My previous post featured a viral image of a Mystery figure from Arizona which caught fire and sparked debate. There is another image, actually a game camera picture, that is also getting a lot of attention. The above picture was taken by a game cam in Pennsylvania. The picture was posted to facebook by James Bobo Fay of the hit TV show Finding Bigfoot. He stated the picture came from Clara County, but I don't think there is a Clara County. What I think he was referring to was Clara Township which is in Potter county,PA.
If it was indeed Clara Township, then this is a very small place with a small population of around 200 people. Clara Township is only about 20 square miles in size.
Now, lets get back to the picture, is there evidence of a bear or a bigfoot?
The picture has caused a lot of of debate and some arguments. Some say it is a bigfoot while others say it is nothing more than a bear. I just happen to fall on the side of it being a bear. Even Bobo stated when he posted the picture that he thought it was a bear. There are some telling signs that it is not a bigfoot and just a bear.
If you will notice the buttocks, it is flat and almost not existent. Bigfoot walk upright the majority of the time and have a large gluteus maximus. Gluteus Maximus is the main muscle of the hip. Its large size is one of the most characteristic features of the muscular system in humans, connected as it is with the power of maintaining the trunk in the erect posture. As you can see from the picture, this creature does not have a pronounced buttocks, which means it does not, or rarely, stands or walks on two legs.
But there could be other evidence of it being a bear. Bears have short tails, so I attempted to enhance the photo and looked for a tail. I have used a yellow arrow to point to what could be a tail.
Another point of interest was the foot of the creature in the game cam photo. Some said that bears do not have feet. The picture to the left is a zoom in on a foot of a black bear. It looks very similar to the subjects foot. Bear feet are pretty flexible and are often mistaken for bigfoot tracks by inexperienced researchers.
In the end, this is nothing more that a black bear looking for food. People who have been out and actually experienced bears in the wild know this is a bear. Bear legs can really look odd and human like at certain angles. Then you add in the over zealous people who want every picture and shadow to be a bigfoot and you have an instant debate.
Some who are skeptical of the photo, claim it is a photoshopped image. I can not see any evidence of photoshopping. I do not think it is a photoshopped image. Some folks are on target with the image in question and state it is a bear.
This is not the first time Pennsylvania has had a debatable bear/bigfoot photo. The Jacobs photo from 2007 was and still is debated. In my opinion, the Jacobs creature has a better chance of being a bigfoot than this new game cam capture. But it most likely was another bear cub, but still interesting.
This new photo was still great for discussion and a good promo for the upcoming season of Finding Bigfoot. It is also good for study and could be helpful future images.
Thanks
