Ranchita Bigfoot Photograph

The Ranchita Bigfoot photograph [or Wood Ape] was allegedly taken in September, 2011 by an anonymous hiker. It was not presented to the public for almost a year.

The photographer said that he was taking photos in the Ranchito area of southern California. He took a variety of pictures around the area, including two photos of a pile of dead branches. [Some sources claim three photos were taken.]  When the ones of the branches were taken, they were thought to have been debris as a result of a flood. There is no photograph presented to show a river or even a dry river bed to support that theory.

The photographer stated that he never saw the head or the creature in the second picture until a year later when he was going through his photos from the previous year. On September 20, 2012, Mark Anders posted his Youtube video featuring the story and photos.

The photos somehow came to the attention of Bigfoot Tony and he analyzed the photos. He presented his theories on what and how the photo was produced in a Youtube video on September 6, 2017.

Opinions on the photos have ranged from "Can only be a sasquatch" to "Fake. A zoo picture".

There are many claims that this is nothing more than a photo of a gorilla. Some say Photoshop, some say taken at a safari park. There is disbelief that it took him a year to see the figure in the photo, so it's fake. It has been called a "fuzzy log" with the sun shining just right. Pareidolia. Can't get that close to a sasquatch without them knowing you're there. Has to be real because a suit that good would cost too much to make. One critic said he could see the wires on the branches supporting the body, keeping it upright and in place.

And all of this seemed hoopla seems to have been laid to rest and the photographs mostly forgotten. Until just recently.

It appears there is someone who has posted the photograph below with the claim that he took the photograph while out hunting. When approached for more information, he became unavailable.  He blocked those who were asking questions. Either he, or someone with the same name, has been removed or has left bigfoot groups on Facebook.

If this person is the original photographer, it would be interesting to find out why the story has changed. And why he has waited for 8 years before coming forth with his identity. And why he has refused to answer legitimate questions about the photograph.
