An American Indian guide taking parties of visitors fishing in a river in Quebec had several run-ins with a creature described as being tall, very heavily built, man-shaped, with a bullet head and a bull neck. It was covered all over in long, shiny black hair and with very long arms, shorter legs, and big hands. On one occasion, the creature chased the guide out of the woods and into his canoe. Not content with that, the creature then waded out into the water to chase him even further out of the area.

In October 1974, a man mushroom picking in the Agassiz Provincial Forest reported seeing a brownish animal running through the jackpines on its hind legs. Although it was less than 6 ft. tall, it was heavily built and had long arms that were swinging as it ran. "It took me an hour and a half to get there and 15 minutes to come back."
