Hunter Hears Possible Bigfoot Vocalizations

Our friend Guy, had a very plausible Bigfoot localization event while turkey hunting. He reported it to the BFRO but has also granted us permission to post up he event. You have probably heard Guy or I refer to this event in some of our previous post. Well, now you will get the chance to read about it in greater detail. I have also included the above google map image of the area.

Here is the report

So, I was checking out some Youtube videos and just generally surfing the internet when I ran across this story. The version I found was done by Dixie Crypitd.

Supposedly, this photo is from a game camera. The hunter on the left is walking toward his ladder stand. There also appears to be a possible Bigfoot on the right, looking right at him. I assume this was taken very early in the morning hours while it was still dark. Most hunters make it to their tree stand while it is still dark.

Here is the short video followed by some more information.

The Crypto files | Creepy Figure Shows Up In Selfie | Ep16

Recently, I was sent a photo with what appears to be a photobombing ghost in the background. The person who was taking the selfie was not aware of the figure. The person who took the selfie sent it to his buddy, who is too busy to hunt, as a way to tease him. The busy friend noticed the odd figure and ask what it was. The person who took the selfie zoomed in and saw the figure and then check out the area and could not find anything.

According to the witness, about 500 yards away is a supposedly haunted house. The house was remodeled but the owners never moved in because of unusual activity.

Here is a short video of the events and some enhancements to the figure.

Over the years, I have taken in many reports of deer hunters encountering Bigfoot. This could probably stem from the fact that both hunters, and bigfoot, are stalking the same prey. This encounter occurred in Lenawee County, Michigan. Lenawee County is in the southeaster part of Michigan.

Here is a report I recently got in from Craig.

- Start Report-

Name: Craig *****

Email Address:
On file

State: MI

County:
Lenawee

Date of Sighting:
2006

Time of Day:  before dark

Nearest Town: Tecumseh (Tom - Tecumseh is a small city in Lenawee County. It is about 60 miles from Detroit and a 40 miles from Toledo, Ohio.)

Length of Sighting: Unsure

How many Witnesses: 1

Any Photos/Videos:
No

Describe sighting in detail:
I was watching 3 deer at about 200 Yds away, while bow hunting. When I began to hear a knocking sound coming from the woods very close to the deer.  The knocking came closer and it was an unmistakable wood on wood sound that was loud. At about 80 Yds away a branch was broken that immediately had me very nervous as it was very loud.
The knocking kept coming closer with no other sounds and it was calm and quiet that day.  It came all the way to within 35 yds or so and the knocking was all I heard. If it came any closer it would have to show itself but never did.

After a few knocks at close range my mind was racing as I had never heard of this behavior by anything and absolutely did not believe in Bigfoot, until that day. I heard a slight rustling of the leaves as apparently it headed back into the woods deeper but not without letting out a crazy scream/growl/yell that was terrifying.
That was all I could take and jumped from my tree stand (about 10 ft) and hustled to my truck without running, because I was thinking it might attack as I've heard that you don't run from a predator.  It took 2 hands to start my truck since my hands were shaking so bad. This happened 3 miles from my house and I do hear things occasionally but nothing like that day. I've never gone to that spot again, and never will.

- End Report -

Thanks goes to Craig for sharing his encounter with all of us. Even though this might have been a scary experience, it was also an eye opening one for Craig. Most of us have been told, that Bigfoot is not real, but for those of us who have seen and/or heard it, we have no doubts about bigfoot being real. Just be careful when jumping out of a tree stand.

Thanks
~Tom~

Bergman's Bear - The Bergman's bear (Ursus arctos piscator) is an alleged and probably extinct subspecies of the brown bear that lived in the Kamchatka Peninsula. The bear was identified and named by Swedish zoologist Sten Bergman in 1920.

Bergman determined that the bear was a separate subspecies after examining a hide (which had fur very different from other local bears) and series of footprints, measuring 14.5 x 10 inches, which he judged to be much larger than other bears on Kamchatka.

Some think that the Cold War may have helped the population to recover because the Soviet Military blocked access to the area in that time.

Interest in the bear was revitalized in the 1960s. Hunter Rodion Sivolobov reported claims by Kamchatka natives of an unusually large bear they called either the Irkuiem (roughly meaning "trousers pulled down" due to the appearance of the bear's hind legs), or the "God bear" due to its large size.

