Smithville Monster of Ontario
This begins the stories of the Smithville Monster. And is almost the end of the reported stories.
A few days later the Smithville Monster appears to have traveled about 7 miles to the northwest towards Campden. Seven people called and reported seeing the creature. All described it as being big, black, and furry.
Wayne Beach saw it only a yard behind his car. It "just looked like a great big gorilla." Manfred Berg reported seeing an unidentified something near his garage. Two 16-inch tracks were found near the garage. Hector McDonald encountered a creature in his barn but saw only the rear view of it.
Sergeant Bass of the Ontario Provincial Police stated: "It's not a monster. There's no such thing as a beast half human and half animal. Somebody is playing a hoax."
