Are the eyes truly the windows to the soul? Spiritual people are often challenged by science to change their beliefs, but can a scientist change his in the wake of insurmountable “spiritual evidence?” I Origins, directed by Mike Cahill, and starring Michael Pitt, Britt Marling, and Astrid Berges-Frisbey begs the question.
A microbiologist, played by Michael Pitt, sets out on a quest to disprove the existence of God once and for all through intensive studies of the unique signature of the human eye. But he finds himself madly in love with a woman, played by Astrid Berges-Frisbey, who will shake his beliefs to their foundation and challenge everything he thought he knew about the nature of existence.