Based on Sivobolov's description, biologist N.K. Vereshchagin suggested that the God bear might be a relic Arctodus simus, a massive extinct bear. This idea was coolly received by the scientific community; Arctodus has never been found outside the Americas, and more importantly, it belonged to the Tremarctinae which differ considerably in appearance from the "typical" bears (Ursinae). In particular, Arctodus had relatively long and slender legs which does not agree with the "trousers pulled down" moniker.

Do you think that any of these giant bears are around today?

Thanks

What takes the hog?

A few days ago we got in a report from Terry Snell (found here) about his encounters with possible Bigfoots.  His first brush with Bigfoot took place in West Virginia back in his teenage years. That story is pretty good and the pieces fit together well with other area sightings.

Terry currently lives in Texas where his more recent brush with Bigfoot took place. In the above gif picture, you see a dead hog, all at once the hog rolls away into the night. What took the Hog?

The Crypto Crew's Leon Drew conducted an interview with Terry to get all the details.

Here is that interview.

General view of Valley county.
I got this report in a few days ago. It is a good one and I think in the right situation I would also run after a Bigfoot, all the while trying to get a better video of it.

Here is the report.

Name: Michael

Email Address: On file

State: Idaho

County: Valley

Date of Sighting: 1976,1986,2011,2014

Time of Day: 10:30 pm

Nearest Town: Lowman

Length of Sighting: 2 min.

How many Witnesses: 6 Hunters

Any Photos/Videos: no

Describe sighting in detail:
I have had more than  one encounter as I call it. The best was in 1986. I had just got out of the Marine corp.  I was 22 yrs old in top condition. My uncle asked me if I would like to go elk hunting.I never turn down a chance to go hunting. There was six people in our hunting party. We split into two-man teams and all agreed to meet back at camp at 5:00 pm. My cousin and I decided to hunt up one of the ridges on the far side of the meadow. My uncle and another hunter went on the ridge one over from us.

We didn't have any luck seeing any game. Two groups met up at the meadow and talked about hunting back to camp by going through another draw. As we were walking through the brush, we came across a log structure. At first I thought it was just a slash pile loggers left behind after cutting trees down. My mind was focused on finding elk. Not log piles. My uncle said, "Look at these logs! They have not been cut by man." I said,"So?" He replied,"No saw marks... no ax marks, and no hatchet marks." Then my uncle said, "Where's the tree stumps for these logs?" We looked around. The closest stump was fifty yards away.

This log structure stood about eight feet high and thirty feet around. The logs that were in the pile were green, Not dried out and were 6 to 8 inches around and ten to twenty feet long. There was a two foot opening at one end. No one wanted to be brave and crawl into and look around.

My uncle said, "Do you smell that?" It was a musky smell. I thought to myself, What died ?!? Shortly after the smell I thought I heard a woodpecker, and my uncle said, "That's NOT a woodpecker."I said, "What?" My uncle replied, "That's rocks being slapped together!" An eerie feeling came over me and the rest of the hunters. It was like we were being watched. We decided that we would back out of the area and go to camp an easier way.

When we got back to camp, we told the other hunters what we had stumbled across in the middle of no where. After we got a bite to eat we decided to play cards inside our sheepherder tent. It must have been around 10:00 pm when my uncle said, "Hey! Quiet!" We all calmed down to list. We could not hear anything. It was very quiet... nothing moving and no breeze. So we went back to playing cards. I thought it was my uncle trying to play a trick or cheat at the card game. Five minutes went by and my uncle again said "Quiet!" This time he said "look!" as he pointed to the lantern that was hanging from the center of the tent. It started to sway, and before we knew what was happening, the tent collapsed on everyone!

I remember that my uncle was the closest to the tent door. He opened it and started yelling for us to come out as fast as we could. It was dark, and we all were grabbing for flashlights and weapons. I grabbed a flashlight and a hunting knife. One by one we exited the tent. My uncle told us to all spread out. He said that we need to find out what made the tent come down.I stepped around to the back of the tent and listed. I heard something walking through the brush. It sounded like someone walking through dry leaves. Stepping around the tree that was in front of me, I hoped that I would see what ever it was that was making the noise . I flashed my light around and saw nothing.  My cousin walked up behind me and placed his hand on my shoulder and asked in a soft voice, "Whats that in front of you?" I asked, "Where?" He quickly grabbed my arm with the hand that had been on my shoulder an said, "Don't move your flashlight!" He reached around me with his flashlight and waved it at the area that I had my flashlight pointed at. He said, "Here!" When he did that, the creature took two steps sideways.

