Sasquatch Sighting- Myakka City, Florida
There is a history of "Skunk Ape" or sasquatch sightings in the Myakka Swamp region of Florida. On June 1, 2018, another sighting was added to the growing list.
Subtropical storm Alberto had passed through the Gulf coast of Florida, leaving the Myakka River at flood stage, overflowing into the wetlands and low-lying areas.
The witness was on 73rd Ave. E., a private dirt road, a passenger in a vehicle being driven by her husband. Due to the recent storms, there had been little traffic down this road, which was also still partly flooded. It was when they reached Long Creek that she noticed something behind the fence. At first, she thought it was a pile of dark soggy grass and moss in an odd shape. Then she suddenly realized that this was some kind of creature, standing still, trying not to be noticed.
The area consists of a creek bottom with heavy foliage, wet and swampy. Nearby was a potato field with rotting potatoes and a field of watermelons. Other farms in the area grow citrus; waterways are filled with fish and other aquatic creatures. Also nearby is the Lemur Breeding Reserve which grows mango, passion fruit, guava, grapes, banana, persimmon, and bamboo.
