Bigfoot Takes Man to Cave?

Well, sometimes we get reports that are really hard to believe. I always try to give the witness the benefit of the doubt and assume they are being honest and that something really happened to them. But I also attempt to check the story out and verify it if possible.
With that said, I present to you a report I got in a few days ago. I will give some more information at the end of the post.

Here is the report.

-Start Report-

Name: Ross L****

Email Address: ajdm**********(on file)

State: Puddletown Forest (Cuckoo Lane)

County: Dorset, UK

Date of Sighting: 24th of June 2014

Time of Day: Morning

Nearest Town: Puddletown

Length of Sighting: A long time

How many Witnesses: I'm not sure

Any Photos/Videos: No

Describe sighting in detail:
I was walking my dog through the area around Puddletown when I heard my dog bark loudly behind me. A giant hairy figure, about 8-ft was standing behind me. He hit me hard on the head knocking me out. I woke up later in a small cave in a forest. The creature was eating something with its back towards me. It wasn't my dog because he ran away (found him a week later a few miles from my house). I crept out of the cave. It stopped eating and turned. I started running away with it in pursuit. I found a car and hid under it. It made astonishing howls, supernatural howls. I could see its feet moving around the car, searching for me. It then stopped and almost galloped away. I heard its howls the next day and the day after AND THE DAY AFTER THAT but haven't heard it since...

-End Report-

I definitely have some reserves about this submission, but I would hate to dismiss a real event.

Some interesting things about this submission. First, the name of the submitter doesn't seem to have any connection to the call letters of the email address. Second, an email address search does not produce any results. Third, the story seems pretty far fetched. Fourth, I could not get the person to answer my email. These throw up red flags for me as well as some other things.

But let me also talk a little about the area or Puddletown forest.
Puddletown does have a cave system, it does have some history of possible bigfoot sightings.

Our Friend, Adam Bird of British Bigfoot Research, has captured possible evidence in this area. (Click Here)
I also consulted with another friend and British Bigfoot researcher, Deborah Hatswell, about Puddletown and the cave system.

There has also been other evidence captured from this area, in the form of unknown howls.Check out the video:

So, while I think there is evidence that there could be Bigfoot in Puddletown, I just have too many red flags for this submitted report to believe it to be legitimate.

So, assuming this is a fake report, our next question is why would someone submit a fake encounter?
There could be several reasons. It could be just for kicks and giggles, or to maybe get attention, or maybe they do not take the subject seriously at all. On the darker side, it could be to discredit a person, a research group or the subject in general.

We sometimes get these types of reports and while I would hate to disrespect a real witness, I just find this report to contain too many red flags to believe.

Thanks
Tom
