This strange story comes from New Zealand. It seems a woman found these small unknown creatures in her kitchen. The woman's son, Tim, shot a short video of the creatures in his mother's hand. One of the small creatures must still be alive as it is moving.

Tim wrote in a Facebook post “My mother found these on the kitchen floor this morning. One is still alive. Anyone know what they are? Nikki is horrified and will have nightmares for weeks!”
Many are baffled as to what these could be. The most popular conclusion seems to be that it is the legs of a moth. Certain moths drop their legs to distract predators. Could this be what we are looking at?

Another guess was from Eric Edwards, an insect expert,he thought they could be rat-tailed maggots. Rat-tailed maggots are the larvae of certain species of hoverflie.

The University of Auckland, in New Zealand, have said they believe the video to be a hoax..

I personally think the moth legs is probably the correct answer. Check out the video and give us your thoughts on what you think they are.
