Have you seen this picture? Boy, I sure have.

This image and also a short GIF image of it is supposed to be proof of giants, and it has been floating around on the internet for a few years now. It shows a large man walking and some point to this as not only proof of giants but of the Nephilim. The Nephilim were the offspring of the "sons of God" and the "daughters of men" before the flood according to Genesis 6:4.

I have seen this picture show up on numerous bigfoot groups and various "crypto" type news groups on Facebook for a couple years now.

But the truth of the matter is that, while giants may in fact be real, this particular image is from a movie.
I have attempted to tell others that it was not real and was from a film, but some still insist it is "proof" of giants and that it is real. Some even got pretty mad at me over it.

The image is from the film Big Man Japan. The film and the overly large and exaggerated characters are computer generated images, CGI for short. The film looks fun but I have never watched it. I like weird films like this from time to time.

Here is the synopsis and then the trailer of the film.

"BIG MAN JAPAN is an outrageous portrayal of an original superhero. As Big Man Japan, Daisato inherited the role of defending Japan against a host of bizarre monsters. He receives high-voltage electroshocks which transform him into a stocky, stick-wielding giant several stories high.
However, where his predecessors were revered as national heroes, he is an outcast among the citizens he protects."


The belief that this could be proof of giants does not or did not seem to be limited to just cryptozoological groups. I think others thought it was real as well. This prompted the famous or infamous face checking website Snopes to chime in on "Giants in Japan".

While we know that sometimes Snopes gets it wrong, in this particular case they were right on the money with their fact finding.

So, lets's hope this is put to rest and we don't continue to see it posted a proof of giants, nephilim, or bigfoot.
