itself. Why do rock stacks typically start off with large stones from the bottom only to taper off into smaller stones at the top?

Have you ever ran across anything like this? do you have pictures? We would love to see them.
I personally found a odd rock stack in the middle of the forest while working as a logger. I don't know if it was done by bigfoot or not but it seemed odd to me. Here is a photo of it.

This was very large as well....I would guess on the bottom side it was 6 foot tall or more. We would have never found it but we had to make a logging road to pull trees out and just so happened to go by this rock stack. I questioned what it was at the time but no one knew. I guess it could be an ole Indian rock pile.

Thanks
