A Researcher’s Close Encounter In Colorado

            It’s not often that researchers find themselves up close and personal with the elusive hairy ones. But researcher, Leon Drew, from the rough mountain country of Cripple Creek, Colorado shared a long, intense moment with one about six weeks ago that he won’t soon forget.

            Leon was taking an afternoon hike between two of his research areas as he’d done many times.  But on this particular day, when he passed through a patch of Aspen trees, he came face to face with a sasquatch that he guessed to be female due to her “thin waste and protruding breasts.” She had slipped out of a cluster of pine trees and was standing what he estimated was about 30 feet away from him.

            Leon said she did not appear aggressive; no real reaction at all, he claimed. And she made no discernible sounds. And he said they stared at each other for what Drew estimated was about 15 seconds. He said the only feeling he could remember was being simply surprised by the event.

            When he finally found the presence of mind to grab his camera/phone, she slipped into the brush and disappeared as quickly as she had come.

            Leon described the creature as having been about seven and a half feet tall and possibly 350 to 400 pounds with brown and light tan-colored hair.  And since he had been so close to her, I asked him about her facial features.

            He said, “A little facial hair, dark brown to black in color. Her face looked to be half human and half ape. Ape nose and mouth, and human looking eyes. You could see intelligence in them.”  ********
