This was a little side project we have been working on. This is a paranormal investigation of the old Benham Hospital.

The Benham Hospital is located near the center of the community, and was built in 1922. At the hospital employee applicants were given physicals and miners and their families received medical care. The building belongs to the city now. Over it's years in operation it was the central hospital for the area. It treated everything from common colds to gun shot wounds. After it closed, numerous stories were told about the location. One story was of a worker being scared so bad they he ran out of the building and refused to go back in. Thomas and Tony visit the hospital in an attempt to document some of the activity.

Here is the short documentary

TCC Team member and Paranormal wizard Tony Felosi was back on the Murder123 podcast with Dr.John Stamey and Robin McCray. They take a look at the highest profile murder case of the century - Jeffrey Epstein and discuss some of the mysterious details surrounding it.
Another special guest is Dr. Tray Dunaway, he is a surgeon and pathologist, he will weigh in on the Epstein case.

Later in the program TCC's own Tony Felosi joins them for "The Cell Block" segment with EVPs of the Manso Shepard murder case. Tony will be a regular contributor for the podcast and we want to share this aspect of our research with everyone.

While most of you know we research numerous cryptids and general weirdness, we also dive into unsolved murders, historical events, and missing person cases, just to name a few. It has not been very long ago I was personally contacted to search for a missing woman. The people knew I know the mountains very well in our area and reach out to me. We have not shared very much of this aspect of our team, but we hope to start adding some of this in the future.

Here is the Podcast

Crypto Crew team member and Paranormal investigator Tony Felosi joins Dr. John Stamey, Devin Tait and guest host Robin McCray to discuss the story of Manzo Shepherd and the events that spawned one of the most infamous trials in Harlan County, Kentucky history.

Taking place on  Black Mountain at 4,145 feet (the tallest peak in Kentucky) in late April 1942, cab driver Joe Christian was brutally murdered by Shepherd and his two friends.

Within one month of the murder, Shepherd would be shot in a crowded courtroom of 300 people and his accomplices, Sherman Clouse and Howard Hensley, would both eventually get life sentences to avoid the death penalty.

A Scare In Your Step: America’s Most Haunted Hikes

Hiking is the most popular activity for travelers, tourism researchers report, so it comes as no surprise that new trails and walking adventures are constantly being developed across the country for tourists and locals alike. If you enjoy the great outdoors, you might be wondering how to square that with your interest in the paranormal. But haunting experiences aren’t just confined to haunted houses and historic landmarks: there are a number of hiking trails across the United States reported to be seriously haunted.

As you probably know by now the following EVPs were captured during a public type event in conjunction with Harlan Haunt Fest event. We took a small group on a ghost walk through the streets of Harlan and had a group ghost hunt at the old court house. The ghost hunt took place in a area known to have paranormal activity. It is also the place where Manzo Shepherd was killed. But as history would have it, there are numerous other deaths linked to the old court house and jail.

Here is the part 3 of the EVPs that were captured during the ghost hunt.

Okay, so here is another small batch of EVPs captured during the group/public ghost hunt. Some of there may  be a little hard to hear due to some background noise some some are still pretty good. As for the enhancement of the EVPs, I mostly just boosted the audio and used a noise reduction filter on them.

Here is the short video

This past Saturday we had the Harlan Haunt Fest, as many of you already know. At the end of the event we had a Ghost Walk and a Ghost Hunt. This part of the even was conducted by Myself (Thomas Marcum), Tony Felosi and Joe Clark. Also assisting the hunt was David Saylor who played Manzo Shepherd in the film "Manzo Shepherd story" and team member Jennifer Fugate.

We had a nice group of people who took part in the ghost walk and hunt. During the ghost hunt we used several different ghost hunting tools. We encouraged everyone to participate and some used various meters and some ask questions during the EVP sessions.

Here is a short video of some of the EVPs.

I ran across this picture and wanted to share and relay the story to our readers. If you will notice on the right side of the picture there appears to be a transparent figure. This, according to the story was taken in a church in the United Kingdom. I have slightly adjusted the picture and circled the possible figure. It looks as if this picture is from an old news paper clipping, but it made no be.

Here is more of the story about the image.

During the recent Pine Mountain Paracon the even finished off with a investigation of the historic Bell Theater located in downtown Pineville. This event was open to the general public and we had a good number of people show up and take part in the investigation. Much of the investigation was broadcast live over facebook.

The video that follows is that live broadcast along with a couple of interviews with some of the folks that took part. The investigation was very successful and the interaction was nothing short of amazing.

I know for the passed little while we have not been posting up very many new articles. This is mainly due to our very busy schedule and the fact that a few members are tied up some real life issues.

Today I wanted to take a little time to bring everyone up to speed on what's going on. I also want to use this time to talk about a recent video capture of Bigfoot.

