I was alerted to a document that for all intents and purposes, attempts to expose Todd Standing as nothing more than a fraud out to fool people and make money. While I don't personally have any vendetta against Standing, I also don't perceive his content to be that of real Bigfoot.

So, I decided to take a more serious look at the content within the document and see if any of it checked out. Many of the items in the document linked to some type of source that seemed to confirm statements within said document.

Below is some of my efforts to gain more information. I will try to explain why some things are important.
According to the document there was a 2006 film entitled "Slyvanic", that Standing hand a hand in. I first wanted to check this out and try to connect the dots.
Sure enough the film Sylvanic is listed on the IMDB. This is where there is a lot of information.

Standing is listed as  Writer: Todd Standing (re-enactments).

From there I was able to verify that the actors listed where apparently in other films and some even had facebook pages. It seemed most, if not all, live in Canada.

Also listed on the IMDB page for the title was the production companies and distributor.

Production company - Outstanding Productions and Sylvanic Productions - Of course both of these have noted ties directly to Todd Standing.

Distributor - IDIOM Films - are listed as the ones who distributed "Sylvanic" in a limited release. They do have a facebook page and a website. No mention of the film on either page. Also they are located in Canada. https://www.facebook.com/Idiom-Films-156710704364241/

Produced by Kenneth Barr and Todd Standing. Mr. Barr has several films to his credit, so that part of the puzzle is legit. There was also a companion documentary "The Origins Of Sylvanic" that was produced and toured through 2006 and 2007 to help promote a wide release of the feature film. We all know there is nothing wrong with making a film. I wanted to check this to make sure the names where that of real people and not just random made up names. I invite you to check into it more if you wish. Another interesting item in this document was a trailer for the film. You can watch it by clicking -  Sylvanic trailer Another important item in the document was a Kickstarter attempt by Standing to raise funds for a film. This was back in 2014. It is important because we can watch the trailer featured on the Kickstarter and date the "Devil" face bigfoot in Standing current film Discovering Bigfoot. So the footage in his current film is several years old and the other footage is even older. The document also claims that people involved had to sign NDAs and are now having regrets that the current film, Discovering Bigfoot, is being sold as being evidence of real Bigfoot. According to the document, the writer of the document interviewed some of the people involved.  Here is a screen capture of a small part of the document. You can click on it to enlarge.

It basically says Standing didn't pay them and that he was intent on pulling off a massive hoax pertaining to Sasquatch. Later in the document it even states the size of the man who played in the Sasquatch suit and that he was a bodybuilder.

Now, I don't know if anything in the document actually proves Standing hoaxed anything but it sure makes one think he did. It does show he has a history of attempting to get a large scale film produced. After all his Kickstarter was for $900K and it fell short by a long ways.

I will now link to the original documents, I invite you to read them and make up you own mind about all of it.

There is a lot to these documents and there appears to be many falsehoods exposed about the filming of these Bigfoot. I really hope people will take the time to read them over and do some checking for yourself. This document, if true, could end the lawsuit started by Standing.

I'm not sure who authored this document or where it originally comes from. But if the information is correct, and so far it seems to be, then it seems to point to it all being nothing more that a well played hoax by Standing. There are numerous allegations in the document and some supporting evidence. It will be interesting to see if more comes out in the future.

I wonder IF all of this is true, would it open Standing up to sued for fraud?  Would he have to payback money to customers who were told it was real and it wasn't.

As the Bigfoot World Turns! Stay Tuned.

Thanks
Tom

  1. The documents and supporting statements could have been fabricated just as easily by someone with a personal vendetta as the supposed video evidence put forth by Mr. Standing. I tend to think Mr. Standing's "evidence" is embellished at best and a complete hoax at worst. De-tangling the truth in the midst of mass deception is indeed a laborous endeavor
