What Kind Of Empath Are You?
The Eight Different Types
 By Dorraine Fisher

Thousands of people who were once believed by many to be too sensitive to live on planet earth now have a home in the psychic community and believe they might be empaths. And they might be right, but with that empathic skill comes certain psychic abilities. We empaths feel things. And we feel them way too much sometimes. But if we can stop and examine the insights we have, we’ll find that we have abilities that are way beyond the average human. Empaths have the ability to sense the energy of other people, places, and things. And these can now be classified into different groups. And hopefully this can give you a glimpse of what kind of an empath you are and how you can use that to your fullest advantage.

So let’s look at the different types:

1. Intuitive or claircognizant empath: claircognizance is a sense of clear knowing. Intuitive empaths have the ability to just know something, like the answer to a question or the solution to a problem. These types of empaths read the energy of others very easily and they can often tell when people are genuine or when they’re lying. The big problem these kinds of empaths may have is trusting in their own abilities to know.

2. Animal empath: these kinds of empaths understand animals and what they need. They seem to have a “gift” with animals and will create relationships with them that others can’t. The animal empath will usually choose a career with animals and will spend a lot of time learning about them. They may spend more time with animals than they spend with people, curiously because they believe the animals understand THEM better.

3. Psychometric empath: This type of empaths are able to feel the energy of inanimate objects. They have the ability to receive information and memories from personal items such as clothing and photographs.

4. Plant empath: These kinds of empaths that can feel energetically what plants need. They may feel a deep connection to trees or other plants and seem to understand the care they require on a deeper level than most. These types of empaths will often logically choose a career as arborists or horticulturists.

5. Telepathic empaths: These types of empaths have the ability to sense the energy and the thoughts of others that aren’t being expressed verbally. They can hear the thoughts of others.

6. Geomantic empath: This type of empath can sense the energy of a place or geographic area. If you’re one of those people who feels a deep connection to certain places and you feel repelled by others, you may be a geomantic empath. If you’ve ever felt a sense of horror or dread when you’ve entered someone’s house or felt a strong sense of belonging in another, you might be a geomantic empath. Geomantic empaths are also the most likely to get upset when a place they feel connected to is destroyed or disturbed in some way.

7. Physical or medical empath: these kinds of empaths can sense if the energy in another human is diseased or out of balance. They can sense another’s suffering and physical pain and may actually feel it themselves on some level. These kinds of empaths are often physically exhausted by this ability and have to learn to channel it constructively.

8. Heyoka: believed to be the most powerful type of empath, uses humor and a method that by some could be interpreted as trickery. But this is meant to wake the recipient up from their psychic sleep and make them think outside the box and think differently about their long-held beliefs. The term “heyoka” is a Native American word meaning “fool” or “sacred clown.” These types of empaths don’t take themselves quite as seriously as other empaths and seem to understand what people are feeling before the subjects know it themselves. Heyokas have a tendency to think in a different way than everyone else and often live on the fringes of society.
