A few days ago I got the following Bigfoot sighting report submitted. This report come from Madison county, Illinois. Madison County was established on September 14, 1812 and was named after President James Madison. In the late 19th century, Madison County became an industrial region, and in the 20th century was known first for Graniteware, and later for its steel mills, oil refineries, and other heavy industries. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 741 square miles.
Here is the sighting report.

Describe sighting in detail:
I was riding my Yamaha enduro home from a friends house on a hilly dirt road between our houses. About 1/8 mile from my road this huge dark hairy figure ran down a 15 foot embankment across the road, over a fence and into an old cow pasture that went into some woods. It made it down the embankment across the road and fence in what seemed like five strides. I stopped my bike and ran after it to get a look but it was all ready in the woods. My subconscious made me stop and this thing sounded like a elephant running through the woods.
My body got all tingly, the hairs stood up and I froze for a minute. Then I ran to my bike and started it up and rode home, which was right across the road from the woods of my sighting.
I never went on that side of the road again. When I went in the woods on our side of the road I always had a shotgun or 30-30 rifle. I was a junior in high school and this had an impact on me. I still look over my shoulders in the woods to this day.
I have been in some s##t in my day and been scared but this sighting eclipsed that. It was weird but I was terrified and calm at the same time. I kind of would and would not want to see one again. I will never forget it to this day. The thing that shocked me most was how fast it ran. Nothing that big should go that fast. I never smelled anything nasty that sometimes go with these sightings. Well that's it and thanks.

A big thanks to Jack for sharing his sighting with us. I can understand his feeling and understand how things like this tend to stay with you forever.
I would also like to note that this sighting took place in 1975, I'm guess the area was much less developed than it is now and I would assume there was much less population.
Its always great to document these older encounters and it just shows how that these sighting can have a long lasting effect on the witness.
Thanks
Tom
