This investigation/research by TCC Team Members Bobby & Corinna LongBoth are avid outdoors people and good researchers.
This is a personal encounter by Bobby.
This is a very personal and sensitive encounter as told to us by Bobby. This took place when Bobby was very young, somewhere around 5 to 7 years old. It took a lot of courage to finally tell about this experience.
Here is what Bobby told us:
"I was just a little guy about 5 to 7 years old and I was put on point for a deer hunt in Oregon.
The area was Skookum pond near Tiller, Oregon.
I was very young at the time and knew no wrong, I had set up at point above where the adults would flush out the deer for me to take a shot at. I sat against a huge fir tree and remained silenced for what seemed to be hours, in the calmness and tranquility of it all, a very large naked but very hairy man stepped out to me and shushed me for talking to myself.
I became so scared that I ran all the way back to our camp. My stepfather believed me! The other hunters laughed at me. "They are out there" I said!.."
Bobby went on to tell us that until now no one knew about this story other than him, his Wife and those who were there that day. All the people have now passed away other than Bobby and his wife Corinna.
Bobby and Corinna go to this same area, now years later, and the area still has bigfoot activity.

Can you imagine being that young and having a large, naked, harry man step out on you in the forest, it had to be terrifying. It's no wonder Bobby has kept this story to himself. I totally understand the sensitive nature about this sighting. I thank Bobby for finally telling of this life changing encounter.

To "Shush" someone is to imply a knowledge of a culture and language. There is the soothing encouragement: "Shhhh. Shhhh."
ReplyDeleteThere is an instructional command: "Shush! Shhht!"
One might be said to a fussing baby by its mother. The other to a naughty student by a teacher. All about inflection, intensity, duration.
So this large, hairy, naked man (Sasquatch?) gives an instructional command, known among English speaking human beings, to be quiet. This means this particular Sasquatch either uses the same vocal commands in its culture and language, or is familiar with English as spoken in North American, and Euro-American culture.
Either scenario is rather fantastic to imagine.
If this indeed happened, and is not the imagination of a small young child left on his own in the woods (5-6 is pretty young to be deer hunting and have a gun - not to mention illegal in every state I can think of), this larger, hairy, naked man was probably a human being and not Sasquatch.
I really want more info about this Sushing too.
ReplyDeleteNot because I doubt its possibility as Anon 1 does - after all we're fellow primates and one of the most compelling things about Sasquatch reports are how human-like many of their characteristics are. And they seem to have some sort of "speech" based on the "samurai talk" that has been recorded...
No, I want more info because it's *fascinating*. Their interactions with children (where they presumably feel less threatened) seem to show them relating sympathetically as one adult mammal to another's young. Reminds me of that young kid in the 50's (60s?) who was lost in the woods and a female sasquatch took him to an area where he'd be better found by his searching parents.
So any details about Bobby's experience would be appreciated!
skookum as in skookum pond is another name for sasquatch so this young man was near skookum pond or sasquatch pond
