Movie Review: Renegade: The Life Story of David Icke

No one on the planet in our lifetime has been more controversial than David Icke. Less-than-affectionately known as a “renowned conspiracy theorist” and to others, a nutjob or hero, David Icke has pushed the proverbial buttons on our view of reality to the brink of total oblivion on numerous occasions and still manages to stay relevant after decades. Why? Because as crazy as some might think he is, people are beginning to see and experience the truth in what he’s been saying all along, as this new documentary about his life illustrates.
If you’re looking for a play-by-play of his life from the beginning, you won’t find it here. But what you will find is a man reflecting on his amazing life and career that didn’t start with a bang, but rather a whimper as he struggled for years in the wake of extreme ridicule and under grave threat from authorities to get his unconventional messages out there through his books and in abysmally small speaking venues. Icke, along with amazing family support and an unwavering devil-may-care attitude, illustrates his nothing-less-than spiritual journey of awakening to a very different view of some of the realities of our world that many people just didn’t want to accept. And yet he persisted and managed to drastically transform the world views of several generations of humanity...or at the very least, make them think more deeply about them.
But no matter what you think about David Icke personally, what you’ll take away from this brilliantly-expedited film are some things we all forget at times: That one person can inspire millions and definitely make a difference in the world. And that we should all speak our truth, be exactly who we are, and make no apologies for ourselves no matter what anyone thinks about us. Because sometimes that’s exactly what the world needs even if it doesn’t know it yet. And as sad as it is that those kinds of people in this day and age are called renegades, David Icke most singlehandedly has paved the way for a new wave of renegades and a more awakened future for humanity. A very inspiring film!