First I will start with the adventure we had last weekend. An adventure that took us to the famous Monroe House in Indiana.

TCC's Tony Felosi, along with guest investigators Dana Green and Heather Ealy, return to the old Harlan County Court house to attempt contact with a entity we think is a young girl.

In the past, it seems the spirit of the young girl is more willing to interact with female investigators. This trip the team also bring along some toys to use as trigger objects in hopes that the young girl will be more willing to interact.

It seems to have worked as there is interaction with the ball and it was captured on camera.

Here is the video.

A short investigation by The Crypto Crew's Paranormal Team Leader, Tony Felosi and member Lisa Peters. This investigation was conducted at an undisclosed location. This location
is home to numerous accounts of shadow figures and unusual sounds. There are also reports of a piano playing softly on its own.

While the investigation was mostly uneventful, there were several captures of an interesting EVPs.

Here is some of the investigation and the most eerie EVPs, so far.

Recently, The Crytpo Crew's Paranormal Lead investigator, Tony Felosi, conducted a short investigation at the old Harlan County Court house. The old court house has been the home of several murders and it has been a hotbed for paranormal activity.

During this investigation, Tony is trying out a two different ghost boxes. The entities seem to prefer one over the other, as numerous EVPs are captures. Also accompanying Tony on the investigation is Jennifer Williams. Jennifer is a seasoned investigator and understands how to frame questions and document evidence.

During the investigation a entity calling himself Joe provides some EVPs. But there are several others including what we think is a little girl.

Check out the video.

I just thought I would do a little post covering what an amazing event I was at this past Saturday. I was a vendor and I guess a minor celebrity, at this years Harlan Haunt Fest. I had a great time and got to see some old friends and make some new ones. My table was next to fellow crypid researcher Ron Coffey.

The event was an all day affair but there were also activities later into the night if a person wanted to continue. But for me the day started at 7am and ended at about 7pm, so by then I was pretty spent.

Electronic Voice Phenomena or just EVP for short, are sounds recorded on electronic devices that are interpreted as spirit voices. Many psychologists regard EVPs as a form of auditory pareidolia, meaning that the investigator is interpreting random sounds as voices and there really isn't any voice there. But over the years equipment for capturing these voices has gotten better. There are numerous ways to record EVPs. Everything from very low cost devices to ones that cost a thousand dollars or more.

I think EVPs are great evidence of the spirit world. What makes it amazing is that many times you will get a direct response to a specific question or set of questions. This goes way beyond auditory pareidolia, in my opinion.

With that said here is three very interesting EVPs.

The Manzo Shepherd Case
“Murder and Mayhem in Bloody Harlan”
Story by  Tony Felosi

The story of Manzo Shepherd and the events that spawned one of the most infamous trials in Harlan County history started on Black Mountain. At 4,145ft it is the tallest peak in Kentucky and one evening in late April 1942, was the location of a brutal murder.

Within one month of the murder of Joe Christian, a taxi cab driver, Shepherd  would be shot in a crowded courtroom of 300 people and his accomplices, Sherman Clouse and Howard Hensley, would both eventually get life sentences to avoid the death penalty.

Shepherd was killed By Jack Heaton nephew of the murder victim who within 9 months would be set free. Here is a short article describing the events in the courtroom when Shepherd was shot.

Recently, myself and Tony Felosi of Harlan County Paranormal got another chance to investigate the old jail in Harlan county, Kentucky. The old jail is home to numbers murders, suicides and lord only knows what else. The jail has been a hot spot for paranormal activity for a while now, but as of late, it seems the activity has been on the increase.

This investigation yielded a host of evidence, as the activity was really high. I just want to make it clear that the building was on total lockdown. No one was in the building other than Tony and I. There were many things that we heard and had happen. Much of the activity was captured on either video or an audio recorder. There was some evidence, like some foot steps, that we both heard, that has been left out of the video below.

With that said, there was several EVPs and other disembodied voices recorded, alone with other unknown source sounds. It was pretty creepy and the EVP at the end of the video seals it.
Here is a short video of the investigation.

Recently, Myself and Tony Felosi from Harlan County Paranormal conducted a investigation in Harlan County,  Kentucky.

It was on a special day and in a special place. It was the 75 anniversary of a unusual death at the courthouse. This entity has been pretty activity for Tony over the last several years. So, we went in hoping to catch some stuff, we were not disappointed.

Here is a short video of some of the investigation.

This use to be a page on our site and I removed it. But I thought it would be a good idea to preserve the actual content, and add some, from the page. I know some of this information, especially the tools, is probably out dated but there is still some good information. It is important for ghost hunters to be prepare when going out to investigate and this post will provide some useful information. There may even be some seasoned investigators who will find some of these tips useful. There are two lists, one for ghost hunting tools and one is ghost hunting tips.

 Lets get to the list.
