I have got and seen a few reports of some strange, low in the sky, slow moving objects last night.
The first was from Jay in Iowa at about 10:30pm. Here is what he posted.
"Don't know what I saw in the sky just now, low, slow and bright, with a short tail it was headed east to Illinois, A meteor or something, it was way to low for a falling star."
I also found a report of the object being seen in Connecticut. The report there were more that one object.
Then I was sent a report from Patrick Thomas and here is what he told me.
"I had a wired sighting tonight. My girl friend texted me at work about 8:30 pm Sunday night asking me if I had seen the "streaks" in the sky. I replied that I had not and she insisted I go outside and look. She was at our house in central Pennsylvania about 12 miles from my work place. I went out and looked and saw what appeared to be 5 contrails overhead. 3 going one direction, all spaced evenly apart and 2 going the other direction spaced the same criss crossing with the other 3. All 5 were perfectly straight. The weird thing is they were very low. I mean very low. I've seen military fly that low but not right around here but I didn't hear any sound. Not sure what it could of been. I tried to take a picture but turned out poorly."
Here is Patrick's photo and you can see where the two objects crossed by the trail they left. Look below the moon.
From what I have gathered the American Meteor Society is investigating and many think it could have been fragments of comet Isom. It had been stated that Comet Isom could hit on Sunday, so looks like it might have.
Special thanks to those who reported this event. If anyone has more information or photos please contact me.
Thanks
