Large Bird Sighting in Nebraska
I got this report submitted a few days ago and wanted to share it. We know that there have been sporadic sightings of large birds with huge wingspans for many years now. Most of these sightings are considered to be that of a Thunderbird.

Describe:
As a teenager, I was driving in my neighborhood heading to my house. I noticed while driving a huge bird in the sky. I pulled my car over to watch because I had never seen something so big. It looked all black from what I could tell and it was high in the sky but still so very large.
I lived very close to the zoo in Omaha and thought maybe something got loose but there is nothing even at the zoo that I could think of that had a wingspan that large.
I watched it for several minutes until I couldn't see it anymore fly high in the sky. I've been looking for such an animal again since and have never seen one.
What color was it: Black or dark brown
Was other evidence found: No
More details:
I was just in awe of this creature. I couldn't believe how high in the sky it was but still how very large it was.

I was looking at our sightings map, and I noticed that in 1990 there was a similar sighting west of Omaha of a large bird. You can read that report by clicking here.
Could the two sightings be of the same large bird? Could it be a Thunderbird?
