The Craven Bigfoot Footage
The Craven Bigfoot Footage was filmed several years ago and has been cast to the cutting room floor.
The video sparked quite a bit of interest when it came to the attention of researchers. I counted at least a dozen breakdowns by various peoples that have cropped up from 2014 through 2017.
The story is as follows : A witness [or a family] went out for a drive. As they traveled down the road, they saw a hair-covered creature walking on two feet on a hill beside the road. The witness stopped the car and got out a camera and began to film the bipedal being as it disappeared into the bushes.
The film footage appears to show a being with a conical head, long arms and a solid brown color.
The location for the sighting is given as Craven, Saskatchewan, which is northeast of Lumsden and near Regina.
The encounter seems to have been first posted by Brian Johnson on September 30, 2013. [see link below]. It was labeled as "Possible Bigfoot Sighting, Saskatchewan, Canada".
The video opens with this statement : "We were on drive towards evening when we saw something walking in the ditch. We slowed down, pulled over and recorded what we could before the figure disappeared into the bush. This was recorded near Craven, Saskatchewan, Canada."
The video gained more views when others picked it up and began posting in early 2014, which has been reported as the year of the sighting. Adam Bird shared it January 20, 2014 as a possible sighting.
Paranormal Review also shared it August 28, 2014. Their opinion was it was not a tall creature. They estimated it at being 5 to 6 foot tall. Of course, all sasquatch are born at 7 or 8 foot tall. OUCH ! Come on, now. Hopefully, we're past the point of dismissing an encounter due to height. There are young ones and they obviously will not be as tall as the adults. They also cite the fact that no one talked during the filming time. Not everyone babbles while filming something unusual. If you want to dispute a video, find more reasons. Thank you.
Mountain Beast Mysteries posted a breakdown of the video. They mistakenly stated the encounter was in 2014 when it was actually was in the fall of 2013. They were skeptical of the encounter, feeling it was a strange area to have a sighting. Claiming it was not a "typical" area, as there are no large forested regions. They do not like that there are no visible facial features and the entire body is not seen. Of course, that would be great for a video. But it does not happen often. And when it does, well, a lot of critics then say it is a suit and a mask.
They finish with the explanation that they feel it is most likely a person, a hitchhiker. Ok. Could be. But then why, if the person is hitchhiking would the person leave the area of the road, heading down the hill, and moving out of sight. One might suppose that the purpose of hitchhiking is to be on or near the road in hopes of someone stopping to give them a ride. When this car stopped, wouldn't a hitchhiker quickly approach the car in hopes they were offering him a ride?
It is also claimed that this must be a mistaken or fake sighting because it is too thickly inhabited by people. Well, the 2016 census lists Craven with a population of 214. And Lumsden is still cited as being a farm community with a population of 1824. There are many lakes in the area. It is near Regina which is the capital city of Saskatchewan and although it is a larger populated area [215,106], they are officially described: "Although situated on a flat plain with few indigenous trees, Regina boasts some of western Canada's most innovative urban landscaping, with plentiful green spaces, hiking and biking paths, playgrounds, oak-lined streets and parks throughout the city." Add to that the aforementioned lakes and bodies of water . . . . Yes, it is not the forested mountains of British Columbia or Washington state, but there are reported encounters from many other areas that do not resemble those terrains.
Of course, I love the best reason given for this not being an actual encounter. The poster had never seen one in that area for himself. Well, all we have is what we know and experience, so I guess I'll give him that one.

Bigfoot Evidence reviewed the footage and stated ". . . so many things 'right'. . . ."
1. It's really old -- like VHS quality old.
2. Back story is damn good.
3. We have no idea where or who it came from.
4. It's 'good footage' filmed in a place you've never heard of before . . .
Well, ok. If they feel those are all good reasons. It's all ok.
Above Top Secret had this to say: "The thing they filmed does have a 'classic' Sasquatch type appearance . . . not a believer in this creature at all, but if they set out to hoax I must say they did a pretty darn good job of it."
Well, is it a sasquatch? There are reasons to believe, and reasons to doubt. I can only say, It's possible. I wasn't there. I wasn't in the witness's head. I don't know. But I can say that the video is interesting. And the jury is still out.