My cousin said, "What is that?" I replied, "I don't know!" My cousin exclaimed, "That's not fur, it's hair!" What we were looking at appeared to stand seven to eight feet tall. It walked on two legs, and the weight looked to be 600 to 800 pounds. It was a rust color. What came to my mind was a very large man in a ghillie suit. This thing was thirty feet in front of me. This all took place in about fifteen seconds. As we stood talking about it, it dropped to all fours and started to run away from us like a gorilla. My cousin said, "Let's get a better look at it!" So we started to chase it down an old abandoned logging road that led down hill toward the meadow.

The moon was full that night with no wind at all. I felt like I was in a cross-country race, and the race was in my favor because it was going down hill. I used to be able to run the mile 4:30. The closer I got to this thing, the thought in my mind was, What do I do now?!? I got close enough to it as if it were a quarterback on a football field that I could have tackled or jumped on its back. I couldn't see the face through all the hair I did see the hand and fingers. It had a flat back. I could see the triceps and biceps as they flexed. I tried to hear if it was tiring from running, but it was not panting.

My cousin could not keep up, and he started yelling, "STOP! STOP!" I yelled back,"WHY?" He said, "STOP" again, so I broke off the chase. I kept my flashlight pointed in the direction Bigfoot was heading. My cousin finally caught up with me and said, "Listen!" I said, "What?" He said, "Do you hear anything?" I told him no, he said, "You should! We should hear something running. That means it's just stand outside of the range of the flashlights!" I asked him, "Why did you yell "STOP!"? "Think about it!" he answered. Wolves trick domestic dogs into the woods away from their home, where the rest of the pack will pounce!" An eerie feeling came over me. I suggested that maybe we should head back to camp.

Once back at camp everyone wanted to know what we had gone chasing after. No one else in camp saw it, but they did say they heard something big running. They also told us that the reason the tent came down was that two of the corner stakes on the outside of the tent were pulled up. These stakes were metal and were pounded into the ground with a ax! Since that time I have been back to the area half a dozen times. I have seen fourteen-inch tracks. I've heard more rock-knocking and one night I heard some good vocals from two different location at the same time. I feel that I know how to get them all worked up if they are in the area. One of these times my son and I knew that the closest person to us was at least twenty miles away. It doesn't leave a lot to your imagination on what's making the noise. They are big and hairy. I've been chased out of the area twice now. I still want to go back, but I will not go alone!!

- End Report -

Thanks goes to Michael for sending in the report.

Now, would you have chased this Bigfoot? Sometimes I'd like to think that I would have.

Thanks
~Tom~

Not actual bones, just used for reference

This is a guest post by Tim Cornett. Tim is a amateur Kentucky historian and author.

Several years ago Dr. James S. Golden, Jr. of Pineville told an interesting story of the discovery of skeletons on the mountain just outside of Pineville.
According to Golden, a local hunter stopped to rest just before dawn. Sitting down on what he thought was a pile of brush and branches at the bottom of a tree, the hunter discovered he was seated on a pile of what looked to be human bones.

These bones were taken to Golden, who was able to assemble four almost complete skeletons - complete except for the skulls. Golden said that the skeletons appeared to be from a race of people who were “short and stocky. The femurs were twice the diameter of a modern man’s, and shorter.” He estimated that the people would have weighed between two and three hundred pounds, based on their skeletal structure.

Without the skulls there was no way of determining more about these people. Theorizing that the bones had come from some ancient burial site on Pine Mountain, Golden, the hunter, and others scoured the mountainside for more bones, and hopefully, the skulls.
Dr. Golden’s best theory was that the bones had washed out of their resting place during heavy rains over many years and lodged against the tree where they were found. He guessed that the skulls, being round, would have rolled on down the mountain side and possibly entered the Cumberland River just south of Pineville, where US 119 meets US 25E.

The skulls were never located and Golden, unable to glean any more information from the skeletons, sent them on to The Smithsonian Institution, where presumably they rest today. (Efforts by the author to locate these skeletons have been unsuccessful; Golden forwarded them to the museum, but calls to the Smithsonian have proved fruitless in finding their exact whereabouts.)
