Bright UFO Seen Above Trees
I got the following UFO report submitted several days ago. I think all the UFO activity and news reports recently are making people more open to talking about the strange things they have seen in the sky. Our government and even the news are talking about UFOs and aliens in a serious manner now, but in the past, it was always a joke to them. I hate seeing some smug news reporter making fun of a bigfoot sighting or a UFO sighting.

Describe:
It was a big white light hovering silently above a stand of trees and silently lowered itself down in the trees about a mile away. It was actually 1967 when we saw it. We started to investigate but we had been spelunking all day and were too tired to continue.
What color was the object:
Bright white globe
Follow-up Question: Did the object make and sound?
A: No, it was completely silent. At first, we thought it was a military helicopter that had been silenced. But those didn't exist then. Even today they're not completely silent. It was about a half mile away, and we originally thought to check it out. But it was late and we were tired, and we were all a bit nervous about it.
Missouri is sort of a UFO hot spot, some years hotter than others. There was a spike of sightings in the 1960s in Missouri. This is a rural area and folks are outside a lot, even at night, and a lot of folks have seen them here.

This report makes me wonder just what the UFO was doing descending down among the trees. One can only speculate as to the reason.
